Free Memory to > 1Gb!
How to Increase your Internal Memory Size with very low effort!
NOTICE: This method works both on Rooted and NOT Rooted Phones!
You simply need to meet three easy requirements:
Stock Firmware installed on the Phone (custom ROMS not supported ...They don't need to!)
A microSD with two primary formatted partitions inside (the former 'to FAT32' and the latter 'to EXT4' filesystems)
Ready to Flash to your Galaxy Mini via Odin
NOTICE: The following Black Box Howto is explained deep inside in post n. 2 and from post n. 52 to post 54!
...
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Last Year, on December 18, I started the quoted thread for Galaxy Mini, showing a tweak useful to Increase the Internal Memory Size on Stock ROMs simply switching the data filesystem to the second partition of the microSD...
Benefits and disadvantages of this tweak are fully explained and discussed in the quoted Thread.
Question: Why I'm posting here, then?
Answer:
I received requests about tweaking the FIT boot images too...
I studied the FIT kernel vs Mini one and figured out that they are pretty equals (actually they full-match each other but only few stuffs related to post boot hardware detection)
I tried and made few images for FIT, which are shared in post n. 56 of the quoted thread, but - owning a Galaxy Mini - I was not able to test them...
...till now...
...
Angry about that and waiting for beta testers for them, I compared deep inside Galaxy Mini and Galaxy FIT...
Surprise: If I call them TWINS, the mistake is not so a mistake:
...At Kernel Layer they match each other...
...the bootloaders call the kernel at same memory address...
...boot sequences via ramdisk completely equal...
...system libraries are exactly the same...
...system software and leftovers too...
The only hardware differences don't really need to modify the boot sequence!
THAT'S ALL: I simply tested the FIT images on my Mini and they ends up and running...
THEY WORK!
What's Now?
I'll not repeat the Flashing procedure with Odin - you can read it on the quoted thread - but here are the FIT boot images actually modded and shared:
PDA=S5670DDKT3
PDA=S5670DXKPB
PDA=S5670DXKT4
PDA=S5670JPKQ7
PDA=S5670LUBKP6
PDA=S5670LUBKPI
PDA=S5670XWKTI
PDA=S5670XXKPQ
Your firmware is not listed? ...let me know!
Obviously you need Odin and Ops file ready for your phone model and not the Mini one...

How does it Work:
Scenario 1:
I switch on the Phone, without a MicroSD slotted in or with a microSD with a single FAT32 partition (broken or damaged microSD also suite this scenario...); GingerBread boots as usual!
No Difference!
Scenario 2:
I switch on The Phone with a microSD slotted in (with the second partition formatted as EXT4 filesystem but still EMPTY); Ginger boots acting as if
/data
is completely moved outside to microSD but just WIPED (not true obviously, and the original /data is safe inside the phone), so it resettle it from beginning...
NOTICE:
...If your second partition is 1Gb wide...
...your new Internal Memory will be 1Gb wide...
Scenario 3:
I switch on the Phone with the second partition of the microsd (EXT4) up and running (already resettled up for use and with my userdata on it); Ginger simply boots with
/data
moved outside to microSD with your userdata there and tons of apps just installed from the market...

NOTICES & ADVICES:
If I want to remove the microSD from the slot, FIRST I NEED TO SWITCH OFF THE PHONE!
When I install apps from the Market, Ginger Misunderstands the actual new Internal Memory SIZE and puts the apk files to External Storage anyway! I simply need to move them "to the phone" via "Settings menu" immediately after!
When I switch on the Phone without the microSD, I boot using the original /data inside the phone, actually loosing all the apps installed onto the external one untill next boot with SDcard; and, of course, loosing my sms stored there and others personal userdata too.
Unfortunately this boot image heavy conflicts with Link2SD (great app anyway!), so you must choose one: This Boot image or Link2SD... not both... sorry!

Thanks for this.
I forgot to mention that I have installed OC 844 MHz Kernel. Because it does not work for me. I have to reinstall and then try.

Don't work for me.

