Did they ever fix JD for the Charge? - Verizon Droid Charge

I remember a few months ago we heard the Juice Defender team say that they were going to add support for the Charge but I haven't heard anything about it since. Is our device supported yet? I can't seem to find a definitive answer on Google or the XDA search engine.
I'm only curious because I've been hearing people on XDA/Rootz say that they were using JD which leads me to believe it's working.

I set on aggressive and everthing is working fine. I used facebook a lot and no connectivity issue or any others. You can download the free version and try out.

Tested it out and JD seems to be working. Awesome!

i personally use balanced mode so it doesnt interfere too much with the system process

The issue was a bug with the implementation of Froyo on the phone, not with JD. Gingerbread fixed the issue (and did so from the very first leaks).

when i was using it, it mainly worked, but i ended up uninstalling it because a lot of the time my data wouldnt come back and id have to toggle data and that became a real annoyance.

That was a Froyo issue. It's never been a problem in GB.

Anyone notice Juicedefender is not working too well with the new GB update? My radio seems to stay on a lot when my screen is off for some reason...explaining the increased battery drain. Anyone else getting this?
Just wanted to note that it's definitely not a baseband issue, because I'm using the new baseband with CM7 rom and JD Ultimate works perfectly. I have not tested JD on the new 2.3.3 rom, though.

Yes, I noticed exactly that too. My Juicedefender log says

WARNING Permission denial: writing to secure settings requires android.permissions.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

finally it says

Gotta say I'm getting the same thing. Kind of sad too, cause I had just gotten JD the day before. D:
Anyone know a fix, or something?
Yeah, it's not a baseband issue. I had the log say the same thing with stock GB+old baseband as well as stock GB+21f. No issues with stock Froyo however, which was why I got way better battery 'cause JC was about to do it's job. Oh well

I was (am?) in the same boat. I re installed the free version of JD and that seemed to help a bit. IIRC, you have to have both the free version and the paid-for version.
Could it be a root issue? On the new 2.3.3 I have not yet rooted.
DB
The only way root could be an issue is because the bloatware is now unfrozen with the new GB update. I rooted my phone only to freeze bloatware and then I unrooted it and ran JD Ultimate and battery was pretty good. Since the update unrooted, it's having a problem turning off the radio signal while the screen is off. That, combined with bloatware I think is the culprit.
I am rooted and JD still won't turn off the radio when the screen is off. I downgraded to version 3.5.0 and I still get the android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS error in the log. Strangely though, the battery life has improved. It might be a result of the newer baseband and getting rid of bloatware, I'm not sure.
I think I might've found a solution. You need root for this to work. Download Fix Permissions from the market. Open the app, navigate to Juice Defender and select it. My radio is now able to turn off without any errors. I'm sure this will significantly help battery.
I always fix my permissions via cwm, but just to see I tested that step with the app. It did not work. I miss jd already... =\

Disabled JD and my battery now is pretty solid. Lost maybe 5% is 4 hours. I'll leave it installed but disabled until its updated.
Also, my radio signal is haywire again...comes and goes, emergency only...and since the update I'm lucky to send an mms , mostly just sits there trying.

ICS Perfection

I have been here reading about the glitches folks are having with the ICS leak such as shutdown-reboot freeze, freeze on mms deletion, battery consumption and others. I am happy to say that I have not experienced any of these glitches, other than the contacts tab missing from the phone app (and thats is not even technically a glitch). I have been resistant to flashing any of the new CWM Roms because this original oneclick version runs so perfectly for me. Is there anything from my phone that the Devs might want to look at to help narrow the cause of these issues that others are having?
Same, no issues here. This is the first leak that I have had no problems with.
Same here no issues except for shutdown :-(.... Im trying to fix though

First flash I had no home button, second flash (current) my home button is a little laggy, all the other buttons vibrate isntantly but home has a very slight delay, doesnt really affect anything. everything else seems to work, except google wallet for me.
first flash was perfect, i borked it trying to import AOSP pieces haha
second flash was no home button, factory reset fixed that, still have the reboot problem though.
sometimes when i use rynga or viber i loose the incall sound so i have to restart the phone to fix it.. and i use them but then i loose the sound again

Nope, no FC on deleting mms or sms. I will make a screencast video to show the normal operation. I was hoping that maybe some files in my phone would be useful to a dev to get it fixed for others. The only thing I have done to it other than install basic apps is to root and add GO Launcher with ics theme.
Can anyone confirm that tethering (non-AT&T approved) is working with the leak? That's the one thing keeping me from upgrading from the GB from I'm on.

