The only way I know is to move them into a different folder. If you REALLY don't want them to show up, you could zip them up and delete the originals. They's about as good as I can suggest I'm afraid. Either that, or stop taking pictures of your girlfriend/gentials lol.
Too much porn on your phone, am I right guys?
Did u try to hide them with total commander or other file manager?

Changing the file attributes doesn't help. The album apps still show them. This is one of the things that bugged me when I made my "Hide Folders" app. It became a little pointless when certain applications didn't care about the "hidden" attribute.
Hi there
I use a Software named "Secubox". With this, i can create a virtual storage card which I can mount and unmount if i need it.
Its also encryptet, so the data stored there is secure and you have no access, if you don't have the password...
Works nice on my HD2, the only solution for this kind of data ;-)
else: put your pictures in a subfolder in Program Files... Album will show them only if you browse there....
Tip with the Program folder does it for me ! thank you!
Hi,photos in touchflo3D come by default from DCIM folder on your storage card . You can create a new folder called from example DCIM2 an put here photos that you don't want to see in the Touchflo3D .

That works for the very front of the GUI, but if you click on albums, you get to see the folders with images in them. I believe the above suggestion of putting your images in a program files sub-folder stops that happening.
Also, if you were to use the pictures & videos app, you can browse the folders all over the phone, so it's still not 100%. I think the suggestion of a secure, encrypted area is the most secure of the lot.
Either that or take my previous advice, and stop taking c**k shots lol.
Hi, I wrote the following script for my TP2 which did the trick. You need to have Mortscript installed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548841
Hide Photos
Not sure if this helps but what I do is :
I have on the SD card, a folder with all my data in called imaginatively Data.
In there I have Videos, Photos, Documents, and Hidden.
And pictures I don't want to be seen in Album, I put in the hidden folder.
Then in Total Commander :
Select the folder
Click File
Then >>>>>
Then Properties
This allows you to adjust the attributes.
Click Hidden, and click Recurse subdirs. (If you don't do the recurse, it will hide the folder but NOT the images within).
Then click OK.
Reverse the process when you want to get them back.
It's like 5 clicks to hide, and 5 to get them back.
No need to rename or anything, I found it works for me.
Hi,
create a new folder for private pictures and add to Album ignored list.
Example
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum\Ignored]
"Maps from TomTom"="\\Storage Card\\Western*"
"TomTom"="\\Storage Card\\Navigator"
"Musik"="\\Storage Card\\Musik"
"MSMetaData"="\\Storage Card\\MSMetaData"
"Camera"="\\My Documents\\Templates"
"MMS"="\\My Documents\\UAContents"
[COLOR="Red"]"Private"="\\Storage Card\\Private Pictures"[/COLOR]
with friendly greet
starbase64
yep
the upper post doesn't work, but no doubt the easiest way to do it is posted up by jaknife with recurse subfolders hide method
Another solution.. in the thread [REF]*Leo Hints & Tips*, at the tip no 64:
"64. Disable Unwanted Folders From Showing in HTC Album
Don't you find it annoying that HTC Album Shows lots of images you don't need to see when you select Albums like GPS poi icons? Now you can tell HTC Album to ignore certain folders.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignored and add a NEW STRING VALUE
Eg if there is iGO8 in the root of the Storage Card you would create a NEW STRING VALUE with Value name iGO8 and Value Data \Storage Card\iGO8
This will include all subfolders inside the iGO8 folder. Save and reset."
works only in HTC Album, not manila interface
Hi,
Thanks to starbase64 and traianboala , I have tried the ignore string key, and works fine in albums program of HTC, but the images still appear on manila Photos & Videos (that is on the manila interface) any solution or another ignore string / list for the manila interface?
Sounds like you got alot of self made home private spicy photo's/videos..

