Stock Apps - Flashable zips here. - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

Return to Contents Page - doubleshot Developers Reference
Okay guys - here ya go.
Bloater is having some issues at the moment, and i'm working on other things and not exactly willing to take a time-out and deal with it right now. As a get-you-by patch, what i've done is taken the time to turn a majority of the stock apps into flashable zip packages that you install just like a ROM. They are patches that will add the apps to your system partition.
They will all install any widgets or supporting files needed for it to work. They will also all wipe cache and clear dalvik.
Each package will perform cleanup before installing - so if you have an older copy (or newer!) of the app on your system it will remove that first and remove the data directories. This means you will lose any settings associated with these apps so keep that in mind.
These are DE-ODEXED apps - They will work fine on an odexed filesystem, but only if this app was not already installed on it in odexed form.
You can check my doubleshot Developers Reference for more info on some of these apps.
Here are the ones from the stock 1.28.531.9 software version:

Sorry to bring up old threads, but any chance I could get these stock apps reposted? All the links are dead. Camera app is the one I'm most interested in.

I just found out over the last half a day that the filehost I was using lost everything.
I'm fighting the edge of exhaustion now, was trying to stay awake long enough for a company conference call, but I don't have another half hour of consciousness left in me to make it.
Gonna crash now, will be working on getting what I can back up somewhere - not sure an eta yet, but I'll do the best I can in the limited time I have to throw at this stuff.

Eventually I am sure we will get most of these back up. But I imagine there might be some whom no one has.. You can always extract then from the stock ROM yourself.

I'm sorry about that Fozzy501. When I was rearranging them and TRYING to highlite them better I killed a bunch of those links. (I'm SO embarassed).
They are all fixed now and I just rechecked them.

I just rooted my phone for the first time and loaded the CM9 r8 rom from here and lost some of these apps from the stock build, I want the weather, camera and polaris apps back on but someone on another thread said that with cm9 polaris doesnt work. Can I use your upload for my new rom? or is this only for stock build?

Those apps will only work on the stock based GB ROMs. They require the sense framework that is built into those ROMs. (Polaris *might* work). The camera definitely won't.
For weather you might try beautiful widgets. That app has some great weather stuff that can be made to imitate the sense weather and clock stuff.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement

can someone reupload the stock swype app? please and thanks

New HTC Magic Update Avail for Nordic/Portugal - Please Upload

There's a new Official HTC Magic update located here:
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=633
Here's the info on the page:
Improved Functions
1. Google Maps has been updated to version 3.1.1.
2. Setup Wizard has been updated to load all privacy policies and Google Terms of Service from the network.
3. Fixed Exchange Contact and Calendar synchronization issues. After editing contacts without a photo assigned, contact synchronization would fail. After editing calendar appointments and accepting changes using ‘enter’ calendar synchronization would fail.
4. Fixed authentication failure when manually setting up an Exchange server account.
5. Google security patch fix. For details, please refer to http://www.ocert.org/advisories/ocert-2009-011.html
Note:
* The update is available for the following regions:
Portugal- ROM version 1.19.410.1;
Nordic- ROM version 1.19.409.2
Could some one please make this available for download? You need a valid serial number to download it. I'd like to use it to update a custom rogers build for the G1/Dream. Thanks.
I sent you a link by PM, I'd post it here but it's on rapidshare limited to 10 downloads...
Thanks! I'm downloading it now. Hopefully it'll help get rid of a few annoying bugs in the Roger builds. Like stuck widgets, etc. I'll let you know how it turns out.
will this work with the 32b ?
Probably not, it has the HTC kernel so it probably won't boot on the 32B

I've posted the rom.zip file from the:
RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_HTC_PTG_release _signed_NoDriver.exe

If you want the original file, I can upload that to the server as well. I don't run windows, so I simply used wine to extract the rom.zip. Here's the link & md5sum:

Thank-you very much.
I just wanted to thank HellHitZ one more time. I was successful in using the system.img to update a custom version of Virtudude's V3 Rom along w/ some other minor updates for the G1. I didn't even wipe before upgrading & the speed difference is very noticable. So thanks again!

