[Q] adjusting touchscreen after getting phone wet - General Questions and Answers

I dropped my phone in the bath tub. the far right side of my touch screen does not work. This is not a big problem with stock sense keyboard, I still have the 'P' key but if I try to use any other keyboards (swiftkey X, my fav) I have to rotate to landscape to press 'P' (or pull down menu). Is there anyway to fix this? The problem happens regardless of the rom I use so I was wondering if there is a way to remap the touch screen or just shift the keyboard over a bit so I can have my 'P' with swiftkeyX. It's the EVO 4G. Thanks for your input even if this is a lost cause ;-)

Disable auto rotate when keyboard open?

So I managed to drop my phone the other day. I've noticed that since the drop it wont rotate to portrait mode. I'm 99.9% positive that it is a hardware problem. If I hold the phone upright and open the keyboard about 1/4th of an inch it will rotate. So I'm guessing that its a problem within.
So now for the question. On CM5.0.8T4 Is there a way to disable the rotation when the keyboard is out? Basically giving the accelerometer full control of orientation.
Sorry if this is in another place, I've been searching for days now and haven't found any solution.
Thanks.

Lock Screen Help

I have been playing with my Hero mods all day, and have a new question that I a sure has a simple answer, it is just escaping me finding it On my lock screen, I have two "slider" buttons.. One is to unlock the screen, the other is to change the ringer/vibrate/silent controls. I have accidentally turned off the ringer w/o knowing it via sliding the ringer/vibrate/silent controls while it was in my pocket. How do i change the lock screen so that slider is not present?
I am using CM6.1 w/ADW Launcher on a Sprint Hero (CDMA). The slider buttons go from right to left and left to right (not up or down).
Any help on this issue is helpful.... Also, in addition to how to change/remove it, is the issue related to CM6 or ADW? Thanks!
Wrong section. -1 for you. And as for your question, I don't think you can do that.

[Q] S2U2 - don't want hardware keys locked on call

I am using the application S2U2 on the htc touch 2. How do I prevent the application from locking the hardware keys as well as the screen?
On receiving a call I want to be able to press the end call/power key to end the call rather than having to slide to unlock and then enter password - which is highly inconvenient.
Hope someone can help

Disable home screen button when keyboard open??

I did some searching to see if this was possible on android and couldn't find any good info.
I am still not used to onscreen keyboards and on the One S in particular I keep hitting the home button when I type (it has happened twice since I started writing this)
Am I the only one with this problem? Does anyone know of a way to disable the home button when the keyboard is up?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
It seems like a good idea, but is probably very hard. The home button is kinda coded to work the same way always, regardless of what app is open
Yea I kinda pressed the home button too at first but just practice typing without trying to hit the home button and you should be all set, its not easy to type without pressing the home button but it takes some time to get used to...

It's damn near impossible! Been using touchscreen keyboard on different phones for years (how I miss my G1), and never had this problem...I feel like Homer trying to phone his children in that one episode of the Simpsons...."mash the keypad to continue"
Try SwiftKey keyboard, it detects where spaces go so you don't need to press space

[Q] Screen Button "Detection Region" Problem

I really love the Nexus 5, But I have noticed that when trying to use the bottom row of buttons on the keyboard It aperantly detects one of the 3 on screen buttons and does what ever that button does! Which is a P.I.T.A. when your trying to type!
After the first few times of it doing it I thought something was wrong with my keyboard but after being a little more carefull and watching where I was touching the screen it definately has a invisible detection line for the buttons thats a tad too tall!? [I hope this is proper name for the description IDK the tech lingo for this]
Device info:
Stock Nexus 5
swype [paid] keyboard
portrait mode
Thanks in advance.

Never heard of that happening.
