[Q] Need help with my g2x asap..!!! BRICKED!!! - T-Mobile LG G2x

So i rooted my g2x and factory reset the stock rom, i backed it up into my sd card with cwm, and then i flashed a different rom. So after doing that i ended up running into someone who wanted to buy my phone so i restored my back up and it was successful.....until it rebooted...the lg icon pops at the beginning the screen then the screen goes black and it flashes on and off and on and off.....n i cant do anything..and when i try holding the volume down and lock screen button, all it does is show the little android dude and the download bar but it goes back to the same flashing screen.....someone please help i really am trying to get the phone working and this problem isn't helping...so any suggestions...?

Check the rom for recovery in development section, it will low level nvflash stock ota 2.3.3 gb rom on your g2x. Make sure you install apx drivers and you hold the buttons the whole time its flashing.

idk where to go for this..

did you make sure you flashed recovery through nvidia flasher? also if you're using weapon R1 you were supposed to flash that OVER the regular weapon g2x

Read the whole post and follow it step by step, you'll be good after that.

So install the other ROM first and then install R1 without whiping data or erasing cache....?

His post doesn't quite make sense, he must be thinking you're trying to run New Clip, not Weapon 3.0_R1. Of course, if you are trying to run New Clip then, yes, flash Weapon 3.0_R1 THEN flash New Clip.

[Q] quick infused gb question

I just want to make sure about this. I just read the installation directions and it says to delete recovery before flashing or ill end up in a boot loop, is this still true? I've installed it when it first game out but I don't believe I deleted it before and I ended up fine, Im curently running infused 1.6
Which case I do need to delete recovery and I want to go back to froyo based roms later on would I need to reinstall the recovery?

Signature verification failed

On 2.2 froyo stock rooted . I get E:Signature failed Installation aborted
every time i try to get cwm
How did you go about getting cwm?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I used the update.zip to root of sd and recovery file move to system/bin overwrite method
after i get into the android recovery and try to re install all packages i get the error
Did you make sure the root explorer app was set to r/w and not r/o? Also you can Odin a kernel and get cwm that way. Its easier imo as well.

now phone says
in the speaker
"convert system partition system is not available"
i think its bricked any solutions
try booting into recovery. Hold power and volumes then release power but continue to hold volumes. Give it a minute. When(if) it boots into recovery, then navigate to the "Voodoo" tab and disable everything.(Click on anything enabled). You will boot up normally then.
Its not bricked. A lot of people went through that. Give me a moment to remember or find the solution. Its been awhile since this issue. One question though. Why not try gingerbread?

also i had the valhalla rom on it but now cant find it in the install zip from sd ever since i factory reset it in Cwm
Seems your looking to flash a gingerbread rom. If you flash Valhalla while still on froyo your going to have bootloader issues. Fbis251 has a great gingerbread starter kit that you should have a look at. Its in the dev section.

Rainbow recovery and flashing rom

Hey everybody, so I might be posting in the wrong section but since its a question I figured I'd post in the Q&A. So my question is since I still have froyo BL and on CM9 can I still flash another rom even though my recovery has the rainbow effect? In recovery the top 1/3 is rainbow but the rest I can read good. I want to flash revolution rom. And I would Odin or heimdall back to stock and go from there but I have no PC. So yeah would it be safe to wipe all and flash revolution even though I'm on a froyo BL, blue CWM and on CM9?

Yeah, you have had to wait a really long time for an answer. I figured folks were just waiting for you to check out the other threads with the exact same question.
Just messing with you, and you'd really be fine to flash the rom that you want to flash. Your best bet would be to get set up right, though. To get rid of the rainbows, it's not too hard to get Gingerbread bootloaders. Follow the instructions in this post to a "t", including the part in the FAQ about how to get red CWM, and you'll have everything you need for a rainbow free rom flashing experience. It will get you set up on stock Gingerbread with custom recovery. Then you can flash any of the other available roms.:

(Successful)Scarred to flash any ics rom

Ive tried many of times to flash a ics rom on my infuse but it always ends in a horrific way i usually get stuck in a bootloop, a broken Cwm recovery screen or my phone just doesnt want to turn on half the time i am currently running infused v2.2.3 build w zen core a16 kernel and voodoolag fix how would i flash a ics rom from this rom without any problems, and any suggestions on the best ics rom on xda?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA
1. Make sure you do all of your wipes.
2. Flash once to get blue recovery
3. It will likely hang so get back into recovery and do all your wipes again.
4. Flash the rom again and reboot. Should be good after that.
What steps were you taking?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk 2
You need to flash Gingerbread bootloaders. That's why your recovery is broken. After doing that you'll be good

Okay. Do the wipes as per instructions sake.
First, you're going to have to flash whatever ICS ROM you want. It will be stuck at the Cyanogenmod screen. Wait a minute.Take out the battery and put it back in. Now, when you reboot, you are going to have a messed up BLUE recovery. THIS IS COMPLETELY NORMAL as you have Froyo Bootloaders. What we need you to do is attempt to find the ICS ROM again that you wish to flash. Flash it the second time. Reboot. Voila!

