Hey everyone,
Just today i've gotten into custom ROMS and flashing my kernel however ever since I installed ClockWorkMod Recovery using RomManager, I would have my phone in portrait and everything on the screen would be in landscape. As soon as i turn the phone landscape it flips back to portrait. I just want the phone to go back to switching to landscape view when i turn it that way, this is very frustrating! Can anyone seem to help me out here?
Flash a rom

Well I'm flashed on BGaxe Ex 1.5.1 on the faux kernel. It's a modified version of t-mobiles GB tw build with ics visuals but the developer says it's completely compatible with the skyrocket

You flashed this before or after you had the rotation problem? If after, did it resolve the problem?
If before, then you need to apply the Skyrocket/Hercules patch or you'll get rotation issues like you're getting now.

you have the wrong kernel on your phone put on a skyrocket kernel and your problem will go away
u have a Hercules rom. search the Dev section for a kernel, I recommended faux or Dagger, and flash in CWM. then that probably will go away

I'm running Xboarders AOSP/CM7 Hybrid v1.3.1 w/Bricks latest CM7 Alpha Kernel, Mighty fast combination w/6000+ Quadrant @1720ghz... but today I changed the kernel to the new bricked AOSP Kernel everything was running smooth 'till I took a picture and I could not make the flash work, but however the LED is working with the torch APP, can anyone confirm this... I tried wiping & reinstalling, after trying this I dont want to go back to sense this is just too much.

Looking for a good stable rom without all the issues... looking for performance tweaks and if debloated a list of what is taken out..
A pre rooted 2.3.6 rom is available with the tmobile build prop. But that will be changed to the skyrocket build prop shortly. U can also download da g's overclock kernel

no sir i do not but if you know how to odin the stock tar just incase... you can download then do a nandroid backup.....and flash it. up to you if you want to try it, if you do report your reasults so other rogers users will know
What exactly is in this Rom?
2.3.6 stock rooted
I've been running twopumpchump's TPC Rogers Stock ROM for AT&T along with the Da_G kernel 3.0 final for the last 24 hours without a single problem. I have not tested *everything* yet, but so far it's been super stable.
I used ROM Toolbox to overclock to 1782 at the same time. No crashes or anything.
Just the normal nagging issues that were present on the stock ROM + kernel. So it didn't fix anything. It just made everything faster.
Only issue is the Canadian celcius, KPH settings and the Rogers power-off animation. Which should be fixed in the next revision per twopumpchump (a board moderator).
Quadrank = 4500+ three out of seven tries.
Alien ROM kicked my ass pretty bad. Not sure why it's still available to download.
But it's a heck of a good primer into learning to fix your ****.
Terribly sorry but the search function is not working for me right now and I'd rather get this sorted today. I am completely new to this game and just installed Jellywiz.
I use SetCPU to overclock, and previously on the stock rom when I flashed Invisiblek V2 Kernel in EZ-Recovery, it allowed me to OC to 1.8Ghz in SetCPU.
Unfortunately now with Jellywiz installed, when I flash Invisiblek in EZ-Recovery and hit reboot recovery the screen stays dark, blue light stays on, and the phone just vibrates in these intervals.
My device is an SCH1535, what can I do to overcome this?

Sounds like your trying to flash TW kernel on JB rom. No bueno. lol Will most likely have to Odin back to stock and start over.

So why is it a bad idea to flash TW kernel on JB rom? Is it because it's made for ICS? What would starting over fix?
I just want to be able to get SetCPU to allow me to OC to 1.8Ghz, and the only way I knew how to before was flashing to Invisiblek in EZ-Recovery.
Just reflash jellywiz. And yeah it's JB and not ICS, their not compatible apparently.

Okay so it's a compatibility issue. So how would reflashing help?

