[Q] CM7 and bluetooth - Samsung Infuse 4G

Will bluetooth ever work on any version of cm7? I have had several different phones, xperia play, nexus s, lg optimus 3d, and now the infuse. I really like cm7 but without bluetooth its unusable. Is there any way to fix this or will there be?

Bluetooth works, it just doesn't support audio. This is because AOSP ROM's use an open-source BT 2.1 stack (supports things like Wiimotes), whereas Samsung ROM's use a proprietary BT 3.0 stack.

Free/open software can support BT audio. My kubuntu laptop plays audio just fine on my bt headphones, as does my desktop with a $2 2.1 BT adapter. My infuse was able to transfer files to my laptop at ~150-200 kB/s when it was stock froyo, but now it does 16kB/s, which is much less than a fifth of BT 1.2's peak bandwidth, or much less than 1/15 of BT 2.1+EDR's.
My phone with CM7 can also play audio on my headphones, but it stutters because it doesn't have the bandwidth.

A2dp motorola S9+windows xp

first off, major props to the xda community, you guys are the best!
now for an interesting problem/project:
It's been a month since I've purchased my Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details.jsp?globalObjectId=177 and have been amazed by what I can do when combine the S9 with my HTC touch and cyberon's voice dialer which is a voice activation program
I use it to:
listen to stereo music
launch programs
stereo music remote control
speed dial
raise and lower volume
teach iphone users the meaning of envy
just being able to do that with with the a2dp remote and microphone of the s9 makes it feel like it's 2030 where people are wired to computers and technology is transparent and everywhere. The s9 feels like sci fi technology... almost. the s9+htc touch is a great no hassle way of getting the information you want pumped into your ears
so as a tech enthusiast I've asked myself,
why the hell can't my computer do this?? i mean, it's 2008 and I'm still using a keyboard and mouse for everything?
I'm trying to make the S9's work on my mac book pro running windows xp+bootcamp drivers but windows doesn't even support a2dp much less handsfree wireless mic profile
i've an online tutorial by katy hxxp: www.djkaty.com/drupal/vista/bluetootha2dp but installing broadcomm's bluetooth stack gives me an error telling me that there is no bluetooth radio device detected which is total bull as i've been able to send files to my HTC touch via bluetooth. I've also tried installing another bluetooth replacement stack called bluesoleil; with no luck
I've also am about to start trying adding widcomm using this guide (http://www.dev-toast.com/2007/01/05/uncrippling-bluetooth-in-vista-rtm)
but in the guide said a2dp doesn't work with widcomm
anyways how do i make bluetooth a2dp work and my s9's mic to work via bluetooth on pc? is my ultimate question
also, if you could recomend a voice activation program that works as well as cyberon's voice dialer I'm looking for the type of functionality where I can press the voice button issue a command and then good stuff happens I bet lots of other people thought of doing the same thing like this
could you please help?
A step by step guide would be aprechiated
update: I've been able to install widcomm drivers version 5.1 and everything works... except the a2dp UGH!

BlueSoleil, with some external BT dongles, does support A2DP. It's just that the BT dongle itself must support it in hardware.
That is, shop for an external BT dongle if you do need A2DP.

thanx but i'm trying to get my internal laptop's bluetooth to use it I've heard good reports that i'm just using the wrong version of widcomm drivers.... time to reinstall everything...again
besides who wants to carry around a laptop with a dongle flopping around? i'll try to avoid the dongle solution if i can
A2DP and bluetooth stack
Having same issues here. My goal is using BOTH A2dp and Blackberry wireless sync via bluetooth (just a serial port).
I find it impossible as Blackberry will only work with native xp drivers and A2DP is not supported in xp.
Currently i gave up wireless sync and am using A2DP with Bluesoleil, which works fine for me.
Anyone ever tried using A2DP WITHOUT switching to a different bluetooth stack?

Question: Can a Bluetooth phone be used as an A2DP receiver?

