Quadrant 2.0 - Verizon Droid Charge

So the new quadrant app is actually somewhat useful. It breaks down the score by category.
Here is what I got the first time I ran it:

This is on eclipse 1.3 with pbj kernel and max frequency at 800mhz and conservative governor.
Obviously i have a low cpu score, but somehow i have a massive lead in i/o over nexus s and gnex but not the tab. Do they still use rfs or something? Also everything has a substantial lead in 2d/3d over the gnex, which is strange considering they all have the same gpu and the gnex is clocked faster.

There must be a glitch, or they are not showing the right scores for the other devices. I got scores in the 2100's, better than the galaxy nexus!

anyone notice the test takes a lot longer now?

Yeah probably because the test is meant for new phones with 1ghz single core/higher speed dual core processors, not like OG Droid and HTC Hero.

Transformer prime gets around 4000, yikes

I've always found AnTuTu to be a better benchmark. It didn't suffer the seemingly random variability that Quadrant suffered. I'll have to check out the new version of Quadrant to see how it is.

Quadrant Scores

Hey everybody I'd like to start a thread to show off your T-Bolt Quadrant Scores. I'm using Drod's 1.8 Ghz kernel, and I'm hitting 2500+ consistantly. This phone is wicked fast, and I see it only getting better. So everyone, if you will, follow suit....

Post Your Highest Quadrant Standard Scores!

My score is 2400.. The only phone ive seen higher is the Atrix 4G..
Let me know your scores on the G2x!!
Highest score I've gotten is 2732, although the highest one i have a screenshot of is 2724. I posted it in the lg g2x benchmark thread a while ago.
EDIT: just ran it on the leaked gingerbread rom and got 2805
I dunno much about benchmarking android devices, I assume it's like running one on a PC where you really want to do it with a clean install and nothing unnecessary running. If that's the case, then my phone ought to be able to do much better than this.

earlier today on my 3rd or 4th run.
The g2x would get a much much better score in quadrant if it didn't score so low in the 2d test. It seems to score the same in the 2d test as most single core devices at around 19fps. If you look at the individual test part scores you can see that the difference in the g2x score and the sgsII score is about the difference in the 2D test score.
I can get over 2800 with EagleBlood 1.03 Gingerbread. I turn on Airplane mode, turn off auto sync, and turn on wi-fi, and get over 2800 easily.
G2x at 1.3 GHz, using quad std you can.t see the tint I/O score compared to my higher scoring NS. Any other quad i will thus post from quad adv.
I/O really kills the avg at ~1400 vs ~4500

I am getting anywhere from 2300 to 2500 when I run quadrant on my G2x.
Got a 2921 out of mine. Pretty good!
This is one of the lowest I've experienced, but who counts quadrant scores? How about smartbench 2011 for our type of phones?? Neocore scores too. Power!!
While I was installing all my apps, no less.

Hard ?, idk. If it just gets warm, then just simply underclock it. That is what i do lol. If your playing a game, then it may get warm on stock settings but prob not. Another thing i recommend, do not always leave it overclocked. It will ruin the phone after a while, mine is only overclocked when im doing tests lol. I have heard of i9000s and such dying out after like a year being overclocked at 1.6 all the time.
what is your governor on?
correct me if im wrong but if you use on demand it will only use 1.6GHz when needed so when just sliding through homescreens it will not use as much
and will thi device really die if i overclock it for too long?

Just to save you from posts about Quadrant scores, I'll say that in general, quadrant scores aren't a solid indicator of phone performance. There are so many factors that can be artificially tweaked that it's not reliable. If you're really interested, there are posts floating around on XDA that go into more detail about this issue.
The biggest factor is how your phone feels to you - if it's snappy and blazing fast in all apps you run, that's infinitely better than a high Quadrant score.

RAM overclock

Hi everyone, I was looking at the snapdragon 800 family CPUs, and I've noticed that the most used of them are the 8974 (the nexus 5 should have this one) and the 8974AB models. the only differences between them are the frequencies of GPU and RAM. the AB model has 100MHz more for the GPU (450MHz vs 550MHz) and 133MHz more for the RAM (800MHz 12.8Gbps vs 933MHz 14.9Gbps). the GPU overclock is a common feature in many custom kernels, therefore I was wondering if it's possible to overclock the RAM's frequency. I know it would be absolutely useless to do so, I'm just asking it out of curiosity.
thanks everybody
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I guess it would be possible, but I haven't come across any kernel that does that, seems overkill though, especially with the performance of the Snapdragon 800.
sent from xda premium app
there's no doubt that, on a high end device/CPU, overclocking the RAM's frequency would waste a lot of battery for a little improvement, as the GPU overclock does IMHO.
But, since the GPU overclock is common, while I've never seen a kernel with RAM overclock, and both are quite useless (except for benchmarking), I wasn't sure that the RAM overclock was possible on android.
Thanks for answering
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Ya, K | N G P | N is just overkiller. Let's say we would like to overclock it for same reason as guy I mentioned - to beat scores in benchmark just for fun.
I saw benchmark of Qualcomm MSM8974 Tablet. MSM8974 was 40℅ worse than i5-3317U/HD4000.
But they had 4.3 AOSP on it. I think that with CyanogenMod 11, linaro, -O3, Kernels, new Adreno libraries, overclocking and many more tweaks we can increase that performance and lower that gap between lowpower ARM SoC and notebook x86_64 CISC CPU. Just for fun.
Wow
I've only found stupid answers coming from knowledgeable people: it's not worth it, it's gossipy and almost never leads to the title. I suggest to immediately prevent useless answers and only answer about how to overclock RAM.
