Ok guys as shdw03 pointed out there is now a 2300 mah battery that fits the vibrant and galaxy s 4g made by a company andida and under the vibrant page there is a thread called battery question where a Guy takes pictures of the battery in his phone and a comparison and from what he is showing in his screenshots as well as other people saying this battery is amazing. Check.it. www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S-I...da-2300mAh-Slim-Extended-Battery/280815179624.

As it looks they are out if stock I'm pretty content with my 1800 so I don't think I'm gonna get it but the reviews seam promising.

But I can't picture a giant need for a 2300.

If you're interested in a sturdy case to to go with that battery, you can order this one from Trident.

One thing i don't understand.
If you choose in the model SGS i9000 (which is the same size as SGS 4G) you get maximum 1850 mAh - so why we should use Epic 4G D710 model and SGS i9000 users can't ?

Good information, thanks for sharing.
1650 * 1.21 = 2000
Well, they should advertize battery as 2000mAh...
This battery works great! Makes the back cover fit extremely tight (you have to push down the side clips for them to clip in), but works great so far.
I should also mention that it makes the phone much heavier.
Can those with the batteries comment on the fit and the actual mah of the battery? I read the original thread and read people having problems with the fit and people reporting the battery to be an actual 1500 mah battery. Thanks.
Just got battery today.... Gonna post some pics. As other commented, the alignment of the contacts just a hair off, but works perfectly fine on my phone. Hard to take pics, but tried.the.best I could. Fit is good and the cover snaps firmly

Nope. When inserting the battery, it initially didn't turn on, but just slid it to the left and works fine. Lucky u guess. No cycles yet. Still on packaged charge for only about 30 min. Will check back the next few days. My reviews are based on my vibrant running ics tho.

Have you noticed a significant increase in up-time though? The thing holding me back is that the factory battery is 1500mAh, the extended is 2200mAh. That seems like a negligible increase to me, and I'm apt to wait for a Seidio 3500mAh or something so that it is at least a double...
I'll admit, though, I know nothing about battery numbers/ratings so maybe there's some sort of non-1:1 factoring where 700mAh more isn't really less than half an increase in up-time?
dang id only use it on extended trips without a charger
id rather have a extra battery kit they sell than the extended battery. That thing is horrible

I bought the extended battery for mine and couldn't be happier. I personally found the stock phone too thin and too light personally. I like the feel in my hand much better when using the phone. Added bonus is the fact that when I set the phone down with the screen facing up my camera is now raised higher and less likely to touch my desk or whatever. Only complaint is its harder to hold the phone between my head and shoulder now when talking. Overall I highly suggest picking one up. Still have yet to see a case that will fit it though.
i got it also dont use it much but its not bad at all!! Lasts forver!!!
Lol, that thing makes the Fascinate look worse than the Droid X.
I found a remedy for my phone: dirrk's LV 1250 voodoo kernel + superpower app + conservative mode setcpu = win. Now my phone lasts a whole 12hrs compared to 3 with heavy use. Standby time is also improved.

Depends on which battery you bought; I'm guessing it was an aftermarket one - there are lots of 'em flying around only some of them are better than the stock one.
Don't just believe the mah they state on the battery.
i'd check this thread, a lot of good stuff written on buying high mAH batteries of places like ebay.
Thank you for this post

I have a chinese battery (otb original) and, when it's some hours power the phone with that battery, is like if I'm making long press on home key, and constantly jump the window with last open applications. As if it were a charged capacitor...
Many of the batteries you can find on ebay etc are fake. The mAH is just a sticker and easily printed
A fairly good/simple way to test is to weigh the batteries. If the new battery is lighter, it almost definitely is fake.
Another way is to peel off the sticker. Usually the manufacturer will print the actual capacity on the aluminium thing under the sticker (I peeled off the sticker of a 2.99 battery that was '1500' mAH - said it was 1000 underneath).
Is this too good to be real? I think they have less capacity. Anyone bought 1800mAh batteries from ebay that really are 1.8Ah? It would be nice if the saler ship worldwide.
I am looking to buy an extra battery, the current one holds about 8-12h of (heavy?) usage, Wi-Fi always ON, 3G/2G depending on the signal, most of the time full brightness, 20min-2h games or movies, 20min browsing the web and a few calls, at most 20min and frequently looking at the clock.
I bought an anker 1800 from amazon, as far as I can tell it's genuine

It is bigger, more heavy and shipped with special back case
but automy is perfect with it !
From what i've read mugen are very credible for extended batteries, as are momax. Momax make a 1800mAH (to my best memory) which is the same size as the normal, or the 2700mAH battery which is a little thicker, but apparently gives a very good battery life
I`m using PolarCell 1800mAh and I`m very happy with staying power.

I got a 3500 mah, for $17 shipped. arrived in two days.
the battery and back case is hard to tell hoe thick from the pictures, I'm guessing its 1/4" thicker than stock. no additional protection to the camera lens over stock, other than the shelf the extended case provides. it feels heavier, bit easier to hold than with the tiny stock battery case.
the mt4gs is nearing end of life for development, so ill use it until its damaged, then upgrade .
charged well, and then started it up yesterday morning around 6am. I'm now at 29%, with almost 31hours of use. yes, the graph is wrong, as I plugged it in to transfer 15-20 pictures to the Mac for however long that takes. that USB port is 1.1, so if you really want to figure how much juice it received, figure about 3 minutes plugged in....
the majority of time the phone had wifi and 3g/edge on, with poor reception.
this is virtuous v 1.3 and Gmail, contacts, calendar and g+ photos syncing running at 1.3ghz, "on demand" throttling.
again, currently I'm at 29% after 31hours.

OK, I'm at 3%, after 35 hours , with no attempts at conserving at all. I've shot video, surfed, txt, all normal operations. with some simple conservation, I could squeeze 2 days easily. 3 would mean using airplane mode, or edge. this will be great for motocamping.

Surely easier just to carry a spare battery in your wallet?
Unless of course you're planning a month long trip in the jungle.
not to mention if a battery that big were to explode! you might be left with a stump of a leg!
I say that, but assuming it is a quality battery, a case that big might be nice for some people. I prefer slim, and carry an extra battery in my car or desk.
I use this one my S3 and it's amazing, best extended battery out there, I've gotten 3 day runs out of it.
And you guys are overreacting ahaha, it really isn't that big and it really adds some much needed weight to the phone and looks/feels much better then the alternative options out there obviously other then carrying around a spare battery and switching but that's a hassle keeping both charged.
A lot of the kernel devs over on the sprint s3 use it as well to try and get the best battery life possible with their constant kernel tweak updates - we call it squeezing 7000 lemons

I bought it primarily as an oem-sized backup battery. Instead of buying OEM, I'm just buying from ZeroLemon. I already have zerolemon's 7500mah for long hauls.
I'll probably wait for the official samsung extended battery. It's always good, NFC and marginally thicker.
i'll be curious to hear how they hold up charge length wise to the oem batteries once people have had a chance to charge/discharge them for awhile. Hopefully it will be good.
Any way to get this in the UK? Amazon.com's shipping costs are high and takes ages!

Just ordered
I may pick one of these up to use with the OEM wireless charging cover...it has a built in NFC antenna.
But I will probably wait for six months and get some wear out of the stock battery.

Can someone explain to me why we have Nfc but Google wallet doesn't work on our device? I know you can install it rooted, but I find it straight that it doesn't work out of the box. Is there another payment system that people use other than Google wallet? I know people use it for settings and exchanging pics and all that, so I get that part. Just making sure I'm not missing something....
