[Q] QPST? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Have any of you gotten QPST to connect to this phone?
I can get the phone to show as a modem in my device manager, but I can't get QPST to connect successfully.
If you got it to work, and can read from and write to the phone what did you do exactly?

QPST is for CDMA phones. It lets you provision the phone. Its the main tool i used to flash verizon and sprint phones to MetroPCS back in the day.

I was wondering if it was CDMA only. I searched google but couldn't really find an answer.

Debug mode is activated.
I Installed Samsung Kies (Will not recognize phone)
At first the phone was recognized in CDMA Workshop and my only problem was being unable to get the SPC....
Now, CDMA workshop says 'phone failed to respond' and wont read anything!
Ive tried factory reset..
Ive tried re-installing drivers
resetting phone, and computer...
idk what else to do!!
I need to know how to make CDMA recognize the phone and then i need to retrieve the SPC as well so that I can make changes to the phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly are you trying to do? if your just trying to reprogram the phone and it is attached to your line just USCC made it so all you have to do is *228 and it will automatically provision itself. I cant think of another reason why you would possibly want the spc code. I dont visit this forum often anymore so if you want a quicker reply go through my profile i guess to send message.
Still need help!
I PM'd you. Anyone else who has any ideas?
UPDATE: I just need to know how to make the phone respond to CDMA Workshop.
pmd you back... are you sure you have appropriate drivers installed?
is your phone in modem mode and dial up?
bought cdma workshop nov. 2011, free upgrade until nov. 2012. interested in transfering the license to you please leave a private message

LG Nexus 5 D820 hidden code

Does anyone know the hidden code for Nexus 5? I need to get into the LG's hidden menu. I am using my Nexus 5 here in Indonesia. The Nexus 5 was brought from the States, so it is the D820 version with the CDMA capability. I was trying to flash it to CDMA carrier here in Indonesia. But the setting just won't stick. It keeps coming back to Sprint's NAI. All i got now is only 1x connection. The 3G/Evdo isn't coming up. That's why I need to get into the LG hidden menu, there is a setting there which i need to tweak so that I can unlock the 3G/Evdo.

Can u share how did u activate cdma ? are u able to use gsm after tat ?
REQ Mod SprintHiddenMenu.apk
Unlike Sprint G2 SprintHiddenMenu.apk PPP NAI setting method is set to be missing.
In order to apply for EVDO SprintHiddenMenu.apk & OmaDmclient.apk files and file modification is needed.
how were u able to activate 1x for cdma ? i tried a lot incl MSL code updation. but can activate. can u share how u achieved cdma mode for 1x ?
I used DFS to enter all the setting. Somehow i managed to get 1x. But then yesterday i was messing with the setting again and now all I can do is call and sms only. No data. so where can I get the missing apk?

First u need to put the Nexus 5 into diag mode by following this instruction in this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535478&page=5
and then u can download DFS from this page: http://cdmatool.com/
u can use the free version.
There are some videos on youtube on how to use the DFS. for example like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDAs7D9CzWs
You need to find your carrier's PRL though. So good luck.
So finally i managed to get 3G EVDO working on my Nexus 5. Besides using DFS. I also used QPST to write some setting into Nexus 5.

I tried to get evdo working on my Nexus by using DFS, but achieved nothing. All I can do now is call and sms only. No data. What settings did you write using QPST?
So if you have entered all the setting using DFS, here's the trick you have to do using the QPST. in QPST go into the PPP config tab. Under the Um look at the User ID is your correct ID or the Sprint's one. If it is Sprint go into the user id and press ctrl-d. This will wipe permanently the Sprint ID. and then look at also inside AN and see whether the user ID is yours. If not do the same thing with the ctrl-d. After that press write to phone button. after that restart your Nexus 5. and then put the Nexus 5 into diag mode again. Use the QPST again. Go into the PPP config tab again. this time under Um and also AN tab fill in your user ID and password from your carrier. and then Write to Phone. restart your phone. Good luck . Hopefully it will work for you.

Yup GSM still works. There will be a choice to choose between CDMA and Global (GSM). For the PRL u need to get it from your carrier or google it . The PRL is carrier specific. There are several tools that u need to get to flash Nexus 5. CDMA workshop to change the SPC to 000000. DFS to enter your setting like MDN, MIN. And last but not least, the QPST. Just like what I explained above. To connect the phone to the pc u need to be able to get the phone into diag mode. I posted the link on how to get the phone into diag mode. Good luck.
oh and don't forget to always insert a sim card inside. Without it the EVDO 3G will not work. I guess it's because the nature of the software/hardware of the phone which require a simcard in there.

Don't worry about it. All QPST version always do that. it says error, but it actually writes into the phone. I'm using build 422.
I would not have worried about it. But QPST not writes changes into the phone. After rebooting, Sprint ID reappears under the AN tub.
Can you give me your 422 build please. (e.g. using Dropbox, GDrive, ets)

You can forget about using QPST, since this tool is for Qualcomm processors. Our S6's have an Exynos soc.
@hackerx1001, I'd like to know how you managed to get your phone to work in DM Mode.
Also, was CDMA Workshop working ?

Soc is Exynos but modem may be from Qualcomm. I believe Qualcomm holds some patents for the use CDMA and Samsung may have used modem from Qualcomm for the Verizon variant.
since QXDM appears in Service mode, modem may be from Qualcomm.

