Better to use an undervolted kernel and/or underclock the cpu and run it at 800Mhz top to extend battery life than too get this behemoth

It is the ugliest, most lopsided thing ever...stay away.

Have you noticed a significant increase in up-time though? The thing holding me back is that the factory battery is 1500mAh, the extended is 2200mAh. That seems like a negligible increase to me, and I'm apt to wait for a Seidio 3500mAh or something so that it is at least a double...
I'll admit, though, I know nothing about battery numbers/ratings so maybe there's some sort of non-1:1 factoring where 700mAh more isn't really less than half an increase in up-time?

dang id only use it on extended trips without a charger

id rather have a extra battery kit they sell than the extended battery. That thing is horrible

My facinate already lasts a few days anyways so I don't see a point.

Eeeek that thing looks huge!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

My work paid for mine so it is the best battery and cover ever lol! Yes its thick but the rounded corners make it easy to get in and out of your pocket. Its nice not having to worry about charging your phone all the time. Just my 2 cents...

I also ordered 2 1500mah batteries on ebay for $9.96 shipped with a charger from the same company I ordered batteries from for my Incredible. They are cheap and work perfectly...

I bought the extended battery for mine and couldn't be happier. I personally found the stock phone too thin and too light personally. I like the feel in my hand much better when using the phone. Added bonus is the fact that when I set the phone down with the screen facing up my camera is now raised higher and less likely to touch my desk or whatever. Only complaint is its harder to hold the phone between my head and shoulder now when talking. Overall I highly suggest picking one up. Still have yet to see a case that will fit it though.

i got it also dont use it much but its not bad at all!! Lasts forver!!!

Lol, that thing makes the Fascinate look worse than the Droid X.
I found a remedy for my phone: dirrk's LV 1250 voodoo kernel + superpower app + conservative mode setcpu = win. Now my phone lasts a whole 12hrs compared to 3 with heavy use. Standby time is also improved.

The Mugen Power 1950mah battery is a GO!

I am posting this for my good friend ecooce. His words below.
"So some of you may know I now have an Epic Touch, and I just want to say I will be creating for both soon if all goes well.
I just wanted to show off the new Mugen 1950mah battery (which also fits the original Epic, actually a pertect fit). This thing is everything it says it is and better if you ask me. The numbers dont lie, I use my phone all day. I work 3rd shift which is the absolute worst on ones personal life, I may sleep 3 hours at a time just to try and do things on a normal time, its hard to explain. Anyways, I used the phone all day and taxed it several times with games, a movie, and some youtube. Screen was at about 40% brightness, auto rotate, no auto brightness. The ROM is old and built on Caulkins 1.5. I plan on doing all updates to 2.3.6 and may release soon.

And a side note to the OG Epic owners, I really miss interacting with everyone, we had some fun times, and I dont think any other phone forum will be the same for me ever. We had some real high moments, and people, even SINN I miss, I have to say. Other phones may get leaks, and have inside info, but no one did it like we did. I just wanted to say I miss you guys "
Nice, but $44??
I can get 2 1800mah oem batteries at that price.

I also question the capacity. These 3rd party battery vendors are known to fudge their numbers. While Mugen may be more honest than others, I don't think it's worth $44 to try it out. If the battery was really 1950 mAH, why aren't phone manufacturers using these instead of the smaller capacity ones?
You are aware that the 1500mah and the 1800mah batteries are the exact same size right? So the same could be said, why didnt the og epic come with an 1800mah battery?
Mugen has always equalled overpriced crap that's just as good as generic but more expensive then OEM lol
I have one also and I can say it is well wort it, and more so for an og epic owner, thats where this battery really shines.

They most certainly are not, the 1800Mah batteries are just a lil bit thicker. Fortunately for us, there is just enough clearance to put the battery cover back on. It's a tight fit, but it works.

2300 mah battery

Ok guys as shdw03 pointed out there is now a 2300 mah battery that fits the vibrant and galaxy s 4g made by a company andida and under the vibrant page there is a thread called battery question where a Guy takes pictures of the battery in his phone and a comparison and from what he is showing in his screenshots as well as other people saying this battery is amazing. Check.it. www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S-I...da-2300mAh-Slim-Extended-Battery/280815179624.

One thing i don't understand.
If you choose in the model SGS i9000 (which is the same size as SGS 4G) you get maximum 1850 mAh - so why we should use Epic 4G D710 model and SGS i9000 users can't ?

