Hi guys,
I have installed a few custom ICS roms, they have all worked flawlessly.
Apart from titanium backup.
Is anyone else having trouble defrosting apps in Android 4?
I have tried reflashing the roms, wiping cache/data. Deleted titanium set up so it would be a clean instal on the new ROM. Tried the fix on titanium help pages, nothing seems to work??
Does anyone have a solution to this or is it just my phone!?!?
Any help would be great appreciated!

Q does it have full support for IC now?
If not this may well be the problem.
Have you the latest version of TB? They have fix this problem and now is working good.
It works for me when I change processing mode to interactive

Yes I download the latest version of the app from the market each time.
I have tried defrosting apps in each of the three different processing modes it just hangs in each different app processing mode?

While you may have the latest vesion of TB now, did you backup all of your apps on an older version which lead to an incompatibility on a newer version? Possible...
I am using TB on my KF with 4.0.3 and have had no issues at this time.

No, I backed up all the apps straight before I changed the ROM. Then downloaded the same version of TB from the market to restore them. I only discovered I couldn't defrost apps when I accidentally froze the wrong app and it would defrost

Why not back-up with other methods?

This can sometimes be a result of a kernal incompatibility. You may wish to flash the kernal again or flash a different kernal. Best of luck.

I can't post to the development thread because I'm a newb to this forum, so, I'm hoping somebody will see this here.
Nexus S 4G running Oxygen 2.2.3. Voice Search fc's as soon as I start it up, even from within another app, like navigation. Anybody had this issue and been able to solve it?
If one application stops working usually an uninstall and reinstall of the application will fix it.

Been there. I've uninstalled and reinstalled from the market a few times. I even tried to pull one from a deodexed 2.3.7 stock ROM. Still Fc's.

Not until I read your post
I went through Root Explorer, but the permissions were okay there. I then booted into recovery and used fix permissions. No dice.

Go ahead and install 2.3.1 and see if it is fixed. This is the latest version.
I used voice search a few days ago without any problems on Oxygen 2.3.
Like others have said, try the 2.3.1 version 'cause they fixed some bugs in the previous version!
Sorry guys, I must have updated the wrong thread. I got it working by clearing data. Thanks for the feedback

Ok, so this is probably a weird one. I'm using an HTC One X with ViperX 2.1.2 Rom on stock kernel. I started noticing that when I use Google Search (the widget or the app), I'll search for something and when the results come up, I couldn't click on some of the results. I click on the blue text and it just highlights it once then does nothing. It won't launch the browser. So then I was noticing that it was only happening sometimes, so I continued to experiment and found that it only does it when the title of the result extends onto two lines. If the resulting webpage title is only one line long, the link opens the browser perfectly every time. This being one of the most used features on my phone, it gets extremely irritating. I've tried everything I know to try. Please help!
Bump
Can anyone help me?
Wipe caches and reflash gapps would he my suggestion. May even want to redownload your zip to make sure its not corrupt.

Thanks for the reply. Tried that and only made more problems. I just found that when I rotate my phone to landscape while viewing the results in.google now, I am able to open any result. (Because the webpage titles don't extend onto two lines). Such a weird issue! It's like when you tap a result, the programming only knows to try to open the immediate next line.
I just tried to duplicate your issue. All works well. I'm on CM10 with full 4.2 gapps. ???? Maybe try a different ROM?

I would, but I love the viper rom so much. It's just this small issue that I can't figure out. I've tried finding a reinstall for google now itself that is compatible with ViperX 2.2.0, but haven't been able to find it. Does anyone know where i can get that?
Thanks
Must have been a super rare problem, no one else has had it like me. I since installed a newer version of viper and it works fine. I think a potential for some of the weirder random problems with these roms might be a virus scanner on your computer (if you downloaded the Rom on your computer). Seems that it might break the Rom in small ways.

Do you have the latest version of Google Search installed? Have you tried clearing the app data and cache? Or uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Just the version that came with the rom ...can't update I because it's not compatible on the play store. I did some research and since it is an ICS rom it must be some special modded version of the JB or whatever version of Google search. All the projects trying to mod the newer Google search versions to ICS appear dead, so I figured it was hopeless and just used "Google now remover". Now I'm back to the old Google search. Funny though, as this rom is still in somewhat active development and it's specifically designed for my phone but nobody on the development thread has ever mentioned this problem. Oh well, not really a problem for me now.
If you have root you can use Titanium Backup to uninstall system apps, you could do that and then install Google Search from the Play Store which should update it to the latest version.

I recently rooted my skyrocket. My first time doing it.
Everything seemed to go smoothly and according to the directions I followed off of XDA.
I havent run into any problems, but ever since I rooted everything seems to be laggier in my usage.
Any ideas of why this may be or how I can troubleshoot it?
Thank you.

Sorry guys - Im new at this.
I followed the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773659
I used Odin and installed SuperSU on my device. I also then used TitaniumBackup to backup and freeze bloatware.
I did now flash any ROMs - Id like to try one like SkyICS but to be honest, I got pretty intimidated trying to follow the directions in that thread so I gave up.
So its only rooted right now. What else should I tell you?
My guess is you froze some stuff with titanium that is causing the problem. Try unfreezing one at a time. You have to be a little careful with titanium or you can cause problems.

Also, when you installed su did you install a custom recovery, twrp or cwm? You should and then use it to backup a working version of the rom. Then if you mess something up with titanium you can easily get back to a good version. If you do restore something with titanium only restore apps, never system files. That will mess you up in most cases.

OK I will try and do a restore. Will search XDA for instructions on how to do that.
Any other ideas on troubleshooting apart from unfreezing one at a time? Maybe this isnt a root issue but a memory issue or something.
General tips for troubleshooting lag issues and what I should be lookng for?
Thanks.

I knew a background app kept force enclosing, that's the usual suspect for android lag, but I couldnt be sure. now that I know u debloated by freezing for sure here's what u need to unfreeze:
DRM protected storage
face unlock (u might not even need to for this one but its so small anyway and doesn't do much). unfreeze those and restart your phone
the sns stuff can staff frozen as that's just used for social networking (twitter, Facebook) with the integrated Samsung apps. if u use external apps for these from the play store, or don't use them at all, u can safely freeze these
Thank you both for the advice. I will try this as well as any other suggestions people may have.
I have a Verizon Galaxy Note II. I'm currently running beans Rom build 4, and the reason is this: any time I try to flash a newer build of his Rom, or any other Rom, when I restore from titanium (pro), my messaging will not open and force closes. This problem is very frustrating. I'm currently attempting to run nitroglycerine33's Eclipse Rom, as I loved it for my gnex. I think it may be a certificate issue I'm experiencing.. As nitro's messaging apk is 4.2.1 and it says the current Rom is 4.1.1. I'm sorry if I sound like a noob, but I really need some help. I've tried uninstalling titanium backup and re downloading it and making new backups, I've tried several different builds of beans Rom and other roms, every time the messaging fails. Someone please help me if you can. Thanks so much

I'm not really sure though. Try Fixing Permissions option in recovery mode. Are you upgrading android versions or is it bug fixes?
Tried fixing permissions in recovery to no avail. I'm trying to upgrade roms to new builds and switch in between roms.. never dirty flashing, always clean. Not sure if the Android version is upgrading or if the base is still 4.1.2 (for the Eclipse Rom).

What else are you trying to restore? Don't restore system apps and also just do a fresh install and don't restore anything. Sometimes tibu restorations cause problems