[SM-G920R7] S6 Thread

My goal would be to install Cyanogenmod on my SM-G920R7, but haven't been able to find too much help. Any of the rooting methods that seem to work on rest of the S6 variants, doesn't seem to work on this one. There is no TWRP available that I know of.
I would really appreciate any possible help. Thanks in advance.
i have the same problem
I think that this version of the s6 (the cspire version) isn't widely available enough and no one has bothered to make a root for it - ive been searching for a long time and still haven't found anything
I'd like to at least be able to root this thing.. On 5.1.1 now.
I have a rooted cellphone of this version (I purchased it rooted), is there any workaround to unlock GSM/LTE bands on this device?
----
Edit... Okay, so I went back to fresh stock with SmartSwitch, then flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-zerofltespr and Unikernel-v9b-BOH1-920P-100815 via odin 3.10.7, and rooted again... any method to enable gsm on this device yet?

Yes, it was SM-G920R7... first, I flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-zerofltespr , then Unikernel-v9b-BOH1-920P-100815 , both via ODIN (you can google both files), note these files are NOT for r7 version (they're for sprint version *g920p*) but they'll root the phone.
I ended up getting rid of the phone as there's afaik no way to enable gsm on it

That's not true. I finally rooted that model and got TWRP installed, and followed the steps to get the Sprint Galaxy S4 domestic SIM unlocked. I finally got data and texting working last night, but I can't get calls to work for some reason on an AT&T SIM card. It even shows up at AT&T as my provider. I'm working on this too. So far I've got the same situation as you, Data works but no calls/text.
in a few weeks the person who wants me to unlock this phone for them is switching carriers and plans on buying a new phone to use until I can unlock the S6, so I'll have more time to mess with it then.
There's a few things I want to try, but I can't post links here (XDA rules).
One involves Rooting and using a service code to unlock the bands (google "TeamUSCellular GSM unlock S6")
The other also requires rooting and involves using "galaxy tools" to unlock the bands (not sure if this app works with marshmallow, though) (google "theandroidsoul how to sim unlock sprint galaxy S6")
My hopes are not high for getting this phone to work fully. I've also been trying to get custom ROMs to work, but I can't get the cell radio to work at all on custom ROMs. Even with the stock SM-G920R7 Kernel straight from the latest update .tar

Thanks for the suggestion, yeah I have tried galaxy tools (GT) to change the phone mode to LTE/GSM auto and tried different CSC values, and accessed the hidden menus through there. The sim unlock in GT asks for a code which I dont know, but the phone doesn't seem to be locked anyway since it doesn't care when I try different sim cards. Weird thing is the GT app doesn't work very well (most hidden menus not working) on the current rom i'm using but worked better on the stock cspire rom. Note, I tried using MSL 000000 in ##3282# data menu and it works but most the settings in there don't seem to be applicable to GSM networks.
Currently I'VE been messing with the build.prop file, also tried the CDMA to GSM flashable zip which edits the build.prop but nothing has gotten better. One time after editing the build.prop the phone would only turn on with a blank screen and vibrate every few seconds, that was SCARY. Also was planning on flashing other radio/modem but having trouble finding many of those files and pulling them from roms seems difficult to get the correct file to flash on odin.

I'm not sure you'll even be able to flash other models' modem..? I can't say I've ever tried.
Anyway, getting your hands on the firmware is easy. Just use SamFirm (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647)
To use it, just input the model number (SM-G920R7/R4/P/V/T/A) and the region code, then select "auto".
Region codes and model numbers:
C-Spire: ACG (SM-G920R7)
US-Cellular: USC (SM-G920R4)
Sprint: SPR (SM-G920P)
Verizon: VZW (Locked out from download, app can't download) (SM-G920V)
T-mobile: TMB (SM-G920T)
ATT: ATT (Locked out from download, app can't download) (SM-G920A)
This app downloads firmwares directly from Samsung servers, so the download is really fast and guaranteed to be perfect/stock.
**the SM-G920R7 is closest related to the SM-G920R4 (US Cellular) & SM-G920P (Sprint). The US Cellular one recently supports GSM Bands natively without any rooting/messing with hidden settings, so that's where i'd start. You may not even need the baseband/modem, just flash the rom? I'm not sure. Good luck dude It'd be awesome if you get it working
*** Also, make sure you have a backup of your EFS before messing with the modem. Apparently if you flash an incompatible modem you can erase/corrupt the EFS partition and lose your IMEI. Hell, make a FULL backup with TWRP, and make sure that backup is copied over to your computer before doing any flashing. You can't be too careful with this.
Haven't had any luck flashing stock firmware or modems from other models using Odin, errors with a security message or something, tried G920A and G920R4. Probably for the best I suppose. Flashing custom roms has not been a problem, even if the don't work properly. Wonder if there is a test mode or way to use logcat to see why calls don't proceed like normal. Never worked on going CDMA to GSM before, I always did CDMA to CDMA in the past.

Issue with MSM tool.

Hello guys. I've tried on two computers with the official one plus charging cable to MSM back to stock, downloaded the files two times, with no luck. I keep getting SMT config issue. I follow the guide correctly.

Yes. IN2017, I downloaded the folder twice from the TMO thread in the one plus 8 forum. Also to note, I follow the instructions perfectly. The TMO forum states "click other, then from the menu choose TMO. click start then you get your phone in the correct mode and plug it in"(not word for word but yes). When I do that however even if my phones not plugged in, I get the error stated. As soon as I push start. Sorry if that makes no sense. I tried it on two computers. Basically no matter what I get an SMT error
On my msm tool, the SMT option is grayed out. Im usiing this tool with the IN2017 model, and yes i have the tmobile variant.