SD Make-up!
When you get true internal memory size even after tweak, something went wrong while making 2nd partition on SD...
You should first check How you made the second partition on your SD Card...
You can resize the first one (FAT32) or start from scratch (two new empty partitions); anyway, They both must be primary and the 2nd must be EXT4 newly formatted (mandatory).
If you feel you've done right, you could check what's happened with an app I just wrote to check the 2nd filesystem for errors. You can find it here; it's a Beta Version but fully working...
Read carefully the post and, eventually, give it a try.
P.S. It seems, otherwise, that you shoud partition your SD out of the phone (USB or MMC adapter needed). Actually Everybody who asked me for the same troubleshooting, solved it using Minitool Partition Wizard on Windows or GParted on Linux, BUT acting on the SD outside of the Phone!
P.S.2 No need to flash again! If the phone booted, the image is up and running fine...

I used USB, opened Mini Tool Partition Wizard, wiped all the SD, Apple, made a primary FAT32 partition, created a primary ext4 partition, Apple, waited till everything is over and that's it.
The problem remains the same.
Again flashed PDA S5670XXKPQ = (2.3.6) and same problem again.

apple style partition?

In either recovery you can do a nandroid backup. Do a full backup in case anything goes wrong you can restore phone to its previous state. If you have apps2sd running you will want to select the option that does ext backup as well. Basically its best that every time you have your system working the way you like it to do a nandroid backup so you always have the most recent restore point for your phone.
Alternately, if you simply want to backup applications or system settings individually download MyBackup or Titanium backup You can opt to save application data so that all of your application settings and such are saved as well.

Enable Swap
**Note** Each location on a flash memory card can only be written to so many times before it stops working correctly. Since swap will cause the swap partition to be written to frequently, there is a potential issue of wearing out part of a flash memory card. If a card wears out while using swap, your system will malfunction and crash.
Wear leveling is a mechanism that distributes write wear uniformly over the entire memory card by dynamically remapping logical memory blocks to different physical memory blocks over time. This largely alleviates the issue of card wear when using applications such as swap that tend to write to the same memory blocks over and over.
Anecdotal reports on the 'net indicate that most Class 6 microSDHC include hardware wear leveling, while Class 4 and lower cards typically don't. A-Data and Transcend Class 6 cards were specifically cited as having hardware wear leveling. Many people have used these cards for swap without issue. In the end it is your decision on whether you want to take the risk of running swap. Many respected developers here recommend you not use it.

I can throw it on there as well, but I think it belongs here as much as it does there. xda-dev forums are here to help all, and have a much larger user base. A large number of g1 users here use cyanogen. And besides a lot of this can be used for other roms as well. It's simply a quick reference guide to help people out.
To be safe, if you already have the newest radio 2.22.23.02, I say DOWNGRADE to 26i. That way when you're flashing the Danger SPL you decrease your chance of getting a brick.
I know thins because I accidentally bricked my friends G1 because he had the newest radio(2.22.23.02) when I flashed Danger over it..
I wouldn't know how to write out the steps so if you kindly would.
And if you already have 26i whoopy dooo for you less work.

I'm talking about the SPL. When I flashed Danger over 2.22.23.02 I bricked my friends phone.
What xaueious means is that flashing a radio or SPL through recovery has been proven dangerous. We don't fully understand why, but we do know that you run close to 0 risk if you flash through fastboot instead. Danger has been shown running on old 1.x radio's before, only if they are flashed through fastboot.

So you had test 4 running good, and flashed test 5 over it correct? No other changes? Upon booting up when you attempt to unlock you get the above error message?
i don't remember. i can eliminate the problem by swipping the ext partition. however after i add back some apps, the problem appears again.

