I came to Android from Blackberry. Whether it was the old trackball or the optical trackpad, it was possible to adjust the sensitivity, thus adjusting your scrolling speed. Set the sensitivity lower, you have smoother, slower, line-by-line scrolling. Higher, and you have faster scrolling that jumps page by page. I know most people probably dont use the trackpad on the sk4g because it is touchscreen, but i would be interested to know if there is a way to adjust the sensitivity of the trackpad? anyone who knows please reply.
Nope not that i know of. you could ask the mt3g og forums they have a track ball
no disrespect, but "not that i know of" is not a definitive answer. secondly, why would i ask the mt3g forum? its a completely different device, in case you werent aware.
Well they have a trackball like blackberries had and also this issue hasn't been asked before on sk4g xda forums

Yeah I don't think you can adjust sensitivity. Never seen it before.

Not as of yet, personally im looking into it since no one else really has, and as you can tell the development on this device is kinda of lacking. But maybe there is a app from the MT4G or some other phone with an optical track pad that will work. Im looking into this.

Question, who would like to make a wallpaper that is an animated back ground like what used to float behind max headroom in the 80s?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2fkIidxp74&feature=related For an idea what I'm talking about.

Seriously why isn't this a thing yet?
Would be even better if it had a head and did speech output and recognition, but with the stutter. Hell, make the head a separate widget that you can tap on so you slide the screen over to it and there he is.

Yes please!
Max headroom was a legend.
Cheers.
Seriously this should be a thing.
Either hire Matt to do the voice work, or take soundbites from the show/his other projects. It doesn't have to be perfect (since that's how it was in the show partly, might even make it better.

What's the size of this thing? Can you actually type on it?
that's so small. I don't see the practicality of this thing. thanks for sharing though
Looks great. Have you tried it with emulators? Any lag?

Question are you on stock or custom firmware ? I bought the same keyboard a few weeks ago and it wouldn't run on my g2x but I was running stock.
Runs with all my Emulators and im on CM7 but the buttons are soft style so you can type very fast its a great must have tool and there is zero lag on anything you can even shut the screen on and off with one button

got mine for like 15$ from amazon a couple months ago, it works on stock and custom roms on my Vibrant, haven't tried my g2x though
If 15 dollars I would get that keyboard, but while searching youtube for some unboxings and reviews I found this gem.

Any thoughts on this keyboard?

Looks great. Make sure you get the bluetooth version though. That one is 2.5ghz RF.

so does this mean that we can use like an apple bluetooth keyboard with our devices? I have been trying a long time to figure this out.
Punctuation!

I can't even find those keyboards. I've seen some mini bluetooth keyboards but not that exact one.

The mini keyboard just arrived.
I can pair it but it says its not connected.
Anyone else encounter this?
I do not have much experience with Bluetooth devices.
My question would be why?? Seems like a novelty at best.
Might as well lug around a netbook/laptop if you're going to be lugging around a keyboard. That would get old in a hurry away from your office/home... and of course, 95% of people are using a PC when not mobile. Kinda defeats the purpose of a candy bar device.....to do away with an external keyboard
Well, for one, check out the link a few post up. Its a mini keyboard, about the same size of the phone its self.
Also, I am not totally sure on why it matters, I just want to get it working.
Personally, I wanted it for emulators, I tend to prefer Not a physical keyboard when playing games. I very much enjoy the extra space in the keys as well as the tack tile feedback it provides.
Is it just me or is really hard getting the carousel to work. Everytime I try messing around my phone to get the carousel effect I end up selecting something. For the life of me I just cant get the dam carousel effect. Anyone else having this issue?
I don't own it yet, but on all 4 of the sensation's i've had my hands on i thought it was pretty simple. In only two swipes you should be able to get that thing spinning. Oddly enough, I don't really know it adds any real functionality but it does look cool. Are you experiencing any other oddities with your touchscreen or is that it? Just to make sure that it works try swiping across two blank screens and see if you can do it. Two quick little swipes is all it takes.

Having a 2 blank screens may help as I have widgets on all my screens although I shouldnt have any issues to begin with. I have notice in a few evo 3d reviews on youtube that its a lot more fluent and talking about touch response ive notice that sometimes I have to press the power button to be able to select some widgets or icon shortcuts I have on my home screens. Im not liking this at all.

I saw those EVO 3D comparison videos too and was a little shocked. The reason I was shocked is because the sensations that I tried out didn't have any of that lag in the videos. I've also read about some people here saying they have homescreen lag, and others that don't. Have you tried a factory reset? I should have mentioned the devices I tried had all 7 screen loaded with junk, and I was still able to spin the carousel with two swipes.

Lol, yeah I think the one in that video looks pretty nasty. Not a fair comparison at all if you ask me. Maybe it needed to be restarted or something.
works like a charm on my sensation! just one gentle swipe and there it goes...
Mines lag or very hard to make it spin... Hmmm

Just started using mine today and I'm having the same issue...must be a trick to this Sence
Mine is really smooth. It stutters once in awhile, but it's no big deal.
Just exchanged mine at Walmart for the same reason... It didn't recognize fast swipes... Try pulling the notification bar up and down real fast and see if it lets it go.... The new phone I got works fine for now.

anyone notice that having a screen protector makes the carousel much harder to spin?

Some reported it affected problem, some said it didn't. Pull it off and see for yourself I guess.

I was wondering if anybody has found or is willing to make a home replacement app that looks like the old danger sidekicks. That would be really badass.

The Hiptop ring chooser seems impractical for so many apps. At the end there, the Danger OS was looking awfully dated.. I can't see the ring chooser coming back.
Check out Wave Launcher. Not to my taste, but you might like it.

i think this might be more practical if the trackpad on this new SK were more usuable....
I agree. the Wheel was very functional on a non-Touch device, but with Touch, it becomes pointless. I had Sidekicks from the early days as well (CSK, SK2, SK LX-07). I *do* miss the splash screens though. but there are SO many apps you can put on the phone it would be hard to keep track just by scrolling up and down.
I miss the d-pad and trackball.
They were great for selecting links in the browser, moving around in text documents, and for selecting text.
Getting that kind of precision with this touch screen or the new trackpad is very difficult. Pinch to zoom before I select a link isn't a good alternative.
Sometimes, there really is no substitute for good old fashioned hardware control. The keyboard on this device proves that point. Now, I want my hardware trackball and d-pad back.
The touch screen is great for scrolling around and general navigation. But, it's very clumsy when it's time for precise selection.

I really hate how awful the sensitivity is on that ROM. is it possible to change the level? i really liked the sensitivity on the Stock MySense.
the sensitivity has always been crappy no matter what the rom. If you can find a way to change it let me know cuz i find it painful too, im using CM7 though
Don't think its possible. But if you find anything, do share.
