Hey guys i have a mytouch 4g slide and would like to know if anyone would consider a trade the only thing wrong with the slide is that the screen is raised a little so you can see a slit between the kb and screen i have 3 cases to this device and 2 screen protectors i want a sensation 4g with at least one case and in good condition.....i mean my device isnt in the best condition but this bundle is good but yea the sensation has to have little to no scratches on the screen and no scratches on the hardware what so ever.
Why is your screen raised? What did you do to your phone? Lol. Anyways, I would recommend sensation forums, and craigslist...

Well I just wanted to share with everyone my experience with the back cover and the color coming off after 1 1/2 weeks from the retail box. When I called HTC they did not give me any problems and sent me a new one.
I have kept the phone on Micro-Fiber cloths and what short time it is in a case it is in the T-Mobile sleeve for the Sensation which is soft inside. So I know it is not my use which caused it, the case is possible but I doubt it.
Bottom line is I think their could be some paint/color issues with the back cover so keep a watch for it and if you notice it call HTC and get a replacement.
So has anyone else experienced this? Please leave your comments.
Here is a couple of pictures of mine. You can see the area where the color is coming off just to the right and a little below the camera opening.
It looks like normal wear and tear from the body oils on your hands. I hope that isn't the case and their was some real issue. If this "issue" happens again I probably wouldn't ask for another case personally. On the bright side you can probably sell that other case for like $40 right now.

Same thing happened to me the first week I had the phone... I returned mine to T-Mobile for another one. Glad to see I wasn't the only one! Good luck with the replacement cover.

Well I would agree with you if it had been 6 months, but not 12 days. Maybe I have atomic hands LOL

Maybe having it in your pocket is rubbing it away..

No when it leaves the micro fiber cloth it goes in to the slip pouch. I'm very protective of my phones and I will never put one of my phones in my pocket unprotected.
Other phones I have like the thunderbolt and MT4G I have never had this problem.
I just hope the new case holds up better.
Happened with my XPERIA X1 (made by HTC), happened to my N1, and now it will probably happen to my Sensation. Good to know.
Perhaps it's the skip pocket and the constant slipping in and out of something that fit's so tightly.

Perhaps but the slip case is from T-Mobile and for the sensation and is lined with a soft material. And I mean how many times I could have taken it in and out over 12 days period is, well not that many times as while I'm working I use my work phone.
I might try a different case on this new back cover to see if it makes a difference.
I feel like all phone covers with this surface will be rubbed off eventually
I am having the same problem. I've had the phone 3 weeks, and it is looking pretty bad. It only seems to affect the top third of the case. I'll try calling HTC...
btw, I am also using the t-mobile slip case...
Good thing I got a cover for it to avoid this. Although this does look like normal wear and tear.

You think this looks like normal wear and tear for a 12 day old phone? I would agree if the phone was older maybe but if the paint is coming off this quick after purchase I just can't see it being normal. Also this phone has been in a case when not on my micro fiber cloth.
I think it's your atomic hands. Or too much Texas BBQ!
I've had mine 35 days now and no visible wear on the cover. I have ZERO protection on my phone and it's either in my cheap holster during work or taking up it's solo pocket location in my jeans/shorts. My holster interior is not really that soft and I holster the phone a ****load throughout the day. Honestly... I would expect my phone to have a lot of wear already. I've been in love with the sexy feel of this phone since day one and find myself holding and caressing it sometimes even when I'm not using it.
Not sure if that helps or not but due to my holster and my almost perverse fascination with the feel of this device I would expect to see some wear on mine.
Exact reason I got my tpu Case. Need to keep the resale value up.

I'm pretty sure the xperia x1 was made by Sony not htc

I got my sensation fully covered by zagg shield and mine had been perfectly protected by that so maybe you think about in investing in a fully body shield

No it was definitely made by HTC, just sold by Sony. Because Sony could never produce a decent device. And THAT phone had a problem with its backcover, horrible I finished with rubbing ALL the color off, basically turning the black model into a silver model Looked as if it were new. But I think that's kinda hard to do with the Sensation because there are electronics in the cover. Or is it just metal parts for the antenna?

