Cm7 for LG MyTouch E739 - Miscellaneous Android Development

Ok we have a working CM7 Nightly for the LG MyTouch e739 ceated and patched by Giulio Cervera. I am not responsible for anything bad that happens to your phone.
Ok so first you need to root your phone if you dont know how then go here first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1407961
Ok now after you have successfully rooted your phone flash cwm recovery from rom manager you will have to select lg sol
Then download the rom and the kernal from links below.
Then reboot into cwm and
Wipe data/cache
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
then go to mounts and storage and format system
Then you can flash cm7 then the kernal if you get any boot issues go back into cwm And wipe and reflash it should then work.
link to cm7 http://get.cm/?device=e730
link to kernal http://db.tt/lswDa3ZJ
Happy flashing and enjoy
Thanks to anyone who helped dev this that i missed

this will be a temporarry patch, in the few next days i will look if is possible to use the same zip for both e730 and e739 or we will have to make a specific zip for e739
for that i need a dmesg from your device
reboot the phone and when it reach lockscreen
adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt
also i need to know about all the audio quality for all combination
call, mp3 and video with handset, speaker and headset and bt
Giulio

Giulio,
Thank you so much. Do you need the dmesg information while we are in cm7 or in the stock LG ROM?

rom doesn't matter

Giulio,
I'm PMed you a pastebin link to the dmesg output.

a quick look of it tell me about a specific build for e739 will be the only possibile solution
for now e739 users can use e730 build with the kernel attached or the one from my dropbox (it's the same posted by 78triton)

Giulio,
I got another md5 mismatch. I think this is happening because I'm downloading directly to my phone and extracting it with root explorer. I'll download it to my laptop and push over the files to my sdcard.

Wifi 802.11n on Desire 2.1

I can confirm this IS working on a desire 2.1!!!!
I have attached an update.zip that will enable wifi N on any desire running 2.1 and also will update the wifi drivers to the latest drivers.
Have fun!
Works flawless on my MCR rom
This is kernel dependant, please download correct file for your kernel!
If yours is not listed please make a post stating your rom and kernel and post your bcm4329.ko from system/lib/modules and I will update this post with a zip for your phone
Thanks for different zip's/.ko files go to:
FloHimself
peewster
PablosOne
For tethering use: http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...etail?name=wireless_tether_2_0_2.apk&can=2&q=
UPDATE:
How to make this hack your self if a zip is not available for your Rom:
Take bcm4329.ko from system/lib/modules and open it in a hex editor. Search for 'nmode' and replace it with '-----'. There are 2 instances of this so make sure you replace both.
After that download any 1 of the attached zip's and replace the bcm4329.ko in the zip with the one you just created. Sign the zip and flash!
Also to answer some other questions: changing to WiFi n will NOT make your WiFi faster because you can only be as quick as the slowest link which will be your internet supplier which in most cases is up to 8mb in which case WiFi g is more than capable. Updating to WiFi n is mainly for stability/greater distances from your router.
Also in theory WiFi n will most prob drain more battery than WiFi g but in my zip's there is k newer firmware which is suppose to help in battery drain. I have not personally noticed a difference but as a general rule if your not using WiFi then turn it off! That way theres no battery drain!
I hope this answers some questions for you ;-)
If yours is not listed in the attachments below then please check the following post first before replying: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6949980&posted=1#post6949980

The OP is offline, and therefore I'd suggest that others don't flash this untill the OP comes back with an update, or takes this down.

Nicely done again
So first of all I wanted to say that I tried it with your Package (SkyHigh) but I changed the vold.fstab with the Standard Galaxy S Plus one.
Then I booted up and got a lot of AudioManager Errors. So I inserted all libaudio*.so files from the stock gingerbread rom in your build.
After that I got Netd 1.0 Error.
Now i tried it with the stock gingerbread kernel but modded the init.rc file to match the "new" BootClassPath.
Now Netd is starting.
Here is the logcat from my last attempt: http://pastebin.com/GFM0zz6W

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What Does This MOD Do?
A. It will fix the Bluetooth bug ie. you don't need to reboot every time you want to turn on the Bluetooth. Though you still need to reboot once with Bluetooth On for this MOD to work. After rebooting with Bluetooth On, you can turn it off and on as many times you wish. But every time you reboot you have to turn it on and then reboot otherwise it won't work.
Q. On What ROM's Will This MOD Work?
A. This MOD will work for any Jelly Bean ROM for Galaxy SL.
Q. How To Revert Back If I Don't Like The MOD?
A. Well it's rare if you don't like this MOD. Anyways, as stated in OP, before trying this MOD take a Nandroid Backup or just backup the original Bluetooth.apk. If you didn't follow the instructions, you'll have to flash the ROM again or extract the Bluetooth.apk from your ROM and place it where it belongs.
Q. I Am Having "XYZ" Problem, How Do I Solve It?
A. Please see that you followed all the steps given in OP. Missing even a single step can cause problems. If you still cannot solve the problem by yourself or by reading the F.A.Q.'s, post your problem and many XDA members are here to help you.

I didnt need to flash any supersu files? Supersu is installed and i restored all my backups from TB so i know root is working fine without having to flash over anything else but the rom and gapps of course.
Does the camera only save to the internal storage?
@Bradlees wifi calling? No... I might add it later after I get the ui bug fixed (paranoid preferneces)
@DiViNEX CPU spy and the frequencies are strange. Logcat perhaps... Otherwise, I won't be able to track it. Might be the app conflicting with something because the built in cpu monitor looks fine.
@cheddarbob41 su files? Oops... old flashing instructions... I updated OP... Thanks
@mytasteinwomen Does the camera only save to the internal storage? For now, yes... Might change that to external storage later...

Before using this ROM, you must upgrade to ICS firmware. And install the latest version of wkpark's u-boot bootloader!

Thank you. I've been trying to think of a way to port paranoid to our phone. Don't suppose that could be a feature upgrade to your cm9 port?
I may try dabbling with this tonight considering there's a cm9 working port now.
Thanks for this I was just talking about cm9 man... our phone just getting better and better, glad I held out

I'm thinking the screen issue is a driver issue. Any way to use the lib's from 4.0.4 from xbsall to fix that and bluetooth?
Also did you copy over the camera from defcomg? Very awesome port btw, im stoked. This means we're one step closer to a paranoid and a cm10 rom

Im not sure this ROM actually works, can someone confirm it? After flashing, it just pops up to the LG logo and shuts itself off over and over when i try to turn it back on. Gonna have to fastboot to flash since I also cant enter Download mode, good luck on making this port work.

Did you flash it directly over gb? You should be on xbsa s port before you flash it

Yeah, im on the 4.0.4 port. Trying it over again, last time i didnt wipe "System" in TWRP (Its different from CWM, you can just use Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Cache in CWM but in TWRP you gotta do all 4)
