[Q] Baseband does not match after OTA update - Motorola Atrix 2

I followed all instructions to revert back to stock and did the forever root. (un-installed some att apps). Update says it failed but I have the new apps, the version is the 2.3.6 and the system and build numbers match. However, the baseband does not match what is listed with the update. Phone doesnt appear to have any problems so far, should I worry about it? On a side note, overall, my phone seems a little sluggish prior to updating. I am running stock rom, rooted.
Thanks

Try again... flash the fxz, root, forever root and then update. Don't install/uninstall anything.

I don't think it restores the baseband though.

so, you have the new baseband, but not the recent gb update?
I think he means the stock kernel? Watch the video and yes your kernel goes to stock.

I did the update from the LG updater but didn't like it. I just wanted to go back to Froyo with the old baseband so I can get the OTA update. I know the updates were the same, it is just person preference.
nvm...............
back to stock
yes i would also like to get rid of my garbage xboarders rooted LG ota 2.3.3 rom and start with a clean slate. i want to run the update either OTA or direct from LG updater, but I can't with the July 15 baseband. i'm having a lot of problems - i have to reboot phone to switch from wifi to data or vice-versa, echo sound through headphones, DTS makes music sound distorted and echo-ie, GPS takes FOREVER to lock on location (i even tried doing the hidden menu fixes), and a lot of times when I turn my phone it won't find a signal so i have to reboot (and i live in downtown portland, or), and tons of apps are just showing white boxes for icons, the whole thing is laggy as hell, etc. etc etc.. ever since i've had new baseband i've had tons of problems, regardless of what ROM i have installed. i've tried different kernels too.. so must be baseband right? i hope someone can help us out soon!

[Q] Rom Flash - Gummy or CM9

Before I started to flash a new ICS Rom (which I am quite excited about) I had a D2G on Hexen. I flashed the CM9 ROM and got bricked, so I SBF flashed back to stock and tried again. Again, a brick. I tried a third time with the same result and then decided to try Gummy instead (thinking there may be some issues with CM9 because it is in Beta). It also bricked. In the end I just flashed back to my backup that I saved from right before I began this process, but I would really like to take advantage of these new ROMs. If anyone has any advice I would be most thankful.
Some notes:
I was the the newest CWM Recovery Version
I checked all the MD5 and they all aligned perfectly
Thanks for any help I receive, if you want to know something else about my phone data during this procedure, just let me know.
so you flashed back to.33 or .608 before you flash cm9?

Hexen was made for 2.4.x stock firmware (Android 2.2 and the corresponding Motorola kernel).
All newer ROMs (CM7, CM9, Gummy, Apex, etc.) are based on 4.5.x. Update to 4.5.608 (preferably via SBF; do NOT accept any OTA updates once you're on 4.5.608) and proceed from there.
Ah thanks so much, I forgot that Android Firmware numbers had to match up, I will try again later tonight

If you are on custom rom, you shouldn't be getting OTA.
Try renaming etc/security/otacerts.zip to otacerts.bak

Thank you guys. Renaming that file at first did not work but after while those annoying updates have stopped so i think it's working.
What's weird is that even after reboot they still were popping up but only after some time they stopped. Odd. Thank you guys.
Now i'm getting some weird message about:"there was an error while trying to download the data. Please try again later"
This is famous pixelrom 1.72 fully touched. I love this rom
Hmm, I've experienced this on Stock 2.3.6 ROM, the download still showing but stopped, It's annoying but, I'd try factory reset & after it completed I'm turning on the phone without sim card (to ensure there is no internet connection) & renaming the "otacerts" file. So download will not be showing & not started

So weird. Even the data message went away now. Many thanks guys. I'm keeping this rom.
no problem guys, glad to help

I tried and removed ICS and JB. Went back to GB, it's faster less bloated and does the job for me. GB kept downloading ICS automatically and giving me nag messages to install it.
I found the following thread, which fixed the problem.

The trick is to install FOTAKill immediately after you install another rom, before the phone connects to the network.
To install it, I used the "adb push" method from cwm recovery.

[Q] debranding

ive recently got the p920 and it was locked to orange so ive unlocked it but now i want to get rid of the orange bloatware. I have now rooted and installed CWM recovery and have attempted to install a stock rom now heres were my problem starts the rom installs fine but there baseband doesnt so i dont get a signal ect. so my question is have i done summit wrong when installing from zip in recovery?
Any help with this would be great thanxs.
You mean that your mobile running 2.2 and you install a costum rom (.zip) ??
This costum rom may be a gingerbread rom so you must upgrade your phone officially before flashing costem rom .

yes i can see my imei number
my base band is L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
software version LG920-V20D-JUN-27-2012
android version 2.3.5
this is an orange based rom n would like to have it on stock
there is different stocks on different times (first was v10a)
this is not your base band This is INFINEON stuff.. go to market place and take GetRIL
Install. Run, See your base band version.
You can also isntall from there the recommended RIL for your configuration. Wait a minute (do not exit the program). if you do not have still signal - then RESTORE RIL back from the program (the program make a backup of you RIL when you install new one)
I've tried that getril and it said baseband matched but still no imei number once I've installed a custom/stock Rom. Looks like ill have to keep the orange Rom
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
IMO getril is pretty useless and most of the time you're better off when they don't match.
Why are you uncomfortable flashing a baseband? Its not as simple as a zip and can be a pain but once you get it, you have so many more options.

im used to htc phones n iphones n have never done anything with lg mobile hence the not wanting to do the baseband

Unknown Imei number VZW S6

So I purchased this phone yesterday. I have always rooted my phones and run custom roms. I rooted this phone yesterday with no problems. I flashed Clean rom 1.5 this morning with no problems and no back up.
The phone was saying I had a bad sim card. I checked under status and everything is saying "unknown". The Imei number is unknown. There is no network status.
I remember when I had another Samsung phone there was a way to recover Imei numbers. Does anyone know how to help? Or I'm I'm just screwed. Would Odin to stock rom work. I switched back to my G3 in the meantime.
Any help is great appreciated.

Just to follow up. I Odined back to stock and everything came back.

What version of clean rom did you flash and did you make sure that the phone was updated to the latest OTA before flashing? My advice would be to start fresh, grab yourself the latest version of odin and odin the phone back to stock. Once you do that take the OTA update and then come back and root again, after you root install the latest version 1.5 of clean rom and you should be good to go. Im pretty sure that I read somewhere that if you installed the latest version of clean rom without taking the OTA update first this would happen.
