HSPL Out!!! - HTC 7 Pro

It appears that HSPl is out for the Goldc (Sprint Arrive)
Hopefully we can get a chef to throw a goldc rom together with internet sharing
If anyone has applied this please post

Woot. Thanks dft!!!
Sent from my T7575 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

I'm downgrading my phone to NoDo so I can do the HSPL thing. I have bootloader 4.3, from my understanding I need version under 4.0 to do the HSPL/RSPL.
I'm gonna try out the custom ROM for Sprint GoldC posted today when it finishes downloading. I'll report back here since I don't have 10 posts and cant comment on the dev thread.

does the mean i can get more accent colors?

If anyone have trouble downgrading SPL from 4.3 to 1.25 using the "Signed" file here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142120
Try using the task 00 program here to load the file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16370917&postcount=1
It worked for me. The one included in the archive kept giving me error 202 device not connected on two different PCs.
I now have HSPL installed on my device, and am waiting for the extremely slow Rapidshare download of Ansar's new ROM to try it out

about time!
I'll be giving this a shot in the very near future.

IF Flash With Windows Vista?

If i flash my wizard in windows vista with same tool that use in Win XP, have problem tips : Brick my WIZARD??
Thanks for reply
Well after running your question through Babelfish I was able to deduce the answer you are looking for is that the Upgrade Utility isn't currently supported on Vista without taking certain steps such as the rolling back drivers as detailed here: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&ct...UHA5zR8qi-QhMzKRQ&sig2=rEIIHYwXE-1J6_sJ2gd2lg
Personally I've found these methods don't work for me but you may be lucky - I think it works for G3 owners.
It's g3
Thanks Neonkoala, your suggest more help me, and then for flash rom i use XP OS,

Just to say that the method suggested for vista doesn't work for me even with a G3.
Did you try various versions of the utility? I got different errors with 2.0.x to 2.5.x.
try this

I have Windows Vista Ultimate and i solved my problems by rolling back my usb sync driver, (u can find how to do this on Xda Forum), and with this RUU.
You must change all RUUs with this one.
cheers.
The RUU (after you have changed the USB-driver) works only with original ROMs (such as T-Mobile etc.), to flash WM6 u need the shelltool.
regards
irm
Thank you!

I was looking for this for a long time. This is the first RUU that works for me on Vista (after rolling back to older AS drivers of course) . Thank you!

update WM6.0 to WM6.1

Hi,
I've got a HTC Tytn 2 bought in the netherlands and it's shipped rom version 1.56.404.6 and radio version 1.27.1.32
I've searched and tried 3 different roms:
Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_Hybrid_1.64.08.21__RTM_
Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid_V2_1_65.14.06_CubeV2_
NoThrills_WM61_NLD_V3.exe
They all give error [262]
I've disabled the windows firewall.
Did a clean XP install and activesync 4.5
None works.
Anyone can point me in the right direction? as i'm new here.
ps. what mean these terms?
Cube, No_Cube, Lite and Hybrid?
Thanks

Like P1tater said before start on the first sticky of the forum or just click on the Link in my signature labeled "Flashing virgins click here". That will reveal all pertinent information. And like stated above this post for the love of God, Allah, Flying Spaghetti Monster, or whoever HardSPL first.

How is it blurry? There's a huge link with nice big red letters in that sticky that even a pile of freshly shaven wool covered in alfredo sauce would know addresses your question:
ROM Upgrading Wiki (top three links below) <--- Want a new ROM? Don't know what a ROM is? Start here with this 6 step guide.
I can only assume that by blurry you mean you read his response without your glasses and therefore the text wasn't in focus. Otherwise, I have to worry about wool being sentient and taking over the world.

