Hi, i want to buy a new Android and i want to know what you recomand to me: Galaxy Nexus or GS2?
I heard Galaxy Nexus dosent have Gorilla Glass. Is that replaced glass better or equal with Gorilla?
Thank you!
It is not as good as gorilla glass, but there are alot of nexus users not using a screen protector with no issues. I would get the Nexus.
I'm guessing this is internationally? If so, both are great, for pure power, the SGSII.

Galaxy Nexus, the have the best development and its by far the best phone. You will always have the latest software ob your phone and the screen is waaaaaaaaay better.

Can't go wrong with either one.
Take the one you find prettier...
Buy both and decide which one you like better, then give the one you like less to me.
I would get the galaxy nexus personally.
Thx for answers. The main problem is the glass :/ I'm using my phones without screen protector.

Please recommend a good phone for my friend.
She is thinking of getting the Galaxy S but she is not sure.
I have the X10 and she likes its design, camera and the screen size.
She likes to text.
Needs a good camera for picture and video.
Prefer actual keyboard to touch screen ones.
Likes the phone to be sleek but will compromise for a good keyboard.
Thank you
Samsung epic doesn't sound like a bad idea

any galaxy s wouldn't be a bad choice, could also look into the g2/desire z
stay away from Samsung...
well, if you are rooting and flashing savvy i don't see anything wrong with samsung.
hTC Desire
Samsung Galaxy yes
I think the best should be samsung galaxy
I would go with a G2 actually
Samsung Epic is a good phone for anyone who wants a keyboard.

It seems she want the galaxy s pro. Is that the samething as the epic 4 G?
can the Epic 4 G be unlocked? does it work with sim card?
thanks everyone for the reply. I will take a look at all the other phones metioned too.
[Thread Resolved]
In the end, I went with the Nexus as it has much better software, development and update speed...
Sorry about making another thread on this.
But, I'm looking for a 24 month contract under £15 a month with little upfront fee, up to £100. I was on Pay as You Go before. I just wanted to know what is the best at that price? At the moment, I'm looking at the HTC One X, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note. Which one would you recommend? Or should I get something else? The phone needs to last for 2 years. Thanks for the help.

Any suggestions? At the moment I'm between the Nexus and Note. Which has better development?
Go with Galaxy Nexus. Fast as hell with new Jelly Bean and also it's a really developer/hacker friendly phone

I don't think note will get jelly bean or next version of android. Also I find Nexus to have more developer support. Also Gnex has pure Android which looks beautiful

The real question is getting the latest update important to you. If it is go with a nexus, if not go with the phone that suites your needs now. Just don't expect your phone to be updated to the latest software when going with a skinned phone.

If development and long term support is your biggest option.
100% no doubt, go with the Nexus.
The Note is a close second because it has decent development but updates are a bit slower.
I'd leave the Sensation in the dust.

I would have to say "not the Sensation XL". I had a Sensation and it's a heavy pocket mirror. And there aren't too many roms available for them. In the end I'll have to recommend buying a phone because you like the design, not because of the specs. You're not going to enjoy a phone that has a slightly faster CPU if you don't like how it looks.
I've pretty much eliminated the Sensation.
But which CPU and GPU is better? The one in the Note or the Nexus? I would prefer better development but it's not a big issue. I wouldn't be installing ROMs until the phone gets old. Hardware-wise which is the better phone? And will both last the next two years? I know the Nexus will, but will the Note? Thanks for all the help.

Specs are better in note for sure. But even though note has better spec, I find Nexus to be smoother with the jelly bean update.

I also second the suggestion to get a Nexus. It gives you the best Android Experience (fast updates from Google, huge developer community) .
The HTC HD2 is still very expensive because it is very popular among developers I guess this might be the case with the Nexus too. So if you want to sell it in the future it won't be completely worthless by that time. Just my thoughts.
If you want an Android phone go directly with Galaxy Nexus, but if you have much money you can buy an iPhone 4s
I think galaxy nexus or galaxy S3
I was going for the Nexus but then I saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510755. What do you guys think about this?

I am not a big fan of Samsung device to begin with. Also, trading one s to a previous generation phone to me isn't wise to do even if $40 is offered.
However at the end it's your decision and if you really want a Samsung phone, get the s3 it's much better than s2 in every way and similar to one s. If s3 is too expensive, stick to one s after all this is one of the best phone you can get from the market.
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
It's not a good deal. Read above.
Ok then i think i'm going to just keep my htc one s
I would ask for more $ , sure the S2 is an older phone, but the Super AMOLED Plus display is really gorgeous, WAY better than the One S in my opinion

OK, we all have different taste and opinions about phones. To me, I don't find the one s's screen any worse than s2's. Yes, s2 has better technology but I personally am happy about what one s has presented to me. Only improvement I think is if we have 720p on one s that will be the best.
Oh, don't forget s2 only has WVGA and one s is QHD, the pixel density difference is well noticeable.
Again, if you really like s2, they go for it, but to me you cannot decide and that's why you are asking people's opinion. So in this case I would suggest you stick to one s. It is likely you would regret if you have done the trade. And the person trading the s2 will be extremely happy.

