Sick of my ZAGG InvisibleShield! Any other viable screen protection replacement? - HTC Sensation

Too many fingerprints. Too much oil. Inhibits the use of Trace keyboard. Have to be wiping it down multiple times per day. Sticky, rubbery feeling. I'm done with Zagg InvisibleShield. I will never buy one again.
Sigh....now that my rant is over, does XDA have any suggestions for a better screen protector?
I'm looking for a very thin, unnoticed-type of screen protector. I don't want one that significantly alters the look and feel of my HTC Sensation 4G screen.
I don't need a screen protector that is heavy duty or anything like that, I'm more worried about feel and screen distortion as opposed to screen protection (I never put sharp objects to the screen of my phone )
Anti-fingerprint preferred. Well-known company preferred.
Any help or information will be greatly appreciated, and I'll be giving out thanks to all that help. Thanks XDA!

The solution to your problem is Skinomi.
It's very perfect. No yellow-ish tint. No sticky surface. No fingerprints.
It has the same installation method as Zagg.
Give it a try.

+1 for Skinomi. Have had it on my last three devices. Screen still feels like glass and it doesn't smudge nearly as bad. Much easier to apply than the Zagg as well. Protector is a much more stiff so its easy to place properly. When done well, hard to tell its even there!
If you buy on Amazon there are a bit cheaper. Think I paid $8 for mine. Or if you use the skinomi site, use skinomi25 for 25% off at checkout.

Skinomi?
I have never heard of them before. Is it kind of like a "barely-there" type of screen protector?
EDIT:
Their TechSkin looks like the same kind of stuff that Zagg InvisibleShield is made up of, but I'm sure I'm wrong.
I'll have to check it out.

I would say that it provides the same amount of protection as the zagg just doesn't have the tacky feel to it. Also much easier to install. To me the zagg always seemed 'floppy' and hard to place well. The skinomi is a bit more stiff. Try them out, I'm sure you'll like it!

+1 for skinomi. Looks and feels great and finger print resistant it seems. And If I scratch it it seems to repair itself.
Made in USA too

lol, that's true. seems like a "scratch auto-repair" screen protector. WTF

You guys managed to scratch yours?
The only thing I've ever noticed are small dimple like impressions on it from things pressing up against it. Usually works itself out in a day or two.

I'll have to check out skinomi. I've been using bestskinsever as they're quite cheap, but the replies here have me second-guessing that choice.

Update: I bought BSE and Skinomi.
Currently I have the BSE on until it pisses me off. Definitely better than ZAGG, but I'm tempted to put on that Skinomi TechSkin that has been sitting in its package.
Do you recommend Skinomi TechSkin or DryTech?

I have ishieldz, its great no problem for 3 months now? Has warrenty if it scratches

Best screen protector

who uses a screen protector and what is the best one?
Ive had this one on my phone since early December and no complaints or problems. Highly recommend it. http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-LCD-Screen-P...Accessories&hash=item27bcad8c90#ht_500wt_1139
I usually go to RadioShack. They have cut to fit ones, but don't use the "Wright Right" ones, as they suck, MAJORLY. They scratch way too easily, and have removable film on only one side. I prefer the kind that has removables on both sides. Basically, I peel off the back, then apply, and there is another film sheet on the top that I can keep on while I use a credit card to pour on the pressure to apply, then remove that upper layer film and have a pristine, beautifully applied screen protector. Oh yeah...
You don't really have to have one.. this screen is unscratchable. I never have used one and there is not a single mark. I personally like to take a pair of scissors to it as hard as I can to show off to friends. But do as you please. Lol

Unscratchable my a$$. I had to take my screen protector off for 3 days and it definitely got scratched.
If you keep it in a pocket, sand (quartz) can scratch it.
i had one for my moment and the problem i had with that was that when i would drag my fingers across the screen it would slide smoothly, it was jumpy that was a zagg screen protector just wondering if there was something better or if they are all created equally
I have an extremeguard.com shield on mine, not terribly happy with it, I've had zagg shields and bse shields and they where pretty similar. So I would probably recommend one of those over the extreme guard.

Www.bodyguardz.com....its worth it covers the screen and the black bezel around the screen

Zagg invisible shield. Hands down.
Its like $20 and if you get it at a mall kiosk they'll apply it for you. It also has an unlimited lifetime warranty. So if the protector gets scratched, if it peels up/comes off you can take it back and they will give you another protector and only charge couple dollars to apply the new one.
Can't beat it.

Has anyone had any experience with Ghost Armor shields on their phone?

I've heard reallook has fingerprint issues, but so does our stock screen so it wouldn't both me. I wanted something that almost matches the look and feel as if it weren't there. Still waiting on it, but I believe others will agree. +1 for RealLook
I have used Zagg shield, and Ghost Armor. I love the Ghost one because its way smoother than Zagg.