I hate to say this but I never had to ask how to flash a ROM to my TytnII (AT&T Tilt). Every question on flashing ROMs has been answered time and time again. It doesn't matter what phone (Pocket PC, Smart phone, or other), you need to unlock it before you can change the OS, built-in OEM software, or the entire ROM on the device. You will only be able to update the device with the manufacturer's or cellphone comany's software updates if you do not unlock the phone.
As for updating to WM6.1, there is no update method that I know of. You will have to flash an entire 6.1 ROM to your phone. If your cell phone company releases an "update" to 6.1, it will most likely be a complete ROM and not an update like they might say.
Due to European law, most all phones are unlocked for use on different networks. That does not mean you can just flash any ROM to your phone, it still has to be software unlocked.
HINT: look up "HardSPL" or use the XDA-Wiki link at the top of your screen.

Noob trying to backup/change roms....

I'm sure the information is already on these forums, but there is so much to read that I'm not sure where to start and I really need it all in a easy to follow format.
Please can someone put down or link me to info on the following....
I have The Official T-Mobile 6.1 ROM on my phone and this is what I want to do:
1) Extract my 6.1 rom to be reinstated later
2) Get hold of the Official T-Mobile 6.0 ROM
3) Flash my phone back to the Official T-Mobile 6.0 ROM
4) Restore my backup via sprite (this is the only bit I know how to do)
5) Create an upgrade file in Sprite (I can probably figure this out)
6) Flash my phone back to the the Official T-Mobile 6.1 ROM that I extracted in step 1)
7) Restore my backups from 6.0 using the upgrade file I created in step 5)
Thanks in advance for any help/advice
DJ
/edit if this should be in Kaiser general please can someone move it for me. Ta.
Take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369282, its a sticky on the Kaiser ROM development page.
Um, you should be able to search the forum for this info. I advise you do so as you'll get flamed by the moderators for posting without searching, which is one of the rules. Hope I don't get flamed for this post...
Thanks very much for you post
I still can't find how to extract my ROM, I'd like to post it on the forums because it is the newest one that T-Mobile have in the UK.

The OP is a lazy sumabich! You want us to prepare your dinner, draw your bath, and give you a backrub while we do all of the other things you requested. YUK!
I really don't see what you are trying to back up. You are asking for some very complicated things to do as a noob. People here do a lot of moving from rom to rom and using sprite isn't the best tool for this. I don't think sprite will do the job of making a backup from 6.0 to 6.1. Sprite should only be used for the same rom. Restore all your stuff the hard way through cabs and activesync.
Please can someone tell me how to extract the rom that T-Mobile put on my phone so that I can always change it back?
I'm going to cook my own tasty rom from some guides etc rather than going back to WM6.0.
But I want to save my T-Mobile 3.31.110.1 WWE rom before I start.
Thanks

Look first search for the Rom you have on the device now. You should be able to find the Orignial Tmobile Rom. THen just tuck it away. then you need to Hard SPL your phone and security unlock it. Then you need to READ go to the WiKI, Asking for detailed instructions, in the worng place is not a good idea. At this moment think of a Giant pool of hungry Sharks now picture yourself as hanging from a line just over the top of the water. you are now lowering into the water slowly but you are soon to be Someones Lunch. Now Run to the WiKi and read, read ,read...Do you want to be chum! or do you want to learn! everything you need to know is here in this forum, You need to look not ask! and last but not least WELCOME TO THE GROUP!

check out the Dumping your ROM video in this Thread. It should help you accomplish dumping your 6.1 ROM for cooking. The 6.1 ROM should be available from HTC's website (www.htc.com). Instead of switching back to 6.0 just to create an upgrade file (since you insist on using sprite) download and install Sprite 6.2.2. It will allow you to create a backup file of just your personal databases without having to revert back to 6.0 to create an upgrade file. It will also allow you to restore your backup without having Sprite installed on your new ROM. You are trying to make too much work for yourself.
Thanks for the replies
I'm on the HTC site trying to get the rom, but all I can find is HTC TyTn II and not Vario III.
I was under the impression that these devices were essentially the same, BUT I get the following message when I enter my serial number on the site:
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."
I will have to dunp my rom instead I think because it's too new to be online yet, T-Mobile just upgraded it to this one a couple of weeks ago.

