Thank you very much
PS: i'm french, sorry for fails
Are you using ClockworkMod Recovery? If so, try using ROM Manager to download and flash a MIUI ROM and see how you get on then.
Thank you ! With that, it runs perfect

First of all wrong place to post problem.
Secondly, it is clear that you dont know anything about hboot of your phone and the rom your donwloading....
Stock hboot only supports rom for stock hboot.
As you are new to this stuff, im assuming you are test driving HTC Sense roms, which almost always require a 2nd sd-card partition as sd-ext in ext2/3/4 format. Which you probably dont have, so your getting bootloops. No other reasons i can think of.
Go read about "sd-ext" and "hboots", or explain your problem and your phone config in more detail so i can help more.
Regards
Yasir
Hello, long time reader, first time poster. I know about rooting, and installing roms and all that good stuff (had a galaxy s2 but odin bricked it). So I'm new to the sensation, and it's quite different from my previous device. My problem is that when I install a custom rom, the phone will boot and all about after about 30 seconds will freeze and restart.
Okay so these are the steps that I followed:
-Used the KGS Utility and chose "s-off"
-Followed all the prompts everything worked out fine.
-Following that I used it to install a custom recovery.
-Followed the prompts everything worked fine.
-Then I used Revolutionary CWM to flash SuperUser.
-App was there on reboot.
-Then I downloaded the AOKP "Initiate Your Swagger"[4.1.2] Rom
-Put it on my SD card and flashed it (after wiping and backing up)
-When the phone boots the setup wizard starts.
-I follow the prompt and when it gets to "Just a sec" the phone freezes then restarts.
Don't know what the problem is here.
I get the same problem when trying to flash CM10. The phone will boot, but then after 20-30 seconds will reboot.

What am I doing wrong?

Be VERY specific and give a step by step detail of what you are doing to install. Give WAY more detail than you have. And put the detail in a list, not a giant paragraph.
Then we'll look at it and see what's missing.

Sorry about that. Edited my first post. I hope that is enough.
When you say it boots for 20 seconds, what exaclty for you mean.
Does it just replay the boot animation over and over? Or does it actually bring you to a home screen with the status bar and everything for 20 seconds before the reboot? That's a very important difference in diagnosing this one.
Also try installing 4EXT recovery. CWM has been known to cause weirdness with AOSP roms. Plus you may have an older version of CWM thatcan't properly install the newer roms. If you used a .zip in bootloader to flash CWM yuou probably had an older version. I have a special place in my heart for CWM too, but 4EXT is just so much better for the Sensation. (Different recoveries ar ebetter or worse on different devices.)
If you properly installed superuser on your stock rom that you have a nandroid backup for, installing 4EXT is super easy. Just restore the nandroid, which should boot up without problems, download the 4EXT app from the play store, and use the app to install teh latest version of the recovery. No need for ADB or flashing in bootloader. Then try a full wipe and fresh install of AOKP from 4EXT.

It boots up to the homescreen (with no signal) then it reboots.
I will try 4EXT and post my results. Thanks for your help thus far!
EDIT: Tryed installing 4EXT now when I try to boot into recovery it shows the HTC spash screen, then it reboots back the homescreen. So I think my recovery is gone.
EDIT 2: So I got the 4EXT recovery installed. But the ROMs are giving me the same issues (no change). I also noticed as before, when the custom roms boot there isn't any cellular signal.

Update the firmware.. You are on gingerbread firmware (revolutionary soff worked for you means you are on GB) and it won't work on ics/jb roms
Check the firmware thread by kohr-ah in sensation development section and flash universal 3.33 firmware
It will solve your rom problems

try and report back
thank you so much!!! worked like a charm!
So, I recently got an HTC Desire S with H-Boot version 2.00.0002 and thus I could not use Revolutionary Tool to root it. The alternative to HTCDev unlock would be to use RUUs to downgrade the H-Boot but I could not figure out which RUU to select in the list at shipped-roms. Thus I HTC Dev unlocked it thinking that the only problem would be having to flash the boot.img of the rom I install separately.
But when I flashed Cyanogen Mod 10 and flashed the file, the rom worked. I had to restart it but i found that no matter what rom i install, the phone always boots to the recovery! I tried it with multiple roms includind the Xperia rom, and roms based on CM. Then I tried the Virtuous rom with the same result. Then I tried the Saga3d rom and it rebooted sucessfully!!!
Thinking the problem was solved, I flashed the CM 10 JB rom I wanted again but it once again booted to recovery when I rebooted it. Seems like the only way I can make them reeboot is to flash the boot.img file again and again! A thread suggested flashing 4ext recovery but the same thing happened. I even tried to reflash the Saga3d rom but it didn't reboot this time!!!
So after careful but failed research, i created this question. Can anyone help me? I think a new RUU with an earlier (0.9*) H-Boot would help but I don't know how to pick one!!! I'll post some pics and hope anyone will suggest me an RUU or other solution.
THANKS IN ADVANCE.
(P.S I'm using a custom rom right now (reaper) cuz I don't know how to find the stock)
Anyone?

Hi,
Thanks for the response but the problem is I don't know which one of these RUUs to select. I can't seem to find where to look for what are their supported cidnums, or build number, or software number. Thats why I hoped a pro would help me select one. My cidnum is HTC_001.
Thanks again. :good:
First of all i am having big troubles with soft bricked villec2 H-32 no stock or firmare no where, and then found answer for now in trickdroid ROM,that is stock and worked for me but i wanted more rom-s to try,and for all of u who do not want to s off ville i did it like this and just instaled Venom rom and works normal. first i have twrp touch recowery, and had to mount sd card and system, put the rom in recovery and just flash it as it is,then do not reboot go back to recovery and reboot in bootloader, from Venom (i use that one)rom extract it and u will found under kernel folder boot.onesc2 and flash that one with (QTADB again i am using it is very easy to use),then go to recovery and reflash the rom and reboot normal it should be working now.
Guys if u all know about this please wipe thread,i will be glad to help anyone with this.
sorry bad bad english
notice- following this steps will jump over tampered stucked booting screen, and boot normal.
and u will need every time when reebootin phone to flash over again boot.onesc2,and will not lose data reboot normal again.
thanks Trickdroid for instructions in first place, this is from that post but i tried on Venom rom and works.
Again thank to all of u guys for great tolls and rom-s
