[MOD][KQ1 & KQ7]ICS Extended Power Menu with Screenshot Function - Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development

I swapped the "Reboot Download" function with a Screenshot function because the download mode doesn't actually work, it will give you a hang in Odin so it's useless
(Thanks to Blumdum for making the actual change in the text, got a bootloop myself)
Ported the function from CyanogenMod

Place the files in /system/framework
Now you will get a non responsive system but wait until it reboots by itself and your done
(Just in case be sure to have a CWM backup )
NOTE: THIS FILES ARE FROM BROODROM RC3 AND ARE THEMED
For KQ7
Download and install ICS V3.1.1 Theme
and then copy android.policy.jar to /system/framework and set permissions to RW-R-R (644) and then reboot
Also thanks to crybert for providing original file

I works great!!!!
Good job.
Edit: do you use it in your fixed version?

Hi!, I just noticed that my phone (or OS) has a built-in screenshot feature. I have UCM GingerBread Rom 2.1 installed with an ICS theme from a russian forum.
When holding the "BACK" soft-key pressed and pressing the "HOME" button, the system is taking a screenshot. Can someone please test and confirm it? maybe i'm wrong, maybe it's a function of an app that is running in background..?
Thank you.

Hello to all
I tried doing a test.
I extracted the files android.policy.jar and framework-res.apk by ROM_GT I9001_UCM_GINGERBREAD_XXKPU_V2 and I simply replaced the files in my rom with rootexplorer.
I received several errors then I restarted the phone and I still found some problems, had changed the background of the theme I use, and no longer had the google account, I restored the background, and account. Now my menu is so ..
.. and everything works perfectly.

Nice one. Will test it ASAP (but 1st i build your counter and maybe (if you like it) a site)
EDIT: Here's the banner i created in about 2 mins

I'm not feeling very well...

first of all... hi!
second of all... sorry for the dumb question.
When you say ''doesn't actually work'', you mean only if I enter in Download Mode from the menu? or I'll have the same problem even with the key combination?
I ask because i already installed KQ1 deodexed and i want to know if this will be my last ROM
Thank you

Hello
I have the KQ1 and if you use my method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22595130&postcount=9, you'll have everything up and running with the menu, and also with the keys.
broodplank1337 means that there is no entry in the menu DOWNLOAD, but surely the keys work

There is absolutely not need to put the points "Recovery" and "Download" into power menu, imho.
One could always reach the Recovery mode by simply reboot with Vol+ button depressed.
And Download point is used soooo rarely, so it's not a problem to boot it with three buttons. But one incorrect movement in power menu - and you are in.

And boots in download modus with powerbutton gives a error in odin. You have to use the 3 button combo.
Thats the reason why broodplank used the download in the powerbutton.

OK it's true the download function is rarely used ... I was not aware of the error of odin, when there is the error? when you connect the phone? or when you try to upload a file?
I only tried to connect to it, and without error odin recognizes the phone.

You can get the error when you try to upload a file. Its get stuck in one of the first steps after you start it.
Its not really an error but odin stops.

I made this simple test because I did not like the icons in black and white. And then download remains by default.
I am not able to edit files, you may also do the color version of the icons?

Can you make a MM for the HTC Mail application. Please.
Oops forgot to post that one. It will be up shortly.
I've tried to apply the Gmail one twice, both times it made Gmail stop working. I'm running Virtuous 3.1.0 had to restore with Titanium Backup. Any thoughts?
Hey thanks for the work. I tried the Gmail, Mail and SMS and they all stopped working (applied twice). Had to restore.
Don't fret, the others that I have tried have done the same.
I am using Rooted Stock Froyo, Deodexed, S-OFF.
Thanks for the effort.
Just tested gmail and mine disappeared too. I applied it again and it came back with the notify working. Please try this and report back.

ops i forgot to say that the "android Theme" folder needs to be clear. the xml is trying to find a file that you dont have because the phone made a copy of the "icon" folder.
Please clear out the android theme folder on your sd card and unzip again.
and delete the old zip files you have in you download file and re download.

[Mod] 4-in-1 Reboot Menu - Updated for 3.70 OTA ROMS

Ok guys... this is my port to the 4-in-1 Reboot Menu made by sqn- for the HTC Desire and DesireHD.
Hot Restart basically lets u guys restart the phone in less then 10 seconds instead of going through the full boot cycle.
This should work on any DeOdexed rom that has busybox installed and was made from the new android.policy.jar file that came with the 3.70 OTA update.