Depends on personal preference. Using nun's aokp and was using RemICS UX edition as well. Both ran very fluent. AOKP has a few more customization options from what I've observed over the cm9 base builds.
Every single ICS ROM has its own distinction. I have personally tried JB's Ultimate ICS and AOKP.
I highly recommend these two. AOKP provides more customization options off the bat, but JB provides its own pros as well. It is just a matter of personal preference.
Good luck!
actually sometimes you wont have to reflash if it boots straight up into it

Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich Unlocked and Rooted

Hi. I thank you in advance for pointers and direction. I have searched around, but want to make sure I am doing the right thing.
I have an Infuse and it is unlocked. It is running with a T-Mobile SIM card.
I downloaded Odin 3 v1.7. I successfully flashed from 2.2.1 (Froyo) to 2.3.6 Gingerbread by using this ROM/Root that I found on another thread here:
************ OPTION C *************
I997UCLB3-CWM-root-deodex-extras.rar
Features in this version
- Entropy's Daily Driver kernel
- Red CWM recovery
- Rooted
- Deodexed
- Zipaligned
- Busybox
- AT&T and other bloatware removed
- Scrolling wallpaper fix
- CRT off animation
- 8 lock screens
- Extended power menu
- Accurate battery mod
The phone is working properly on the new firmware.
I would like to jump up one more firmware to Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean. Every method I can find seems to include root, and I am already rooted. That happened when I ran "option C" from above.
What is my next step? Can I simply flash a Gingerbread ROM through Odin (after, of course, putting the Infuse in "download" mode)?
You need to flash a (ics) rom from the CWM RECOVERY of the phone not using odin and then you can flash a jellybean 4.xx rom.

Cool. Thank you! I am not sure how to do either of those things. At least now I have some research to do.

Ok, I did a little research and I am more clear on the process - (download rom, put it on sd card, flash it using Clockword Mod while in recovery mode). I do have a question. Does it matter what version of CWM that is on my phone?

When I flashed cwm it was red recovery, which is what you stated you had in the first post by choosing option c
You'll have to flash ICS before flashing jelly Bean when you flash ICS it'll change the cwm to a more current one.

one last check ...
Let me check one last time before I do something stupid:
I have a rooted and unlocked (T-mobile service) Infuse. I had stock Froyo 2.2.1. I used Option C from a thread here that rooted it and gave me RED recovery. I used Odin and flashed the "extras" package.
I currently have build #: Gingerbread.UCLB3, kernal version: 2.6.25.7-I997ruxkg3-cl366622, firmware 2.3.6.
I would like to experiment with flashing up to ICS, maybe Jelly Bean.
My understanding is that I can simply drop a ICS rom onto my SD card and flash it from red recovery. Then I do do the same process to move to Jelly Bean.
Am I correct? Am I missing anything? Thank you ALL soooo much for guidance. I am learning and will pass it on!

Yeah.....its typed on Note 3.
Ok, I followed the directions provided and flashed Infinitum ICS. All works well with the rom. Recovery is distorted. I see directions which include Heimdall to correct the recovery.
Does that process just correct the recovery or does it revert me back to something other than Infinitum Rom? if so, can I repeat the process to get the rom back?
My next step will them be to move to jelly bean and be happily ever after.

When you update your phone you don't flash the gingerbread bootloaders right, you only need to flash the gingerbread bootloaders and that will fix the problem.

Ok, I blew it. Flashed back to Gingerbread.UCLB3, firmware 2.3.6 with Heimdall. Recovery is still totally distorted/unreadable.
Next move? I assume I should flash a Gingerbread bootloader. Where would I find the right one? I don't want to screw this up. Then I can move to ICS and then JB with no issues, right?
I 100% appreciate your help and I SWEAR I will pass along what I am learning to a newbie as soon as I get a chance!

Hey! It looks like I corrected the issue before you messaged back. I ran Heimdall again. Thought I had blown it. Screen went all speckled red yellow and blue on me. It was kinda pretty. I booted in download mode and it was speckled, too. I followed the steps to download mode even thought I could not see the screen. I flashed through Heimdall again, it ran properly, and then booted into download mode and ran with "bootloaders" checked. It seems all is well. Recovery mode is working (no distortion) and is blue (Android system recovery 3e).
Can I follow the steps I took to go to ICS and then JB (if I decide to go to JB) now with no other issues?
