MT4GS 1.45.0013 guide! and questions for devs - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

Hey guys i have a MT4gS with the hboot 1.45.0013
i wanted to get it root it, i used the htc Unlock Bootloader from htcdev and got the bootloader unlocked, i still have the S-on,
so i tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22399877&postcount=14
and got the clockwork recovery working and finallly i wanted the superuser
so i tried this,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433805
just downloaded the superuser flashable zip and it Worked,
So now my phone has the super user user and clockwork recovery , and i tried to apply a rom, i tried this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493380 and it work i got the miui booting screen and the miui rom working but i had some problems with my signal and some apps crashed, but i was so happy that at least a rom was kinda working!!
so i tried both of the ICS roms but i got stock in the Tmobile my touch slide screen. i tried all the kernels and no luck, any ideas of why is this? or what else can i do? am i doing something wrong?, do i really need the S-off??
i hope this can help someone. thanks to all de devs , for their great work!!

yeah i did, but this only happens with ICS roms, the miui worked just fine,

Consider yourself lucky. I haven't be able to flash any ROMs yet. My phone just boot loops.

I'm also having this problem. All the GB ROMs work fine, but anything ICS related is broken. The only ICS-ish ROM that has worked is Undeadk9's GB/ICS frankenstein but I decided I wanted to keep using Sense.

Ok, in that case it sounds like you're unlocked (maybe through HTC) but not S-OFF.
If that's the case you just need to push the boot.img from the rom you're installing through fastboot.
I can post a quick walkthrough on this if you need.

Im just at a lose here really wanted to try it out, guess im just stuck wit sessimo & RCTeam Sense 4.0 untill one of them come out with an update!!!

Try installing SuperWipe before flashing the ROM.
The zip can be found at the end of this post.
Strange suggestion but you could try an older version of 4ext, I have heard others with the same problem, try 1.0.0.4 RC4.

I found out what it was...when I would take out all the ringtones & notifications to swap them for my own it would change the md5 checksum, and thats why it would not boot past splash screen. That has never happened to me b4 though so i didn't think that was the problem, seeing as i do this for every rom I flash so that when I plug up my phone to the computer it does not change my ringtone just because they are on the sd and not the phone!!! But thankx everyone for the help...i really appreciate it!!!

[Q] Rogers HTC One X Loading Custom Roms

I'm thinking about romming an HTC One X for Rogers and I've tried looking up information about installing custom roms. I know I need to unlock the bootloader first and that TWRP is likely the easiest method in order to rom. But I've read some conflicting things. Does it matter which version of the software I have? There just seems to be multiple guides.
Would this guide work?
h t t p:// theunlockr.com/2012/06/05/how-to-install-twrp-2-1-recovery-on-att-and-rogers-htc-one-x/
I'm happy to do the research, but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

The version of software do matter. Currently 2.20 is un rootable if you did not unlock bootloader on earlier version
Here is the link which you need follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26512322

Thabnk, I did read through part of that but I don't see anything there for version 1.94?
You can root and unlock 1.94 then flash recovery and rom fine.
Rogers HTC One X can be unlocked through the HTCdev site. Once the bootloader is unlocked you can install TWRP and flash any evita rom you want.

Any variant of the HOX can be bootloader unlocked via HTCDev except for the AT&T version. Firmware numbers for you will not matter in the slightest.

So I was able to unlock the bootloader. To install TWRP I installed GooManager and Installed "OpenRecoveryScript".
When I try to reboot the phone into recovery, nothing happens.
Is there a guide how to use TWRP. Most of the guides seem pretty basic, but I don't even know if I have it installed properly. I'm trying to install ViperX

Nevermind. I just installed using command prompt following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1814914 this guide. Thanks Athrun88!
Is there a specific directory I should be putting the roms in order to install them or does it not matter?

hey! that's my guide! haha, glad to see my first real contribution be somewhat of a success.
As long as it's in the root directory (not in a folder) of the internal SDcard, you'll be fine. Also, make sure you make a backup of your stock ROM just in case you need to go back to it.
Another thing, copy down your APN settings (word by word) from your stock ROM. Not sure if Rogers is the same as Telus, but Telus needs two APNs to get LTE enabled. If you could PM those to me as well, I could add them to my guide as well. Thanks.
Ughhh. Tried to install ViperX 2.6.0 using TWRP however it didn't work. Says Checking Model ID then "assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")==
Any ideas?

I think that will be the first one I will install. So I have backed up my original default Rogers/HTC backup using TWRP and will download titanium backup?
Anything else you can/would recommend before I proceed?

