AOSP ics STOCK rom? - HTC Sensation

any possibility we will get a aosp stock rom for the sensation? i have used the one with sense 3.6 but who are they kidding? its garbage...

Ok, first of all don't call any rom that is made by our great developers "garbage"...The reason for that is because you can't make a rom....So you shouldn't talk about them like that.
Now to the second part, go install virtuous 3.0.0 and be happy.
Next time think twice before insulting the developers that work hard for you and they also work for free.
Have a good day.

He's from Texas what do you expect

Or he could just have been saying Sense 3.6 is garbage...
Anyway in time we should have good AOSP ICS options based off of CM9, at least in the form of CM9 itself and MIUI. I wouldn't call them stock though, since stock generally means untouched as supplied by HTC, and HTC means Sense.

Which one is right for you?

So i am familiar with flashing phones somewhat. Used to jailbreak iphones but lost interest since the iphail screen broke and was just a POS in general. Been using a blackjack2 ever since which never failed me till recent.
Big upgrade to the inspire so even ATT Rom would be "WOW" to me. Question is how do i know what rom to flash. Which one is right for me. So many out there.
I am looking to flash the phone and then unlock it but what rom has the least amount of glitches that is running pretty smooth and allows all functions to be used.
Was lurking around for a bit and saw this.

roms are chosen by preference really the only way to find a rom that best suits you is to try them all till you find 1 that you like
now the link that you posted is the rom that i first went with & never looked back try it out & see how you like it
yea from what i have been reading this is confusing and its down to personal preff. Quiet honestly i dont want to keep switching things even though its not that hard.
I was searching and also found that leedroid is praised upon but i think leedroid is just better than stock with the bloatware out plus a few added bonuses vs the link i provided is loaded compared to leedroid.
Not sure on what to do here. I dont mind the battery life staying where its at. An increase would deff be good but its my first nice phone in a while so i want to enjoy it.

I like sense. So I am biased towards sense based roms. But leedroids has been on my phone the longest. I have tried 4 others and of course a stock that I ripped out all the bloat. I keep returning to leedriod. the dudes rom is amazing
Make a rom back up of each and that way you can just return to what you like the most.

I have never even tried CM7 - Something just doesnt interest me about it. So Ican;t sway you. But really man, just make a back up of what you have now. Don't like the new one recover. If you like the new one, make a back up of it and try another. Its saves time and you can try em all. I'm a Rom Junkie tho so...Lol
CM7 is very nice I had it for a while and its nice. The problem with CM7 nightly is you will flash alot because they have alot of updates Im currently using MIUI and Im absolutely LOVING IT!!!!! I was using LeeDroid before and it was also AMAZING. I just love how MIUI have alot of themes to go with it and the UI.

Yes or just updates making it better. Yes to me LeeDroid was my favorite Sense ROM. Like that guy said you can just try every ROM and see which one fits you best.
yea try more than one rom. add some rcmix kingdom in there. sense 3.0 is slick. but its pretty alpha (stable enough im still using v 0.1 daily)
dont matter just use some sense and backup before making changes. if your txts are that important, dont forget to back them up too.
I've got to second this - I haven't used MIUI yet, but LeeDroid is the best rom I've used yet. I've tried CM7 and Android Revolution.
I have been liking this rom a lot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1066978

What Rom should I use? What's the hands down general best?

I am currently using Cyanogen Mod 7 and realizing that I don't like it @ all. The camera is pretty much ****. And it cuts out sound a lot. And I'm kinda feining to go back to sense. So i wanna know if there are any good and worthy Sense 3.5 2.3.5 roms or a 100% AOSP rom, Fast, battery efficient, themed would be nice, over clocked, and all the other goodies.

Me, too. But I'm finding 4.1.3 a bit laggy. Wondering if Insertcoin would be better, and I'm trying to find out what the differences are, but info seems scarce. The advice seems to be: "test it and see for yourself".
like eddyOS said, its subjective.
you need to try out the different roms to find what you like.
i tried practically all the roms, almost all gave me this same problem (mobile internet not working and bad signals) until i found a few and went on trying and testing it and got the one that suits me.
What works for me may not work for you.... and besides, though we have same phone, our experience with the ROMs here is unique with each other...
if you ask me, my bet would be Baad (IC), Mike (ARHD), and Ctdroid's work (no offense to other devs) .... Reason? i dont have problems migrating back and forth with those ROM's + great support from the respective teams... If you want SENSEless, check Melvin and Xboarder56's work...

The HTC amaze cam is wicked !
i can feel that it is smoother than my previous bulletproof ( althou it comes with a good tweak option ).
Sense is ****. Try MIUI camera if you don't like the CM7 one. You should stick with CM7 rom though, it's the best.

And because YOU think stock android is "****ty and boring" as quoted in another post of yours, that means it is? Pot calling the kettle black bro.
No, just cause I call it **** doesn't mean I'm right. I've never said I am. BUT I'm saying you're wrong to call a ROM 'the best' as there's no such thing. The 'best' ROM is whatever the user thinks it is.
I use MY own ROM the I'VE cooked as, for me, it's the best as it doesn't EXACTLY what I want it to.
All I'm trying to get across is the OP is going to have to try different ROMs and make up their own mind. I'd say that it's worth trying CM7 but I cannot live without the Sense widgets and the general smoothness of Sense. CM7 just isn't as nice in MY eyes, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder
---------- Post added at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:55 PM ----------
Also meant to add, once CM7 is out of alpha/beta I'll probably give it a go again and see if it's better than last time I used it. I'm quite looking forward to a proper, official MIUI release as I quite like that
CM7 should be good once it actually comes out of Alpha...I hope. Loved it on my N1. Still having problems though...but it is alpha.

