I was messing with my tab and rooted it then tried to flash a rom on from clockwork. I then kept getting an error and the tab kept doing a continuous boot up loop. The tab eventually died and will not state up again. Any pointers on how I can get it charged up and if I can do I just try and use Odin which I was trying til it got to late and I went to sleep. I did see on the internet that someone has a way to take it apart and then charge it up and then just put it back together. Or should I just take it to best buy and say it won't charge anymore..it has been over 2 months however.

What "rom" (it's not a ROM. It's firmware) did you try flashing? Which "clockwork" did you try flashing from? The CWM Recovery (which is posted in the development subforum) or the clockworkmod "ROM Manager"?
Yeah I bought Rom manager pro and tried to install one of the roms from there. Worked I. The past just not for that tab. I select the three choices to install and boot into recovery mode. Delete partion and install from sdcard and it would normally boot up. That time I just hung on the boot screen then restarted. I was trying to but cyanogen on the tab.

You really should have read the "sticky" thread at the top of the galaxy tab plus general subforum. The one that you see at the top of the list any time you view the list of messages.
Actually, you didn't even really have to read the thread. Just seeing the title in the message list would have been enough. It's titled:
"** FAQ and useful info ** Do NOT use "Rom Manager" with these devices"
Had you clicked that, the very first thing you'd have seen would be:
Unless and until it is listed as a supported device, ROM Manager will not work properly on the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, or any other device.

You might be able to restore your device with ODIN, but first you'll have to get your battery to take a charge. Leaving it on the wall charger that the device came with for a few hours might do the trick. Or it might not. You might be able to boot into recovery... if so, leave it in recovery while it's charging (as your primary normal boot kernel appears to be messed up.)
If you can't boot into ODIN (download) mode, you might be completely out of luck.
I tried today after a while and it actually turned on so I left in that screen used with Odin. I need to make sure I have the correct firmware for the tab plus then I will retry Odin. Is there a link on a step by step to get it back correct?

Hey well, to start things off I was trying to unlock my T-Mobile SGS4G to work with AT&T but it turns out it needs to be rooted first. I have rooted before and this is the first time I have ran into a problem.
What I did first:
I used Heimdall in an attempt to flash CWM Recovery so I can gain root access. For some reason the zImage was bad (?) and my phone could only get to the T-Mobile logo and then freeze.
Recovery and Download DID work
What I did second:
I used odin3 to flash back a stock T-Mobile rom in hope to fix things... and it did everything succesfully but now it's stuck in a real boot loop.
Can't get into Recovery, nor Download. It's really depressing to keep seeing that battery show over and over again.
Any ideas on how to get my computer to detect my phone again?
Thanks.
Edit:
I did every button combination + usb plug combination known to man. I uninstalled and installed the files again.
Did my phone brick because I ticked the partition tab on odin?
PLEASE help.
Our phone IS NOT the Vibrant. Hopefully someone can help you, but... I don't know. If you flashed OUR stock rom, with bootloaders... you're screwed. But, the fact you have images on your screen, should give you some hope.
Yea, I saw that, but the title says he has a vibrant. I don't know....
Head to the vibrant forum there are some un-brick tools over there...you need to get it in download mode use odin to flash stock froyo vibrant rom.. Should get it back up and running

Just to verify, pull out your battery and check if you have the SGH-T959V
One of the "download jigs" may help once you are certain which phone you have and what firmware and ROM you need to flash. You can make your own with a resistor and a microUSB plug, I bought one for $8.00, delivered, (I now see they have them on Amazon for $4, Super Saver eligible) and others have had good luck with even cheaper ones on eBay.
Also: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9403915
Jigs are cheap and unless you got the right resistor lying around buy a ready made one. Also if the phone shows up in odin you can download something whatever picture shows up on the screen. Raver has a thread about using heimdall to fix the boot files but its about six months old. Worked for me once. It might even be indexed in the bible under development.