Good information, thanks for sharing.
1650 * 1.21 = 2000
Well, they should advertize battery as 2000mAh...
This battery works great! Makes the back cover fit extremely tight (you have to push down the side clips for them to clip in), but works great so far.
I should also mention that it makes the phone much heavier.
Can those with the batteries comment on the fit and the actual mah of the battery? I read the original thread and read people having problems with the fit and people reporting the battery to be an actual 1500 mah battery. Thanks.
Just got battery today.... Gonna post some pics. As other commented, the alignment of the contacts just a hair off, but works perfectly fine on my phone. Hard to take pics, but tried.the.best I could. Fit is good and the cover snaps firmly

Qcell 3800mah battery or Hyperion 3500mah battery?

Question is in the title. Which battery should i pick? Price doesnt matter between the two just looking for first hand experience.
Currently only getting about 12hrs on virtuous infinity with an anker.
An asap answer would be nice because ive got 2.5hrs left to be able to order it and recieve it tomorrow from amazon.

I'm using a Hyperion battery and so far, so good. With recently flashing CM9, Alpha 6, the battery life has dropped some (this is a known issue with CM9, A6) but I'm still getting well over 24 hours out of it, even with heavy usage. Before flashing CM9 A6, I was getting between two to three days out of it depending on usage. You can check out the thread in the accessories section about the Hyperion here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1713001
Thanks for the response! I might just go with the qcell because of reviews the mah rating and shipping.
Last question though, hows the cover for the hyperion battery? Does it fit the phone right does it feel like itd break on a drop?

No problem! The Hyperion battery does have some extra weight so dropping it might cause the cover to break but it does fit nicely on the phone and it feels pretty sturdy. I don't have any worries about the clips breaking off but I've only had it for about a month so I'm not sure over time if this will wear down or not. So far, so good though.
So about how long does the hyperion last you (please lmk the screen on time)?
Im a pretty heavy user with about 4hrs of screen ontime everyday. All i need it is to last me from 7am to 11pm when i get home to charge it overnight and ill be satisfied.

Just took these screenshots a short while ago. Unplugged my phone when my alarm clock went off at 7AM. I don't talk on the phone much but I did for over 40 minutes today, I do a good amount of texting throughout the day, mess with my apps, and did some surfing the net and some Stumbleupon. You might have more drain on your phone than I do but as you can see, there's still plenty of juice left. On average since flashing CM9 Alpha 6, I can get between 32-36 hours.

I got a 3500 mah, for $17 shipped. arrived in two days.
the battery and back case is hard to tell hoe thick from the pictures, I'm guessing its 1/4" thicker than stock. no additional protection to the camera lens over stock, other than the shelf the extended case provides. it feels heavier, bit easier to hold than with the tiny stock battery case.
the mt4gs is nearing end of life for development, so ill use it until its damaged, then upgrade .
charged well, and then started it up yesterday morning around 6am. I'm now at 29%, with almost 31hours of use. yes, the graph is wrong, as I plugged it in to transfer 15-20 pictures to the Mac for however long that takes. that USB port is 1.1, so if you really want to figure how much juice it received, figure about 3 minutes plugged in....
the majority of time the phone had wifi and 3g/edge on, with poor reception.
this is virtuous v 1.3 and Gmail, contacts, calendar and g+ photos syncing running at 1.3ghz, "on demand" throttling.
again, currently I'm at 29% after 31hours.
A link of the battery, Back cover if any and a picture of the battery itself is a must if you want to share the info here with us.
Posting a screenshot of your phone's battery graph only and not even having the right values you stated won't be of any use for us.

can't make the screenshot right, but my information corrected it. updated first post with screenshots and direct amazon link.
OK, I'm at 3%, after 35 hours , with no attempts at conserving at all. I've shot video, surfed, txt, all normal operations. with some simple conservation, I could squeeze 2 days easily. 3 would mean using airplane mode, or edge. this will be great for motocamping.
I would never be able to have a battery that thick for my phone, but cheers for the battery life

Already ordered mine. Cant wait to test this out. With my usage habits, the max screen-on time I was able to get out of my OEM battery was bit over 5 hrs (autobrightness). Let's see how much more time this ZeroLemon can add.

I bought it primarily as an oem-sized backup battery. Instead of buying OEM, I'm just buying from ZeroLemon. I already have zerolemon's 7500mah for long hauls.
I'll probably wait for the official samsung extended battery. It's always good, NFC and marginally thicker.
i'll be curious to hear how they hold up charge length wise to the oem batteries once people have had a chance to charge/discharge them for awhile. Hopefully it will be good.
Any way to get this in the UK? Amazon.com's shipping costs are high and takes ages!
What thickness is this compared to stock battery? I looked around but didn't find anything.

Just bought one as well. I love hte 7500mah extended battery, but if I'm ever in the slim mood, I'll surely turn to this over stock.
I've never used NFC and don't really plan on it.
I wonder why they don't include NFC? Maybe dropping it allows them to squeeze in more cells? Odd that they drop while most others include it.