Okay, I'm tired of seeing people not be able to get on the GB ext4 bandwagon where apps don't disappear. This guide is for you if you want a smooth, surefire way to get on GB.
NOTES
* The KC1 and KJ6 files contain bootloaders for the SGH-T959V. By downloading and flashing the files you agree that you will not hold me or anyone in Team Acid responsible if your device gets bricked. There are always risks when flashing custom firmware and ROMs onto your phone.
* As always, make a full backup of your SD card and phone.
FEATURES
* Root
* CWM + drhonk's custom KJ1 kernel preinstalled.
* Gets rid of the disappearing apps problem
* Gets rid of the missing SD card once you're booted into GB
* Gets rid of your bootloops
* Get a working GB ROM with ext4 support (includes Official KJ6 with drhonk's custom KJ1 + cwm kernel)
* All the files you need are included in this post
* Wipes out all the gremlins you had on your phone by putting the KC1 bootloaders, then the KJ6 bootloaders on your phone.
PREREQUISITES
1) Download all the files from the links on this post, and extract both .7z files and Odin v1.85 using 7-zip or a compatible program
2) Leave the phone's back cover off since you're gonna have to do a few battery pulls and you need access to the sd card
3) Format your sd card by hooking it up to your computer with an sd adapter or through mass storage mode using your phone and a USB cable.
FORMATTING ERASES EVERYTHING ON YOUR SD CARD. MAKE SURE YOU BACK IT UP ONTO YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE YOU DO THIS.
Follow this guide to format your sd card on Windows (this is on XP but the same steps can be taken on Vista or 7).
This guide is meant for using your sd card on a Wii, but the process is the same to get it working on the phone.
WATCH THE VIDEO ALL THE WAY TROUGH BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY OF THIS.

Click on the link above if you wanna watch fullscreen, or you can watch here it here:
INSTRUCTIONS
1) After formatting the SD card with the steps above, put your favorite GB ROM, and install_busybox.zip onto the SD card
- 1a) You can restore any backup of your SD card you made at this point. Make sure you have at least 2GB free on the card though!
2) Put your phone into download mode
3) Open Odin on your computer
4) Load up Odin, and load the KC1 files, DON'T TOUCH ANY OTHER OPTIONS, leave them like they are even if Odin changes them!
- 4a) PIT: Sgs4g.pit
- 4b) PDA: pda.tar.md5
5) Flash and let the phone reboot. Once you see the T-Mo startup screen (the pink one), OR the CWM (red text) screen do a battery pull.
6) Put your phone back into download mode
7) Click reset in Odin, now load up the KJ6 files
- 7a) PDA: pda.tar.md5
- 7b) CSC: csc.tar.md5
8) Flash the files and let the phone reboot.
- 8a) The phone will go into standard recovery (blue and yellow letters, you might hear Linda) and then reboot itself once.
- 8b) The 2nd time you will see either the CWM red letter screen or the Galaxy S 4G white letters/pink splash screen and if you prefer you can let the phone boot all the way, do a battery pull.
9) Now unplug the USB cable, put the battery back in, hold vol + and -, then press power. You should boot into CWM (red letters, voodoo).
10) Go into the voodoo menu > enable lagfix and /system lagfix on
11) Flash the GB rom you put on your sd card
12) Flash the busybox_installer.zip
13) Reboot and hear Linda give her speech.
14) Welcome to GB with ext4!

I can say this is pretty much what I followed and had only one other change. Many of us have had to create a 2048 partition on the SD card to make it work, 1024 just wouldn't work for some of us.

Rom:T959VUVKG4 odin
Linda will not speak. Will the above work for my Rom?
It might be overkill for you, but yes it'll work as long as you have a properly formatted sd card.
Just know that this will wipe everything on your phone so look for a CWM gingerbread rom. There's a few good ones right now. I'm using audiophile ftw

Your going to get a few questions for the people who were on the leaked first version of GB with the jacked bootloaders - So I was thinking you might want to add How to get back to a proper Froyo version like KD1 in your post.... .Kc1 for some reason didnt work for me - and I somewhat know what Im doing...lol....Im just saying tho.... happened to me...

I use a process very similar to this when flashing a new GB ROM, excellent write up! Only difference is I use the old 8gb sdcard from my old MT3G with a 2gb partition on it, works every time! I just don't feel comfortable resizing my normal 16gb sdcard in case something goes wrong, or the card gets wiped.

This will actually revert you back to a full KC1 with bootloaders, wiping the GB bootloaders that were bad, then it puts you on the KH2 bootloaders which I haven't had any trouble with and haven't heard anyone complain about. That's why I wrote this guide, this is all working.

As crackpot and others have mentioned, 2048 might actually work best for you. If you formatted to 1024 and it worked, stick with it, the point is to get a method working for you that works every time.

very well, thank you sir
i done everything .... installed kh2 with crt but when i open voodoo there is no lagfix ....
I tried this thing for 5 hours and just gave up. Raver posted a new Redux v. Lol I am not sure where I got lost in the OP but after several tries I couldn't flash a GB. Bricked my phone very ugly. Will give it a try when a final GB is out. Anyway, thanks for the help. I know its just my noobness.