So if you would like toto back up your apps than yes u can use titanium but yes make a back up sounds like u already did of your stock rom ...download viper 2.00 put it on your SD where you'll remember. To find it ... Once in twrp hit wipe menu ...wipe system ..factory reset ...and wipe dalvic cache than go back to the home menu in twrp and click install and find viper and this is very important since you wiped system you'll see in viper menu flash stock kernel or install rom ...hit install rom and go from there if you don't you'll be stuck. At. HTC dev screen and have to get back into recovery

One last important thing in case u didn't know
If you're ever stuck in bootloop this will do the trick to get into bootloader and back to recovery
Turn on, hold power 10-15 seconds, until screen goes black, let off, press n hold volume down, press power just 2-3 seconds, let off power button but continue holding vol. Down
LoL wow, already done. Using the rom now.
Wow, that was easy. Not sure if I should have checked some of the options (like one to enable exchange mail, and another for better sound). But it was so easy I guess I can always just redo it.
Was starting to think rooting maybe wasn't worth it (last root I did was on the original Nexus). Just going through all the features on ViperX, I'm glad I did.

How far have you got? Have you unlocked the bootloader through fastboot?
Once that's done it's fairly easy. Just fastboot flash a custom recovery. I recommend Team Rogues recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235170
then reboot the device, but go into recovery before the device boots or the recovery is overwritten. To get into recovery: power on, 2 seconds later press the down button, then press the up button once you see 'Android Recovery'
Then flash the zip I have attached to root the device. Choose the JB one if you're on jelly bean, anything else, so honeycomb or ICS use the other one.
From there it's the same as any other device. Backup apps etc, make a nandroid, wipe data/factory reset, install CM10

That's something to do with CM reads the device as XOOM but on stock a wingray is MZ604 so if I remember rightly that's what causes the status 7, to get around it, once rooted use a build prop editor to change your model to XOOM not MZ604. I think that's the way to get around it if my memory serves me well

Don't me hold to it, but I seem to remember others getting status 7 errors and it was just to do with how the CM zip reads your device. You can also turn off script verification in android recovery. I think that was also another solution

[Q] Please help unbrick???!!!!

Here is what I did....
HTC One X (ATT). Unlocked and rooted yesterday. (TWRP)
Today tried to install CM10 and GApps, got stuck on CM bootscreen, then I flashed the boot.img and it still did not work....then my immediate next step (probably stupidly) was to flash modded boot...still did not work....I just got to HTC screen with the red writing on the bottom and nothing else....
So I got into TWRP and restored to my backup (which I was able to do before the above) and just got to the same HTC screen with red type on the bottom......now I started to panic.
I tried to relock the phone...and I did but now I cant go anywhere but the fastboot screen!!!!
Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you relocked already just run the ruu in fastboot and restore to stock.

Just read read and read more..be comfortable first than you'll be fine and know how to get out of any situation
Just read up and give it another go.....like anything else, sometimes you need certain thing to happen to learn....good luck.
Just saying, you flashed the boot.img after flashing the rom and gapps? The boot.img is flashed before flashing the rom
It can be done either way.
ive been seeing alot of new members soft bricking this way should read though this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957193 it explains every thing for ppl on hboot 1.14 and higher.

That is what is supposed to happen. Once you relock, you need to run the RUU. It won't boot otherwise.
I am unlocked and rooted again.....ready to try again...
I want to leave the phone alone but I cant help myself.......Anyone else have this issue???
I know what you mean, when i first got my one x and learned of rooting, i felt i was claustrophobic with normal stock. I Read and read and read some more, before I even thought about flashing roms. But I Recommenced flashing Viper JB 3.1.0 As it basically installs the boot img in the boot-loader for you. I also recommend Cm 10.1, except it does not have camera working as of yet. If you dont mind not having a camera, cm 10.1 is a very smooth rom. Also remember if flashing certain roms like cm 10. dalvik, cache and factory reset, as well as flashing the boot img are required for the rom to work. Good luck

I have gone through the other threads that looked similar to this problem but I found nothing that worked there.
HBOOT - 1.27.0000
S-On
Unocked.
I went through the stages on the HTC website, got everything set up with Super User . I then backed-up and went to load up CM 9.
It basically just hangs in the little boot animation.
I tried using superclean (I think it was called that) It did not work.
I can get into the bootloader and clockworkmod touch but I cannot seem to get an image to work.
I tried one of the CM nightlies and it just hung at it's animation boot up screen also.
Can anyone help me please?

Hi,
You don't need a superwipe scriptm As you have s-on, you just flash boot.img inside the ROM.zip through fastboot, in this way:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
SENT FROM WHATEVER IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE LOCKED AT, THE THING IS THAT IT IS SENT.
