Good luck! It should work without issue. For all intents and purposes this is the stock ROM minus all the bloat.
I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have.

anything you need / questions let me know man.

Google Search and its widget are both fully removed from this ROM, so inherently that would be the cause of the problem.
Glad to hear it flashed without problem tho. Thanks for trying it out!

kudos again checkin memory usage, its only at 146mb used and 237mb free. Again awesome job. Quick question, did you remove CIQ process?

Stock that is included with 4.54.651.1 RUU. Freedom should work great with it though.

Hey bud. Thanks for putting this out. Primarily you're removal/change log. Helps me reverse engineer the changes ... lol

Awesome rom you deleted everything that I do when flashing a sense rom. Except Facebook so I deleted it haha. Keep up the good work!
Sent From my Verizon powered Evo 4G!

Thanks for the comment guys, glad this ROM can help.
I did not remove HtcFacebook.apk because it is used solely for sync purposes and is part of the framework; built into certain menus.
HTC's version of the facebook app is FriendStream, which I have removed. And of course I removed the actual Facebook.apk app.
I just wanted to clarify this for others that may read through this thread.
Further reading for anyone that's curious about this kind of thing:
HtcFacebook.apk, Flickr.apk, and SocialNetworkProvider.apk are all aquainted. The first two are used for syncing purposes; photos, contacts, etc. The latter is the provider. These are not actual "apps" persay, but are ingrained into the OS. For instance, go into the Gallery, tap menu, and select settings. Notice "Facebook" and "Flickr" in there? Removing the three APKs above will NOT remove these options from the settings menu. It's in the framework.
That is not to say however that it not safe to remove those APKs. It is in-fact safe to remove them. Many people do without consequence. I personally prefer to leave them intact. They are dormant unless you use them to sync with those services. And because they are so tiny their impact on your available internal storage is nill.

Thanks for this Misery, I saw your post in Brad's thread about your battery life and decided I HAVE to flash this bad boy.

Yes this little guy is AMAZING on battery life. Not to mention the remarkable stability and smooth operation.
For instance I'm currently roughly at 50% battery left while on the battery 1d 12+ hrs. I've had calls, lots of texting, a little gaming, web browsing, listened to music, lots of stuff on this charge alone.
My current Up Time is 130 hrs 28+ mins. Up time being since the last time I rebooted. Not a single hiccup. I love this build.
I can imagine battery life would only get better with a kernel like Freedom and underclocking to around 800MHz. Only reason I haven't done so is because I have zero complaints about the performance of the stock kernel. One of those "if it's not broken, don't fix it" things lol.

This sounds like the sense rom I've always wanted. With that kind of battery life.... downloading now.

Thanks for releasing this! Im downloading now and will let you know...thanks again!

[ROM] Stock 2.2 ROM with extras

Hi all
Please find my first ROM on the forum
This rom is build on WWE 2.10.405.2 and its almost stock except some changes on top:
- rooted
- busybox
- deodexed
- zipaligned
- task kill tweak
- old but good a2sd with dalvik cache on sd
you can download rom from Here - HF or Here - RS
I am playing with the rom for some time and I find it stable and neat, hope you enjoy
what is "task kill tweak"?

better memory management forced by system to kill inactive apps so no task manager app is needed
Some mirrors to such sites such as Mediafire, Rapidshare that don't force waits, supports RESUMING a d/l would be greatly appreciated. Hotfile has a way of timing out midway through a d/l and then you can't resume. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'm looking for a rooted stock that is deo-dexed and this is it.

Hmmm, this sounds almost exactly like Pinkolins ROM which maturates some time now. So what's the difference of your ROM that makes it worth trying?
I'd say you must be looking for something in a ROM, specific to your needs. Try comparing CHANGE LOGS between the 2 ROMs and you'll see but it all comes down to personal preference, IMHO.
EDIT: I forgot to ask, AdFree works OK in this ROM?
That was quick, thanks for the mirror!

[ROM-AOSP GRJ22 2.3.4] DevNull-1.0.3 (100% clean and 100% stock Android, 48mb)

What is this ROM?
It's a personal ROM that has been made and developed by myself, _thalamus and schiznik. This is stock Android 2.3.4 R1 aka GRJ22, there is no dirty hacks or trickery and we really have tried to keep as close to stock Android without modifying it too much whilst gaining maximum compatibility for the HTC Desire.
What mods are in this ROM?
Well as we wanted to keep this ROM as close to stock as possible we didn't include many modifications to the actual framework and or applications, a list of what we did include is listed below,
Adhoc wifi support
Fix for LED notifications
Fix for switching between wifi & 3g
Minimal google apps
Superuser
There are also quite a number of other minor tweaks and enhancements we have made to the build system.
Did you remove anything?
Foreign languages
Live wallpapers
Protips
Obvious things you won't find in this ROM...
Things we didn't want was FMRadio, busybox and A2SD support
What makes this ROM special?
This ROM is NOT de-odexed that means that upon your initial install of this ROM, it will not use much of the available space in the /data partition, recommended HBOOTs are CM and Oxygen, this also makes your initial boot much faster reduces memory usage and gives you a nice fast user experience.
Notes
This is a personal ROM, if you don't like it then don't use it, we are not accepting feature requests PERIOD!
Kernel source is available here for the moaning myrtles
**A full wipe is 100% needed coming from any other ROM**
Where can I download this ROM?