I also had X1 and the exact same thing happened to me. The cover changed the color from black to silver
Well. I'm now quite used to HTC Smartphones, and mostly (except for the PDAs and the recent HTC click) used a metal-hard-case with plastic screen-cover (or even complete, as for the Universal).
So now I bought the HTC Sensation and thought. a "simple" vertical flip-out leather case won't protect the device to my needs. The recent HTC Click is small and "capable" of accidentaly falling from 1 meters to the floor. On each other device, there were hard-cases which protected the screen with a plastic-"window".
But as far as I have seen, the only "hard-cases" or metal-protectives leave the screen open, which seems senseless for me.
Does anyone know any shops (shipping to germany) for hard-cases for the Sensation?
I have yet to see a case with a plastic liner over the screen....
thats what you're asking, right?
yeah, something like http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_1800000_11000335&products_id=13742 this, but (logically) for the HTC Sensation.
They are selling hard-cases for the sensation there too, but they say "open screen", so without plastic over the screen.
Hey I have seen a awesome case made by the company oterbox it had a plastic screen protector and it had better convenience options to make up for losses of having it in the case I have the evo 4g and it came with a external kickstands to make up for me not being able to get to the one built with the phone

Hey guys I just went to the mall and got a ghost armor screen protector, must say it's the best I've had, I used zagg and didn't like it but this one is ridic clear and touch recognition is still awesome,
On another more when you get it you can't use a case for twenty four hours, I totally forgot how nice this phone looks and how sexy the form factor is. Loving this phone right now

They are awesome. I have one my MT4G and they come with lifetime replacement. You cant even tell its there unless I tell you and the feel is smooth. I've had my MT4G for 6 and had it replaced once. Best screen protector I have ever owned. I just got my Sensation so I will be paying them a visit soon.
I almost bought a Sensation XE today, however I did some reading before making the plunge and I am surprised to hear of problems with a HTC device....
The dust issue behind the screen sounds to be a pain in the arse, and I am really surprised that HTC don't use Gorilla Glass on their phones.
Played with one in a shop though and I really like the feel of Sense 3, which makes Touch Wiz look crap.
Damn it...

Hi,
Firstly:
http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-sensation-has-gorilla-glass-aluminum-unibody-chassis
Secondly, there are far more Sensations without dust under the screen, than there are with.
If you like it get it,and take care of it.
Mine is not scratched, and it has no dust under the screen.
It 's a great phone and I wouldn't be without it.
Gorilla Glass is used in the Sensations screen.
people with dust under their screens prob leave their phone to live with dust. ive had mine for about 2-3 months and no dust under screen.
Half of the Google hits say it has Gorilla Glass, the others say it hasnt.....strange!
Good to know that not all have the dust issue. Though I keep my phone mostly in my trouser pocket so might be a dusty environment....

Yip I can confirm been using my phone for 6 months without dust under screen..just get one
I find screen protectors are useless really for the sensations. They bubble and the finger prints smear to much. Just FYI the screen on the sensation are made of gorilla glass and can resist scratching. I did a few demos with some friends where id take a coin or a key and rub on the glass and no scratching occured. I dont recommend anyone doing this though. Thats my opinion.
I agree with you. I have had mine since launch and have never once used a screen protector. I put my phone in my pocket with loose change and keys all the time still no scratches. But I think this is all pretty well known, people just want that extra insurance that their screens won't get scratched

Put your phone in direct sunlight, it will show little marks on it

I'm currently using an XtremeGuard protector. it's been on since June. Still going strong.
Not running a screen protector is like barebacking a hooker. You might be fine
for a while but you will eventually mess something up
You need to make sure the surface is ultra clean before application. Mine last for months.
