This is CWM 5.2.0.8.
I was pissed the other day when a blackout happened, I could hardly use the recovery because I couldn't see the keyboard. This won't happen will that version, as I light on the keyboard.
ALso I changed the colors to a nice gradient.

Flash first another CWM, if you haven't already, then you can flash this from CWM directly (using adb and flash_image).
If you have SuperOSR / CM or any rom with flash_image added (ONLY): you can also use my app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.adlx.recoveryflasher which will allow you to flash any CWM or Stock Recovery.

Hi! A lot of people ask for a guide to install ClockWorkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5 on the Desire HD.
I'm not a pro, i make this guide to help people ! Some one can correct me if I'm wrong, i'm open !
Description:
This guide will help you to install CWM 3 on your Desire HD.
Warning:
CWM 3 doesn't support update-script (Amend), it requires update-binary and updater-script (Edify)
Not all mods use updater-script, test and if that don't work, try this this usefull tool that make the conversion betwen Amend and Edify: amend2edify
If some one want, i can explain the use of this tool
Before Flashing:
You need adb and fastboot to perform this install !
You can download it here:
http://www.multiupload.com/QACREBQOWO
You also have to download the CWM 3 .IMG here:
http://www.multiupload.com/80H7K8IXG4
Let's GO !:
1) Extract the content of adb_fasboot.rar in a folder named "adb_fastboot" at the root of your disk (ex: "C:\adb_fastboot")
2) copy the .IMG of CWM 3 into the same folder of the step 1 (ex: "C:\adb_fastboot\ace-cwm-3.0.0.5.img")
3) Connect your phone by USB in (Charge only mode
4) Open a command prompt: Windows key + R and type "cmd" and valid by OK
5) Go into your adb_fastboot folder with this command:
Code:
cd C:\adb_fastboot
If your folder disk is not c:\ replace "C" by the correct letter !
If your folder is not named adb_fastboot, repalce "adb_fastboot" by your folder name !
6) Reboot your phone in bootloader with this command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
7) Flash the recovery with this command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery ace-cwm-3.0.0.5.img
8) Reboot your phone:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Well done !
You have successfully flashed ClockWorkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5 on your Desire HD
Great tut But U must also mention about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11247819&postcount=11554
Info just added to the How-To !
Thanks Krzysiec !

Is the charging bug still present in 3.x version?
Is it possible to do a restore with cwm3?
Every time I try to make a restore from a cwm7 backup

CWM ON EVERY BOOT WITH GPS WORKING
What Is This??
This is a mod to achieve ClockWorkMod Recovery on Every reboot/boot with a fully functioning GPS. So far this is the only method to have CWM On boot without breaking GPS.This methos uses IBMc PowerBoost 2.0.
Things you will need:
1. Jrummy16's BusyBox Installer (download on market)
2. Download PB-2dot0_final.zip and place on sdcard
3. Terminal Emulator (download on market)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1. Reboot into CWM using Atrix Bootstrapper and
Step 2. flash PB-2dot0_final.zip and reboot
Step 3. Once rom loads up , uninstall AtrixBootstrapper or set permissions in SuperUser for it to "denied" (i would uninstall AtrixBootstrapper after quickly setting to deny,you wont need it)
Step 4. Download Jrummy16's Busybox Installer from market,open it,and click install. You want to install latest 1.19 Busybox over 1.17 that you probably have. looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 5. Open Terminal emulator and type the following one line at a time,hitting ENTER after each line is typed:
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
chmod 755 /system/xbin/powerboost
powerboost
now you should see this:
Step 6. It will ask you if you want it to install Jrummy16's BusyBox Installer,just type N for "No" and hit enter as we already installed this.
Step 7. Now it will Prompt you to select a number. type in 5. "CWR On Every Boot"
Step 8. After "Installation Complete" only takes about 2 seconds, you will type 8 for a Reboot,and type Y for yes.
Step 8. Enjoy!
If you like my work,hit the thanks button,if not,hit the back button : P
If you plan on using this in your projects all i ask is for you to simply credit me in your OP.

Question
Question. Does the bug still exist wherein the battery discharges completely and the phone is unable to regain a charge with CWM on Recovery script installed? I haven't personally experienced this because I've never let my battery drain. I've seen it posted in another thread.