Ive been flashing since the first roms were around on the G1. I like to check out every rom offered for my phone and as of now im back on sense (just like the widgets). But like anyone will tell you there is no "best" updates from all our great devs come out daily.
After testing a lot (if not all) roms on sensation, I found Synergy's latest r85 to be top dawg at the moment. Heres my setup, no problems at all so far its fast, stable, and battery life is great
Flashed in this order:
Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193089
Kernel (flashed recommended 1.2 and then cam fix right after): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256668
Im on 10.14 radio cause it seems to give me best data/batter life, its also what synergy devs are using.
lemme kno what you think
u have to find it out by your own..
but i really recommend S3N5EaY v1.6.0 - 2.3.5 / 3.5 sense..
i know CM7 - revolution hd and some others.. have to flash my phone 2128238 times a week lol ..
S3N5EaY is fully stable, fast and sensational of battery.
let me know what u thinkin about it
Well if cm7 alpha isn't floating your boat that's understandable. It isn't fully released yet anyway right? But if you want a fully operational sense rom that feels like a cm/aosp then you should try the beastrom-sv4. Everything works and it's light and snappy. Not as snappy as cm7Alpha 8 but then again it's sense base 2.3.5 now I believe. Just don't install the themes for it as they are not updated to the new base (still set for the 2.3.4).
Although I'm a fairly devoted Cyanogenmod user, I have to admit the Sense 3.5 based roms are quite snappy. Still not quite as snappy as Cyanogenmod but certainly an improvement over Sense 3.0.
I don't think there is a hang of a lot of difference between the roms though. Inspite of claims made by some that xyz ROM is the fastest, has the best battery life, or whatever I've never noticed a difference apart from the odd tweak here and there. These days if one dev comes up with something really cool it ends up in all the other roms within a week anyway. Each ROM does have it's own distinct favour though depending on who cooked it.

Wicked fast, extremely stable and lots of friendly support.
I am on InsertCoin at the moment, it is a great ROM. More or less stock, but with reasonable featers as Amaze camera.
LeeeDroid is also great, but it is a bit out of date, I hope Lee upgrades soon when he is back.

Hmm, silence?

Is it just me or there's no major quality coming out lately from the top few ROM devs? Could it be cos they have nothing new to play with?
XE, Sense 3.5 Leaked, some anemic MIUI attempt and a spartan CM7 as always....and that's about it...for more than a month now, which in flashing terms is already prehistoric ages.

Kidding aside, there isn't much left to do, other than work on stability and integrating further changes into ROMs until ICS source or official 3.5 Sense comes out. LeeDroid just released his 3.5 ROM for the Sensation.
hehe, in other words it's about time to settle the [email protected]#$ down because the ROM i'm using (InsertCoin 3.4.0) is definitely stable and fast. Dunno what baad can add to it in its current iteration cos it's pretty darn good right now.
(loud thinking): i'm not even thinking about getting a GalaxyS2..
I am also a flashaholic but i have also almost been cured by stock rooted sense 3.5. I think it's almost there, can't wait for the final release just to polish the few minor bugs.
n.b. Just started to fall off the wagon a bit. I find myself flashing battery mods, beats audio, roboto font, notes widget etc just to feed my habit
Kernel developers are constantly improving their work, so you can try out different kernels if thats your thing. I haven't given faux kernel a try yet, buy bricked is so good that I don't see a reason to try something else. Maybe when I'm bored of stuff being too fast and stable lol.

I've been using InsertCoin for a while. 3.4.0 hasn't been updated for soe time now, probably because it's working so well.
There's no point in updating ROMs just for the sake of it.

Dont hold your breath for official ICS.
Not gonna happen
I'd wager money against this, we'll never see official ICS, because of Sense.
Supposedly Sense can be used on top of ICS, but yeah, I doubt we'll see it on our poor 'bolt (officially, that is)

I think it's fair to say everyone wishes that they'd release ICS for the thunderbolt, making AOSP easier and producing a fair number of ICS Sense roms I'm sure, just that honestly from what I've seen from most of the manufacturers that have fairly developed skins, with the exception of the Nexus S, because it doesn't need to run a skin that will slow it down.
Single core = NO ICS
Still have my fingers crossed, but unwilling believe it when I see it.

Not at all, I was just saying that having Sense doesn't preclude using ICS. That said, I'm in the camp that doubts we'll ever see an official ICS release. It took us how long to get GB, and then they had to put out more updates to fix it later. I love my TB but by the time HTC starts putting out ICS phones it will be about a year old with at least 2-3 major devices succeeding it.

[Q] Do you ever get so frustrated at your phone you want to chuck it at a wall?

I feel like there is too many options as to what roms to flash and kernels and then are pros and cons to what rom you actually use. And I am also sick of "stock" sense 3.6 so i cant go back to that. Don't get me wrong, I love the work of these devs. Sense 4 ics is probably almost the perfect rom for me. Idk maybe i'm better off with an iPhone (Don't hate me for saying this lol) or i just need a new phone. (maybe the htc one)