Please note that this is based off of the icons that are in com.htc.resources apk from the 3.70 OTA and if someone themed them a little different or using a different com.htc.resources apk file for their theme the icons might look different than the picture.
It is a relatively easy fix to make if u happen to end up in one of those situations... so let me know and ill try to help when i can.
Link to zip is attached... Have fun.
p.s.
i changed the icon for the reboot menu... so it doesnt look exactly like the pic.

a tiny tip...
next time.... instead of a nand backup... since it is only one file and nothing more.
simply use adb:
1. adb remount
2. adb pull /system/framework/android.policy.jar /where ever u wanna save it.
and flash... if anything goes wrong u can always push the file u had back to replace.
Off topic here, but where did you get your battery icon with the percentages? Can that be flashed with the new Fresh ROM (based on 3.30 leaked ROM) and can you share?

its the icons that konikub made and i redid them with numbers and a little bit of improved quality.
thats a part of the theme i have on my rom.
i will probably put up a stand-alone version of my theme soon for anyone who likes the theme but wanna stick to a different rom.
if u want only the batt icons... u need to look inside my framework-res.apk for them... and hopefully fresh uses a framework-res that has batt percent on and u can simply replace the images.
if u dont know how to do that i can be of much help cuz although its simple to do im sure u can find a how-to in the forum somewhere.
Awesome now I can get rid of Quick Boot.
Love replacing widgets and apps with flashed mods

i think myn already had it ported to his rom a few weeks ago if im not wrong...
but anyways... i can see why it wont work with his rom.
initially i tried to pull off his port of it from his rom... but no go.... then i realized that he was using something else cuz my whole phone started acting up... so i went to the original page of the 4-in-1 boot menu and just did it myself with the new jar file from 3.30.
of course i had to switch some icons around cuz every image has its on unique id # and from phone to phone it might change.
im not sure what happens when u say its not working though... what does happen? does anything change?
Is it supposed to wipe data when flashing this? I stupidly didn't do a nandroid before flashing and had to re-setup everything. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention when I went to wipe the cache in recovery, don't know.
Anyway, the reboot menu is working fine in Fresh 3.4, I just had to set my stuff back up.

the update script in the zip doesn't even clear cache ... it just copy's over the old android.policy.jar file thats inside /system/framework...
so i really can't see why u would need or needed to set up everything again.
Hm. I probably just fat-fingered it when I was wiping the cache, then. Weird. It works though, so thanks.

[THEME] [ZipThemer] [any GB rom] chargRED by Manigma77

chargRED
I would like to start off by giving credit to all the great themers that I have probably borrowed images from.
In No particular order, TheBowers, bgill55, Mobile_Sensei, NatemZ, and I'm sure theres more.
DISCLAMER
This theme is in no way complete and I can not give any ETA's as when it will be or if it ever will be because of my busy schedule with life and work, but I will try if there is enough interest. FYI, I am fully aware that the dialer and contacts needs some work, Please enjoy the rest.
LockScreen
You will only get the aosp locksreen if you install a rom with it included such as GummyGB. You also need to check glass lock in display settings to get the aosp dialer lock slider to answer calls.
Install Instructions
This is a Metamorph theme, but I recommend using ZipThemer from the market to apply it.
Just move the zip to your sdcard/zipthemer folder then open Zipthemer
You will have to update ZipThemer to work with Edify Scripting (heres how to do it)
Select Menu then Update Edify from within ZipThemer, then select BROWSE and choose any zip off your sd card that is known to work with edify scripting, then select CONFIGURE. Now, you will be able to continue on to the next steps and ZipThemer will work.
From there select +theme, and choose my zip, then choose *output and name it whatever you like.
Next, select Build it, and choose to make a backup (it will ask you) that way if you don't like it you can easily flash back to what you had before installing.
Finally boot into CWR, and choose the zip you just made and flash then reboot.
I am currently using this on GummyGB v1.8, It should work for "almost" any rom, the good thing is if it doesn't look how you expected all you have to do is boot back into CWR and flash the Undo file you made in ZipThemer and your good to go.
I don't think ZipThemer has been given enough credit, but it allows you to try this theme on any rom and flash back using the undo feature without any negative effects. For Ex. When I was building this I caused my phone to bootloop, I just flashed the undo zip and I was back up and running.
If you do try this on another rom and you are not happy with the results, you can also go into the zip file you got from here and change the .pngs and .jpgs as you like. (Be carefull Changing .9.pngs unless you know what you are doing) then rerun it though ZipThemer and see If you fixed your problem.
EXTRA NOTES: Because this is a ZipThemer Theme then if your Rom (ex. GummyGB 1.8) gets updated to say, 1.9 then all you have to do is apply the rom update then run ZipThemer again and apply, Then this theme will essentially be ported to the new update.