I can't get the script to stick. After I do the setup and reboot, I boot into CWM like it should, but once I power off and boot again it just boots normally. I followed the directions exactly, and tried the process again, but the same results.
I assume it's because I'm not creating this script where it wants to go. Any advice or help? Thanks
I should note that I'm on stock 3.6 and have only rooted and installed the bootstrapper previously.

I typed it just as it is, and even done it in adb shell with copy and paste, but it would never create the init.d folder or the 99cwr script. So I opened root explorer to see what was going on. The system was mounted as rw, but it just wouldn't create it. So I made the init.d folder myself and ran powerboost again and it created the 99cwr script, but still, normal bootup. I guess it needs to be called during boot or whatever, but idk where to set that. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks

Hi guys,
I managed to port latest CWM v6.0.3.3 & v6.0.3.5 for our device. :victory:
It took me some time to find out how to fix boot loop issues which occurs when we use online CWM Builder. (Thanks to mb-14)
The only new feature I noticed, was "INSTALL ZIP FROM SIDELOAD" which allows us to install ZIPs using ADB commands.
There's no bootloop issues or such, still you should TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I also changed the background colour to black for CWM 5 clean look's lovers.
I don't recommend touch version because the font it's too big and I can't change. better use the regular one.
Touch means Touch support.
BlackBG/Dark means Black Background.
No root users, download *.tar.md5 file only.
Root users, download any file *.zip or *.tar.md5
Hope you like it.
And ignore that error "Warning: no file_context found ...."
GT-S7500L / GT-S7500T users, don't flash it.
I might be able to help you porting it to your variants.

Check this: http://builder.clockworkmod.com
It's written there that touch recovery will only work on ICS and later kernels.
I already tried to port touch recovery but it looked so much ugly on ace plus, it was like changing LCD density from 160 to 240 !
As I'm not a developer I couldn't fix it, but it works anyway.

This error is because of the updater-script not the recovery itself, other recoveries ignore asserts checks (I guess).
can you post some images of touch version? If it's really resolution problem maybe we can contact Koush about it.

It`s permanent CWM.. I`ll attach an odin package for this recovery to make it easier.
Just unzip it and put it on the pda tab in Odin 3.07 and flash it.
As i said here i'm working on a rom.. For now i managed to deodex all apps and frameworks and remove some of the bloatware.. And it`s fully working.. I`ll mod it in a few days and upload it.
Meanwhile, as a homework, gather around to open a thread for this device
Cheers!!

When I try to wipe dalvik cache an error appears but not really interrupts the process.
"E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]"

that is because cwm search for dalvik on external sd and maybe you don't have one or cwm doesn't mount it.. the process is still wiping internal dalvik so that's the reason for not interrupting.. it's a normal thing :good:

Ran this command from terminal emulator and when I tried to boot it into recovery, the phone went dead. There is no signs of any activity and I pulled the battery out and when I press the power button, there is no response from the phone.
It's a brand new phone and it's dead already. Sigh!
Any ideas how to recover it? Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

make sure that the partition is mmcblk0p10 or you will brick your device !
now you can reboot to recovery (volume up + home +power) or type reboot recovery via Terminal or CMD and enjoy CWM 6.0.4.7
2.On Phone :
First Download Terminal Emulator From the Play Store.
Start Terminal,
Type the Following Commands :
PHP Code:
su (you need root acess for it )

you can try both.
For those who use Mac… don't like to use Odin out of fear of retribution from Scandinavian deities or are scared to typo mmcblk0p10 and brick their S4...
Download the CWM / TWRP flashable ZIP for the touch recovery here...
Packed by myself, tested and working on my phone... Thanks to alvin14 for the recovery.img.

Let us know if it worked for you from TWRP... I flashed from CWM 6.0.4.4.
Can somebody confirm if restore works fine?
Earlier version was fiving fc after the restore. And you will have to factory reset it.
It works just fine...

When I Try Flashing Rom, It's Say Aborted Error 7. When Im Flashing Roms. Like Wanam,Legend.
Then Im Flashing Cm11 It Works. I had to Downgrade My Recovery To 6.0.4.5 To Flash My Rom Back.

I think that's probably a ClockWorkMod thing. Or the specific ROM. Have no problems at all with ROMS. Especially Wanam.