I am too cheap to buy a bluetooth headset. So,
"Is it even possible to stream audio from a laptop or any other music source to winmo phone over bluetooth or wifi, so that I can use my current kickass wired mobile headphones"
Ive been trying to get something similiar to work myself, any progress from other members would do well posted here lol

Did you get any progress with this? I would like to play my laptop (Ubuntu) music on my phone whilst I go into the kitchen (for example) and I can't be bothered taking me laptop down. If not, I may have to find some wifi solution (though I'm not being too optimistic).
Yes it can work - but - you need a A2DP source that can transmit to the phone...
There is a product that nokia do that I have which is a A2DP gateway box which can either act as a receiver or transmitter to an A2DP phone - but I am not sure what protocols it needs to work... I assume, but dont know, that it works with general A2DP because it will receive from my S710 & Touch Diamond phones - although I have tried the transmit part of it yet the documentation clearly states it will transmit...
the device has phono stereo input & output ports which can be rigged through to whatever sound source you have in mind...
As I say though I havent personally tested the A2DP transmission facility but I very much doubt Nokia would say it worked if it didnt...
Hope that helps...
Well, if I already have an A2DP source, how would I go about getting the phone to recieve it?
news about it please?
I was about to start a new thread for this lol
I want to stream music from my macbook to my phone, and hook up my phone to my home stereo. That way i dont have to waste money on a a2dp receiver when my phone has the capability.
Is there an app for that?

[Q] Best car audio deck with Android phone?

Hi
I'm trying to buy an after-market car audio deck/receiver. After having spent a few hours at a car stereo shop, nothing I saw there seemed to work 100% with my Android phone (Samsung Vibrant running 2.2 custom froyo).
My first pick was an Alpine IDA-X303 which is intended for iPhone/iPod but has USB input, so I tried with my Vibrant with no joy either in mass storage or media player mode. The deck doesn't support BT so moved onto the CDE-103BT. On that one, it pairs with BT but supports only phone function and no BT audio. It picked up the Vibrant over USB but reported back "no files" yet I had placed mp3s in root of both internal and external sd. So despite it having USB and BT, it would be down to mic jack. I looked at a few other Alpines and they seemed to all have some sort of brutal shortcoming like these when connected to my Android.
I tried a JVC and the USB worked as expected, although track information didnt get displayed on the deck. And I perused the Sony's but really, I was after an Alpine and ultimately I want BT audio with the USB option just to charge if needed. Nice to have is support for streaming apps eg Grooveshark and Subsonic.
So I thought I would ask fellow XDA'ers: Has anyone had success with their phone over BT audio (or even just USB) with a car deck and not suffered major shortcomings? Can anyone recommend a car deck, Alpine or not, that supports BT audio properly and whether it works for streaming apps or what solutions people have found for running this combo? Whats the best deck out there right now for supporting music on Android?
Thanks!!
I'm looking at these head units with some features in addition to Bluetooth version 5.0

[Q] Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Stereo Headset - MW-600 / AVRCP 1.3 / Darky Rom 10

Hi,
I bought myself a Sony Ericsson MW-600 bluetooth stereo headset and it arrived today. I read that people had problems getting the track id display to come up on Android phones, but the media buttons worked.
I read that it worked fine on Gingerbread 2.3. I connected it to my phone and the media buttons work fine but the track display doesn't display. I have tried stock player, Songbird and MIUI Music players.
How can I verify the AVRCP protocol version in use on this ROM and does anyone know how to get 1.3 / 1.4 to work?
Darky Rom 10RC5.3, Darkcore 2.1, Lagfix On.
Thanks,
Burmo
Pretty sure the track display only works on SE phones. The protocol is probably not open source.
knowledge is Power. Guard it well.
Display does not work on X10 family either, not sure about Xperia Arc
Hi,
I have since found out that the Bluez Bluetooth stack, which is what Android uses, does not have support for AVRCP 1.3... so no Android phone has support for the track-id display...
Go here:

Click the star icon.
Wait patiently and say prayers

I have a defy, with 4.5.1-134 on Android 2.3.4 and the track id display works great. By the way the avrcp does nothing I would be happy with a change.

[Q] Suggest a ROM for bluetooth audio and Wiimote support??

What I'm looking for is a custom ROM that will let my Infuse 4g connect to a Wiimote so I can use it for emulators. I've tried CM7.2, and it allows the connection, but the bluetooth connections to headphones and speakers is completely awful. I use bluetooth all the time so this doesn't work. I've also tried Zeus and R3velation too, and the bluetooth works fine, but they can't connect a Wiimote. I read somewhere that it has something to do with the bluetooth stack, but I honestly don't know what that means.
Does anybody know of a custom ROM that has working bluetooth audio and the proper stack to allow Wiimote connection?
Of course it needs to be stable and have the basic functionalities.
Thanks for any help!
I am sorry to say that our phones biggest weakness seem to be the bluetooth as I wanated to do this also and it did not work. I even brought a small bluetooth keyboard to try to do the same thing and I could not get it to work.
