Bitcasa - Infinite Storage on Your Desktop - General Topics

Hey, today I received invite to Bitacasa beta. It is supposed to be infinite cloud storage (there are some videos on yt explaining it from devs). So I am wondering, is anyone using it? Your opinions about it?
and lastly...if anyone wants, I can post referal invite link. Although I am not sure if I am allowed to

I would like to try it out. If u can do referals ill take one.

It seems I cannot post links as new member. So anyone who wants beta, just PM me your email address

It's gonna suck when the beta ends, but I think I would be willing to spend 10 bucks a month for unlimited cloud storage. That's amazing, and hell I would be spending huge more amounts of money for just 500 gigs, now I have unlimited. Unlimited memory.

[Q] Paypal Issues

Is anyone else having problems with Paypal being slow in transferring money from a bank account? I just checked my account and it shows that money has indeed been transferred to my paypal account, however, when I log onto paypal, it shows that the money is still being processed. I made a commitment to donate money to Myn for the use of his roms on the 23rd (today) which happened to be the date paypal indicated that the funds I transferred would be available. Now it is showing the 24th and I am pissed about it. Has anyone had or is having a similar experience?
You get different transfer times with different banks. Also, we are getting into that part of the year where everything is going to be a little slower than normal. Just be patient, it will be there.

Makes sense to me. I dislike it a lot when things don't go as expected. Ya know? Anyway, thank you for your reply and I hope you and your family have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to you also man. I hate waiting on things myself but at least with paypal you know it will end well. Have a good one
i have no transaction problems with my paypal account. my only concern is how quick it change its rates.
Finally, my paypal account was updated and I was able to make the promised donation. Thanks to all who replied. Happy Thanksgiving.

20 GB FREE Android streaming cloud storage @ Amazon.

This has been popping up elsewhere, and is a pretty sweet deal.
Amazon.com: Buy an MP3 Album, Upgrade to 20 GB of Cloud Drive Storage for Free
* Purchase an MP3 album from the Amazon MP3 Store by 11:59 PM PST on December 31, 2011.
* If you qualify for this offer and either have not signed up for Amazon Cloud Drive or have the 5GB Amazon Cloud Drive plan, you will be automatically eligible for the 20 GB plan for one year from the date of your MP3 album purchase. Unless you set your account to auto-renew to a paid plan, the 20 GB plan will revert to a free plan one year from the date of your MP3 album purchase.
* If your Amazon Cloud Drive account is already at 20 GB or higher when you qualify for this offer, the offer will be saved to your account as a $20 credit toward any future Amazon Cloud Drive plan fees you may incur at the time your plan renews or at the time you upgrade your plan. If you elect to downgrade your plan to a free plan at the time of renewal, your upgrade offer will be applied towards the 20 GB plan at that time.
Btw, if you guys are cheap like me, here's a 69 cent album to get 20 GB for 69 cents:
Amazon.com: Trouty Mouth (Glee Cast)
NOTE: you MUST click "Buy MP3 ALBUM" at the TOP RIGHT, NOT "Buy MP3" in the middle of the page.
Can only stream from this in the US.

Seemed like a great deal to testdrive the new service so I signed up. So far I really like it. We'll see how much I really use it though.

A lot of things I have seen on the internet are US only things. Glad I live in the states. It's not so bad over here lol. Just ignore all the things people say whats bad and just live life as it comes, the states is worth it. Especially with all these US-only things. LOVE IT
"It's not so bad over here?"
Seriously?
Anyway. I like the service, but the player is not very good. I hope it gets more features and become a little more intuitive.
if free storage is the main thing here then i use free 25GB cloud storage without buying anything.
Get Windows Skydrive account which gives you 25GB of storage and download Android App called Sorami from the Market.
it works great on my Sammy Vibrant.
Hope this helps.
i just signed up

This is a random epiphany. I'm not gonna comment on it but you probably won't be reading this news if it's not available in the country.
Anyway, nice find OP.
Great deal. Too bad it is only for the US.
This would be great if the native Cloud Player let you do more then just play music. I want to upload MP4's, MP3's, APK's, Auto sync mobile photo's, etc....

Sending information.

First of sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
I'm on holiday at the moment and I wont be going home for about 6 months and so far I have got about 5gb of photos. I would like to email these photos or send these photos home (other side of the world 15000 kilometers away). My hotmail lacks the capacity to send such large amounts of information, so I'm just wondering what would be the best way? I'd prefer internet based but if worst comes ill just have to send a few disks home.
Maybe another email provider will allow so much data to be sent? Or any other ideas would be welcomed.
Thanks
Edit: just noticed this should be in the Q+A section. But I dont think I can move it myself. Sorry.

There are a few things I can suggest to do this.
The first is to obviously copy everything onto a DVD and mail it. Next, you can try to use an online file hosting website. You can upload all your pics there, and tell someone at home to go download them for you. However, many of those sites have a limit on how much you can upload with a free account. Try like rapidshare, and such. The best possible way in my honest opinion is to get an online backup service. Yeah, it costs money, but they are pretty damn reliable. Check out Mozy. They have 50gb of space for 5.99$ a month. You can keep it or use it for a month, then cancel.
Good luck boss!

Shady craigslist ad for rooting services

These ads always bug me because of the person taking advantage of freely available information that someone may not be aware of.
http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mod/4773057159.html
That guy is advertising rooting services and unlock services at outrageous prices, trying to take advantage of people who may not know the methods are freely, and most of the time incredibly easy to do. I already blasted this guy in a response to his e-mail, and in the past a mass flooding of responses tends to get these ads taken down. If anyone wants to blast the guy too, I have posted the link above to his craigslist ad.

Sounds legit to me.....
I am not sure that getting the ad taken down will do a huge amount. All he will do is post another ad. You can never get rid of these types of trolls. Just stay clear.

I suggest one craiglist ads posting guy his Skype: ddonvonn .When I need to post ads on craigslist they guy work great and provide phone verified accounts for craigslist. You can buy verified accounts from them and can post a lot of a on CL. :good:
I'm glad that this bothers someone else. I cringe whenever I see these ads on Craigslist. Some I've seen charge upwards of $30 bucks for rooting and that doesn't even include unlocking! Also, who knows if the methods they use are safe and what they do with their “customer's" data... To make money was never the intention of we as a community do. This is just taking advantage of unknowing people who might of heard a coworker mention something about rooting. Any time I've “serviced" a friend or coworkers phone, I do not take payments. I got the resources for free.

Edit:
Holy S**T $100 FOR ROOTING?!!! What the hell?! Not to mention this guys says he can “...convert any Android phone to 5.0." What the hell?! This guy is messed up...
A part of me would be "outraged", but the other part of me would say that any idiot that's dumb enough to get taken by people like this deserves it. A fool and his money, a sucker every minute, etc. Anybody who looks for "services" on cragislist knows it's shady as sh!t.