I had rooted my Galaxy S3 VW version to 4.0.4. and tried to flash an Eclipse Rom to it and somehow I soft bricked it and can't get it to do anything. I have searched all over these forums and can't get anywhere.
At this point I just have a headache.
Go to droidstyles guide under stickies in android development. Find the guide to Odin back to stock.

Just in case you didn't read them or droidstyle's guide the problem you're having is cause you used either version 1.3 or 1.4 of EZ-Unlock. If you'd read droidstyle's guide you would have known to use version 1.2 or lower to unlock it. As the posters above me said, you're going to have to use Odin to go back to stock and start from the beginning again.
This time follow droidstyle's guide and you won't have a problem. I try not to be rude to newbies, because we have ALL been there, but this was just plain lazy on your part man. Even when I was a newbie I researched almost everything before I posted a question about it.

Alright.. I just got confused by the 300 stickies and threads on the site, but thank you for pointing out that I needed the version 1.2 or lower to unlock it. I downloaded it and put it in a folder on my computer... I tried to start from the 6th section on droidstyle's guide (Odin to stock) but I am stuck on the green android screen with the words "Downloading... Do not turn off target!! and no comport number on the upper left of the GS3 screen... ODIN Mode is in red at the top. I just can't get past this step when I try everything. IDK what I am doing wrong.
First time I saw it say that on my phone I about s**t my pants
Flashed root66 through odin (I had to find the 'right' version of odin to get it to work) then it workes. No more system software not authorizes. The unlocked my bootloader after realizing that was the problem.

Firstly you need to be using Odin version 3.07 .
You're going to plug your phone in first and then you're going to start Odin. I think, if I remember correctly, the comport pulls up in red. Then you are going to leave all the little check boxes alone, the only 2 that should be selected are Auto reboot and F. Reset Time and they are already selected when you start Odin. Then you are going to click on the PDA button and select the file you downloaded to flash and find the file you downloaded and select it. Then just press start, it will seem like its frozen towards the end of flashing, but its not DO NOT unplug your phone unless you want a pretty paperweight. That should be all you have to do. ALSO there won't be a comport number on your phones screen, only on the Odin screen, and like I said above I am pretty sure that the comport number is always in red but you need to make sure the stock ROM you downloaded to flash in Odin was one of the ones in Droidstyle's guide only.
I know there are a ****load of stickies but they aren't confusing they're there to keep something like this from happening, its generally best to ask questions first if you don't know what you're doing or just read through all of the stickies that pertain to what you're trying to do. When I first was trying to figure out how to unlock and flash for the very first time I read every sticky and post in the development section that had anything to do with my phones specific processes. That's how I learned what to do, even the stuff I didnt need to know at the time I still read just because I might need it one day.

It's pretty easy once your phone says downloading it shwould be in download mode. Open Odin from the link provided In droidstyles guide and comport should have a number marked in yellow. Mine said comport 0:5 then leave everything alone click on pda and look for the stock Rom that you downloaded the stock 4.0.4 Rom should be 1.2 gigs. Once you click start wait about 5-10 minutes then it shoold reboot your device. Mostlikely you will be stuck in the 4g screen just wait 5 minutes if it doesn't change take out the battery and plug it back in then hold volume+power+home buttons and boot into the android recovery and wipe data. Reboot and you should be good to go.

Hi, can somebody please help me?
I tried to use Odin to return from a custom rom to a stock rom and after following the instructions to do so, something happened and now im getting the following:

CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (1: counts)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
firmare upgrade encountered an issue.
Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again
and now my phone only boots to this message
.
I am using ODIN 1.85 and it seams like it can read my phone but gets stuck on <ID:0/004>Setup Connection...
I was following this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398