Kernels are touchy things, and on the GS3 they are definitely tied to the base ROM you're running. An ICS-based kernel won't work (or boot) on a JB ROM. Until Dan ("invisiblek") gets his hands on the source-code for the kernel, we're all SOL for overclocking using what we're used to.
I've seen/heard that the KT747 kernel will work on the VZW I535 with JB, but I've yet to prove it myself. It boots, but it comes up with nothing but lameness, so I had to put it down and reflash my BOOT.IMG using CWM "Advanced" mode restore so I just grabbed the kernel out of the backup and not God and his dog and everything in between.
Why are you flashing through EZ recovery???? I'd say flash through normal recovery. Why take the beaten path?
Again, another example of somebody making their life tougher.

where the hell is it? im getting so fustrated and i can not find it anywhere. everytime i look for it, it shows the one if u want a skyrocket rom on your t989(hercules). really fustrating. any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't believe we need one for their ROMs, just a reflash of a skyrocket based kernel over the according ROM is all

That's what I thought but I used a liquid smooth ROM and every time u go on the net or in an app! If u hold it strait it will turn to the right and if u turn it to the right it will go strait. Weird cause now I'm on aokp unofficial from t989 and everything works fine.
But I really wanted to be on liquid smooth by android88. I've had other ROMs with that same issue...
Sometimes it needs more than just a kernel. If you put the lib "lib.akm " into system/libs, that should fix the rotate issue. Be sure to fix permissions.

Also video maybe borked when rotated. But naturally I forgot how to fix that.
Hello Everyone,
For the better part of the past 6 months I have rooted my phone and tried multiple roms trying to find one that I like. I think I have found one in ViperTouch 2.1.4 however I am having a minor issue with it. The WiFi keeps dropping in and out and is pretty much unusable.
I rooted my device with Clockworkmod and installed CM7, CM10 and Dark Unicorn Resurrected roms and then finally just last week moved to ViperTouch. To do the install I simply downloaded ViperTouch 2.1.3 and update to 2.1.4. Then I booted into clockworkmod and used a wipe script I had from previous installs to wipe everything, rebooted into recovery again and installed ViperTouch. Once it booted up I updated to version 2.1.4 by going into the recovery again. Doing this I had 2 active issues namely, screen flickering and WiFi connectivity. So I downloaded kernel 3.0.57 (cheng) and installed it.
I am not worried about the screen flicker but I would like to get my WiFi working on a normal basis. I have searched the forums and seen that many of them installed the kernel again and WiFi was back to normal but it hasn't worked for me when I went from kernel 3.0.40 to 3.0.57.
Any ideas to get this working are truly appreciated.
Thanks

I have some kernels (They aren't mine), should I upload them, and you can mess around and see which ones you like? I also have a Trackpad wake for sense roms, I found that around in the forums too.

I already did the Trackpad wake as part of the new install. I would be glad to play with more kernels. You can either upload them or send me links, whichever option works best for you.
Thanks

Just to update anyone who is viewing this thread, I don't believe the Wi-Fi issues have anything to do with ViperTouch.
I tried different Kernels (3.0.4, 3.0.39, 3.0.57, 3.0.66 and 3.0.69) but they all had the same issue of Wi-Fi dropping all day long. So I wiped the device back to ViperTouch 2.1.3 and the issue continued. Next step I reverted back to the stock app and it doesn't even connect to my Wi-Fi (other devices do). So I guess my HTC Glacier MyTouch 4g is dead when it comes to Wi-Fi.

Naa man, you shouldn't say that. Try AOSP roms, they work perfectly fine. Coderzs SlimBean (4.2.2) is a good one! Or you could try Synthetic.Nighmare's AOSP (4.0.4), I can't find any bugs in Synthetic's AOSP rom.

Dude you are amazing. I had tried out Dark Unicorn Resurrected and today after you mentioned Coderzs SlimBean I tried that one out too. They are both very similar since they are both based on AOSP but it surely fixed my WiFi problem.
Do you know of a music player that is similar to HTC Sense Music player where it has a nice full screen widget and is also available on lockscreen? I have tried out Terra Music Player but it falls just short of HTC.
Thanks again!

If you don't mind spending some money I recommend PowerAmp. Its the best music player I have ever used (And trust me I've used a lot). The equalizer paired with DSP manager = best sound ever lol. And I do think it has an widget.
Other players that are free are Apollo, and that comes built in; in a lot of roms.
