Hi Guys
Everytime when I flashing my sgs I think: What should i backup? and what from this backups can i restore with the new ROM?
- I know to backup my Apps (without data) and restore this with titanium
-But what is with my Android-data folder ? I only copy and paste it with a Explorer Manager like Super Manager?
-And my google calender? (only want to backup it once before flashing)
-where do the phone saves "save-files" from games? extra folders? or in the current ROM?
- I read sometimes to make a nandroid backup in CWM. But there stands nothing with "Nandroid backup"..
Thx Guy for helping !

A Nandroid Backup is made After installing a Custom Recovery on a Rooted phone!
If you install a app called Rom Manager from the market, you can Flash a Recovery by selecting the option in the app that say "Flash Clockwork Recovery"
From there you can Create what's called a Nandroid Backup, which Will basically save your whole phone in a backup file on your Sdcard... PM me if you need more Help!
ok thx thx for answering.

It searches for backups in clockworkmod/backup instead of goapkrev/backup, you just have to make a clockworkmod folder and move your backup folder into it.
i tired , it can't restore the backup files frome 2.5.1.8
the folder is corecct

I hope it is the right forum to ask.
I've just flashed my GS2 to JB 4.1.2 and Rooted.
Before that I made a mistake and backup my files with Go backup pro.
Now I can't restored because it is not find my backup files on the path..
I have searched in your forum vertically and horizontally and I found some thread about this problem but without a solution.
Could someone please advice me how to restore my files back?
Thank you very much.

I also backup my files using Go Backup pro. The backups by default are in external sdcard ( sdcard1). After flashing a rom you reinstall Gobackup Pro from Play Store. Launch the app and you will see the two tabs onscreen : backup tab and restore tab. Just click the restore tab and you see a prompt showing all backup files. Choose the latest files and click restore.

I tried it and still I don't have any backups on screen.. :crying:
See which storage has been set as default. ( under settings - storage)
If you backed up to SD and now internal memory is made as default, it won't show the files. (as it searches only internal memory)

I did backup on the SD card.
I did check and both shows no backup..
GoBackup doesnt recognize old backup files problem solved!
OK...got something for all of u punks like me out there. After installing new ROM i couldn't restore my backuped upfiles with GoBackup coz app couldn't recognize or find old backup files. I really had some important stuff there and wasn't intending to just give up. I have read many forums but everyone said to just give it up and forget it. Said hell no! So after few days of trying (reinstalling rom, gobackup, deleting caches and god knows what else i have tried) i came a cross of this lame idea . I actually opened GoBackup files on my GoogleDrive(so.... i had backup but app couldn't find it or recognize it to be able to restore it) and checked what i had installed. Made a list and installed all apps i had when i was making backup. Then i installed apps and made backup via gobackup. And here it goes... i copyed old backup files in latest backup directory , renamed old backup files using names from new files. So u get your old backup using file names of latest backup. Now app will recognize your old backup coz u renamed them. App thinks your old backup is actually latest backup. U just go into app and restore your things.
So:
1.Check out your GoBackup directory where u have your backup files (which after rooting app doesn't find or recognize) and make a list of apps u wanna restore
2.Install apps from your list
3.Make new backup of all apps u wanna restore later(old ones u had installed)
4.Now open backed up files that u wanna restore and open latest backup directory and rename old files using names from new backup files.
5.After renaming old backup files, move them into latest backup directory replacing latest backup files with renamed ones.
6.Go to GoBackup app and make restore of latest backup which is actually old one .
Found an easy solution
1. Connect your phone via cable.
2. Open SD card, locate GOBackup folder and press copy.
3. Go to local memory and press paste.
Now open GOBackup on your device, and its a miracle, all your backup there
Hi all,
I want to create a nandroid backup from my desire S. I do this with latest 4EXT recovery Touch and Rom Manager.
During the backup process I get: "Can't mount system/lib/! Skipping system/lib/ in this backup"
What does this mean exactly? I thought system/lib/ was part of the ROM. Will my backup work if I restore it without the system/lib/ in it?
My ROM is SabsaPrime 15.0
Thank you very much in advance
Sabsa prime, like most custom roms, doesn't use the /system/lib partition, so your backup should work fine without it.
Thx m8, that's good to know!

You are probably on hboot [06].98 which does not implement a seperate /system/lib partition. Nothing to worry about
If you want to fix the error and are on hboot 2.00.x00x / 7.00.x00x, open the 4ext recovery app, settings, recovery tab, scroll down, tick both backup and format system/lib, then close the app, reboot to recovery, nandroid backup, format system, nandroid restore.
I also encountered it and it bugged me, hence I did as I described. It took me a long time to find the option because I expected to have it in recovery somewhere, but it seems only to be in the app.
I believe the partition is named system_lib so you might be able to do it through fastboot format or fastboot erase, but I haven't tried this personally.
DO, ANYONE (AS A NOOB) NEEDS SOME SYSTEM OR USER INSTALLED .APKS from CWM (clockwork mod) Backups? It would be easy to get them just by Re-installing the Backups. But in some Cases we don’t want to restore the whole system backup instead of SOME APPS or DATA Only.
So Here’s the Tutorial to Extract the .APKs or DATAs From the Backups which is in the .tar format. (CWM RECOVERY only.) found By ME. (I don’t know if anyone Other than me have already found this Method. Coz I Didn’t find any.)
Go Here! http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/general/restore-apks-form-cwm-t2815463
Here are two must have apps for rooted users with TWRP as their recovery.
Online nandroid backup: Allows you to make a TWRP backup WITHOUT having to reboot into recovery. 'nuff said. : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup
Nandroid Manager: It does alot of things but the main one is this...you can extract individual files from your nandroid backup. : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.bkrestore.pro
Both are free and along with Titanium Backup *Root* are must have's.
Enjoy!
