[Q] Google Music FC? - Motorola Atrix 2

I'm running the 2.6.3 OTA rooted, and everytime I try to sync or stream from Google Music, it FC. I tried clearing the data, unfreezing everything, reinstalling updates and resyncing, syncing over WiFi on the first sync, and it still FC.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem on the MB865, and is there any solution?
Thanks!

Don't use the version from the motorola update.
Try another apk from a newer version.
I was using google music before the OTA update and was fine. After the update stopped working (version 3.something). Reinstalled the previous verions (4.something) and everything works as expected.

I tried uninstalling music from ROM Manager and then installing the Music 4.0.9 APK, and it still force-closes on streaming.

Go to the Android Market, then go to my apps. Google Music should be under "not installed"... click on it and then press the "Update" button. ROM Manager would not conflict with Google Music.
See if that helps it.

Okay, I did all this, and it's still FC. Are there any third-party apps that anyone knows of that can stream from Google Music?

Play Music Issues

I am currently have two issues with Google Play Music, running JB 4.1.1. The issues are:
1. Lockscreen widget: When I press play/back/forward the widget closes and the music stops.
2. Widget: I press pause and the music stops.
Both of these are intermittent.
I have tried re-installing from Play store, using TB to uninstall/restore, but with no luck.
I am running stock 4.1.1 but have tried CNA 3.4.1, AOKP Release 1 all with the same issue.
Any advice on how to fix?
Thanks
use apollo music, better theme support. you're in australia so no music sync/buying for ya, so you don't lose anything if you switch to apollo like me.
I thought the widget has always done that? I'm pretty sure it has for me anyway
Have you tried to clear Data and Cache from Settings | Apps | "Google Play Music" and "Google Play Services"?
Clear data, Cache & Fixed permission on CWM?
Lastly...I would try to do a factory reset (if this has happened since you upgraded from ICS).
I have tried various install methods for 4.1.1 from flashing zips to fastboot flash, with no luck.
I have installed Apollo music player from CM10 and it is perfect!
Thanks!

Youtube app: error press to retry

About 50% of the time this(see screenshot) is what I get when I use the Google youtube app. I can use another app like viral at the same time and play the same video and it always works. So the issue has to be with the youtube app. Any suggestions what I can do to resolve this? It makes the youtube app unusable most of the time.
I already tried it on different networks, clearing data/cache on the app, reinstalling, restarting, relogging. ..
Am I really the only one with this issue?
No you arent. Due to latest cm11 sources yt APP doesnt work with its latest version. Downgrade to 5.1.10 and it works fine
Had that same error also..i just installed older version of youtube app..

Google play music app issue

I'm having issues getting an error trying to play anything. I unchecked cache in the app, cleared data and cache through Apps in settings, deleted and reinstalled, this even happened in stock rom and a custom rom. Suggestions?
Bump for no resolution...
What is with another music titles?
Whether I stream or play downloaded music, I get the same error...
Do you have the app set to downloaded only?
It won't even let me play downloaded music. It's starting to get annoying...

Have you tried clearing playstore data and rebooting? Also make sure you have sufficient storage left on android data partation.

Hmm, nothing in particular comes to mind, but I did find this related Google forum thread: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/calendar/GzAJgihvQpo
That and, wat warvevo said.
I've been hunting around for answers since I've been getting this same Google Play -8 error since I reinstalled my ROM. Previously, I'd had MX and MX Pro both installed - great for playing music behind podcasts and audiobooks using the multiple instances! Now when I have one installed, Google Play goes to install the other and throws this code. As the workaround seems to be to install an older version first and then let Google Play auto-update it - which is what happened before, I'd installed the then-current MX version which Google Play later updated automatically - it would seem that the new MX Player updates are having difficulty avoiding conflict with MX Pro. I can only seem to get one or the other installed at a time.
That's exactly what I found. Had both players installed and suddenly had problems even though they had been working fine in the past. Deleted one of players and then it worked fine. Thank you for your reply.

I want to use an old version of Google Play Music but I can't.

So, I like the old Google Play Music app. It was simple and worked just fine. YouTube Music is clunky, and I don't stream my music anyway, it's all on my phone.
However, even with me disabling automatic updates for it, my phone will still update it after a day or two.
I tried re-signing it but then after uninstalling it and installing the resigned version it just crashes at start.
Is there any way, without root, to keep the app from updating or getting another signature to work with it?
My phone is a LG v60, on At&t.