I just got a cheap $1 3 pack from amazon, I figured I could use them while I looked around for some better ones. Turned out they were better than I thought. I can't even tell I have a screen protector, and I have 2 spares although a lot of people said that they sucked because they would leave bubbles, but if you've ever applied screen protectors you know that the bubbles are human errors and not the products fault. And for the price why not try them out. But whatever you do DO NOT get that crap wright protect from sprint, those just suck. In case anyone was wondering yes they were cut out, even came with a little card and cloth.
I work in a sprint store, and I ended up ordering the $1.49 anti-glare protectors on ebay.
For one; they are way cheaper than even my employee discount on the Write Right brand 3 pack, and two; they cover the entire front bezel.
They are awesome, go on smooth, and I like that the matte finish makes it smoother to use the screen than the naked gorilla glass. (I'm not worried about scratches as much as the feel of using the screen - big reason I hate the Invisible Shield protectors.)
I still actually like the ones we sell in the store, and I've put on a lot of protectors for customers, and these almost always go on really well with no bubbles, and no need for a squeegee (meaning no need for the top plastic cover.) Some people really like the privacy anti-glare protector that comes in it, but not really a good idea if you want to use it for GPS (unless you have the phone pointed directly at you.)
The write right brand aren't a bad purchase, but to be honest, you could go with the ones in the link above, and get a better product for cheap from a great US seller.
zagg's are probably some of the worst and most overpriced screen protectors. try ghost armor
You can try stealth shieldz there nice cheaper then zagg. Tho zagg is on ebay right now 5 dollars a pop for the kit. also xtream guard is a sweet protector too. All those are worth checkin out.
Sometimes the cheap ass ones work pretty good.

Totally agree, wouldn't own another phone or ipod without the invisable shield.
Best buy has too for 20 but 8>00 to put on for you but they are quick at it and good, definetly worth the extra few dollars to lt them do it.

Does anyone still love their screen protector?

Zagg HD was good for a few days and then started bubbling at the top and was easily nicked up.
Skinomi will always have microbubbles.(bad batch) Have tried 4 at 2 plus days each.
Please note what is actually working and where you purchased it.
please help before I go insane.
Leave the Skinomi alone for at least 3 days. I bet the speckles will disappear.
Had a dozen devices, never used a screen protector and never will.
Over the years had zero scratches
Had a Skinomi purchased from their website since I received the phone on May 4th. Have had no problems at all. Love it.
still rocking the skinomi on mine as well. no bubbles or anything here. it cleared up within 8hrs of putting it on.
Believe it or not but the best luck with screen protectors I've had, as far as durability and application, is with the AT&T branded ones (I think they're actually iFrog or something). The only problem is that they are "anti-glare" so I ended up going "bare" for a while but my nerves got the best of me and now I'm using a Zagg "Dry" Invisibleshield. The Zagg is starting to "peel" at the edges and it actually scratches pretty easily so I might just go back to the AT&T ones.
I agree the AT&T ones fit well but sucks cause its anti glare, at least it's not much fingerprints, and at least I know in my head there's a beautiful screen under all that graininess
I had the att anti glare and it would not sit right bc of the screen curve. Now have zagg and its nice but far too grippy. Suggestions ?

I have had the Zagg HD on for as long as I've had the phone and it's still great. It's been over a week, maybe close to 2.
everyone in this thread should try liquid armor. It is a spray on screen protector, no bubbles, no dust, no lowered image quality. I have it on my one x and has been great so far. Best part is its only 20 bucks and you can use the spray over 50 times.

X2. I've been using it after scraping many different screen protectors (Skinomi, ATT, SGP Oleo, generic).
No scratches so far, and I've dropped it twice. Fantastic stuff!

Screen protector that works well for HOX, especially on the edges

The ones I have tried are the "dry" application type and because of the way the screen is curved it seems to peel up on the edges constantly, and having a case on just worsens the situation. Do the wet application protectors work better? Like Invisible shield? What have you guys foound that works well and stay putt especially on the sides?
My Zagg is working great. I have the front and back covered with it. No peeling at all and really nice.

I have the AT&T Branded Dry Application one.
It doesn't cover the sides so it doesn't peel up. However the small side bezel is not protected. It covers everything else though.
I got 6 of them for $12 at the AT&T store since the guy applying it screwed up
Also this should be in the Accessories section...

No, mine isn't the Zagg one. Its an AT&T branded one, that AT&T manufactures.
Skinomi all the way. Same material as Zagg actually. Just cheaper in terms of price + life time warranty.
thanks guys, that gives me a couple good choices to choose from!
And ye sI realized this should be in accessories after I posted it lol, oops
Use XO Skin.... really good... Covers the full screen... as good as nothing is there.. I got the full body protector... workes really well...
I tried Skinomi before two times ... but it was never good... had the orange peel effect...
Really? Cause they are not known to cause that. I know Zagg is. All my device have Skinomi.

