Hi I'm using virtuous quattro rom rc3. when I formatted my microsd card to exFAT and my htc desire s shows damaged card and I've to reformat it to FAT32 so is there any solution for to make work exFAT on virtuous quattro rom?
I think you can't. exFAT is a proprietary filesystem, so noone can use it apart microsoft(wich is the owner of this FS). you can format your SDcard only in fat32 if you want to use it as a removable drive.
cheers!

no actually android support exfat when I was using exfat on htc stock rom it was just working fine
Update: my bad it wasn't exFAT but I hear android have implemented this file system but still in beta version
Really? I've never Tried it. Maybe the problem is that AOSP ROM don't support exFAT, we need someone who test that, I can't now, I'm on endymion.

Yeah I believe it has to be supported by the ROM/kernel. So HTC probably included support but the AOSP ROMs dont

Yes and I believe it can be implement into android but you have to be expert
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExFAT

and anyway I'm tired of 2gb limitation

I believe FAT32 has a limit of 4gb.
flash drive with fat32 has 4gig limitation but android have only 2gig limitation per file

why the hell do you need a 2GB file on an android!?
And hope to see exFAT supported soon, way faster than 32/16 on windows

the only way to do so is to split your files with winrar (for example) to 2GB parts, till Android supports large file sizes

Does anyone know if there will be a mod to allow use of a file system that supports large files like NTFS or exFAT? Currently the MicroSD can only be formatted as FAT32 (Sucks bigtime).
Yes it does. I've resorted to storing to the internal storage and external harddrives for now.

Me to its very slow and sometimes hangs,i like the windows ntsf, its alot faster.
NTFS support android tablet?
You just need NTFS support in the kernel.
Most of the ROMs on this forum have this already. Install one of them.
NTFS works everywhere, even microSD card, on the Transformer.
Anyone know how to format a card to NTFS using android or honeycomb?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Interesting. I have a class 10 16gb microSD card, and I am pretty sure its formattet for fat32. I guess I will have to try and see if it becomes faster with NTFS

How can I find these ROMs?
Is there any ROM or kernel already made for X10 with Android 2.3.3 that supports NTFS?

You lost?
We all love XDA and want to keep the threads organised so post your X10 queries in the X10 threads so this one doesnt get bogged down with irrelevant nonsense.

Hi,
using MIUI rom right now, and I noticed that copying data from PC to phone is slow as hell (200KiB/s). It was OK while using the stock HTC rom. However when I go to the recovery and mount sdcard, transfer speed is relatively good (4MiB/s-10MiB/s). Does anybody know if it is a ROM related problem, because nobody from MIUI has posted similar issue.
Thanks for any tip or advice.
What is the sd card cache size on miui? Stock htc rom it was limited to a poxy 128k! I use this app to bump it to 2048k.....
http://market.android.com/details?id=com.sdincrease.it
See if that helps.

Hey man, is that ok to use? I mean does not destroy the sd?

Most custom roms have had this tweak as standard for a while, and I've not heard of any issues with cooked SD cards. My class 6 SD card can be written to at 6MB/sec, so I shouldn't expect a cache of 2MB to push it too far. I've had the same 16GB card for 2 years on custom roms with this fix. No problems here.
I'd say make sure you don't have the cache any larger than your SD card class. For example, if you have a generic class 2 card, I'd perhaps only raise the cache to 1024k. That's still 8 times better than stock!
Use an app called "SD Tools" on the marketplace to run a 'before' and 'after' speed test.

No, it doesn't help. It's still the same.
I'm afraid that I can't remember where I've read this, but I believe that I've previously read somewhere in the forum that this is kernel related.
So possibly try stock kernel and try again.
Hi, I'm a bit noob on these issues, a few days ago my phone brickied, but I solved it, after that when I connect the phone to my laptop recognize the SD card like internal memory and storage of the phone recognizes it as the SD card ....
I also like that I recommend an unofficial ROM
without bugs and stable for my phone, if possible
having bootloader
I hope someone can help me

Not sure what you are asking sir, I have installed these, which means I have either tested or ran the ROMs in the Dev. as far as sd card issues, there is none, now for CM9, the mount is different than Gingerbread...EMMC which means: Embedded Multi Media Card, vice the GB "ext SD" label.

i have instaled a stock rom
GINGERBREAD.UCLB3 2.3.6
okay. so i have:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7'' (8gb internal / 32gb microSD external) running Jelly Bean 4.1.1
1-. i rooted it
2-. partition the microSD leaving (1st partition with 28gb FAT32 / 2nd partition with 1gb ext2)
3-. downloaded Link2SD and linked to the ext2 partition
4-. linked almost every app (screenshot)
yet the info in "storage" says i'm storing everything in the internal memory (screenshot).
i linked "Fifa 12" to external SD and started downloading it (aprox 1.2gb) and while it downloads i can see how the free space from the internal storage goes down.
am i doing something wrong?, thanks in advance!
here i add a screenshot showing that partition i made (i did it fine as far as i know)
please...anyone? =(

Naw you didn't do anything wrong. I'm still trying to figure this out myself. I have a 32gb sd card myself and it's rendered useless so far
Try this out. Maybe you will have luck with it

already did =(, no luck.
so we're stucked until someone modifies the Swap SD card mod for jelly bean?
i decided to add some videos and books manually to the SD card to at least do "something" useful with the tablet and now i get an error at the google play store.
i've had this thing for a couple of days and i'm sick of it. i should have go the nexus 7 32gb, only if i knew before...

I couldn't get it to run right ( I mean mount2sd). Kept hiding my apps and doing buggy stuff. Link2sd would at least move some pass over. I mean on 4.2.2. I only use the script above on pre 4.2