Well you can always send us PM's or try to contact us if you ever get stuck, you don't have to try to solve problems on your own. If you are willing to try it again, and I recommend you do because it'll get rid of a lot of problems, feel free to send me a message.
I've tried your guide twice, I end up with a stock recovery and no ext4. I heard Linda talk both times after ODIN, but no dice
I'm trying to use this ROM: [ROM-Leak][CWM] Gingerbread 2.3.4 T959VUVKH2 Deodexed + CRT On and Off Enabled! by chadster
Acctttuuuaaalllyyy I just tried flashing drhonk's GB kernel with voodoo via ODIN. Got it! Linda is converting now.
I got something I've never seen before.
At step 8 (not a or b), I let the phone reboot and I hear linda say "convert data partition", then I see the android + install package screen blip by, and now I'm at a screen that says "Confirm password" and a low res touch ui for entering a would be confirmed password... wtf?!?
I'll start over and try again, but in case I get back to this point, has anyone ever seen this?
You must've used a password instead of a pattern for your lockscreen. Try typing in anything and press enter.

Credits to EMF, he found this hack & it is working well on my MT6577... :good:
Originally, this hack by 神族-bpok which install .smssecurity to app folder which is meant for V970 so attach copy here, i've deleted it so that it can be use on any MT6577 via cwmr...
Having said that, it is best that you copy your original vold.fstab before installing this hack so that, if anything were to go wrong, you can still revert it back to original state... Just open revert2ori.zip with 7zip but don't extract it, drag & drop your original vold.fstab into it & flash via cwmr... :good:
What this hack did is that it swap the mount points at vold.fstab...
Original

It is also possible to manual edit vold.fstab as confirmed working by other thread...if it doesn't then power off, take out the battery, wait few sec then put it back & reboot...

Hi yuweng
Nice trick, though not new to me. The reason I did not describe this in my thread is because in Settings->Storage, you can simply choose which SD card is used, internal or external. (internal one is called USB). No hacking of fstab needed
But I see soo many people doing this, or other tricks, I start to wonder: Maybe the settings->storage choice is only on Lenovo? Do you not have this on other MT657x phones? Or are people just looking passed the build in selection?
PS: your other tutorial, on retrieving a scatter file and recovery image from a phone, is really good. I will use that if I ever get a phone for which there is no ROM yet.
Wow,
Master Shifu cybermaus dropping by to my thread, really honor to have you here...
Haha, i'm one of those who like to keep all my games all at the phone & this is where this hack comes in... :good: So far that i've tried, even it is set to SD card, the internal memory will keep on decreasing, while with this sdswap hack, preferred install location set to Phone Storage(its swap now), i've installed more than 2GB games & internal storage stay the same size... :laugh: Kudos to the developers of android games, Wow, those recent games graphics are really amazing & some are really addictive too...
Learn that trick from Master Shifu bgcngm blogspot, discovered it can be use on MT6577 too, however its start address is offset for MT6577...
It's work!
I managed to successfully root my EASTCOM W5500 One X with this tutorial. But, 7z.exe needed to be updated to latest version (for my case, Windows 7 64bit). Other run well. Superuser reported working well. Adfree works as expected. So, I deleted all Chinese apps and make it feel stock.
Next step: create a custom rom for my device :fingers-crossed:
update (22/10/2012) : Error flashing zip file, back to kitchen..

haha, been using x86 earlier b'cos of driver compatibility issue but now also lazy to upgrade...
Yeoh bro, for Android Kitchen to work on MT6577, you'll need 'curi ayam' patching...
There are so many MT6577 out there, to update edify_defs for all model is crazy...
After extraction at AK, go to ADVANCED OPTIONS -> Convert update-script or updater-script -> Convert update-script to updater-script (Edify)
Then go to AK -> tools\update_files folder, copy emmc-update-binary to WORKING folder \META-INF\com\google\android, delete existing copy & rename emmc-update-binary to update-binary
Open updater-script with Notepad++ & delete the 2nd & 3rd line & add the following to the 2nd line & save it...
Code:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3", "/system");
Build ROM from working folder & Voila, you'll have Android Kitchen working on MT6577 & i believe it will work on MT6575 too... :fingers-crossed:
If you need to add apps/ games to WORKING folder /data/app then you will need the below...
Code:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p5");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p5", "/data");
package_extract_dir("data", "/data");
set_perm_recursive(0, 0, 0777, 0777, "/data");
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3", "/system");
AK will works with either system.img or system.ext4.tar but *.tar will take a longer time to decode symlink...
As usual, wipe data/ factory reset first before installing ur newly created update.zip...
Actually you don't need to format statement also at updater-script since you already manually done it...
Thanks for the guide but still got no time to continue the custom rom. Will update once I got time

