I need an ssl vpn that will be compatible with my work's ASA firewalls, just curious if anybody has gotten anyconnect to work on Android or an open source ssl vpn client (I've never found one for Ubuntu yet).

this works for me on my evo using a cisco vpn concentrator and rsa token
All it does is crash on me. Anyone else have success?
our company only has a web-vpn enable. can "robot-vpn" successfully connect via web-based VPN ? If yes, please know how to do setting.
Right now, I can only use microsoft IE to go to login page and do loging and connect to company network.
I have install this ciscoxxx.apk, have tuk.o installed, and rooted. I try "robot-vpn" many time and try to do login and all failed.

VPN_Connections Works for Me

I got this to work (IPSec to AnyConnect running on ASA5500 series)... Change the xx in the hxxp to the appropriate characters and enjoy! You must have the TUN in your ROMs kernel, BTW.
Good Luck!

Yes, that post requesting this was over a year ago.
Cisco sent it to me directly once it was in beta

Thank you for this, I had no idea that this was available.
Do you know how to get that Cisco apk file besides going through the android market place? After much debugging that site still doesn't work for me and I'm going through the hoops for their tech support right now...
finally found it on the net, now getting the dreaded
"could not obtain the necessary permissions to run this application. this device does not support anyconnect"
This is like the early days of java. we're going backwards I tells ya!
Hi,
Actually I use Cisco anyconnect client for rooted android device.
To configure the VPN ssl server on the cisco device you could use the CLI or if you are a beginner, try the CPP cisco software (you need the CCO account).

I know the Android 4.0 has launched,But ad-hoc was not added to the latest rom,it`s important to me ,so ,i want to know if or when it will be able to add to 4.0.
thanks
Someone over in the prime have a guide to get ad hoc to work with the prime. I'm on EOS 1.0 and unable to find the file which need to replace in order to get ad hoc working. Only wpa_supplicant exist in system/bin not wpa_supplicant2, so I'm unable to try the fix. Hopefully team EOS can explain why wpa_supplicant2 is missing from system/bin. Here's the link to the fix for the prime.

bigrushdog of Team EOS addressed this a couple days ago
The root of the problem is that adhoc is a depricated technology. That being said, the reason we are having issues is adhoc conflicts with wireless peer2peer, or p2p. This is a new wireless technology possible because ics has implemented the config80211 Linux wireless api stack. Some of you may have noticed a new wireless interface named p2p0 which is a member of the wlan0 control group. Also you may have noticed that p2p is also broke. I believe this is why some ics devices utilize two wpa_supplicant binaries. Also it looks like the kernel filters ibss beacons when the p2p0 interface is up. But Im pretty sure I found the source and its an easy fix. ICS is a very different Android from past releases. ICS is very forward looking and continues to merge with Linux common. Adhoc looks doable but I recommended adhoc fans upgrade their phones

OK,
So I was looking to install Cisco AnyConnect on my NextBook Premium 7, However after I install it is complains that it's missing a TUN/TAP driver. Can anyone help me out with this.

I'm not sure which forum to ask this and hope I'm not ot here.
Although I've used Windows and android for a long time, I've not yet dabbled with VPNs. So I did a lot of reading and remain somewhat confused about implementation.
My netgear router has an option to install openvpn and my question is not about that. If I install openvpn on the router, do I still need one of the many VPN apps on my phone? Or is openvpn its own vpn and does not require the monthly cost of another vpn app or the security risks of a free vpn Android app?
I hope I clearly explained my confusion....
You can use OpenVPN Client. There are many clients available but this one works well.
Thanks.