[ROM] midNIGHT ROM v5.2(BYOR Edition) Journaling ON RFS/EXT4 4/10/2011

Hey Everyone,
I need some help and you guys are just the people to do it. As you all know Autism Awareness is something very near and dear to my heart. In my never ending quest (in my newly discovered free time) to help spread awareness I listed my blog on a site called Picket Fence Blogs. VERY popular site. I need votes to keep me towards the top of the list. There aren't many Autism related blogs listed here and the more votes I get the more people will read my story and the more Autism Awareness is spread.
All you have to do is click this link. http://picketfenceblogs.com/vote/3616
When you click it you are voting for my Lost and Tired blog. It will tell you that you just voted for me. You can vote once a day. You can also vote from your vote as well (as it's a different IP address). Please feel free to share the link as you see fit. I don't get anything for ranking on this site accept sharing my story with more people.
Anyway, I would really appreciate your continued support for this cause. I'm trying to occupy my time since I haven't flashed a ROM is 2 days 23 hrs and 17 minutes...twitch...twitch
I would like to thank everyone for all the support I have received over the months I have been developing this ROM. Thank you all for taking on the challenge or spreading Autism Awareness. I can't explain what your support means to myself and my family.
Unfortunately, I'm announcing the end of the development for the midNIGHT ROM. It has become necessary to auction my Epic on ebay. I just got it replaced and haven't even activate it yet. My goal is to hopefully get enough to get our van fixed....again. We have MANY appointments and therapies for both my wife and kids that are out of town and on hold until I get the van back up and running. Emmett's speech therapy has been cut in half by insurance. His specialists have been trying to get him in 2 times a week as he has mod to severe language ad speech impairment. Now they won't even cover 3 times a month.
While I wish there was another way I feel good about being able to at least do this. I hope to still contribute to this community and really hope to be back at it at some point in the near future.
Thanks again to EVERYONE for ALL the support for both this ROM and most importantly Autism.
I want to say a special THANK YOU to ALL my testers. You have been AWESOME.
Thanks to the Bonsai team for everything and especially Randy for all his help and guidance.
Thanks to k0nane for being...well..k0nane. Thanks for being SO supportive and such a great example to this community.
If anyone is in the market for an Epic 4G. Check out my auction here. I have listed a BUY IT NOW price with a TON of EXTRAS. I'm also donating 10% of whatever I get to Northeast Ohio Autism Group.
Thanks again for everything and I'll be in touch. You can follow me at www.lostandtired.com. I may have some pretty big news in the near future. You can also follow me on twitter @lost_and_tired as well as @midnight_rom (for future announcements)

Noob question, what's the benefit of journaling?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Do some searches, and theres plenty on Journaling, or rather, the advantages of NO Jounaling. Basically, and someone correct me if I am wrong, Journaling is writing back data to cache so that if say your battery is removed, your phone locks up, you lose data. Its not the end of the world, but can be a pain in the ass some times. So basically, it comes down to personal preference, whether you want a little more speed from no journaling, or stability from having it. Honestly, in my experience, this has been a more noticeable issue that RFS vs. EXT4, although I think the option would be awesome too. It would be interesting to see, with a good base (hopefully EC05 turns out to be this) just how well a super with RFS would be...
Anyways, thanks again Rob, for working on this, if its not too hard to make these options available, it just takes your awesome BYOR that much farther...
ROM released. Blog and OP updated.
Great job Rob! Thank you. I greatly appreciate this.

Hi ptfdmedic! Great rom. I've been using it since v3. I was curious, though, if you could point me towards the source for the kernel you're using. I'd like to apply the patch I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975611
in order to help alleviate my fast-typer issues. Any insight on how I can go about getting the source to recompile the kernel on my own? I don't want to make more work for you, so I'm willing to do so and give you the results, incase you want to offer both.

The kernel is bonsai. I didn't compile it. Visit www.bonsaigeek.com and I'm sure Randy would be able to point you in the right direction. I believe the kernel itself already has the patch applied.
Guys let me clarify this. The kernel is the bonsai kernel will the bonsai tweaks applied, NCIQ, Camera lag and keyboard fix but not the configurable one. What. Did was remove everything that was happening during the flash. This stopped the journaling from being turned off and the file system from being forced to EXT4.

Some of the options you've incorporated may attract a lot of users.
x99 Kernel
DT A2SD
Circle Battery Mod
Deodexed (Themers will love you!)
Great presentation! Especially for a first release. If you ever want a beta tester, anything at all: feel free to pm me!
smooth
EDIT: Don't know how mods are being these days, but might wanna add a [GPL] tag to the front of your Thread and link to x99's github for source in the bottom of OP. You know how these people are... meddling with unreleased source!
Welcome. Its nice to see some fresh blood in the shift forum. Kind through me off when i saw this thread. Lol hadnt seen a new one in awhile. I will be downloading and testing very soon. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the support & insight. Like I said in the OP, I'm totally new to this, so all feedback & direction is welcome. I was a Hero user too, so I was spoiled with all of the ROM/Theme/Mod choices. So I decided to give it a try. 1000 boot loops later, I have something to work with, LOL
I'm also somewhat new here, I've been on PPCGeeks with my TP2 for a while but not much going on with this device there. but this looks great, can't wait to try it out
Trying out now....
Just realized I didn't have the updater script extract the removed apps to the SD card . Will put up a revised link shortly.
Also, to everyone trying out, let me know how the market is working for you. I updated to the new version before I created the zip, and it seems kind of buggy to me.
Thanks all.

Thanks bro. I'm not familiar with that program. I usually use Titanium, or Root Explorer. I'll look into that though. What kind of error does it give you when you try to uninstall?