I just put the XOSkin on mine and I really really like it. Very easy to put on, is totally invisible and covers the whole screen. Since it covers the entire screen, you literally cannot tell there is a protector on it. Absolutely no bubbles, bumps or streaks. Easily the best I've ever used.
Would any of you who have either the XOSkin or the Skinomi be able to tell me if the full body skin covers the glossy sides of the body? I've seen some that only come up to the lip of the matte and not all the way around, so I am trying to figure if either of these do. Thanks!
Sorry, mine is screen only.
Xoskin full body doesn't protect glossy sides

Didn't like the AT&T one because it was anti glare or something . Not completely clear. The new dry zagg is ok. If you use any case that overlaps the glass it will lift the zagg up. My favorite was the one that came with my nillken. Left a little area on the edge of the glass unprotected so all of my cases worked fine.
Have always used "bestskinsever" on all my devices. So much cheaper than the others and quality is great.
Used Skninomi and wasn't too impressed. I used this eBay seller before getting a screen protector for my GS II Skyrocket. They are selling a three-pack for less than $2 and the quality is awesome

Try phantomskinz, I have it on mine and its matte. Give a very nice touch. It covers everything except all the ports and camera

I've got the Zagg HD on the front and the Zagg standard on the back. It's a great combination. Even though it doesn't cover the entire glass section of the phone it's still completely invisible, no orange peel, and works great with cases. Honestly I feel that this setup with a case is better than any other method of protection for this phone.

Hey y'all, noob here, just got my One S the other day, and just got my Diztronic case from Amazon today, love it! Those screen protectors that come with it are crap tho, and was looking into the Ghost Armor. I've had unpleasant results with the Zagg shields in the past, and the Ghost Armor seems to be pretty popular.
One other question, is anyone using the full-body GA skin in addition to a regular case, such as the Diztronic or Incipio? Just curious. Thanks!

I've never had the ghost armor full body, but I did had zagg full body and it didn't peel up. Once you let it dry it sticks pretty well, just don't put a case on it for at least 24 hours maybe more to let it dry.
I'd imagine Ghost Armor would be better, their screen protector is soooo much better than Zagg's.
I actually need to get a replacement from Ghost Armor, for some reason the bottom part keeps wanting to come up.
I´am using the antireflex protector from mumbi and i´am very happy with it. Feels good and looks really pretty.
how it looks GhostArmor Clear for the back ? any pic ?
i'm surprised no one mentioned htc's own screen protector for the one s. there are a few sellers on ebay from uk selling them. i picked up a couple awhile ago for about USD$9 shipped.
Got my Ghost Armor (screen only) today, and just applied it. Took 2 tries, but I nailed it on the second attempt, got it perfectly lined up. I've been going back with the little squeegee and squishing out some of the smaller little bubbles over the last hour or so, and as long as you get the squeegee wet, it works pretty well to smooth out the little guys. So far, I like it a lot, doesn't have that rubbery-drag feel of the Zagg I had on my G2, or the orange peel. I'll report back in a day or so to update.
krusell
I got a KRUSELL screen film for my one S a couple of days ago and I'm thrilled with it. It is completely transparent and does not affect in any way the brightness and colors, and it doesn't have that squeaky feel.
I had an invisible shield on my previous Desire for about 8 months, it's good if you are a frequent phone dropper but if not it makes your screen uglier, it's like heaving sweat on it all the time and also affects the touch sensitivity.
All in all, would definetly recommend the Krusell.
Alright, so I made it about 5 days, and I think I'm ditching the screen protector. Yes, the peace of mind of the added protection is nice, but to be honest, I'm not really worried about it enough to keep this. I had my HTC G2 for almost 2 years, which didn't even have Gorilla Glass, and by the time I sold it, it had ONE hardly noticeable scratch in the top-left corner of the screen.
The Ghost Armor goes on relatively simple enough, but in 3 applications, I've found it impossible to keep at minimum 2-3 specks of dust out from under it when I go to smooth it down, which create a bubble you CANNOT get rid of, and I can feel them under my fingertips when scrolling around on the screen. For someone as anal as myself when it comes to things like this, these make my head want to explode. I'm also noticing around the edge of the film (which doesn't extend all the way to the edges of the screen, and I find this to be really lame), it's gathering dust and finger... gunk. Finally, and I might be alone in this, but I think it takes the sharpness of the display away. Not to a hugely noticeable amount, but it's there, and it bugs the hell out of me.
Any nice cases that are comparable to outerbox but with a lens protector?

Depends what you like in a screen protector. It seems to me that there are 3 main types of screen protector: matte/anti-glare (smooth to the touch, less smudhes/finger prints) , clear/hard (ment to feel the closest to the original screen), and rubbery (usually wet application, sometimes has an "orange peel" effect). I personally prefer the rubbery texture under my fingers, and I always use Xtreme Guard. Theyre wet application, provide great protection and are far less expensive than Zagg (2 dollars on amazon vs 20 dollars). As far as dry application clear ones I actually really like the ones that come with Otter Box cases. And as far as anti glare I would definitely go with Spigen. Hope that helps

Installed one of these on my dad's Galaxy Note 2 and was incredibly impressed with the amount of shatter protection this provides to your screen. It was very easy to apply, and is actually glass. Watch some of the videos available on the site. Only available for a very finite list of devices (S4 included), I ordered one last week on back order and am expecting it to arrive on Friday.
