its been saying this all night now and am at my wits end with it
anyone help please

Ste

Have you, perchance, checked the HD2-specific section of this forum? You're running a custom build of an OS that's not supposed to have custom builds on hardware that isn't supposed to run the OS, so some problems are expected. This isn't the best place to get them fixed, though - most people on this part of the site have official WP7 devices. Try the HD2 forums, especially the thread for the ROM you're using.

Yes, you should definitely be in the HD2 forums.
Having done a lot with my HD2 before I bought the Lumia, I can tell you that it matters to know what ROM you're using. Are you able to buy apps via Zune or the windowsphone website?
Have you tried a hard reset?
I used the Back to the Future ROM and only had issues with the marketplace once out of about 12 installs. That issue was related to my liveid and not what you're experiencing at all.

Thanks will look into it

Can Windows Mobile 6 be loaded on the Motorola Q?

Hey guys,
Sorry if this was posted somewhere before, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out what needs to be done if anything to install the Windows Mobile 6 onto my Motorola Q.
I understand that the original Q may not support WM6 out of the box, and I'm kind of new to hacked/burned ROMs to replace the standard stuff on these phones, however I've managed to pick up 2 different Pre-release versions of WM6, and I attempt to run them, but I get a bad contry code error or that the ROM isn't compatible.
Is there anything I can do as far as using a 'modified' ROM to make this work? I'd like to get WM6 onto this unit if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Tech
Do a google search. Really, no one can explain the whole thing in such a way you can fully understand.
Like you forgot to mention what versions of WM6 you got. Where they smartphone or WMPC? Which gadget where they made for? What is the exact error?
Also, I take it that you are in fact new, since this is a generally HTC website.
You could be better served at a Motorola Q forum.

New HTC Fuze Official ROM Released

I didn't see any news about this here so... It seams like HTC has released an update for the AT&T Fuze. According to the HTC Support site, here's what's included:
Microsoft's Windows Mobile Adaptation Kit Update (AKU) 1.4.6
Slide to Answer
Push To Talk Button is now re-assignable
FM Radio Application
Enhanced MS Voice Command
Call waiting indicator is now audible when using Speakerphone
HTC Music player supports Album art/info
Improved TouchFlo3D (TF3D) and User Interface performance
A-GPS Update: Speeds up the time it takes the GPS to get a fix on your location
Quick GPS is still recommended for the optimal operation of GPS based applications and services
The update can be found here.
But... what does it take to actually download it? I have a 3-month old Fuze in the US, but when I plug in my S/N - it says that it isn't for my Fuze?

I have the same issue. Tried it twice. Any ideas?
Same here. I just got through sending HTC an email about it. My fuze is only about 2 weeks old.
Same Problem -
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."
The phone is less than a year old and it makes me want to reach for an iPhone.

Looks like someone called HTC and was told it would not be up until 12:01 EST. however it is after that now. Guess I will try again after midnight pacific.

It's obvious you're a closet IPhone lover. Quit denying yourself the pleasure of not having to post here ever again.... Go buy an Iphone... go go go go!
just a question
i jst updated my rom with a rom from this site will this new rom from htc work? and will it return my phone back to the factory settings? cuz this new rom from raphael the fuzeberry is awsome
Still saying not for my device
Oh well, hopefully later today
This is the response I got from HTC.
"Hello Shannon, Thank you for your inquiry about the HTC Fuze. We would be happy to assist you with that information. However, we are experiencing an issue in the download of the update for the Fuze. We are aware of the issues and do apologize for the inconveniences. We are working on getting the issue resolved at the current time. We do ask that you allow 24 hrs and then retry to download the software. If after the 24 hr period you are still experiencing issues in downloading the software then please let us know. Again we do apologize for the inconveniences and appreciate your patience in resolving this issue. Shannon, I hope we have answered your question in detail. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. HTC Technical Support http://www.htc.com http://www.htcwiki.com."
Can't download Official ROM either
I have a FUZE I purchased in February, same issue with not accepting my S/N. I know I will be a candidate for the new ROM so hopefully, the issue as described above from HTC support will prove to be accurate and we can download in a relative short time. I am really excited to try this new Official ROM as I am not comfortable flashing the ROM's that are available otherwise. I just don't have enough technical background to feel like I can do it without the real risk of bricking my FUZE.
HTC Fuze support site is down...
For now, they are probably fixing the issue with the S/N error because the support sub-site for the HTC Fuze is down.
why would you guys want a rom that weve had the updates for months? and 6.5 is already working great for us plus without all the att junk?

I concur! There really is no reason to downgrade to this rom....

It could have some updated drivers and it looks like it has a new radio in it. That's the main benefit of getting this.
I wouldn't downgrade to 6.1, even if it has "new stuff"....won't take the cooks very long to extract any new stuff, and add it to the 6.5 roms

I agree, that's what I meant by my post...once someone gets their hands on it and can extract the goodies
Well, this ROM is appreciated regardless
I think custom ROMs are sweet, and I am a big fan of 6.5. But, I personally kinda like official releases, despite 6.1 and the AT&T crapware. I'll probably end up installing a 6.5 rom anyway if AT&T doesn't make one, or if AT&T's really sucks. Besides, I am overloaded with MS betas on my PC and phone.
Does anyone know when it will be downloadable again? The link seems to be down again or is there another place to find it?
If this allows the MS voice command to say the name of the caller, then I'm all for this update.