Hi to all,
Pay attention that an update to the SPL will be made and you will probably lose the capability to get root for the phone.

Hi hotweiss,
It is noticeable. I left Virtudude's boot.img alone & simply updated all apk's, system frameworks, & a few libs, along w/ adding Cyanogen' Dalvik VM from Donut. Then I added some stuff from Soulife's Rogers Remix 2.9.2 rom. Only minor stuff there. There's no optimization on the apk's, or the frameworks. When I first flashed it, I didn't wipe first. All my apps were still in place, the only problem I had was I had re-create all my email accounts in the updated Mail app. Once I did that, everything was fine. While out working thru early morning hours @ a customer site & roaming on AT&T I also noticed a huge difference in the browser. I've been testing the rom over 16 hours now & I'm happy with it. It does what I set out to accomplish. It's a stable rom requested by some friends that didn't want apps pushed to the sd automatically & isn't themed. It might not be running the latest kernel & have all the new stuff added like other roms, but some people don't care for all that. Just providing another option I haven't looked at your latest version 1.11. How much of the update did you use? Curious. Take care.

The rom I updated using this update is for the T-Mobile G1 which was originally mod'ed by Virtudude, so I kept his boot.img. I only wanted the updated apk's/frameworks, etc. I didn't even look at the boot.img that came w/ this update sorry. I'll let the more qualified "Magic/Sapphire" devs here answer the questions about the new boot.img. Take care.
Do not use that update!

[CM6] CM6-Extender-BugFixes, gaaps, keyboards, and more!

Updated thread moved here!!!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7487036
I put this together for myself, but I figured I'd share it in case anyone else wanted it!
I got the idea from MagnusRagnarok and his Cyan Power-up. Thanks MagnusRagnarok!
The thing is, I didn't really like Cyan Power-up for two reasons: His inclusion of apps easily available from the market and his inclusion of a pre-installed theme.
I made this simply to put the Facebook/Market bug fixes, Gapps, and the CM6-Snap-4.1 Kernel in one zip instead of 3 plus another apk. I ended up adding a few small apps and a choice of keyboards! You know, for choices.
Just wanted something to make my nightly flashing easier, but not make too many changes to CM6
Just flash this after the nightly in place of the gapps zip!
Includes all updated Google apps from Cyanogenmod downloads section.
CM6-Snap-4.1 Kernel (thanks jmxp69!!!)
Facebook sync fix
Market fix
Added SetCPU2.01
Removed Twitter (added install in SD)
Will create a folder on your SD card that includes the following:
(just install these with your favorite file explorer)
Swype (standard theme)
Swype Cyan themed
Swype Red (droid) Theme
Swiftkey
HTC IME (Sense) Keyboard (Install both files)
Chrome To Phone
Fancy Widget
Skype Lite Beta 1.0.0.5
Twitter

watch out for including gapps

Do you if the cyan swype is only for CM6 or can i use it in other froyo roms

No you can just flash this once seeing how there is no need to wipe before installing nightly...Remember to do a nand back up before installing
Just a heads up, I would remove the SetCPU from that package because coolbho doesn't like people including it in things, he only likes straight downloads from the market or his own thread. I'm sure he will be in here soon... like I said just a heads up.
The is pretty sweet, thanks!
prob a stupid question but would this work on the cyan rc1

[ROM] GingerFroyo 1.0 (2012-01-14)

