Help needed to pair Bluetooth Keyboard with Touch Cruise via Bluetooth

Hi all..
I picked up a HTC Touch Cruise from another site member and am loving it.. I am coming from a Kaiser that got...uhh. damaged.. I am finding I am missing the keyboard and I remembered that I had a nice bluetooth keyboard that I have previously paired with a WM2003 device I had (HP iPaq).. And for the LIFE of me I can not get it paired correctly...
The keyboard is a Microsoft Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth model 1002.
The phone sees the keyboard, and tries to connect.. but here is the problem...
The USUAL way to pair this keyboard is you search for it (phone does this), click pair, (check).. then you are supposed to pick "pick a code for me" and then type that code in the keyboard.. But there never is that option... I don;t meed to sound like a noob, but can someone give me a step by step or some other method? Thanks in advance...

iGo Bluetooth Keyboard

I have the iGo Ultra Slim Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and can't use it with my Desire. I can pair it just fine, but after pairing I can't connect to it and use it as an input device.
Has anyone figured out how to use a BT keyboard with his Desire?

Hate to say this:
Search!
You have a HID Keyboard, byt you need a SIP Keyboard, like the Freedom Universal.
The you have to get a good BT driver.
What I find out :
HTC uses old bleutooth stack with its Sense UI and I failed to connect my ThinkOutside keyboard with several successful solutions for other android phone.
Now I am very happy typing with it on my Desire with the OpenDesire ROM. It recognizes it and connect with it straight away and even some of the function keys works (tho not yet for the task specific keys).
But have to give up Sense UI for that. But I find that it's pretty fast to just restore to another ROM with Sense and I can get best of both worlds.

[Q] Using Apple or other Bluetooth keyboards?

I tried to pair the touchpad with my Apple Bluetooth keyboard and it could not find any Bluetooth keyboards. Does is work with any non-HP keyboards? Should I be worried my bluetooth radio is broken (needing warranty)? Do I need to buy the HP keyboard?
Thanks
I updated to the latest web os 3.0.2 and still have this issue. Any ideas?

I tried as well - no luck.
It sees my Apple BT keyboard.
Asks for Passkey. I don't think I have one - did you get that far?
nm, i got it to successfully pair. Basically when it asks for the Passkey you have the enter 8 digits...
and then it'll spin - then you enter that on the keyboard and press Enter and for me it worked.
With the Apple compact aluminum BT keyboard. it's kind of delayed so maybe I need to charge my batteries on the kb.
it's definitely working though.

Success with Logitech MX5000
Last night I successfully paired my 32GB Touchpad with a 6 year old Logitech MX5000 keyboard. It was nice to have a full sized keyboard when I had alot of typing to do.
i'm interested in this due to the release of that upcomming thinkpad keyboard that will go with the thinkpad tablet. Was planning on buying one but seeing as I now have a tablet which works perfectly fine for what I will be doing (writing scouting reports) I may just see about the keyboard.
I was trying to get my wii mote to pair but it would not. From what I understand, the bluetooth stack in the touchpad is extremely limited.
I got it to work with the Verbatim folding portable BT keyboard.
If anyone is looking for a mini bluetooth keyboard that works I can confirm that this one works great http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mini-bluetooth-keyboard-for-android-wince-nokia-symbian-s60-cellphones-black-37863 And its only $18.70, the placement of a few of the symbols like the arrow keys take a while to get use to, but it works great and you can thumb type quite easily on it.
Edit: I found what looks like the same one on ebay for $11.88, not sure if you can post links to ebay here so just search "Ultra Slim Mini Bluetooth Keyboard For PC PS3 PDA" and you will find it.
I just got my Touchpad to pair with my old, folding Dell Axim keyboard. Works pretty well too.
The trick was a 4 digit code entered on both the Touchpad and the keyboard.

