I have downloaded the new Qik and restarted and now it will not let me log in says that I am not connected to the network. I am connected to 3g and have tried on wifi as well, uninstalled and reinstalled as well as rebooted..... ahhhhh
I had the same problem until I accepted the OTA update and now it works just fine. Don't worry about root not being possible after the update because unrevoked.apk works with or without the OTA update.
If your not getting the OTA sent to you do this.
Menu - Settings - System Updates - HTC software update
Hope that helps
So after a FULL DAY WITHOUT QIK ON THE MARKET PLACE, I find "Qik Video" on there this morning and its doing the same thing as the preinstalled (that never updated btw).
Keeps telling me I don't have internet access.. pfft.

Click to collapse
this is because every evo owner in the US is killing QIK's server if you wait and be patient you can eventually log in. now the app is kinda weak the video chat is similar to PTT. the person that initiates the call may talk freely while the other user has to push the talk button to speak. Skype on fring will be awesome until skype releases their own app later this year
Qik not workin
Hi everyone! Well just to report that qik is not really working, yesterday when I got my EVO the bestbuy employe set it up for me and it worked but later on when I tried to open the app again, it didn't work. I did update the my evo but still it doesn't work. I'm starting to believe that it may be bugs or something, what do you guys think?
well i also had some troubles with qik...... force closes everywhere.......it will work and then it doesn't.
The only thing i found to do is clear data then it works but I thought it did video chat I knew it was going to stink
...I also have not done the OTA yet....
Was having problems with it too! Did the lastest update and could log in after, oh about 20 times. BUT I lost the ability for video chat! Dont update if you want to keep video chat! The blue one has video and the orange does not! Anyone got the blue Qik apk?
choose contact number
Here's my deal with it. When I choose a contact to whom I want to send a video qik picks the wrong number and there's no way to select another number or email addy from the contact card. This alone makes the app 90% useless for me. I went to their support forum and its a mess. Anybody here have a solution for this?
here's the blue app
after installing, reboot your device and it should show up
enjoy
will this cause 2 icons one blue one orange or will it update the orange as they intended?
I have the blue one but neither I or my friends can figure out how to video chat with it. Qik = horrible fail.
okay so i installed the blue Qik app.. it worked over Wifi... freezes on 3g. .. 4G is spotty for me.. i barely get 1 bar if i even do get it... but it works.. only issue. it FC's when you try and sync with twitter.. and also facebook sync doesnt seem to work.. keeps asking me to go to the browser.. which i have.. but is still telling me that... anyone has this issue resolved?
Hey I have searched the forum and so far I have yet to find a solution to my problem. I have the Droid RAZR Maxx HD running on Jellybean. I am not sure if the problem was present before I upgraded to Jellybean.
I don't use video chat very often, but sometimes it comes in handy. Especially handy when you're troubleshooting something remotely. Ok I have tried Tango, Skype, Fring, ooVoo, Google Talk video, and Facebook video. Each one of them seem to do something different. Tango will dial the other person up and start my camera, but it will never let us connect. When I attempt to hang up a Tango call all it does is turn the green light off under the video camera icon, and the video camera stays on. I have to press the home button and force close the app. Skype will just force close if I attempt a video call as will Google+. The ooVoo app allows the video to work fine on both ends but we have zero audio and I've been unsuccessful finding anything in settings to change that. The Fring app let's the other person see me (they were on a Samsung Galaxy Note II), and we can hear each other. I can only see my own camera on my screen, though. So far ooVoo and Fring seem to be the closest to being working apps for me, but they still are not functional enough to be of any use. I contacted Verizon about this on the phone twice and visited the store once. The guy on the phone this morning said that it was likely something with the jellybean upgrade. The guy at the store last night said his works fine with the same kind of phone, but I'm not sure about that personally because I never saw him get it to work. The only phone he tried to initiate a video call with was mine. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out how to get around this. By the way, I also tried clearing the cache and the data for Tango and uninstalling, installed an older version of Tango from Google, but that only force closed. Please let me know if you need more information to help solve this issue, and thanks in advance.
Anyone ? ? ?

Hey so is anybody using Facebook Messenger as their default SMS app now? I really like the chat heads feature and the general look of the App instead of the default texting app or any of the others I've tried from the Play Store.
FM seems to be really slow about downloading new text messages sometimes. I use MightyText to sync my texts with my computer and tablet and most of the time the texts appear on the computer or tablet before my phone gets them. When this happens and the app is lagging, any text messages i try to send will fail and it won't tell me until i restart the phone. Maybe MightyText is screwing it up? I have no clue. The weirdest thing is other times FM will work flawlessly for a few hours...but then it screws itself and starts this nonsense again.
i can't imagine i'm the only person having these issues...but the app has insanely positive reviews all over the internet. I turned off notifications on the default messaging app. When i try to open that app to see if the texts are being downloaded there it freezes and lags horribly.
stock up to date Galaxy S3 on Verizon...no root.
any help is appreciated. thanks.
Hopefully you'll still catch this thread. I have the same issue. At first texts would just lag, and then eventually they stopped coming in all together b/c of FB Messenger. Switching back to the stock sms and restarting the phone would fix the issues temporarily. And then suddenly, even that had no effect.
I finally had to switch to Handcent SMS to get things working again. Pretty annoying, as I much preferred the speed and fluidity of both the stock app and FB Messenger over Handcent... How did you fix your issue? Hard reset?

Hi all, I have a problem with skype and notifications on facebook. If i use a sense rom (seb 1.0.2) They work perfectly and skype logs in straight away. If I use the same apps with cm10.2 etc. Skype does not log in and i get no notifications from fb? Any ideas I want to go back to asop but need skype working.
Not one idea? Come on folks I can't be the only person this has happened too.
Hello everyone,
I've been having these issues with the latest version of Skype for quite a while and I'm not sure what appears to be causing them. Whenever I have a video conversation on Skype, the video stream tends to stop after a certain period of time and the only solution I've found so far is to close Skype and relaunch it. Also, sometimes Skype rings for a couple of minutes until I'm able to successfully establish a connection with the person I'm trying to call. I don't know if it's because Skype hasn't been very well optimized for KitKat version 4.4.2, but I suspect the camera mod that I have might be causing this. Do you think this is possible? Or do you have any other ideas?