GingerFroyo 1.0This is only a themed ROM! OkHi guys! Here I am with this Froyo ROM
Because I'm not happy with Gingerbread ROMS (Feel slow to me compared with Froyo) I decided to "port" this theme to this ROM and put this Bootanimation, the result: GingerFroyo
I'm not a dev ok, I just bareboned, optimize some apks and themed NameLessFroyo because I like very much this ROM it's smooth and stable, and I like how Gingerbread looks.
I also bareboned tiny gapps because I don't need a lot of things and we can download from market (Gmail, Maps, Search...). If you need youtube and don't see it in market you can download from here. Please read NameLessFroyo Thread for Overview.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Update!
Some people don't like CM based roms so I decide to "port" this theme to a AOSP based rom (DREAMteam Froyo v1.9.1)
This is an extremely barebones rom just includes basics apks ok (No youtube, gmail, maps, etc.) also removed almost all of ringtones, notifications, alarms, fonts...
If you use Custom MTD:
system: 63 (with my gapps, don't know with different gapps)
cache: 2
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Update!
-Optimized apk's
-Added all fonts (Some apps didn't showed correctly some chars)
-Changed some notification bar colors (now looks more like gingerbread)
-Added 32m of VM Heap Size to default
-Reverted 160 for dpi (didn't showed some apps on market with 150 dpi)
-Changed dial pad (now looks like gingerbread)
-Added latest superuser and su binary
-Added latest android terminal emulator

welcome to the world of "cooking" !!!!
I've updated the OP with a link to a text document containing a very thorough list of what has been removed from the stock ROM for my build, for those that are curious.
And thanks for the comments brad and CTB.
Yeah, I wonder why you didn't make a thread, but after that u created it, awesome!

Good luck! It should work without issue. For all intents and purposes this is the stock ROM minus all the bloat.
I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have.
anything you need / questions let me know man.

Google Search and its widget are both fully removed from this ROM, so inherently that would be the cause of the problem.
Glad to hear it flashed without problem tho. Thanks for trying it out!
kudos again checkin memory usage, its only at 146mb used and 237mb free. Again awesome job. Quick question, did you remove CIQ process?

Stock that is included with 4.54.651.1 RUU. Freedom should work great with it though.
Hey bud. Thanks for putting this out. Primarily you're removal/change log. Helps me reverse engineer the changes ... lol
Awesome rom you deleted everything that I do when flashing a sense rom. Except Facebook so I deleted it haha. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comment guys, glad this ROM can help.
I did not remove HtcFacebook.apk because it is used solely for sync purposes and is part of the framework; built into certain menus.
HTC's version of the facebook app is FriendStream, which I have removed. And of course I removed the actual Facebook.apk app.
I just wanted to clarify this for others that may read through this thread.
Further reading for anyone that's curious about this kind of thing:
HtcFacebook.apk, Flickr.apk, and SocialNetworkProvider.apk are all aquainted. The first two are used for syncing purposes; photos, contacts, etc. The latter is the provider. These are not actual "apps" persay, but are ingrained into the OS. For instance, go into the Gallery, tap menu, and select settings. Notice "Facebook" and "Flickr" in there? Removing the three APKs above will NOT remove these options from the settings menu. It's in the framework.
That is not to say however that it not safe to remove those APKs. It is in-fact safe to remove them. Many people do without consequence. I personally prefer to leave them intact. They are dormant unless you use them to sync with those services. And because they are so tiny their impact on your available internal storage is nill.
Thanks for this Misery, I saw your post in Brad's thread about your battery life and decided I HAVE to flash this bad boy.

Yes this little guy is AMAZING on battery life. Not to mention the remarkable stability and smooth operation.
For instance I'm currently roughly at 50% battery left while on the battery 1d 12+ hrs. I've had calls, lots of texting, a little gaming, web browsing, listened to music, lots of stuff on this charge alone.
My current Up Time is 130 hrs 28+ mins. Up time being since the last time I rebooted. Not a single hiccup. I love this build.
I can imagine battery life would only get better with a kernel like Freedom and underclocking to around 800MHz. Only reason I haven't done so is because I have zero complaints about the performance of the stock kernel. One of those "if it's not broken, don't fix it" things lol.
This sounds like the sense rom I've always wanted. With that kind of battery life.... downloading now.
Sent from my Evo4g
Thanks for releasing this! Im downloading now and will let you know...thanks again!
