Great news. I've been on EH17 for forever since I didn't want to have to Odin EC05 then flash EI22/EL30.
Now I just gotta wait for a video from Qbking on how to do this on an MTD rom such as cm7/cm9...I never feel comfortable using Odin haha xP

Thanks guys! This is awesome. Didn't think we'd see this in the life of the phone.

Omfg thanks sooo much this is awesome

YES homo. Good release! I have definitely been waiting for this.

Is there any chance we can get a rooted version of this tarball? It just saves the the obligatory steps of re-rooting just to get into Recovery (you know, if/when something screws up in MTD).

Awesome! I'm downloading this now.
Few questions (not about ROM, but in general).
1. Do you have the line issue most of us are having? If you haven't noticed it, DO NOT LOOK FOR THEM, THEY DO NOT GO AWAY.
2. You may not have to buy an unlock code, if I'm right, I may be able to get a Samsung techie to give me an unlock code (for my phone at least, and I'll tell you what exactly to do to get one from Sammy as well).

CM9... hmmm.

Are you serious? Ive posted about various phones using GB kernels. This was done so people could get ICS while the devs finalized the ICS kernel. Its also done on phones that will never see official ICS support.
As for tediously upgrading, that shouldnt be a issue. Once ics roms are released people will stop asking for eta's and if there are some. It will let people port things like CM9 and possibly AOKP and allow bhundven and co focus on building the ics kernel.
good thing i was already on the john when i found this thread!
thanks for all of your work guys!
OMG! Thank you all for the continued support! I've been holding out hope and it looks like we'll all be soon rewarded...just awesome!
Quick question...if there is one special bit my Valhalla Rom gives me that I don't want to live without, it's the Mobile AP option that allows me to turn my phone into an access point. Will that be possible in ICS?
Sorry for the random question...just curious.

So far so good. The initial start up took a bit longer than usual, but it was no biggie. Loving the data speeds too.
Downloading.
Aight, noob question here.
Can I flash this without wipiding data? I'm on rooted debloated deodexed stock md3. By guess is yes. That's what happens in ota. Rite?

Thanks Scott, looking forward for the odex version this morning.
Thanks! Downloading right now!
Thanks Scott & beans for getting this out so quick, just one question, is it possible to get native wifi tethering working on this build?
I was stock rooted MB1. Had a heck of a time getting the OTA to work. Instead I just dirty flashed this. Worked great! Thanks Scott & Beans. :good:
I look forward to see what the devs can do with this nice new base.

Just make a backup before hand, but that shouldn't cause any issues. Don't forget the firmware too

This is great. My question is I am going to do this but I want to start fresh.
Is there a way to do something like a super wipe of my phone? I want every nook and cranny cleaned up. I want all files erased completely.
Plus, what's better, De-odex or odex?
Thank you in advance for your time and help.

I've used some of the "super wipe" scripts on my phone and had some goofy things happen. I would suggest just using your recovery and reformatting the internal before flashing.
Odex is supposedly quicker... but may come with some odd behaviors down the road. You can always try odex'ing later with an app called 'ODEX ME'. ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514576
Does this kernel allow for flashing boot animations?
