Anyone know how to get Craigsnotifica ? It was the best craigslist notification app on the market and it's gone. I just wiped my phone and flashed a new rom and on purpose didn't do a backup (wanted to start from scratch) but didn't expect this app to just not be on the market anymore.
Any ideas?

yea i was hoping asking around on the boards would be a little safer than just downloading from a google search haha. i'll take a look around though, but if anyone happens to know of a specific good link, please let me know.

I also could really use a copy of this, as I'm in the same boat.
Once I receive it, I will share it across 2 Dropbox Accounts, Google Drive, and a Minus account.
That's four mirrors for the price of NONE!
A PM or a reply, either or.
Thanks in advance.
I discovered a funny little trick, which is the reason I've been able to keep the app: I use the market app Appbak to create a text-file backup of all my installed apps. When I go to reinstall my apps, the app uses that list to go to each app in the market, and if Craigsnotifica is on the list, it WILL show up in the market!
Of course we should all keep a copy of the apk on our sdcards/computer.
Here is the apk: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18474790/com.mufumbo.craigslist.notification.android-1.apk
has anyone noticed that in the past week the app stops displaying the content of posts? it shows the title and the footer, but the main content is missing. I sure wish someone could pickup the dev of this app, as it is, as somoene else posted, the best CL app out there.
thanks.

Does anyone have an alternative to Craigsnotifica? The other applications I've tried don't have the RSS style and multiple item tracking that I have learned to love...
is anyone else having trouble getting the body of the Craigslist ad to appear on their device? This just started happening to me recently with this app.

Yeah, i noticed that too. Not sure why, maybe something changed on CL and the app hasn't been updated in so long.
I don't know if any of you will like this one, but i've been using cPRO craigslist client droid from the market. it does notifications, but they seem to use a lot of battery. But It works pretty well for me searching and browsing.

Thanks alot. I love this app...been using it for couple of years now. The latest version doesnt show the body of ad. I wish it worked though!
Its hard to understand why the developer took this app off the market...did he stop developing it?
If so, someone should carry on the button!!!

I changed the settings and got it to show the body/text along with the pictures etc to show on each ad. Prior to that I would have to click on the peace/craigslist symbol to see the whole add and not just the pics and location.
Once I opened the app and got into the menu I seleced Preferences/Storage/Cache Ads Data (checked the box) and all new post and searches now work like it used too showing the text etc and are also available off line to review later. I am using version 3.28
I am still using it on my G2x until it just flat out does not work anymore. All the other apps I've found just don't compare and all seem like carbon copies of each other.
Now I just need to figure out how to remove the ads since I can't purchase the full app.
Very sad. I tried this and the results came up empty for everything. Every other Craigslist app is crap in comparison to this apps simplicity.
Anyone try this other app in the market yet? It seems really simple, yet has all the features like notifications and posting even. I haven't put it thru it's paces yet tho...
Search for claspics in the market..
I used this tool to debloat the apps that i could not disable. I think caution should be used. Maybe we can list the ones that we've blocked...
I've got 69 apps blocked for now
It took me a while to find the export on the tool (Right click on the "Read Device Packages" to get to it) Thanks Misterxtc
Here is my list. It's all Verizon except wifi hotspot and setup wizzard, knox, amazon, loggers, OTA update and a few other misc bloat files. 52 apps in all. Load it with the debloat tool.

You mentioned in another thread that we need to debloat to block OTA's, could you be more specific please? Which apps in particular should do the trick if de-bloated? I'm not sure I'm ready to just blanket debloat, but I sure as hell don't want to lose FoxFi Wi-Fi tethering capability while we're w/o root.
-Thanks
EDIT: Is hiding SDM.apk and SDMViewer going to block the OTA updates?

Curious, does this actually remove the apps or just disable them? I am anxiously awaiting my Note 5 (supposed to arrive today) and after running custom ROM's on my Note 2 for the past 3 years I haven't had to deal with bloat in a long time.

While this is true root could be possible in one of the fixes. I usually wait a little while to install updates for one to see if they cause more harm than good and two in hopes of root being found in a exploit. I've had more than one phone screwed over from updates so I choose to block it until it's at least confirmed working properly from other users. It saves the hassle of returning the phone to Verizon for a replacement at the very least.

That would be SPDClient.apk but those updates are harmless because a factory reset wipes them out. They are also uninstallable.

Hey Guys,
Given we do not have root yet and some of us just require the minimal adblocking app, I wanted to present you Adguard.
This is a great App I found while digging around for non-root require adblocking. The app blocks popups ...well ads...from browsers and apps. In return, it speeds up browsing and even have a bandwidth saving. Also have build in VPN. Also great for those without unlimited data, your data wont disappear from you.
Click Me For Download
P.S If you turn on VPN, you might not be able to download let say, an apk you found somewhere. I had to disable VPN and download than enabled. Also, the VPN is a paid feature but the app allows you a trial. So up to you if you want to buy that later.

So does this program have any disclaimer that shows it does NOT track and store user browser data moved through its servers ? If they are collecting traffic data, that info is worth quite a bit of money.

Most of the root ad blockers just work on the host file level which is bad for speed, also it doesn't give you a breakdown of per app of which ads it blocked how much data it saved and have as function to turn it on and off.
The PC Version also works better than alot of the browser extensions out their.