I have a GooPhone Y5 .. and I have actually tried to flash my phone with the Zopo Z100 or Z200 (I don't remember) ..

Yes, just use the MTK6577_Data_Repartition.7z by X-Dron. However, found out lately, most users doesn't have factory ROM & they started modding this & that which is very dangerous... Use MTK Droid Tool by russian Master Shifu rua1 to backup your whole ROM with it... :good: There is an option there to create scatter.txt so you can revert it back when needed... :good:

This app helps you have up to 3GB internal storage (Data Partition) <DOWNLOAD>
*Phone must me rooted.
*Run the app > Choose the size of data partition you want (I choosed 3GB ("Bộ nhớ 3GB, bỏ thẻ SD trong" in app's menu) because after swap sdcard, i feel internal SDcard is useless).
*Then Reboot to Recovery ("Khởi động máy vào Recovery" in menu).
*Once rebooted to Recovery> wipe data/factory reset.
*After reboot, you will have the size of data partition you want.

Does this mean that if I want to try a new ROM it is better to leave the original PRELOADER in its place or am I saying something stupid now....
I tried to find what exactly is the function of each part of the firmware but cannot find an easy to understand description.
I guess some of the parts of a ROM are very machine dependent and others are more general.
It would be nice if somebody could describe relations and dependencies of the different parts.

1. After installing this rom go to storage and see the changes there.
Your external sdcard will become your internal sdcard. If you are using 64 GB, then the entire sdcard can be used as internal and if you are fond of games, it will be faster and there may not be any lack.
The external sdcard will show a storage close to 2GB only. Hence you have to delete the storage to getback your 16 GB internal storage.
Before deleting, be careful, and read belwo:
As internal and external sd card has changed its positions, some times, you may not notice your earlier internal sdcard after phone storage.
you simply save the contents of the internal sdcard ( that one displayed as external sd card - some time only about 2 GB satorage will be shown), either using ES file manager or after usb debugging, you store in your laptop/desktop.
Now Erase this storage, after copying if you need otherwise do not bother.
Do not erase your external sd card ( that is shown as internal sd card in the display)
Now you will get back your 16 GB internal storage.
Now you can use this to store your apps and data or you can store in your actual external sdcard.( which is shown as internal sdcard here).
You can register your SPICE 535 as CANVAS -4 and get the services from Micromax, if you want.
APEX settings is available to ease your operation and change what all you need as per its limit.
In my personal one I have also used Touchwiz.
Use Xposed Installer and gravity box and make your phone equivalant to any other so called top class phone.
I am yet to analyse the advantages over other ROMS. But this one I feel is better than the stock SPICE Mi-535.to my experience and taste.
The quality of photo is good as equal to Micromax 13 GP one.
If you meet with any problems please write here.

