I'm running the latest RG2x MIUI ROM. One morning I woke up to a dead G2x. Charged my phone up, turned the power on, and no data from T-Mobile.
Phone Calls/Texting and WiFi works perfectly fine.
It's just my 3G/4G not working.
What should I do from here? I haven't tried flashing a new ROM on it yet.
did you turn data off? if u did b sure to turn it back on.... if not then i would try resetting your apns. not really sure on how to do this, because iv never ran miui before. i figure ud hav to go into your apn list then hit menu and hit reset apns

I installed Froyo 2.2 a week ago on my Captivate. Also rooted my phone and fixed it to accept non-market apps. Now my 3G stopped working. I tried to reset my phone by turn my phone on holding vol button down and holding power button. The reset did not work. The phone would come on as normal. Can't restore phone or use the internet. Can anyone help me restore my phone and 3G?
Which ROM did you flash? Sounds like you flashed one of those EU ROMs that lacks 850MHz support. If this is the case, you will have to re-flash to a ROM that has the proper AT&T 3G support.
I used I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low. Don't know enough to know if it is att supported. Can you tell or suggest a better one.
Have you checked under settings, wireless and network, mobile networks, apn; that you have at&t network settings? Also check if there is an option to disable data on the rom you installed and that it is not disabled

That's the leaked AT&T ROM. IIRC, first time you fire up the ROM, you will be prompt to chose a data connection mode. You may accidentally chose wi-fi only mode. You will need to got to Settings to turn on cellular data connection or press and hold power button and select to turn on cell data connection.
You are right it is the leak version. I use the 3G data connection the first 4 or 5 days I had the ROM. Yesterday it stop working all of a sudden. I tried to change the setting but it will not let me. How do I reinstall Froyo or change back to the stock 2.1? Is there a more stable ROM? Been reading but need a little help.
Download Odin3 one-click, connect the phone on Download mode and hit Start. Wait a few minutes and you are back on stock
PD: My favorite roms are Assonance and Axura, they are the ones that i find more stable. Cognition and Perception are also popular. And there is a whole bunch of other custom roms as well that i have not tried yet...
Thank You. You have been very helpful. I use odin and hit master clear. Fixed my problem. went back to froyo2.2 new. I think I will try something new. Again Thanks
My 3g stopped working all of a sudden. All the apn settings havent changed, not deleted, nothing. I have my phone rooted but its been rooted for a week with no problems. I toggled apn on, the 3g was working, when I toggled it off an hour ago, it has never been able to turn back on. Any idea what I can do?
I've had some issues with the CM7 Toggles that came with NSCollab.
Last night, I tried switching from 2G to 3G. That worked, partly. I couldn't switch back to 3G after that, and I couldn't get any data to send. I tried switching it back on and off from the Toggles, but nothing. After rebooting, not only did 3G not come back on, but I kept getting an Error Message every 2 seconds having something to do with the android.phone not working. So then, I had to flash a backup and got the 3G working again.
Then, earlier today, I tried switching the Mobile Data and Data Sync off, but they also wouldn't come back on, even after rebooting, so I once again had to restore to a backup. I'm pretty new at this, so it could just be me being flat out stupid.
Are the toggles supposed to be this faulty, or is there a different way to turn them back on?
What exactly are Mobile Data and Data Sync?
Is it better to just leave 'em be, and turn just put it in Airplane Mode if needed?
That is a known issue with CM7, my advice would be to wipe data, reflash, then avoid the 2G/3G toggle. That's the only one with that issue so feel free to use the others.

For no apparent reason, my phone won't connect to wifi. Says ERROR on wireless connections. It's a rooted device. Tried different roms. Same error.
Anyone?
have you tried a different router or wifi location?
If you have your phone rooted try flashing a diffrent kernel to see if that fixes the problem
he said he tried different roms....
I am also seeing something similar. Running stock froyo ROM with Overstock kernel. What I've noticed is that this doesn't seem to happen when the phone is first booted. After running for a while, the wifi toggle just stops working; resulting in the "Error" status as mentioned by OP.
The only ways around it is to:
a) Reboot, or
b) Use the 'airplane' mode toggle to switch to airplane mode and back, and the wifi toggle works again.
If there was a simple solution around it, that would be great.
I got excited when I saw your airplane mode idea... But it didn't work! Will try a different colonel
Have a look at this thred
I had much the same problem and followed the advice in this thread.

Mine does this whenever I arrive home. If I come to work the WiFi connects right up. But when I get home, the WiFi doesn't connect and shows "error" in the settings.
Going to/from airplane mode worked on my first Captivate (1007 running Paragon RC6 ROM), but it doesn't work on my new Captivate (1101, rooted, stock Froyo). The only thing that works for me is rebooting the phone.
Wifi Fix
Use FXR Wifi Fix app. Worked for me.
Ya sometimes it's just a hotspot acting funny...
I have an interesting issue. When i restart my phone, i get no signal, but when i turn to airplane mode and than normal mode again, i get signal. Every restart, it repeats. What's the matter with my phone?
(Nexus S with NexusBeam)
Maybe add a power widget on your screen and see if its connected to the mobile network after boot up..

Phone recognizes my service provider but as i said no signal. I am really unfamiliar to android i get phone 3 months ago somehow i managed to root Actually its very long story. On stock room there was no stock a problem like that. I flashed to NexusBeam first but i didnt like ICS so i decided to turn Gingerbread 2.3.6. I managed to turn stock rom BUT there was no signal like that. I did not come up with idea like turning phone to airplane mode that time. I flashed to NexusBeam again and it worked well. But after several restarts, i got same problem.
To sum up i doubt that i made something wrong Might it be efs or something like that?
When you flashed the different roms, did you wipe dalvik cache more then once?? If I were you, I'd back up everything with titanium backup then do a master reset... wipe the data and the dalvik like 3 times over!
