Did you add arabic support to your phone?
how can we ?
maybe you should try installing the Arab ROM. It's available here.
hi
here is a progrom works fine to read arabic and persian on htc s710
I got it from Dr. Martin Gonzo's rom
install the attached .cab file
http://rapidshare.com/files/98537421/SmartArabizerLoc.zip.html
If you have a problem to read inbox messages after install go to IE and set: menu-tools-options-general-encoding-Unicode(UTF-8)
special thanks to DR. Gonzo.
and how can we write arabic ?
It it my problem too!
I'm working on it
Here are the original t9 files from the arabic rom. I don't remeber if they are installed by the arabic cab too of if it just allows to read arabic.
I've also included the english drivers because if I remember correctly drivers from other roms where not compatible with these
Also here are I think all the registry keys involved
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9]
"InstallFolder"="\\windows"
"AvailableLanguages"="0109,0101,010C"
"ShowExactKeyStrokeThreshold"=dword:00000000
"DefaultLanguage"=dword:00000101
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME]
"TextInputMode"=dword:00000001
"DefaultInputModule"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME\KdbDlls]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME\LanguageKeyboardIDMapping]

"010C"="eT9.French.Ldb.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
"3PartyIME"=dword:00000001
You could try to build a cab out of it.
Sorry I don't have the time to do it but I thought I could throw a quick help.

Hi Dr Gonzo
I changed the values but arabic type is not possible
If I install Dr Gonzo's ROM can I type Arabic then?
Dr Gonzo
Please Do something for us , we really need this language .
Sorry to interrupt guys,
Just want to know if someone of you could read arabic sms on HTC S710.
Thx in advance.
De.Gonzo
Please i flashed with one of your great roms but i lost arabic can you help where i can find the offical w6 arabic rom to go back.
I realy apprecheat your help on that
For those of you who are having problems reading messages (get blank messages) after installing and enabling a language pack:
Details follows... skip to the last if you do not want to bother.
First understand that the inbox uses HTML to display your messages, therefore, the settings for the display are located in IE and not in inbox itself.
When you install the language pack (arabic here), the encoding will be set to correspondent installed language, but that's no good as inbox will fail to decode the message header and it will show an empty message.
to solve this, set the option menu->tools->options->general->Encoding to Unicode(UTF-8) in Internet Explorer *AFTER* you setup the language, enable it, and restart.
After you change the encoding option, you must restart the messaging application (or the phone if you don't know how to stop an application).
After that, you will be able to view the messages in inbox and in the proper encoding.
thanx ppczouz, it worked for me. but as u know, arabic is right-to-left language. now it's left-to-right and each letter appears seperate. for example : the word "اهلا" appears "ا ل ه ا"
i dont know if u get my point or not !!!!!
ARA ROM
Hi,
why you do not simply install the ARA ROM?
One reason for not installing Arabic ROM is having WM6.1 installed.
Sadek, the Arabic ligature should work properly. Since they are not working, I assumed that you did not install the CAB mentioned above.
Here it is again

I Need Arabic rom
I got mine from dubai and it had a english rom. So I don't think there is a arabic rom. Didn't I-Mate only support Arab??
Yes, my TyTN II, purchased here in Muscat, was packaged for sale in the Middle East and it has a WWE ROM
And no bundled GPS software but that makes sense as Middle East GPS maps for WM PDAs does not seem to be available from any GPS vendor. (Probably has something to do with the war in Iraq...)
As far as I know only i-mate offer WM PDAs with support for Arabic.
Head to this link for full instructions on how to install Arabic to you phone
Click Here
Tytn II is to be launched in Egypt at the end of november, Sales manager in the HTC dealer in Egypt confirmed that it will have arabic and arabic keyboard too. I hope so.
I am waiting for it to buy.

Can anybody translate these instructions to English.I need it for a friend.
Here is a quick translation.
Basiclaly the page goes through all the usual things of upgragin, Hard Reset etc.
In point no 8 it talks about installing the Arabic Plugin..
<<<<<TRANSLATION STARTS>>>
8- Arabisation Files Numbered - Full "In my Pocket" Arabisation with Keyboard Activation (Thanks to E.Engineer)
[Screen Shot]
>>>>>>NEW>>>>
Download the following file:
http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/redirector.php?url=http://www.xda3.com/f/get.php?filename=1194528617.rar
un-zip in any location on the memory card, you will get a file called "Autorun"
execute and install in the internal memory
[2 screen shots]
Second copy containes the Holy Qur'an
http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/redirect...hared.com/file/28748330/246a9862/autorun.html
To activate the external keyboard, choose Arabic from the screen to write in Arabic or English keyboard for writing in English
<<<<<END OF TRANSLATION>>>
Note that you will need to select Unicode from SMS options as arabic letters are considered unicode.
Hope this helps

Arabizing your current ROM
After you download the "autoRun" file from the following link, http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/redirecto...1194528617.rar
extract it and copy it to your SD card. But when installing make sure you install on your device. There are four programs in this file. When prompted to install, do install all, but again make sure to install onto the Device... Not the Sd card.
After all installed, you can remove the program/s that you do not need.
It is recommended to do a Soft Reset after the installation is completed.
The Alarm days abbreviations could show in Arabic, to change back to English ( Latin Letters ) you need to go to
Start/Settings/System/In4Mobility and change your location language to English USA. This change will still enable you to write and receive SMS in Arabic.
Good luck.
Does this enable external keyboard to type Arabic? because since i have change my ROM the QWERTY keyboard is English even after installing FJE the QWERTY keyboard is english

Can use other input method ? Such as "Anykeyboard"
Yes, sure you can ... yesterday i got one from Nasa (nasa4ppc . com) (Middle East Version) with full arabic Keypad. you can read & write ...
Really it's excellent device .. I love this ChaCha
Just tap into the "text input" for two seconds till yo see " copy , past , input method "
then chose input method. finally, chose the desire language
for Arabic >> chose : Arabic keyboard
for English >> chose : touch input
In Arabic keyboard you can swap easy between Arabic and English language.
Android phones in Canada do not support the Arabic language for some reason. The letters are all disjointed which makes it really hard to read.
I'm waiting for HTC to unlock the boot loader so I can download an Arabic ROM for it!
Edit: I recently found out that Sony Ericsson supports reading and writing in Arabic. It's the only company to do so in Canada......... for now!!!!!
You Have Lots Of Ways
Well,you can use several keyboards.like Persian Soft keyboard and Smart Keyboard Pro.
They both support QWERTY keyboard, But I suggest you PERSIAN SOFT KEYBOARD which supports Arabic & Persian as it's name goes so.
My ChaCha doesnt read the arabic language correctly, its viewed in separated letters, my Phone is S-On but i recently Unlocked the Bootloader using the HTC Dev website and i installed the ClockWork Recovery and rooted it.
Is there a way to enable the arabic thing for S-on rooted ChaCha
Thnx in Advance
Search in the fourm for arabic rom and install it on ur chacha