It sums it up nicer but...
Last night I left Ad block enabled before going to bed. No apps running. Went to bed with 44% battery. Figured it would end up around 35% up waking.
8 hours later it was at 14%. Again, not sure why, but I've hard reset and I'm going to try again tonight. Seems to me the phone never went to sleep properly.
I love Ad Block - I even went so far as writing them thanking them, but I won't keep it if it's really draining this bad.

True. If the version you've tried before was 2.1.240 then it's better to update to the latest one (2.1.267).
We needed some time to figure it out because wakelock issue was kind of random, it's not that simple to get a "semi-closed tcp connection". But if that connection appeared it was a real problem.
Hey guys,
now its the time i finaly switch away from samsung to Oneplus for diffrent reasons. I except my new Oneplus 7t Pro next week.
So i used ''Disconnect Pro'' from Sasmung all the time for Adblocking/Tracking blocking in Internet and all system Apps. I guess this will no longer work on the Oneplus because of Knox. So im asking myslef, wich alternatives are out there for Oneplus ? Is Adhell an alternative or is there a smiliar free/pay app like DisconnectPro for Oneplus ? Im searching for an App, that not just block things in Internetbrwoser. In best case, i find something like DisconnectPro for system wide blocking. If there is nothing out, i would use my PerfectPrivacy VPN..not the best soulution, but better than nothing.
Beside of this..i cant wait till my new Device arrives next week :victory:

Well you can root the OP7t so if you plan on doing that then just get AdAway.
My suggestion is to forgo all of this stuff and just enable the "private DNS" setting to Adguard's DNS. It takes like 10 seconds, you don't have to install anything, and it gives you system wide adblocking without root... And it doesn't affect any previous DNS settings you may have set up with your phone and home modem/router. I don't know why this isn't talked about more.
Just go to "Settings/WiFi & Internet/Private DNS", and type out the DNS as I have here in the screenshot. No rebooting required.

Yeah, one of many reasons to buy this Device. I maybe Plan to, maybe not. I must see if i really need it, but if yes, AdAway will be for sure the first thing i install. Used AdAway long time on my (rooted)Samsung Devices, in my opinion is this one of the best Apps to do this Job systemwide.

Know what you mean but guess what ? In the Enddays of my Samsungtime here and now, i dont use AoD or the wohle notification system. I just set up that my apps send me a classic ping ton when a message arrives. So this saves in case of Samsung a few % Battery over the Day. Not too much, but a bit. With this, i dont just need a notification LED. But guess that is something, that everone must see for himself, if this way is good and right to you. For me, it is. Was a big AoD Fan at the beginning, was just a cool feature, but over the time, i see no benefits for me.

I've used CCWSE for a long time and right before the Note 20 Ultra came out he let his license lapse or something and had to switch to Package Disabler Pro. Not on the beta program so still on 10 but I bet they'll both be working when 11 comes out of beta.

Samsung revoked his license because he had a "free product" that you could buy a key for. Somewhere deep in the fine print this was against their rules.
He had to rerelease his product with a new license with pay only version and he is offering refunds to folks who previously purchased it.
That being said, CCSWE the new version works fine with Android 11 as of the current beta.

Hi Kdio,
Tell me please, how can I get that app and if is working without root.
I have Note 20 Ultra 5G Snapdragon version and it seems close to impossible to root this model, even though I had rooted all my previous versions and hate this bloatware.
I noticed the phone sending quite frequent notifications with hidden content and I can't do anything to stop it. It's so frustrating to have no full control over your expensive phone.

Will give it a try and hope it works. Really, it's touching to see how a small community as XDA is getting together for fixing the problems and offer freedom of choice to the end users, when this should have been done by the greedy manufacturer in the first place.
Thanks and hat off.
Ladies and gents, as our friend here Kdio has shared his knowledge with us, indeed I can confirm after two days of usage that the Package Disabler Pro version for Samsung (mine is Note 20 SM -N986U), is working fine. It disabled for me many bloatwares, even though some of them are stubborn, like carrier hub, which has to be disabled from the settings as well. However, overall is one of the best option for a non-rooted phone. I paid a small amount (about $5) for the app and received the pro key within minutes. If anyone here has better options, will be glad to know them. .https://packagedisabler.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/package-disabler-ultimate

Just to you all know that Package Disabler Pro is back in the game.
It took 38 minutes between my request for support and the successful reply with download link and new license code.
Hope you guys enjoy.
Nice regards.

Yes Samsung Package Disabler Pro is now working for me as well. I contacted support and they sent me a new apk. That one opened up and everything but it had bugs. They have now sent me a stable apk and it is working better than ever!

Started using this a couple days ago after the idiot with CCSWE lost his license again and yes it will work on all services.
The cheap way is using the ADB method from TK at xda @youtube same old commands.
I know, it's tedious, as apps might be reinstalled on updates, that's the issue with this and package disable app.

You're right it is cheaper but you can't enable and disable on the fly when your away from a PC! I have several root apps on my Note 20 Ultra that just need a couple adb commands to make them work. Been using adb since the T-Mobile G1, the only limitation is it can't be done on the fly.
