I hard reset my phone because live tiles were not updating, and if they did, once a month.
However, it seems that live tiles does not work, and all I get are the past news of imdb and ehow.
Does anyone having the same or a fix? I am developer unlocked, non-interop.
Thank you.
Am I only one with a faulty device? Anyone?
One friend of mine has the same problem with his HTC Radar.
Sometime LTs are updating, but there is a delay ca. 2-4 hours. When he disabled all background tasks and re-enables them later, no LT is updating now at all. Even soft-reset didn't help.
Any suggestions?
I have this problem as well except it effects all live tiles.

For some reason my Weather Widget doesnt update itself that often. Like earlier this morning it said it was clear, but with the moon, yet it was sunny out...LOL Any ideas?
Does it ever update? If not, check your Location settings. If it does, then sometimes you just have to wait for the connection. I've seen it take a while to get the update sometimes, but eventually if you're sitting on the home screen it should update if location settings are on and you have a data connection.
I was running totally stock last night. It told me it was sunny and clear and it was night time. It seems to be having issues.
Yea location is on. I just thought it was weird that its not updating all the time.
My HTC weather widget updates very sporadically throughout the day, however it does work.
Email HTC about this. The more people who tell them about it, the greater the chance we will see updates and fixes coming out.
I know these posts are old but i'm bored!
If you have a 'task manager' installed make sure it's not stopping these updating functions by default.
I had a weird problem this morning when the weather was still showing a moon after updating at 10:34am. It finally changed to a sun after I manually clicked on "Update Now". Anyone know where in the registry it tells Sense Touch what time to show Moon or Sun in the weather? It seems that my HD2 likes the moon much more than the sun..

It is normal, not issue. Look at the wheather of the next day at the time you updated.
it is not normal.
I noticed this too recently.
Normally (before), ~8am, after weather update, I get a Sun. Recent 1-2 weeks, I still get a moon after update at ~9 or 10am.
Of course, the app is normal, i think the weather source is abnormal.
Same issue with me. I though it might have been caused by installing the new AGPS hot-fix from the HTC website in Hong Kong.

That's definitely possible since I just added the AGPS hotfix yesterday.
i don't feel it is caused by AGPS. I noticed this before installing the AGPS fix.
BTW, I noticed we are all from HK. seems this is only affecting HK users.
Hello Guys,
It is not only HK...I faced this issue also and I am in Singapore.
I noticed this problem on the mobile off and on.
I just did an Update Now and it shows Singapore as Mostly Cloudy with the Sun in the background.
However, on My Location it shows Intermittent Clouds with the Moon in the background!
****!

I noticed the same thing again this morning... It updated at 9:45am and it still came back to display the moon instead of the sun...
possible only affecting GMT +8 (if not country specific)?
The weather source is from accuweather.com. Will check their web site tomorrow to see if it is caused by accuweather.
I m from Israel and I get the same thing for quite some time now. I thing the have an issue with their timezones database
It is AccuWeather.com problem. 9.13am HKT, it still displays moon (see attached picture).
Copied from another thread.
When you set up your HD2 after a hard reset, you may be tempted to disable the Google locations because the system warns you it my cause data costs. But if you disable it, your weather information will be wonky, including the midnight sun and noon-day moon.
I have cured this problem by re-setting with all the hot-fixes removed and enabling Google locations.

I recently just reset the phone enabling google location service but the problem is still there. I don't think that would account for so many people having the same problem.
Folk, did you disable the Google location service? It won't work properly without it.
As mentioned already its accuweather thats at fault. Its a crap service, always has been.
So I just forced Mango on my Omnia 7 and noticed that the Me tile doesn't update when I get notifications from Facebook. I've been using my phone the whole day and not once did the live tile show anything. However the Me hub shows all my latest notifications.
I didn't force update and got the same problem.
It can take hours for it to update sometimes, or minutes other times, really annoying. I just let Facebook notify me through their app and then use the tile

I've been waiting for three days. I know I could use the facebook app but it would be nice to use the me tile.
The Facebook app is a joke. It's the worst Facebook app I've ever used on all platforms. And this is despite the fact that Facebook and Microsoft have some sort of deal going on between them.

i couldnt agree more with you
anyway, the whole wp7 implementation especially after mango is awesome and i don't really see the need to use any apps for messenger, facebook or twitter

