Pin lock lockscreen - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

This is probably a stupid question but I like using the pin lock but I hate that you have to tap ok after you enter it. Is there anyway to take out having to tap ok or any apps you guys prefer to use.
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app

How can I have a lockscreen and pin I have been trying to figure this out, like one of the default ones on black final vahalla and not one from like launcherpro which resets itself when you restart your phone, kind of different question i think but also similar don't wanna make another thread.

Kinda off topic here, but I wanna voice my opinion on these types of "security locks". I find them to be absolutely useless.
Reason: When you Odin a ROM over, everything gets erased. I'm sure everybody has friends who have phone knowledge. They can just get a friend to Odin any ROM over and your locks are gone.

I know but I want to prevent someone from going into my phone and viewing my texts and facebook, and I know that person has no knowledge with phone software or anything only way for him to get in is to know the security lock, as I want the pleasure and look of the lockscreen + security lock if its possible right now you can only have security lock.

To better put my question I want a similar pin lock to how the iPhone is you just enter the 4 digits and it unlocks without hitting ok. And do t say go buy an iPhone cause I don't want one just the pin lock

I think this is the second, third??? time you have asked this.
Here you go. There is always more than one way to do things. This is one way. I use Go Launcher Ex as my launcher. There is a lockscreen app that can go with Go Launcher called GO Locker. GO Locker gives you the option to have a lockscreen and pin.

I had this issue also. However, I bootlooped my phone this morning messing with my bootloaders against FB's recommendation and had to start fresh with everything - Bootloaders, ROM, kernel (i.e. no more gremlins) - and have not had the issue since.
You can start with fixing permissions. But I am assuming my issue was caused by gremlins.

See what you mean. I suppose those are possibilities of what the app could do based on it's permissions. Still, I would not be surprised at another Carrier IQ type of app. I dodged the bullet since my Captivate didn't have Carrier IQ as far as I know.
It looks like Ready2Go is for setting up your phone from the computer. Probably why it needs all those permissions.
I guess they don't want you to disable it in case someone accidentally does and is no longer able to customize their phone from their computer.
edit:
It's just an app that lets you set up your phone on your computer. Learn to Google.

I was wondering about whether those are definitions, or based on the (very poorly written- definitely translated) little blurb about security following each one, maybe this is some sort of security/verification app that checks the activity of processes on the phone.
Still it is pretty encroaching...
I've gotten responses before from their Google+ page (unlike Facebook and Twitter accounts), here's to hoping... Maybe we can spam their main page/posts as well until they at least address it...

Really liking this one so far. The power management tools are really nice, and so are the themes, I just wish I could read Chinese - the theme manager is great, but the TapasHot app store or whatever seems to confuse me Also, whenever you update the OP, you might take out "wifi" under major bugs, since it's fixed already.

Ok I followed the instructions for installing the rom and love it but, I lost all contacts on sim card. I'm guessing I might have made a mistake. Can anyone suggest a way of recovering them? By the way they were saved to sim.
You didn't save them to Google?
There's no recovery if they're wiped from you're sim .....try saving them to Google next time, you'll be glad you did.
just flashed a different rom and they are on the sim and show up but for some reason they wouldnt show up in tapasOS even when I tried to import them from sim it would say there wasnt any.Would like to use this rom.
Like I said....back them up on Google...and use this rom if that's what your hang up is...if your not gonna use this rom based solely cuz it wont read your contacts from your sim...then your comment about really wanna use this rom isn't true when there's several ways of backing up your contacts and making it happen.
That is such a BS statement if I ever heard one..."I would like to use this rom". But do nothing on your own to make it happen..
Come on people use some common sense and do something on your own without someone holding your hand.
I have been trying to remedy this on my own all day by reading and trial and error. I guess you can feel like a tough guy behind the internet.
Dyin' over here! I
To rephrase the advice given earlier (since sixstring will likely cut out all of those posts later) in whatever rom will read your contacts, back them up to your Gmail account. That way, you'll always have access to them on any rom.

Verizon can see if you are rooted and any custom rom or modified kernel you are using. They have full access to all the information in the "about phone" screen in settings. If they wanted to deny a warranty claim due to being rooted, all they would have to do is look on their systems and see what you were running.

They can see your radio version every time you connect to their towers, They can see your software/kernel/baseband if they like through the information your phone sends to them as you use it. Also they still have stuff like Carrier IQ on phones that COULD even read you your text messages if they wanted. Dont think they cant see it because they can. They just dont let you know they can because it could be considered illegal.