HOW TO CHANGE imei IN YOUR MAX OR SPICE

Dear Reader,
I am getting questions about how to change IMEI and IMEI is invalid how to correct it.
Open ES explorer / Root explorer or any other tool and make your phone system to accept read and write. Norrnaly I use Android Root Tool kid. Open the tool kid and go to Remount option and in that make the System ----> read / write and (rootfs) read/ write. Also try to save your root.
I thought of using the reply channel to give the simple tutorial here.
1. Remove your battery and look at the scribes there. You will notice IMEI numbers there.
2. Just write down these numbers in a sheet. or store it in your system desktop.
3. You should have rooted phone.
4. Goto play store and install Mobileuncle MTK tool.
5. Open the mobile uncle tool and scroll to Engineering mode and click it.
6. Go to MTK section and click it.
7. You find Engineering mode pop up at the top and below it you notice the row with different section.
8. In that section you just slide and tap the connectivity section.
9. In the connectivity at the column below you touch CDS information
10.In the pop uo you tocuh the Radio information and you will get pbone 1 and below that phone 2.
11. Now you touch phone 1 and in the popup you touch the AT+
12. Once you touch the Key board will pop up. In the key board you type any single letter and cancel only the letter you have type.
13. Immediately you can notice the scribes that is required for you It looks like AT+EGMR=1,7""
14. you touch the first row and after 7 you can notice the simple "" and in that two inverted commas you delete one at the end.
15 after deleting that, just type the 15 degite number you have written down in the point no 2 here.
16. Verify your typed numbers and close the inverted commas "
17. Then touch the row which says SEND AT COMMAND
18. Once the pop up display indicates AT command successfully send.
It is all over for one of your sim, you have got the valid imei number.
Now repeat the same for phone 2.
This exercise is not required if you have saved your IMEI number using the same Mobile uncle tool. This tool has IMEI backup restore facility.
Just use that facility and back up your imei number not only in your mobile keep a copy some where in your laptop/ desktop.
If you have already saved and backed up there is no need for the above exercise.
thanks.
I have downloaded
I am yet to try due to off.workload

One Issue I have seen - Once you restart the phone, it forgets the accounts that are added except Google.
Every reboot, you have to enter password for FB.

Reboot or restart your phone. Kindly verify and report. If it fails to remember password and other accounts, please inform and I will look into the problem.
Note:
If you need I have a set of mixed S4,Xperia N9500 and Note 3 Roms cooked to suit the Spice Mi-535 and I am using it. Now and then some problems arises if you can be able to manage those minor corrections yourself then I can port this custom ROM that has partly Android 4.3 ROMs, 4.2.3 ROMS with basic Spice rom. It needs SPFT flashable nvram.bin to get stock network and Mac back again.

[Patch] Disable internal sdcard

I was going to release this as a ROM, but as you may know Rox is pretty busy these days so he hasn't replied to me yet to my request for permission to fork CM11 (if you're reading this, don't feel offended and take your time!) so I chose to reward the DIYers by releasing the differences from it... and of course devs that share my view of the ideal ROM will hopefully reuse them ~
So yes, this is basically an expansion pack for CM11. After downloading the sources, just before `brunch codina` you extract the zip over them.
What does this do anyway? What's included?
The main feature is that partitions 8 and 9 (sdcard/UMS and preload/HIDDEN) are ignored. You can completely delete them and get a 3 GB /data partition for ART or whatever. Unlike swapping storages (or not swapping them!), this doesn't confuse apps written with only one media partition available.
Camera photos, your songs, OBBs and ASECs from apps that use them, archived apps, ... all go to the card you can always remove from the phone if you want to sell it or need service (keep in mind though it's not 100% sure that nothing on it never ends up on NAND), likely formatted in FAT32 with loads of multiplatform undelete tools available, easy to swallow if you feel the CIA is nearby... (do not try this at home)
There are also some other minor tweaks that I consider a core part of my Android experience, see the text file in the zip for more details or just read this box ↓
Code:
External SD only (on sdcard0) with [STRIKE]ASEC, apps2sd,[/STRIKE] OBB, camera, card hotswap, mass storage all working
/preload disabled
device/samsung/codina/overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/xml/storage_list.xml
device/samsung/codina/rootdir/*
device/samsung/u8500-common/common.mk
packages/apps/DeviceSettings/src/com/teamcanjica/settings/device/fragments/AdvancedFragmentActivity.java
packages/apps/DeviceSettings/res/xml/advanced_preferences.xml
BUG: Mass storage mode creates an empty drive, I suspect this can be fixed by playing with the LUN setting in u8500 boardconfig
"battery saving" profile limits clock to 800MHz
device/samsung/codina/rootdir/*
200dpi default resolution
device/samsung/codina/system.prop
Default screensaver after 2 minutes
device/samsung/u8500-common/overlay/frameworks/base/packages/SettingsProvider/res/values/defaults.xml
Browser autocomplete window size increased
packages/apps/Browser/res/values/integers.xml
So if you want to have a look you can grab it there!
Good job!
However i have two suggestions:
1. You should separate "storage" part from other tweaks... It's great that we have somebody with creativity but not everyone wants to apply all that tweaks (and even less will want to separate that tweaks from storage part (considering that potentially interested in your patch are very few in count)
2. Do you have github account? is "githubish" version of your tweaks?
I played a bit with storages in that overlay (storage list) some time ago, but no success on that time... so i'm really interested in those changes.
When i try to compile stock OC kernel - i had to repartition my long time used custom partition scheme. And then i tried to recreate it without UMS partition but it ended with "no sd card" issue (you cannot take pictures for example) after memory swap... So i need something like your patch, but i don't have time to separate it from other tweaks...