Same thing I do. Issue with the app, additionally, is that Microsoft's PUSH notifications tend to be much slower than other platforms.
I heard they were having issues with their push services last few days, though. Maybe that's the issue.
However, the Me Tile is updated via a background services that runs max once per half-hour. So don't depend on it for notifications. They won't come instantly, and won't come for quite a while depending on the last time the background service ran.
isn't the ME tile a local live tile? It's tied to the ME HUB which updates just fine.
The Me Hub updates just fine because it polls when you go to different parts of the HUB. That's what the little dots at the top moving is... WP7's way of saying "Loading, please wait."
When the HUB is closed, the actual Live Tile is updated by a Background Process, which runs at most once per half hour.
People HUB is the same way. Everything it gets when the hub is closed is either from Exchange ActiveSync, etc. (for Contact data and stuff) or a background process (to know which of your friends made the latest posts so it can prioritize their images in the collage). That background process runs at most once every 30 minutes.
If your batter is low, it's possible that the phone shut that background process down to conserve battery as well.
thats just not how its happening to me. i've only seen it show updates only 2-3 times in the last 3 days
I haven't gotten any updates since the update. I see the dots going across but it never shows the new notifications.
I have a similar issue since i installed the fbook application and put it as a live tile. I want push notifications for fbook and mango doesnt have that.. But I still want to use the Me hub which stopped updating because of the fbook app.. whats the issue?
same problem on my HD7...ME Tile doesnt update showing me my facebook Notifications...On my HD2 running Windows Phone, this wasnt a problem.
How often does the ME Tile run in background...looking for notifications ?
It almost seems instant...!! is it ???
Try to re-visit first 10-12 notifications, open them, close them. ME tile will start working once you opened the notification that needs attention. There is a notification that's gone unnoticed and it wont be highlighted either.
Hello,
I have the One S since one week and since monday there are Problems with the Sense Calendar.
At the first days I had the Lockscreen with activity-widgets. So with die Informations about missed calles, actuall dates, mails and so on.
With some more dates in a day it begans to flickering. And then I recognized that also the widget with the dates-overview crashs sometimes.
I'm using the calendar with Google and there are two different calendars registered. When I'm using only one calendar in that widget it is a little bit more stable. But especially when the widget updates to the next day it crashs... And this crash let crash the hole homescreen...
I already deleted calendar-cache - no change.
Does anyone can confirm that bug? I thing i could reinstall my One S... But it is absolutly fresh, new and was hard personalized. I don't want to do that work again with a new phone.
Any ideas?
I had same problem with calandar widget. I removed it, then added to a different empty screen. Removed that, then put it back on original screen. The problem disappeared. Probably nothing to do with what I did though! Still get the flickering on lock screen though.

Hmm, i check this out. Maybe it helps... Sometimes strange problems have strange fixes. And hopefully the lockscreen-problem get fixed with an update in the next days.
Am interested to know if it does work

Seems that it works for the moment. The widget is still alive after "day-change" with two included calendars...
But I keep an eye on it the next days - Wednesday my studies goes on...
Samsung Focus running Mango. All of the live tiles for 3rd party apps nolonger update unless I actually open the app.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled apps.
I've cleared out the Endpoints registry keys.
I've rebooted the phone too many times to count.
All of the 1st party live tiles still update normally. What's the deal? How do I fix this?
I don't want to have to hard-reset my phone...
Went ahead and did a hard-reset of my phone back to factory defaults, spent all day getting all my apps reinstalled, live tiles are working normally again.
How do I prevent this from happening in the future? I shouldn't have to periodically wipe a phone to keep it working...
I'm having the same problem on my Lumia 800 and I really want to get this sorted but would like to avoid a hard reset. So if anyone has got any ideas, it would be appreciated.
With the Tango update so close, do you think it would be worth waiting before trying a hard reset? Could an update like this clear whatever the problem could be?
Go to Settings>Apps>background Tasks>Advanced.
Uninstall unused/unnecessary apps from the Lists.
Once done the Live Tiles should start again.

Like I said in my first post, I've been through that. Uninstalled every single app that had a live tile and reinstalled them one-by-one.
Their live tiles never started working again (it IS NOT an issue related to having too many live-tile apps, I was well under the limit). Only thing that fixed it was a hard reset...
I've also been having this happen to my interop-unlocked Verizon Trophy after I manually updated it to 8107. What has been working for me to "re-enable" the third-party live tiles is a really random combination of enabling Wi-Fi and then setting up an alarm with this app overnight, and having the alarm normally activate in the morning. However, it has only been a temporary solution since the live tiles don't update once I restart. I have also disabled unused background tasks, leaving only three applications (lockWidgets, WeatherMaster, and Week View) running.
This is a pretty abstract fix that somehow works for me, but hopefully it works for someone else too.
thank you