HTC Arrive HSPL Released. Let the Roms Flow!

Ok so the Arrive has finally gotten HSPL and now needs some Roms.
To get the HSPL go Here
To Downgrade from the Mango Update's 4.3 Bootloader Go Here
It is a pretty easy and straightforward job for the Sprint Arrive, I cannot comment on any other versions. And you must check that you have only 4.3 (or 4.X where X = any number) but the downgrade will not work without the Goldcard method if anyone has a SPL Bootloader of 5.0 or above. Just be warned. If you brick your phone, it is your own fault that you could not read these simple instructions and warnings.
Read, be patient, and be rewarded.
Test Rom
Posted test rom

This worked beautifully, both the downgrade and the HSPL. Perfect
Thanks!
This really should be Stickied for anyone coming in later to the game.

Amen.. this is a must-sticky! This thread helped me tonight with the prep-work to RSPL my Arrive. Every prospective ROM flasher MUST see this thread.
Thanks to everyone (chefs and others) who make all of this simple and possible for the rest of us... :good:
FYI, Link to download tool that downgrades SPL is broken on the rapidshare side. For those of us (me) who are just now getting around to getting away from stock, this is a dead stop.

I'm new to the whole WP thing but even though on the list for that HSPL is says the Gold_C is supported when I run the program it says it isn't. even after I downgraded the Bootloader. Anyone have any ideas on what I could do?
Much appreciated.

[Q] Help with the HTC Arrive - The Tangled Path To Custom ROMs

Hey all, I'm new here, but I've been lurking for a few days in all boards relating to WP7.8, etc.
I really do hesitate when I make this thread, because I know a lot of other people have already asked how to do this,
HOWEVER! I can't seem to pull together all of the information I need- the trail seems to go cold after a while,
I have an HTC Arrive (Gold C) on Sprint, With Mango & SPL 4.3
What I am trying to do is get to a point where I can install a 7.8 custom ROM, or simply, I'm trying to get HSPL (which, if I'm correct, requires me to downgrade to NoDo?)
After reading, it looks like the solution to my problem is to use Ansar's NoDo RUU for the Arrive, then, use the Dark Forces Team HSPL Loader to load HSPL onto my Arrive, and then finally, install a ROM like leadpoizon's Custom 7.8 ROM.
I'm pretty tech savvy, but as far as mobile devices go, the hardest thing I've ever had to do was jailbreak a few iPods, and install CFWs on PSPs.
I will openly admit, just putting this information together has been a confusing painus in the anus for me.
My problem is thus - I haven't been able to do any of this because Ansar's NoDo RUU (and, as it would seem, the rest of his RapidShare files) are all down because his bandwidth on RS ran out.
Does anybody have a copy of the NoDo RUU for the Arrive that they'd be willing to upload?
I'd be suuuper appreciative...
Thanks for your time and patience with my utter-noobliness.
I'll be sure to make a proper introductory post later, but I've got work and I'm out of time.

Hello and welcome.
Click the link in the first post of this thread and it is the 4th down, Gold C Sprint WWE 1.25 RELEASE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427907
Don't forget to delete the RUU_signed file before downgrading!
Also, you must install RSPL, then HSPL, then the custom ROM. I am using the LEAD rom and its working great!
Good luck

That's exactly what I've been looking for, I never checked out that link because the thread was titled with Gold, not Arrive, GoldC, etc...
I hope this thread helps someone like me out!
EDIT:
Where does the RUU installer place all of the files? o.o
Nevermind, got it! Everything works great on leadpoizon's ROM, aside from the HTC Hub tile, which I didn't care for to start with.
Thanks again.

HTC Arrive
I, too, am having the same problem as the original poster. Except now, the link to the thread we are being sent to is now not working. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Does this process also work for the HTC Pro7 T7576? This is the GSM version of the device where the Arrive is the CDMA one.