Hey guys, I dont have the exact problem, but i do think my skyrocket i727 is also soft bricked. Ive been researching allot since i dont know too much, and i dont wanna risk my phone dying on me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. While at work (currently deployed, so i can't go into an AT&T store) i used my friends charger to charge my phone. Ok, i put it were all the sockets are, that i always use and have not had any issues with. And it didnt charge, so i plugged it into my friends laptop. I see on my phone the blinking battery, and continue to use my gtalk. Had to step out to work, disconnected the charger and continued on with my day. A few hours later i took my phone out and noticed it kept on vibrating while the screen was black. Took the battery off put it back and nothing. Then took the battery out for like 2 3 hours, and again nothing. It will jus go to the 1st samsung logo, then to the second and go black, then vibrates every other second. I'm going crazy because i dont have a memory card and am soo terrified of losing my pictures and videos. I have read and have had the guys i work with help me, and one friend downloaded the Odis program, but before i use it, i just want to make sure theres nothing else I can do. Again ive read the steps, understand them, but will it delete my pictures?? I apoligize for the length of my thread, just trying to give as much detail as possible. I have never tried to modify my phone, so its still in its original form. Please help. Thank you in advance. Have agreat day

Just a wild guess, but me thinks your bootloader is still locked! But I'm not sure that will even apply because I rooted my device before unlocking the bootloader. But I rooted my device via ODIN first.
You can try EZ-Unlock via the Market. The GUI is still very buggy and will show the status as unknown but the internal workings of the app works good.
You got nothin to loose in trying. Go back to stock and give it another whirl after you've unlocked the bootloader.
Of that fails then I would suggest using the tried and true method..ODIN.
G'luck!
yup your bootloader is still locked
check the downloads thread and use version 1.2.
That means your boatloader is locked. You now must Odin back to stock and start over. Droid style has a guide stickied in the development thread. Follow section 6 of it.
Next time use ez unlock version 1.2 to unlock you boatloader.

Hi, I have a Verizon S3 flashed to Boost Mobile. I tried to gain root by flashing a stock rooted Rom and messed up the flash. I had to take it back to be flashed again Now I'm more cautious before hand. I should have backed it up before attempting it, I know I know lol can anyone shed some light on how to update a flashed phone as well as how to root it. I could really use the help
Also after I messed up the boost flash I paniced and flashed a sprint kernel hoping this would fix the problem. Since then anything that I've tried to view including taking camera shots and web browsing if done in landscape mode will be upside down, any remedy for this problem? I know now... root first, flash later.

Hi, I have a Verizon S3 flashed to Boost Mobile. I tried to gain root by flashing a stock rooted Rom and messed up the flash. I had to take it back to be flashed again Now I'm more cautious before hand. Sprint kernel is causing the inversion. Flash a vzw kernel. Read first flash later.

Who ever did your flash might not done it right cause ya not supposed to lose a flash like that unless he didn't do things right. I can factory reset mine and I wont loose flash

I tried installing a ROM i found on this forum but when i went to reboot and turn back on a warning messege appeared saying something along the lines that the OS was blocked by verizon wireless and i had to bring my phone to the nearest store. It wouldnt reboot into recovery it just kept flashing back to the messege. Im not sure what i did but i managed to boot the phone into something called ODIN mode? It asked me if i wanted to install some firmware in which i assumed was the finishing process to the ROM installation but now its just hungup at the "Downloading...Do not turn off target!!" screen. Im not sure what to do from here any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

First, relax if you're nervous. There is nothing wrong. You didn't unlock your bootloader before flashing the rom, that's why the message is there. Read some of the threads (I'm mobile so I can't link but I'm sure there stickied in one of the sections) about restoring to stock. Grab the Odin file and read a tutorial if the thread doesn't have one on how to flash it. It's just another method of flashing to stock. I would give you step by steps if I wasn't on my phone in bed, if you still need help tomorrow hit me with a pm and ill help you as soon as I get home from school. I can get you familiar with the important things about rooting and flashing on this phone.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it okay to power off the phone if it says its downloading still. And my phone used to be rooted until the OTA updated it to 4.0.4 for some reason it completely slipped my mind to unlock the bootloader again.
You aren't downloading unless you've hooked your phone to your computer and have run Odin
