My number of text messages is growing and the longer conversations have slowed down the time it takes to load the message.
before this for my old Sony Ericsson i had a PC suite which showed every text message and allowed me to delete multiple or individual texts. Is there a PC suite that would allow me to do this on my HTC Desire S ?

Firstly you should post this on the Desire S forum not the Desire. To answer your question I believe that you can only mass delete conversation threads and not individual text. (To the best of my knowledge. Its been a while since I've used Sense) However you could try and see if HTC Sync has this option.

Hi,
This may have been asked before but I cannot find an answer to this on these forums.
I'm using windows mobile 6.5 (recently updated to the 'official' 2.53 rom) on an HTC touch diamond 2.
Whenever I get an SMS from someone (say 'bob') I've previously had an SMS from, when I click in the new messages icon, it does not show the new message. It stays on the previous message from bob, and I have to scroll up to view the new message. Very irritating.... and especially bad if there have been other messages (from different people) between the last message from bob and the most recent one. I guess this is a problem with the 'conversation' threading.
I can't believe HTC broke this, something so fundamentally straight forward. If anyone understands what I'm describing, maybe there is a registry tweak you are aware of which fixes this? However I've seen a few comments in these forums that the HTC messaging is quite crappy, so I'm not holding my breath...
Thanks in advance
Hi guys ... I have a really silly question .. I have an old Blackberry Curve 8700 which has some very important SMSs in it .. I would like to copy over all the SMS from this Blackberry Curve 8700 into my new HTC Desire Z ... Problem is I dont see any tool for the Blackberry which allows me to export SMS messages .. So my only option is to maybe somehow open up the SMS Database for my Android phone is some editor, and manually plant the SMSs from my blackberry by manually typing them in, and also setting the correct times as to when I received them, or when I sent them out .. There are only like 10-15 messages so I don't mind manually typing them in if I have to, but because they are so important, I have to somehow copy them over ..
Any suggestions ? Is there any tool available for the Androids which allows you to dissect and operate on the SMS database in an Android phone at low level ?
Any other suggestions are welcome too ...
What exactly is a "very important SMS" and why couldn't you simply just record the information in a text file or write it down somewhere? Email it to yourself? Why does it need to be loaded into the SMS database of another device? Why must it remain an SMS?
I hope that's not prying, but I just can't seem to understand why it would need to be kept in "sms format"

Its actually a business related thing .. I have talks with clients and its very important you have a complete chronological record of all discussions in your phone .. So I would really prefer to copy them over if I can as this would make my life a lot easier later when referring to these conversations ..
By SQlite you can edit a sqlite file and put it back into
take pictures with your new phone of all the SMSes.
Use SMS Faker. It let's you put fake text messages on your phone at any time. To and from.

Has anyone figured out a way to get WP7 devices to automatically download images in HTML e-mail messages without having to tap the "Download Pictures" links in the messages? I've read several threads on this site regarding that issue, but haven't found anyone yet offering a solution. My HTC HD7s is not in any way unlocked, but I have no problem doing that to it if a possible fix for this MEGA-ANNOYING issue involves using some kind of registry hack to get WP7 to do what Android and iPhone ALREADY do with no problem whatsoever!
Thanks,
Dennis
To me it makes sense for the images not to be downloaded for all HTML emails by default, just those you choose.
I get email from time to time thats rammed full of images and I reckon I'd rather download my emails quicker, without images and then just load them on a per-email basis when I think its necessary...
I hear yah. It is pretty annoying. In older versions of windows mobile there were settings to change this. Emails just look much better when open them and the images are there... I mean unlimited data why not they would download in the background when email is syncd

I just upgraded from a Razr 2 to an Artix 4G (stop your laughing, my son made fun of me enough for everyone).
I noticed that when composing a text message I cannot pull down my contact list to select recipients. I.E. I wanted to send an announcement to multiple recipients but it seems that I must know who and cannot browse my contacts. With the Razr you could go into your contacts and select multiple recipients. I see that if I start typing in the recipients for text a list from my contacts shows, but that is only contacts associated with the what I type, no the entire contact list. Anyone know of a fix or mod for this?

You are talking about trying to message entire groups of people? I use Handcent SMS to do my texting bidding. I believe it can do individual and group texting with the application. It is a lot better than the stock messaging app trust me. Go download it, it is completely free you will not be disappointed.
Oh and this is for Atrix 2 users, the Atrig 4G has its own forum with a ton of stuff in there. Enjoy!
You wont see it like that, just enter the first letter of a recipients name in the box and a list of contacts who's name starts with that letter will pop up, pick the one you want. Once you select you can repeat the steps as needed to get all the recipients added. Or you can use Handcent/Go Sms Pro.

Thanks for the info, and thanks for the forum notification. I just started here and am still learning.
There are several alternatives to the native text messaging app installed on the market. I for one use GoSMS Pro, just try a few until you find one that suits your needs and hood luck on your new device

Same here. I used Handcent for a while but wanted something different and Go SMS Pro is a nice replacement. I love how customizable it is, it even has a native theme creator. So far I've used Go Launcher and Go SMS Pro, they make good stuff.

Hi,
I was wondering, if it would be possible to integrate the Whatsapp messages for a contact in the sms history. So that you don't have to look up twice all the messages because you have them all at one place.
Furthermore, it would be great if i am writing a contact a sms who i also got in WhatsApp that then the message would automaticly send via WhatsApp. I mean something like that my phone checks wheter the contact is in WhatsApp and if yes sens over it and not a normal sms.
These two things would be fantastic because I never have to open up the WhatsApp App because everything is integrated and works automaticly.
Could this be done?

Any new posts about this? I just switched to Android from Blackberry and I find it a huge pain. Also I wish there was a number next to the notification icon on the top.For example is you have 3 messages it will have 3 and then the icon. I will look around for a fix for that on my phone.