Does anyone know if a bluetooth case keyboard like thishttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Ipad-Leather-Case-And-Bluetooth-Keyboard-/300570582168?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item45fb671c98#ht_4233wt_1139 will work? Or if anything can anyone provide feedback of a keyboard/case similar to this which worked on their touchpad? Thanks

I scooped up an Adesso BT keyboard/case intended for an IPad at Compusa the other day, and was able to successfully pair. I've posted my method in another thread but will post it again in here because I first came in here seeking the way and didn't find it .
www adesso com - under ipad2 keyboards
The Bluetooth Keyboard. - In order to pair with this thing, you must
- turn on bluetooth on Keyb and touchpad
- search for keyboards in bluetooth prefs
- put in a key on the touchpad screen
I used `12345678"
- then type the same on the keyboard (NOTE* You will not see any prompts on the screen, just type "12345678" and press enter. ) This was how I got it to sync and have been able to repeat it . SYNC
I was able to pair mine with a Motorola Bluetooth Keyboard (came with my old Atrix), it asked for a 4 digit passkey, I entered 0000 and it let me thorough.
none of the function keys work but all the generic keys do so will do for now.
I had no problem pairing with my Zaggmate and the bonus is that the iPad is the same size so I can dock it for typing and put them together for transport
I paired my Apple Bluetooth keyboard with the Touchpad and it works great. I wish the volume keys and all that stuff would work too, but I guess just being able to type fast is good enough. So here were the steps I took to pair it
1. While keyboard is off, hold power button until it goes into pairing mode (the light starts blinking a bit).
2. On Touchpad, search for wireless keyboards and select "Apple Wireless Keyboard".
3. On Touchpad type in any password you want (I used a 4 number pin).
4. Right after you click OK on the Touchpad, type the same password in on the keyboard and click the enter key after. After this, the keyboard should be paired DDDD
I just bough a Bluetooth keyboard for iPad, its a folding leather protective case. It works great. To get it to pair just enter 12345678 on the password and hit enter. If that doesn't work also hit 12345678 on the keyboard and enter. Its just a bummer that the arrow keys do not allow you to scroll down web pages, but great for taking notes or composing emails!

CM9 Bluetooth keyboard

Hi guys
I'm having an issue with the apple wireless keyboard working with CM9
this happens on both official nightly CM9 (I'm on that now) and on OpenSensation.
I have had a couple of reports from other users that some other bluetooth keyboards work - but nobody that i found that specifically uses the apple wireless keyboard.
This is what happens:
I turn on bluetooth and go to pair the keyboard. half the time the pairing takes a few goes, and often i have to restart the bluetooth. When it does connect is says "connected" on the bluetooth settings.
however, there is no input or reaction from the keyboard. It's as if the keyboard doesn't know it's connected. disconnecting and repairing doesn't change anything and neither do full wipes or cache and dalvik wipes.
Anybody got any thoughts on this?
bluetooth keyboard
usually the bluetooth recognition keyboards are "specifically" for those phones.... if other ppl can use it, perhaps its because their kernel settings have been changed or it doesnt detect for some incompatible issues and it allows them to use the keyboard, do u have a custom kernel and or custom version of htc, from the development section? usually a custom kernel can modify this setting and allow your bt keyboard that's not made for the htc to work since it will bypass the verification part
Hi, thanks for the reply.
As I said I'm on official cm9, I tried a different kernel to see if it would change, but no, by default I'm on the standard cm9 kernel, whatever that is.
I believe that open sensation used faux (correct me if I'm wrong), I'm not certain about cm9. Either way, other people on open sensation had other keyboards working for them and hopefully they would have mentioned if they were using a different kernel...

no more thoughts on this?
faux kernel knocked out wifi and BT on CM9 nightlies, so that's out of the question.
any help would be great!
CM9 + Apple BT Keyboard
Same behaviour for me (I'm on a Nexus S though). CM9 nightlies, Apple BT keyboard pairs fine and says it's connected but then no keystrokes are registered on the device... nothing happens when I type. Frustrating!

iPega gamepad in CM10.1p13

Hello,
This is probably a long shot but I was wondering if anyone running the latest official CM10.1 preview has an iPega Bluetooth gamepad and if it is with working for them? Mine was working when I was on CM 9.1 but not since I went to CM 10.1. It pairs but none of the apps that had worked with it before recognize the input using any input mode. Other than that the ROM seems to be fine and hats off to the devs for the great work. Thanks.
So it turns out that I am having the same issue with a BT mouse (MS 5000). It will pair but not connect. I have unsuccessful tried several things like resets, reboots, and some of the bluez related fixes posted on other forums related to this specific accessory. (From what I have read, bluez is not the method JB uses for bluetooth anymore so that did not work.)
The controller is supposed to just act like a BT Keyboard (in the way I have configured it). I am wondering then: has anyone running this rom successfully used a BT Keyboard or BT Mouse?
Thanks.
As a final update I sold the ipega and never did see it working on CM10.1. However I did pick up a Moga which works well with the universal drivers in the play store.