FreeOTFE costs $0.00

Guess which one I use! and FreeOTFE works great on my HD2! just remember to format the volume you create as a FAT32.
Works!!!

hi there i've installed some games onto my HD2 (uno, FM, tonyhawks) and want to locate them in the games folder not in the main windows area. can anyone help me do this?
open file explorer. browse to windows/startmenu/programs.....look for ur games shortcuts......cut..... nd paste in windows/startmenu/programs/games. done
You're not done at all.
OK, it will move the shortcut to the correct folder, but the icon won't follow. It's defined in the registry ([HKLM\Security\Shell\Startinfo\Start] then the folder name, then the shortcut name, string value "Icon").
People making CABs should be a bit less lousy and direct shortcuts to the correct folder, same for the acompanying icon.
Actually, some people put icon definitions into several registry keys, so they will "follow" the shortcut if you move it. It's actually a satisfying alternative, if you consider it gives the user the ability to put the shortcut wherever he wants (including copying it to several locations) without losing the icon.
But yes, having shortcuts piling up into the Start Menu's first level, or even worse, placing them into dummy folders with a fixed name (sometimes in a foreign language), is pig work, and I saw even worse (yes, it's possible !) : shortcuts landing to a foreign language "Programs" or even "Start menu" folder, so actually not even displaying in the Start Menu !
When you create (or modify) a CAB file, you should heavily use aliases in order to let Windows Mobile translate them to the actual names during installation.
For instance, if you wanted to direct a shortcut to the "Games" folder, whatever its actual name in your own language is, you should NOT put it into "\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Games" (neither into "%StartMenu_Programs%\Games", though it's still better like that), but you should actually use "%StartMenu_Programs_Games%", which will put the shortcut in the exact correct location.
You can do the same for the program's location itself. For instance, %ProgramFiles_Games% will direct it to the correct folder, according to your system's language, and will even do so, either you choose to install it on the internal memory, or on the SD card.
You can use these aliases inside registry values, too.
Unfortunately, this process may sometimes do it "too much".
It's the case on cooked ROMs, where the author may retain WWE names for some folders and translate others, sometimes using his own syntax. Since the CAB will always translate using the official way, it may still land in an incorrect location...
The ony way to be sure you'll obtain the wanted result, anyway, is to get some CAB editor program and peek inside before copying them to the pocket PC and installing them... And maybe, fix them before using them.
It will be handy each time you'll need to reinstal it, so don't mind inspecting and fixing the CABs you find : it's always better than crashing your system because something wrong or inadequate to your setup was put inside.
One classic case is TouchFlo / Sense tabs, for instance.
Unfortunately, they're all defined inside a unique XML Manila file, so you actually can't just ADD a tab : in fact, this notion does not even exist ; all you can do is overwrite your whole tabs list with another complete one, and pray that you'll end up with the same list, plus the new one... Would you bet your life on that ? I won't.
In real life, you really can NEVER trust a CAB intended to add a tab to your existing setup, as the author most probably don't have the same tabs as you have. In the best case, you'll just loose some tabs (they'll just disappear, even in the tabs list from the settings, and you won't get them back) : the programs and files are still there, but their definition file will have been replaced by the new one. And in the worst case, it will add a definition for a tab whose programs and files are not previously installed on your phone - and you'll crash it once and for all.
That's the reason why now, I never give a tab CAB containing any tabs definitions. I only provide all but the tabs list, and provide separate CABs for all the possible tabs combinations - and you have to choose and use the good one. Or use Maltwater's SenseUtil program to setup your tabs. The good news is my method will setup all the tabs in perfect order as soon as you've soft resetted the device, since my CABs contain the XML file, plus all the registry keys, plus it resets ManiFull.xml.
So, people, whatever I said about good CABs putting the shortcuts where they should... OK, you may be lucky... But the right behaviour should always be to look inside CABs before trying them. You can trust me !
i'm new coming nice to know all

It's been a while since I had the need to move icons, so there may be newer versions of this program, but the JWMDIconChanger will move the icons for you.
I Wanted to know if there was any way to change the way the sense photo viewer scanned for files. For example could I get it to only show photos in a specific folder on my SD card. Reason being I have created a separate folder called contacts and I do not want it to display the photos in there.
Thanks
Same question, looking for reply.
yes you can, as far as I know .. go to the folder that you want to show through the Albums then choice the folder Menu>>Set Album as Favorite.
Hope this help

Have a look at tip no. 64 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638.
As tboy2000 states at the start of his thread, you'll need to have a registry editor installed in order to do this...
Thanks for the info
64. Disable Unwanted Folders From Showing in HTC Album

