I love my Inspire 4G and I run the RCMix3D Runny 4.0 ROM. It is fast, I like the fonts and the icons and love Sense 3.5. I also ran a UV script and another script I am forgetting. I have a few issues and the ones I have found are minor, however, just recently though I discovered I can not make outgoing calls with Google Voice. I am in the US on AT&T and its not even an option in the Voice setup to make all calls with Voice. I flashed another ROM to see if this was a ROM issue or some other phone setting issue. The other ROM I flashed (Android Revolution) I had the same issue. No option to make calls (other than international) via Google Voice. Short of flashing back to stock any one have an idea? I was thinking maybe there is a setting to do with location or carrier that is not right. I am using the RCMix kernel. It reports in the 'About Phone' to be a 'HTC Inspire 4G.' I have uninstalled Voice several times and reinstalled without any luck. A previous ROM flash showed the phone as Desire HD so I wonder if I am stuck with a phone that is reporting to be a non-US phone and no-us market Apps?
Use groovy IP if you are trying to make data calls. If you just want people to see your GV number and use your plan minutes in settings you should see

That is what I am getting at. If I posted a screen shot I only have three choices and the first one is not make all calls with Google voice. I have a sip account where I can dial out with my home VoIP but I want voice to work so I can port my number.

There should be no reason why you have only 3 of the 4 choices. Make sure you update google voice to the latest version. But your posts are confusing. In first post you say you can't make any voice calls. Your last post says you can at least set it on "ask". So which is it?

You could be more clear on how you have this sip account setup. If it is set to make all calls, that could be the reason you are missing that option with Voice. If your intent is to port your cell number to Voice for use with the sip account, that won't work. Voice requires you to have a cell plan.

I thought I said it only gives a choice toake international calls. I have three options, Use for international, do not use and ask me everytime I make INTERNATIONAL call. I have the newest version . Like I said its like I am getting a non-US apk from the market since free voice calling is US ONLY. I am in Kentucky. I think a version of ClearDroid reported my phone as a Desire HD. Maybe my market account is hosed.

Does not matter because before I setup the sip Voice would not work. I have VoIP at home and they provide sip settings for softphone use.

Does not make a difference on my phone but on your phone it might since you have a sip account set up. Homescreen > menu button > settings > call > Use internet calling and try changing your setting to something else.
If you think it might help here is the google voice from my phone.
Thanks. I think it is something deeper because I flashed a different Rom yesterday and same issue. Flashed Rom, booted, download voice run setup and same issue. Nothing else was configured. Tring yours!
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
No luck. I removed the sip account too. Uninstalled voice and rebooted then tried yours. Was hoping there was a system file I could dig into to check device type and or location. Maybe I am off base thinking its something like that. I could flash back stock I guess.

In your settings for google voice, do you have the area code listed in "This phone's number"? Try "add this phone" again and see if that helps. On the same note I have heard that google voice cannot send voip calls from certain area codes. Have you been able in the past to use google voice with the area code on the phone?
Yes the area code comes up. I believe at one point when I first got the phone the missing option to make calls was there. I've done all sorts of setting changes on the phone and via a browser on the voice side and nothing works.

I'm doubtful that it is rom related. Cleardroid is and has always been based off of the stock Inspire roms. Also, I am using a non US based rom that has been modded for the Inspire and Voice has all the options and works as it should for me.

I agree as changing ROM had no effect. I am on RcMix3D Runny. I think I will flash stock and see what happens from there.

Huh, I just checked it out in the market.. Check out the last dozen or so comments.. "Doesn't work on the g2x". Obviously it's working for you..
Working here.
I use Yap (search for it in the market). It's free and simple and works well. Very good speech to text recognition too.
youmail. love it, and it freaks my friends out when my voice mail knows their name...
Working fine here as well! The T-Mobile app that is.
I don't see why it shouldn't work?
For me it works out of the box, no activiation needed.
Just verified again that it works. Called my phone left a message and it instantly downloaded into the t-mobile visual voicemail app. I had to activate it a looong time ago with my G1. Only had issues with it on Nexus One.

+1 for Google voice. Not only does it work great for voice messages but also to send them to you via email. It has pretty good voice recognision and I also like that I can use it to call out over my Google Voice phone number, which I use for a personal business.
It's especially nice for calling someone who you know is avoiding your calls (lame friends) so they don't recognize the number.
Every time I receive a call, the sprint operator says the name of the contact calling or unknown caller and says press 1 to answer or 2 for voicemail. Has anyone else had this problem????I talked to sprint about this and they said they had to update my caller id and voicemail and that it would take 72 hrs to update. It has now been 1 week and same ole ****! I have updated prl and profile and still the same. When I press 1, I can answer the call like normal but I have to go through this process every call I get. Please help.
Welcome to awesomeness that is Google voice intergration. Check you Google voice settings, you probably have call screening turned on.

Did anyone try the Wifi-Calling app on Infuse ?. Its a popular app on T-mobile, i saw it on the vibrant & works great. I extracted it from the vibrant and installed it on Infuse. It didn't work. It force closes. May be our Infuse kernal wudn't support it.Btw- i am on Infused 2.3.3.
Any help/thoughts ?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Obviously, there's a simple reason.
It's a T-Mobile app ONLY. You need T-Mobile service for it to work, because it connects to their servers with your subscriber info.
tl;dr, It won't work without T-Mobile service.
Wifi calling
so if i unlock it i can use it?
You would need a TMo voice account to use this. Better option is to use SIP with many of the free clients on Android to make wifi calls. GB even has internet calling built in.

I got it to work on the Darky-ROMs. No point in making a new thread so here it is

If you need me to get it working on any other ROM, do let me know.
I know there is a mod in the other section of the Infuse form to get this to work. It is to much for me to understand but maby it will help you.

While my one x is charging, wanted to see if I can find workarounds till root is available for a few things:
Battery percent on status bar (something nice looking but lightweight)
No search button, including assigning long press to an app.
Notification toggles
Using nova, and even in a lot of other apps, missing the menu button. Any suggestions or is anyone else having this issue?
Sure would like to restore some of my app data.. Especially for the few games I have.
Any good and battery friendly lock screen replacement? Last I heard widget locker still wasn't ics compatible.
Any way to block ads on an unrooted phone lol?
Anyone get Google voice working?
Sure was spoiled having root during my entire prior android experience. I've went ahead and got this assuming we'll have root in the not so distant future. Just trying to get by till then. I have a hard time seeing myself with anything else but a htc phone but I'll switch to the s3 if nothing changes by the time its released.. Grr.. sure don't want to.
Ty so much for any help I can get.

I think I had to deactivate it then reactivate it

Yes, I've used Apex before. Nova (for me at least on the Inspire) just seemed to be smoother (and I had already paid for the prime version). I might give apex another shot on this phone.
There is a Google Voice thread on this forum. It worked for me. You have to log in on the computer and use a number. After that it works like a charm regardless of what the VM settings on the phone say.

Abdel, I appear to be in the same situation as you. I am able to receive calls/texts using my Google Voice number, but I wasn't able to make calls using the number because Lycamobile isn't on the drop-down list on Google's "activate Google Voice on this phone" page. BUT then I just changed the setting in GV to "Making calls: Use Google Voice to make all calls" and it works perfectly, showing my GV number on phones I call and ringing my phone when people call my GV number. It even seems voicemails are handled by GV and not Lyca.