Uhh it doesn't work at all. Zipthemer uses the wrong scripting. I get the message:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amen scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. This is what i did: downloaded zipthemer, downloaded chargRED, opened zipthemer, pressed menu button, pressed update edify, choose option 2 at bottom by pressing download button, after it says success i pressed back button, menu, settings, then pressed update script format at bottom, then selected edify-fascinate then followed steps of putting chargRED in zipthemer and flashed..all worked perfect thanks

No Problem, I hope you like the fact that if your rom is updated you can still use this theme, all you have to do is flash the rom, then re-run this file through ZipThemer, and essentially you just ported this theme to the new build. I know I mentioned this in the OP but how many people actually read the whole thing,

hehe I did! I always read the entire OP on themes and roms so I know what may or may not work
Also I just played around with ZipThemer a bit and if you go to Setings -> Update Script Format and select the Incredible it works with our phones as the Incredible uses the same scripting style. May have to update the phone database first by going to Update Edify -> Download

Try using Zipthemer and see what it tells you. This theme was designed around GummyCharged GB but Zipthemer compiles based on your system so it might work.

Some parts will theme but im not sure if all of them will. The signal icons are now in sytemui.apk in gb, froyo doesnt have the systemui. U are welcome to try, it will not hurt anything and u can always use the undo zip u make to go back exactly like u have it now.

Alright cool thanks alot. last question, im currently using another theme can i just flash over it?

Yes just flash over, of course there may be a few icons left over from your old theme. If u can figure out what needs ti be changed just unzip the chargredV1.zip and replace and/or add what you need then rezip with 7zip (storage mode) and run it back through zipthemer to see your changes. The undo zip you make will have your old theme on it so u can easily get back to your old theme by flashing the undo zip. Hope that helps and not to confusing.

Working Volume Rocker Wake on Jellybean

I found that Volume rocker wake worked on ICS perfectly when Generic.kl was edited in system/usr/keylayout.
However, in Jellybean, editing it functions erratically. Volume rocker does not work in deep sleep.
Motorola provided a neat little function in build.prop for this.
Open up your build.prop. You'll find this Wake on vol line persist.mot.volumekey.wakeup=0. Change that to 1 and volume rocker Wake is enabled.
Now, you've to add WAKE after Volume_UP and Volume_DN in the files
Generic.kl,evfwd.kl and omap4keyboard.kl located in System/usr/keylayout

In ICS, you only have to add WAKE after the Volume_up(key 115) and Volume_down (key 114) in Generic.kl, as shown in the pic. Leave a couple of spaces, and make sure your keyboard doesn't automatically add a full stop. WAKE should be written, in caps, as specified. Also, check the permissions of the file after saving. They should be rw-r-r (6 4 4).

You need to remove two lines from android.policy jar and then edit the Generic.kl file and add WAKE_DROPPED after Volume up and down for this to work..
If you are fine with recompiling and decompiling i can help you out..

Please note there is a secret menu called "Lab Menu for internal use only" which can be accessed by keying in the following in your dialler
*#*#6686#*#* & here it is simply a matter of selecting "Wake up phone via volume up/down option and rebooting. Confirmed works on JB 4.1.2 official leak 1. There is also an option for 'Host File Configuration".
Please hit thanks button if this helps you.

You must've messed up your build.prop somehow. I hope you had made a cwm backup. Try the new method described by rad7.

I don't intend to go back to ICS, if you are on ICS you can check it yourself, i don't think it will cause issues.

No, on ics I am not aware of similar menu key sequence. I am suprised that it doesn't work on ICS as it is a phone based menu.

I just flashed this. ROM looks amazing Diablo. 2 things...
1- I can't seem to get the Mounts2SD to work. I can not get the button to work. It just sits on the first screen and I touch all over and I have tried flashing it 3 times and still can't get the button to work. I have not tried to re-download yet.
2- Is there a way to change the contacts page to a dark mode? It is white background and a light grey letters and is tough to see.
Other than that I am digging it so far.

I wonder why some are getting a good install and some aren't,check the MD5SUM guys and dont download from your phone, sometimes it will give you a bad download. Not saying your not,but make sure to follow the instructs.

I tried downloading 3 times now and flashing each different one. Checked m5sum and it matches. Same problem, it doesn't recognize my root. When I open Terminal it says at the top "void endpwent( ) (3) is not implemented on Android" Next line says "sh-4.1$ export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH" Kinda glad to see someone else has the same problem and I'm not going crazy. Love the theme on this one. Let me know if I can give you any more information.
The issue occurs on first boot before I even try to flash mounts2sd. I'm following the instructions word for word. Wiping everything 3x
I have re-flashed everything and tried the mount2sd and still says no root access. I opened up Titanium and it basically says the same thing, but it shows The space used for the system ROM, Internal, SD card and SD card(a2sd). Plus I have a good percentage of the apps I have on my last rom I used in the app drawer.