Is this better? And to be clear, I never said it was a "fix" or "workaround" in any way. Read the OP, and you will see that this is the one click method install with no mods other than root and Go Launcher. I stated it worked on it's own correctly.

Scott, thanks, lol. I am SO tired tonight. I edited. Now could you edit it from your quote please? Thanks again.
I have done some further reading and noticed the people not getting these problems are the ones such as myself who did no kind of wipe before using Odin and oneclick solution to upgrade from GB to ICS. I did no wipes only because I got ahead of myself accidentally. Maybe this time it paid off for me. Has anyone looked into the possibility that it is the initial wipe process causing the issues that are being presented?

Why would they do that? The whole point of having a smartphone is having instantaneous access to your info and using these features. This is a known bug affecting many. Supposedly oneplus one will fix this with the next ota update.

Things running constantly so that you can have instantaneous and continuous access will drain battery-operated electronics. That's nothing unique with OPO, other smartphones, or any other electronic device which runs on a battery.

Yes it will drain your battery, but not excessively like the google services bug present in cm11s. Most people don't buy a smartphone to have everything turned off on it. My g3 has all the same things constantly active and battery is a beast on it.

Are there any reasons to update to 4.4.3 aside from it simply being newer?

Are there any specific reasons for 4.4.3?
Is the radio better?
Is the OS faster?
Are there fixed bugs?
Are there fewer new bugs?
Is it more stable?
Is it more power efficient?
Are any of the above also true for the HTC+Verizon version we are given, as opposed to pure Google?
I would like to know this also. The only bonus I can think of is EPS mode which isn't as good as I thought it'd be (since I use different e-mail and text apps). So the biggest deciding factor for me to get 4.4.3 is a wash unless someone points out a bigger bonus that I'm missing. Till then 4.4.2 w/ Weaksauce is where I stay.
Its up to you. As there is a lot of fixes. But depends on the person. And what ROM your running. If you have your phone setup perfect and everything running great. Leave it alone.

OK Google works on any screen or while using any app. Also when the screen is off (while charging). Handy if you are one that uses it.
A lot of bug fixes and some new minor issues bit not much of a change. EPS mode enabled but actually preferred the regular PS which can be enabled by changing the value to TRUE in the defaulf.XML file.
I'm sure you saw a ton of news about Heartbleed. I believe all of the openssl libraries were updated in this release.

These features are available in the ok google settings on 4.4.2.
The settings were there but they didn't work. Works only on 4.4.3. Or at least that's what I read while trying to find why it wouldn't work for me previously (was on 4.4.2). Since updating, it works great.

Why does it cause the GPS and BoomSound logo to pop up every 3 seconds or so
Edit: After a day of use that app is garbage, Only works half the time and drains the battery way faster than it should(yes I understand its listening all the time, its worse than that.) Plus its using gps all the time, cant think of a reason it needs my location when all it does is trigger google now to start.

I've had it for almost a year, and yes it does use its fair share of battery, but u have to program it right. Being that it was made BEFORE Google released the ability to have it listening on all screens , there's an option to have it run ONLY while the screen is off, and I'm not sure what u mean about the gps, because it doesn't use location for me at all. U also have the option to blacklist it during certain apps (donate version ) its most certainly not "garbage" as There's really no other apps out that enable the always listening functionality… and if you do the regular ok google command, that makes the boomsound icon appear as well. So if you're saying your constantly seeing it, that means u didn't set it up right, u had it running ON TOP OF Google's always listening as well… so of course its gonna drain your battery… If u program it to only listen while the screen is off, you'll only notice the boomsound icon for a split second when u turn the screen on, and then it shuts off and googles listening takes over…

Battery problems (maybe deep sleep)

Hey guys. I got some battery problems. Although my battery lasted 2 days I'm not happy with it.
I have no idea about deep sleep but I think my phone doesn't. I lost 10%!!! over night in airplane mode.
First of all I'm not using any gapps at all.
Im on cm12.1 15th nightly but earlier versions resulted in the same.
Then I have mobile data disabled 90% of the day, I usually use some wifi over the day. And some Bluetooth when I'm in the car.
I made some screenshots, maybe someone can tell me something about my battery problem. Thanks!

Yeah. But the battery drain is caused by the OTA update checker !
That fix worked for me.