[Q] Need info and advice

First I'd like to say I don't think this is the right place for my question but I cant post where I think it should go so hopefully somebody here can help me.
I want to put custom rom onto my nokia lumia 710 but dont know which would be the best on to use I've seen three so far in my looking around the site the RainbowMod, metro^7 rom, Lumiatrix 4.2 ROM. I like the look of the RainbowMod from the video on youtube that I'm not aloud to link, but I want to know from somebody that has experience with custom roms to give me some advice on which one to go for. I haven't unlocked my phone yet plan on doing this to night or tomorrow when ever I get some time to sit and do it without been called away in the middle of doing it.
Also from the look of the video I linked it looks like you can install apps from different marketplaces is this right and if it is can this be done with all custom roms???
Any other advice you can give me or links to the best tuts on each step so I don't follow a sub par tut by not knowing the best place to look for one.
Thanks in advance
Pacina
Can nobody here give me any advice I was told this was the best site for this type of thing:laugh: I'm guessing not
So basically even the old HD2 has WM7 Roms and I tried all of them.
You are right with a custom ROM you can download everywhere else too, some Roms are unlocked already and your windows nokia 710 will be just great.
First of all a backup off your stuff will be good because you will lose everything on your phone then.
And I think you will need the activation key for your phone again after that.

[Q] Getting a samsung focus. How I do I get started with ROM'ing and homebrew?

Hi, a friend of mine upgraded his phone today (Samsung Focus) and got a Lumia 920. I've never used windows phone before and have always been an android user, but I'm getting frustrated to say the least with it, and there are alot of features on android that I simply don't need, and I need a smooth and stable new OS to tinker with. So my friend recommended I atleast give WP7 a try and I'm buying it from him tommorow. I'm extremely excited to try out this beautiful OS, and being the tinkering kind of person, I want to start messing with it as soon as I get my hands on it.
My question is, how do I get started? The phone is already on 7.8 and jailbroken, atleast according to my friend. I want to know what are the advantages of a ROM on windows phone, how do I install the ROM, how do I recover from any mishaps (bricks, etc.) and the sort.
Also, I eventually wanted to test out homebrew and all, but maybe it's just me, but WP7 doesn't seem to be very Mac friendly (and my only computer, a macbook can't upgrade to 10.7, which Zune is available for...). So anyway to install home-brew without the use of a computer?
Thanks for the help, guys! I can't wait!
For the homebrew thing, you could just dualboot windows and OS X? Than you can just use windows for windows phone. As for the other thing I don't think there are roms for the focus (it's a us version of the international omnia w right?)

It's the at&t one, unlocked, jailbroken and on 7.8...
So all the roms in the development section of the Focus are for the Omnia W??
as for dual booting, I guess I could, but I'd rather keep that as a last resort. Do I have no other option?
Don't know anything about macs so I don't know, just threw it out there as an option. And the focus has it's own section? Didn't know that, guess they should work then.

How do I go about flashing it...on a mac? Or do I need a windows? If so, how do I flash on windows?
Also, for the apps, I guess this Xap Handler program seems to do the trick without requiring a computer, how do I get that on my phone?
I'm sorry you'll have to wait for someone else for that. The only windows phone device that I have is the omnia W which doesn't have any custom roms as far as I know of (and I haven't felt the need either since 7.8 stock is good enough for me)
By the way on Linux my omnia W is recognized as any other USB device so I can just drag and drop files there. On windows you are forced to use zune. Maybe it works the same on mac as on Linux? Than that problem would be solved I guess.

Don't quote me on this but the only way I think you can fully brick a phone is by installing the wrong rev version rom..
Install CleanRom 3.10a here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528984
If you have a Rom installed which supports apps to be installed from inside the browser you should be able to install apps without a PC.
I have to say Im 17 and I have bricked my phone atleast 3 times by messing with the registry and I UNBRICKED IT EVERYTIME AND IS STILL FULLY FUNCTIONAL up to this day. All you have to do is backup and reflash the ROM if the phone is bricked. THERE ARE 2 VERSIONS OF SAMSUNG FOCUS.. 1.3 AND 1.4 . FLASHING THE ROM FOR THE WRONG VERSION WILL CAUSE A PERMANENT BRICK FOR WHICH IT CANT BE RECOVERED..
Some Tips:
1. Before reflashing always have atleast 60% battery
2. Check your version of focus under the battery

[Q] Lumia 920 RM-820 (WP8.1) - Mic does not work EXCEPT for phone, downgrade to 8?

Hi, I have done a lot of research and not found an answer.
I have a Nokia Lumia 920 RM-820 (Product code 059N5T3, AT&T, USA). When I bought this phone last year it had Windows Phone 8. Seemed to work ok. I ran software updates and eventually it got to WP 8.1 with all updates. The microphone stopped working. It works for phone calls but if I made a video, talked to Cortana, talked to any other app, etc., it could not hear me.
I would like to make the microphone work even if I have to revert to WP8. I cannot figure out where to download the ROM for WP8. I do have the Lumia Software Recovery Tool, but as things stand now it only wants to flash the most recent official firmware onto my device. I believe that the ROM I want would be the most recent with Black and GDR3 - but I really don't know what I'm doing from experience, just from reading lots of stuff online.
I have tried all the troubleshooting steps on Microsoft's site, including a reset which was a hassle. I called their support phone number and they asked me have I tried this, have I tried that, and the answer was yes because I had followed all the steps on their site. They say it's a hardware problem and they gave me the phone number of some company that will fix it for about $60, supposedly. I think this is a stretch of the term "hardware problem" because the microphone DID work with Windows Phone 8!
I just want to restore this to working order so I can sell it. I've already moved on to a different Windows phone.
SO... can anyone point me to the right place for my WP8 ROM download for my RM-820 (Lumia 920) device? Or can anyone tell me how to solve this microphone question?
I work in PC support for a living and consider myself to have a high level of technical skill. But this is my own personal device I'm trying to fix. Thanks. I really appreciate any help I can get on this.
Hi there,
I see you already founded the right place to ask here.
Please wait an relevant answer there.
Good luck