Seeing the radio version doesn't tell any carrier that someone is rooted. Being rooted is software related not radio related. Not unless custom radios are around, which is not available for the tbolt and im sure not for any other phone for that matter.
The only info phones send to the network is account information so the tower knows whether or not to provide service. That's it.
If they knew more details about a device then they would have no reason to ask us about our phone. They wouldn't waste their time as the info would pop up on their computer screens. If they saw anything other than the latest official OTA, then they would tell you that they can't do anything and that you voided your warranty so even switching back to stock won't make them change their mind.
The fact they would "waste" time to find out every detail from you pretty much sums up that this info is NOT available to them. CSRs like to help the customer as quickly as possible to get them off the line and help the next. And at this moment, asking customers about their phones is the quickest way.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
So you think that those little forum signatures that can tell you what OS you are running, what browser and even your IP know more about your phone than your carrier?
Must be nice to be that gullible.
Think what you will, I know for a fact they can see the information. They literally don't care. The warranty is through another company and has nothing to do with Verizon. It is also perfectly legal to root your phone and do what you want with it as of July 26 2010 http://www.androidguys.com/2010/07/26/rooting-android-phone-longer-crime/
The only thing it does is void any extended warranty you bought. So do restore to stock for returns to asurion and the likes.
They ask you because the lower tier CS people do not have access to your phone information, if you are escalated enough you will eventually find someone who can and will rattle off all your information to you.
If you can provide proof then I will take back what I said and apologize. I've played dumb before in the past just to see if it was possible for tier 2 and 3 (technical departments) to know this information. I simply stated that I didn't know how to access the about phone section. They tried to "help" me access this section and i pretended I was getting frustrated. I asked them to see if there was a way for them to see it on their systems and they told me no. They couldn't "help" me with my pretend issue unless I gave them this info. So all I was given was generic troubleshooting tips. They then stated to take it to the store for the CSR to look at my phone for the software version. I did this on a couple of occasions just to get a different Rep each time.
Yes, your mobile browser sends browser info to a website, and OS info. User agent strings are sent so that a website will know how to display the website on the browser. You can easily set the user agent to the stock HTC user agent. But this is irrelevant to Verizon as I can install different browsers on my phone which have unique user agents for each one. Just because my phone sends a dolphin user agent or maxathon user agent and not the stock HTC user agent, this does not imply I am rooted.
OS version is very easy to hack. You can edit this by going to the build.prop and change the OS version to the stock version and I'm sure there is a hack to fake the kernal (you might have to recompile the kernal to change the name)
All the IP address provides is the owner of the IP address (i.e. verizon) and in some cases, the general location of where the IP is being used. Verizon's LTE/EHRPD network use private IP addresses so it would be difficult to pin point a phone or information based on IP. This network uses Dynamic IPs so your IP will not be the same all the time. You have to pay extra to get a static address (business account). It is illegal to use an IP to gain access to any additional information unless a court order demands this.
The point of this is that you can pretty much make your rooted phone appear stock if it was really necessary to do so. Its a variant of Linux and Linux is very easy to work with if you know what you are doing.

If you can root your phone, then its a start. Your typical average user doesn't know what root means or even care what possibilities exist. I am pretty much the only person at my job who is rooted and I've had people ask me how I got my phone to look a certain way and they want their phone like this. When I explain the root process, they say screw that. Most people I know who are rooted know exactly what they can do with a rooted device. And new comers to rooting eventually pick up speed. Linux may be intimidating at first, but once you play around, you see how easy it is.

These forums are just getting ridiculous the way people act. If you would have gave a little more detail about the problem then this wouldn't have happened. And you didn't have to come off like that to my response. The whole point of the forums are for people to help out and learn from each other otherwise if everyone was so smart there wouldn't be a need for them. Next time I suggest you just realize how your responding to someone before you just go off posting.

These forums are just getting ridiculous the way people act. If you would have gave a little more detail about the problem then this wouldn't have happened. Pardon? Did you even read my post? It was pretty specific. I said what I did, where I downloaded, and what issue was coming up. My question was even directed at someone. Before you go pointing fingers, you should make sure you know what you're talking about, tough guy.
I had told u earlier that I changed my build. Prop to the Sprint version and working fine for me. I I actually reverted back to the verizon build prop more than once and back to the Sprint one and never any any issues.

I've borked my secure element...restored a backup of when GWallet and NFC worked and off I went. Flashed multiple roms after with no issue. Have you tried that already?

The last time I got this issue I didn't flash the correct order of zips from the wallet thread. Upon doing so everything was fixed. I know how to install wallet, I just didn't know if changing your build prop to Sprint made it any easier since they were talking about updating from the market no problem. That was my only question.

[Unlocked] T-Mobile 4G APN

I started this new thread to share the working APN settings and to start over new because I can confirm that this APN is working for me.
Sorry if this isn't pleasing to the admins, the old thread was getting too long to sift through, plus it has a bunch of information I couldn't use, because none of it worked for me.
My phone is now sending and receiving pic messages like a champ plus it has a very fast and reliable connection all across the board.
I'm on the ICS uclf 6 modem and here are the screen shots of my working APN settings I discovered last night.
If you do not delete the useless APN numbers your modem might be fighting for a connection between the three APN settings which we all know are horrible as is. Plus, I added the port 8080, but I used the T-Mobile US APN settings as a canvas to get started editing the APN.
PS. Be sure to click menu and save APN, otherwise it won't stick after you edit the APN.
Thanks for reading and I apologize if you view this as the wrong posting area or a double post. I am only trying to help. :]
[Edit] PS. A TMobile store rep said the reason you don't fill out most of the info it asks for is because the info is wrong and the modem struggles with the info verification. If it doesn't have to verify false info, then it will just send as intended.
[Another edit] PSS. I went to TMobile yesterday to ask why the APN resets itself sometimes when I power cycle my device, and he ended up asking me for my APN settings and said I saved him from having to process a return. Haha jeeze! And he was recommended to me by another sales rep in his store lolol
Thanks for reading!

I noticed that if your phone seems to hit a dead spot and doesn't get a good connection all the sudden, you can try going to the APN settings and selecting the APN once more to make it force a connection again. Just click that little blue circle included in the screen **** to force the connection again.
Or power cycle the phone as a last resort.

I've got to ask - How did you get your SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 to be UNLOCKED? I've been reading all night and haven't found a method that even had a chance of working, other than the usb stuff that I don't have the money for right now... (yeah, I'm broke, thats why I need to go to t-mobile from at&t...)

You haven't looked hard enough then. There is a method in the general section.