This will work. I think it would be much more helpful if nothing was shown in the photo except the folders you actually wanted. Having to exclude folders seems like a long process.
But thanks for the fast reply, Ive got something to do at work now
Is there a way to refresh the internet shortcut tabs so that they will show current web pages??? Also one of my pages didn't load all the way so my Internet Shortcut tab has a half loaded page on it...This is ridiculous!!!
Nevermind
I figured it out! Go to \Windows\Thumbnails and delete them all. Then reload your webpage once you have a 3G Connection... Plus it would help if I upgraded to Opera 10

Hi, it sounds like you have found a solution to your problem; however, I thought I would let you know that you can create your own images for the internedt tab thumbnails. Rather than have a mini-screenshot type thing that is currently there simply make an icon (in PhotoShop, Fireworks, Corel or whatever your preferred image editing app is).
To implement this, do as follows:
*Copy the PNG files from the Windows/Thumbnails directory to your PC.
*Open each in your image editing software.
*The current size is not really necessary and can make for a larger file size. Reduce the canvas down to 128x128 (this seems to produce a reasonable image without too much resolution loss).
*Create your icon/preferred thumbnail image.
*Save as PNG8 (with alpha transperancy if you want a transparent background). PNG8 will keep your filesize down.
*Remember when you save to keep the same filename. It should be a long string of numbers and letters.
*Copy your new files back to your device Windows/Thumbnails directory.
*Voila! New thumbnails, no mini screenshots.
The reason you want to keep your file sizes down is so that there is no lag time when you get to the internet tab. If you have large files, it takes a minute for the tab to load the thumbnails.
Perhaps you can answer this for me

Something happened when I deleted my cache files and my thumbnails. I tried placing several internet tabs back but they will not load. Netflix, CNN, ESPN..etc..etc... the only ones that show up in the internet tabs favorites are new pages/favorites that I have not added or been to before.
Having exactly the same problem. Looking for a fix.
Thanks.
Do either of you have the original PNG file names?
I am unsure whether Windows or Manila creates a random number for the file name when a new thumbnail is produced. I suspect this may be the case.
If the file names tend to be the same then I can send you some of mine to test.
I have attached an images of my thumbnails and file names. Perhaps this will help. I'm happy to share the files if it will be of assistance; however, I suspect that the file names may not be the same as yours.
Do you have any files in the folder:
device/thumbnails
If you do, and you are happy to send them to me (with the name of the site they link too), then I am more than happy to create some thumbnails for your and roll them all into an easy to install cab
Thanks,
Yes, I have files in the Windows\Thumbnails folder, but only the new once that I create.
When I recreate a quick link that was used in the past (CNN….) No Thumbnails is created in the Windows\Thumbnails folder.
I think this might be what you are looking for:
Update thumbnail images of shortcuts on the Sense 2.5 internet tab
If you want those images to change to the actual picture of the site when you open them, instead of the old picture of what the site looked like when you first opened it, change this registry key: HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/VisualBookmark/UpdateOnce to 0 instead of 1.
Pasted from <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=641804>
Thanks,
Changed to "0" in the registry, SR, set PIE as default browser - No Go
I checked again, the moment I delete a Thumbnails related to a site, I can't assign again any image to that site (to replace the "globe" image).
Need help!!!

Hi
Here you go, I have made the attached thumbnails for you (using your original filenames).
I have included an image showing the new thumbnails and associated filenames.
All you need to do is copy and paste the files into 'device/windows/thumbnail' folder using Resco, Total Commander or similar. Overwrite the files that are currently in the folder.
That's it! It's done!
Go have a look at our internet tab and you will find the new thumbnails are displayed.
Note: I have a copy of your original files as a backup.

Ok, I never had this problem until now and I've done this countless times. My custom Youtube shortcut reverts back to the default thumbnail when I click on it. The others shortcuts are fine. Something like this can drive me nuts kinda...Any ideas guys? Thanks.
Edit: The problem has affected all the shortcuts.

I had the same problem - after deleting the thumbnails I couldn't get them back. New shortcuts to new URL's worked, but everything else just gave the globe.
The solution that worked for me was to delete vb.vol in \windows (I stumbled across this after reading the "Manual Backup Stuff - Manila/Sense Internet Tab Shortcuts" section of http //whirlpool.net.au/wiki/htc_hd2_backup )
Don't have a solution for auto-updating the thumbnails, though

I'm not sure that this question can be answered on XDA as it is not an android or phone related question. Perhaps bleepingcomputer.com etc?
