Since I'm a noob to XDA I couldn't post this in reply to the FCC/radio info on the CM9 thread.
All of the A2 filings are here, but unfortunately the parts are filed permanently as confidential.

Is it possible to start a petition to require only users with 500 post to post on the Developer forums, and anyone not posting according to the rules, get banned?

Hi all !
I am new here and as i used to read XDA threads to complete my knowledge and follow Faryaab for the super nexus rom.
There is something i don't understand : if i want to post in the developpment part (Super Nexus 2.0 thread for me) i need to have had posted 10 messages. I want to report a bug to help the developper but because of the rules i would have to post 10 messages anywhere before posting in the development part... But that's stupid and i don't want to do this..
So ?
Thanks
(I am French so i apologize for my english)
So you can post in 10 threads (but don't spam) or PM the developer.
But that's stupid and i don't want to do this..

If u want to do reporting pm the dev... u should have posted atleast ten before u can post in dev thread...it may seem stupid but its not sctually...othetwise noobs will come and spam easily...with this rule little spam can be avoided...if u want ten posts, post in some qa threads..lakhs of threads are there...

Hmm as a cartesian i would say a noob could come here spam 10 post and then spam in the dvpmt part :/ So actually is it really usefull ?
So i'll PM the developer and wait till my ten msg to post in the dvpmt part (build 2 may come out at the same time =D )
Thanks

New, needs help with kg v909
So I have an lg G-slate v909 and its currently got android 3.1 but id like to update it to the newest android os. I'm new and don't know how to do this manually as, from what I've been reading, is what needs to be done. I also only have this tablet and my Samsung galaxy s2 phone to access the internet and no PC access currently. I am not subscribed through tmobile just use wifi on the tablet.
Also, I am taking online classes and need to beable to access the mymathlab flash site application and am unable to do so on my tablet through any browser. If anyone could help me with that too, I would be incredibly greatful.
Thanks so much.
Samantha
Hum you're right if the noob is enough stupid to post 10msg in the same thread But stupid is just what a noob is so you should be right
Don't know how to mark the thread as resolved ..
You should seek your phone and then find a ROM using the Android version you want no ?

Hello everyone,
Sorry for beginning my activity with a post like this, but I have to.
I wish to discover rooting and installing roms on my products but some download links are malfunctionning.
I.E. I would like to get the latest rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580688
Mega is very slow and I get errors.
Could we get a DL mirror for those kind of files ? Or have I missed an alternative ?
Thanks a lot, long live xda !
HI,
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do. Since you can't post in the thread, you can't ask there. You could try sending the opening poster a private message, but he may be too busy to respond. Also, some developers don't appreciate people putting up mirror links, so again, not much you can do.
You may just need to keep trying. I believe the mega app saves your progress and will continue a download where you left off. Just keep at it. ?
Good luck!

Once you have 10 constructive posts, you can post in the development sections. Look around and contribute some meaningful posts to the community. ?
Hi and thanks for your fast answer.
I have to manage to get enough messages to participate on the rom's topic for feedback and technical questions ^^
I registered to mega and I let it all night, got the file finally.
Thanks again
Like for example: A sticky thread informing you of what variants have unlocked bootloader or not, or what devices can be rooted what not, whether it's safe to update to the latest software, etc etc you get the gist of it. This has always been my gripe with XDA since back then. I would always have to dig to find these information

And whom would create and maintain this sticky?

A few years ago a few of us started
The Index Project
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/about-xda/public-index-program-project-t3147245
But it never really went anywhere.
While several Index were created
Participation from anyone other than the OPs
Was almost nonexistent.
Very few people have the time or knowledge
To maintain such threads.

It does not really need to get maintained as much.Like for example: once X device is known to not allow bootloader unlocking, or X update won't let you downgrade thus you will lose the ability to root, etc etc. then it is established as it is. It takes a few minutes to just compile vital information on such devices. And the community for each individual device's forum should be responsible for each meta do's and don't sticky thread. Not a limited group of people who have to go to every single Android devices and compile each roms and guides like the project you linked me to. This isn't exactly what I'm proposing. Ggain, it's just a simple do's and don't/warning stick thread on each device's forums.
I mean I will be willing to make and maintain such thread in my devices' forums if this were a global rule on XDA. Because I don't want other people to make mistakes like I did just because I didn't find the information that is buried in a 100 page post.
Let me make an example. For my LGV30:
Thread title: Read me first/LGV30 Meta and Do's and Don't *sticky
+Updating to Stock PIE will require you to set your Selinux to Permissive in order to use AOSP/LOS roms
+sH932(T-mobile) is the only device with unlocked bootloader and require a more complicated root method
+US998(factory unlocked) is the preferred device because it can easily be converted to H930 which makes it compatible to all roms and overall have more support.
+Only H932 variant does not support Android 10
(etc etc...)
that wasn't so hard, if threads like this get enforced in all individual devices' forum, then it will reduce the amount of time people have to look, scavenging threads and also reduce questions all together. And also preventing people from making mistakes.

How do you propose that these threads be enforced?
This site is maintained by volunteers.
If you want a thread with a list a of devices that can be bootloader unlocked
Create it.
The threads you are referring to were not created by Moderators
But mostly by regular members.

Yes I could, but that would only be for my LGV30. What about for other devices? Besides, if I were to post this, such an unpopular idea would get buried below posts and unlikely for it to get stickied. People post guides all the time and custom roms, also take their time to help people individually who asks the same questions. So I think it's not hard to create such thread. I just want to spread awareness to help each other out.
If moderators were to spread this idea and tell users to make a meta thread about a device's do's and don't then people would be encouraged to do it. It's simply the lack of this idea is what stopping it. It's not like it's all going to be for naught. You will get 'thanks' for it, racking up your stack of 'thanks' lol.
In the end, I apologize if this idea is absurd and unnecessary . I just think that it will help everyone from the long run. Including myself. Thank you for listening to my suggestion.