I would not make that trade with 200 tossed in with S2.

It's been happening to allot of folks getting theirs on Craig's list. Owner sells it, then reports it stolen or lost, T-Mobile blocks it, they get a new one through the insurance.

Honestly it's not so much beautiful.
Black s4 is much more appealing
Screen size and clarity also not as much nice as galaxy s4

After a month it started squeaking... not so compact and solid...
And that thinnes thing is def not an advantage.
Also see the various complaints of it just breaking it's display while in jeans pockets.
I would change it for a black 32 GB htc one.
Aesthetics aside, S4 feels better in my hand than HTC One, also much better than IPhone 5.
This thread sounds so naughty.

Fanboy samy.....
I dont see anything wrong with being a samsung fanboy in a "samsung" section.
Back to topic: Yes, I initially thought the one looks way better, but now that I was able to compare it side by side with my black s4... I really am very happy that I got the s4, and not the one.

As someone already said, "different strokes for different folks."
I understand people preferring the smooth edges of the S4. Me? I personally like the "sharp" edges of the One. Makes me feel as though I have a better grip.
People's hands vary massively. What's right for one is wrong for another.
I have to be honest though, I like many, really wish Samsung had tried a little harder to differentiate it from the S3. I felt I had to go for the One as HTC really do deserve a lot of credit (and my money) for putting so much effort into their device.
Still, I understand Samsung want people who know very little about phones to recognise the S4 immediately. Making it look like the S3 is the best way to achieve that goal.
I am surprised so many XDA folks went for the S4 mind. I suppose it's all about specs for a lot of people. That's why I plumped for the S2 a few years back.

I have bought phones. HTC one designed is much, much better, but with quality assembly issue.. I changed 2 one, and no 0 gap... Whatever, one is very different designs and more premium feeling
I really like the look and feel of the S4, nothing wrong with it and all this talk of plastic being cheap is nonsense imo the phone feels properly made and i have no issues with it and i prefer it to my htc one and I dont have to worry about the body being scratched, yes I have seen htc one videos but i still dont trust it. also i have no issues with weak screen on the s4.
I love my S4 but to put in other terms there is someone that mentioned the phone is easy to break well yes it is but if you take care of it correctly this would not be such a issue I have a Otterbox Defender series for all 3 of my S4s I have dropped my S4 3 times since I've had it, I dropped it onto concrete and have had no issues this by far is the lesson learned by many people dropping any phone is to buy a case. I am unsure about why the S4 is breaking in someones pocket I hold mine there all the time and had no issues but once again have a otterbox defender case on it maybe thats the saver unsure... I have never seen the HTC but then again already used my upgrade so guess have no need to
Bwahahahahaha, this thread is so funny !!!! I wanted to buy the S4 even if it was just an S3 with a real premium finish,I would have bought it.Plastic is definitly not premium, even it's more beautiful than the S3 build materials.10 millions S4 were sold over the world, but the question is:how many if it was aluminium? This number is just because of their marketing force.Look what HTC have done, they're not in the top 3,nor in the top 5 smartphone sellers rank anymore, but they wanted to make an outstanding comeback, and create this amazing phone, they listen to customers expectations, they sold 5 millions !!!! I'm not a pro HTC,nor Samsung, nor Apple,I love innovation, revolution and when you're ranked 1st or 2nd,you have to keep working hard to keep your crown.

OK all, I'm ready to upgrade but, I'm stuck on what to have. I have been using the amazingly versatile Galaxy SII for just over two years. I love the flexibility of Android and the quality of Samsung so that is where I plan on staying. My options are excessive, which one of the following devices shop you recommend. I have decided it will be one of these because of the screen size.
Galaxy S4
Galaxy Mega
Galaxy Note 2
Galaxy 8
Alternatively, I am intrigued by the S4 zoom, I take a lot of pics. But, I am not convinced the lack of screen size is made up for with a better zoom.
And go........

I'd definitely go with the S4. My coworker has the note 2 and i have the s4 and i like mine a lot more than hers. with the note 2 they only advantage is the screen size, the s4 has the air gestures, remote capability, quad core, etc. i love it, the best phone ive ever had, i got it almost 2 weeks ago and im still learning from it.
Samsung Galaxy S4 ! You will not regret...!