1- Just remove all the unrelated files, I listed the names for a reason (to leave maximum clock at 1 GHz, in device/samsung/codina/rootdir/init.samsungcodina.rc you can see 2 pairs of lines near the end with "scaling_max_freq" to be removed)
storage_list.xml → the highest level part, basically defines the functionality of settings/storage
fstab.samsungcodina → remove internal SD, change voldmanaged= part of external to match mount name in storage_list.xml, if you didn't rename it just change "sdcard1:auto" to "sdcard0:auto"
init.samsungcodina.rc → remove 3-line block related to internal SD, edit name and paths to fit previous configurations
u8500_common → remove swap option from build.prop
AdvancedFragmentActivity.java → remove swap feature from NovaThor Settings
advanced_preferences.java → remove swap option from NovaThor Settings
2- Nope, I don't know how to use git (or any equivalent) and if I was to add the extreme confusion of configuration files assembled from multiple places and quite illogical arrangement of stuff in the sources to a friendlier but completely different system as seen in the repos...
(and github doesn't seem to offer what I would be most interested in - highlighting differences from a previous version)

github is quite logical and well organized . Beside of this, it would be easier to manage your patch when files that you modified will be modified by @Rox or other TC member: You will have to make your patches again or accept that their changes will be overwritten by your patch...
When you click on last (or any) commit you'll see the difference in code it made, btw.
And I try to implement your changes to github code as a commit (should be easy if the sources weren't changed in the meantime).

OI just compiled new carbon build using your tweaks...
Everything seems to work good (i was really happy), but then...
It seems you cannot install (from google play, from Titanium backup) apps that write additional data on SD(1?):

Just checked a little better, there is a problem with ASEC creation (vold doesn't create disk images claiming something is mounted read only), cheap workaround is to use Link2SD or `pm` to force everything to install to internal storage
@judas1977 I think I found the problem, I should have confirmation in 5-6 hours
Ok, I'll wait for the info...

keeping all other changes I sent you, in fstab try changing the microSD line (sdi0[...]mmc1) so that it ends with noemulatedsd
Code:
#<src> <mnt_point> <type> <mnt_flags and options> <fs_mgr_flags>
/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 /system ext4 ro,noatime,errors=panic wait
/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /modemfs ext4 noatime,nosuid,nodev,journal_async_commit,errors=panic wait,check
/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 /cache ext4 noatime,nosuid,nodev,journal_async_commit,errors=panic wait,check
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 /efs ext4 noatime,nosuid,nodev,journal_async_commit,errors=panic wait,check
/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /data ext4 noatime,nosuid,nodev,discard,noauto_da_alloc,journal_async_commit,errors=panic wait,check,encryptable=/efs/metadata
# Vold managed volumes
/devices/sdi0/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1 auto auto defaults voldmanaged=sdcard0:auto,noemulatedsd
# Recovery only
/dev/block/mmcblk0p15 /boot emmc defaults recoveryonly
# ZRAM
/dev/block/zram0 none swap defaults zramsize=104857600
I haven't managed to try it on last evening's Omni or CM11 as they both got stuck on bootanimation and I can't say if it's this mod or something from 4.4.3 still unpolished...
:good: :good: :good:
That did it. with "noemulatedsd", everything works fine including ASEC (and thus apps2sd)... the job is done :highfive:
So this should do the job?

There is patch only for disabling internal sdcard or i have to apply patch with tweaks?
Thanks

Hi!
As I see, TeamCanjica has changed the structure of the init scripts recently, so the changes you've made in "init.samsungcodina.rc" have to be applied in "u8500-common/rootdir/init.u8500.rc"
