I tried many roms, kernels, mods and fw. I didnt have this problem before I rooted my phone. I use ARHD 6.2.1. now. problem still exist.

It is cause you are using the wifi calling it has bugs and drops calls it also all ways runs in the background even when wifi is off I suggest unistalling it via titanium backup or at least turning it off when making calls

I have only had those problems with wifi calling and it is included on ARHD and is on by default you will see a lil blue icon in status bar if it is one , otherwise you might have a faulty device or bad reception where you live cause I have not had it or seen this issue about the phone
Sent from my HTC sensation 4g using Tapatalk

It couls also be the sim, try yours in a differnt phone and see if the issue stays with the sim or not

I read that some users have this issue too, but couldt find solution

I have the same problem with ARHD 6.2.1
My workaround is to disable 3G mode. It seems that the phone prefers weak 3g cells over 2g cells with good signal strength.
Install one of the GSM Monitors from market. If your signal strentgh ist -100dBm or more, phone calls get unstable. After switching to 2g mode (Settings - Mobile Network - Network Mode - GSM only) I have -75 - -90dBm now and more available cells than before.
Phone Calls are stable now.
Before that I tried to downgrade to another radio but no luck. I never had this problem with ARHD 3.6.8 - 3.6.13 that I used before.

No, it happens with gsm calls, I turned off 3G and still happens.

You might have a faulty phone or case the antenna in the cover may not be connecting right if you have T-Mobile you send it in for warranty they are pretty good about that up to three times in the first year and its free

Did you guys purchase you handset through a mobile carrier in your region, or purchase it online from another country?
If it's the latter, you may need to look into flashing a more appropriate radio for you region.

I found something out:
If I turn off 3G (WCDMA) and only use 2G (GSM) then evrything works fine.
But in 3G I have caling problems

Desire S has full signal but cannot recieve calls

I have recently switched phones from my HD2 where I had no problems on T-moble uk. I upgraded to a desire S and I am having the following problems, I have had the changed so im on my second desire s and the problems not fixed.
My phone can have full signal but when someone trys to ring me. they cannot get through. my phone doesnt even ring. However I can normmaly ring someone from the phone fine.
I dont recieve sms very quickly either but its consistance I dont recive them until 13mins after they have been sent.
Is it an option im missing? has anyone got any ideas?
Willing to try anything it driving me nuts
Have you tried a different Sim in your phone? Or tried your existing Sim in another phone?
This doesn't sound like an option setting

england? anyone got an idea what causes it? I never had this problem with this sim in my htc hd2
I have been having the same issue, not receiving calls and then getting a text message about 10 minutes later from my provider notifying me that I have missed said call lol.
Try changing your network settings to 2G only, I've been looking into this issue recently, and I came across a thread somewhere that it can be caused by the phone getting stuck in HSDPA or HSUPA mode, and not changing back to 2G to receive calls and text messages, or something to that extent.
TL/DR
Try 2G only, report back.

There are, for some people at least, problems with s/w 1.47.xxx.x (Settings->About phone->Software information) - see
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1190347
and
http://androidforums.com/htc-desire-s/396171-signal-drops-completely-htc-desire-s.html
If you read through these posts you'll see incoming calls failing/going straight to voicemail is one of the issues noted. Some posts suggest HTC have admitted there is a problem.

[Q] Connectivity problems due to WCDMA vs. GSM

I just got an HTC Sensation and am having terrible connectivity issues. I've narrowed it down to this:
When I leave my network on GSM only, I have decent reception but can only use EDGE and lose my MMS sending and receiving capabilites (which I use often).
When I switch to WCDMA only, I have no reception whatsoever.
When I switch to WCDMA/GSM auto, I have really bad connectivity (constant dropped calls) but I'm able to send and receive MMS.
My sim is a brand new 4g sim from T-Mobile.
Anybody have any idea how to fix this? I checked the forum but didn't come across anything.

I assume you are on the stock ROM and are unrooted? Are you using GB or ICS update?
I also had this problem on GB stock ROM, and partially fixed it by using cell tower predefined lists, rather than using the auto option which made the phone constantly search for the tower with the highest reception, something which my Sensation failed to do properly.
Try this method to begin with, it might help. It solved the issue to some extent for a lot of users.
Access the phone dialer and dial the code *#*#4636#*#* – don’t press the ‘call’ button. After acouple of seconds the test menu will appear. From this test menu, select ‘phone information’ and scroll down to the first dropdown menu.
Select GSM auto (PRL) rather than the likely setting, which will be WCDMA/ GSM Auto. Restart your phone by powering off and back on again. Check the test menu again to ensure the GSM auto (PRL) option has been retained. If not, set it again as above.
That said, installing a custom ROM improved my reception stability ten fold. I strongly advise it.

I'm pretty new to this stuff and don't really know what GB or ICS is. But I'm sure I'm on the stock rom and unrooted since I haven't changed anything on the phone since I got it.
I tried your suggested method but unfortunately it didn't make a difference. It also disabled my MMS capabilities again :-\

I don't think rooting is for you...
Find in settings updates. There should be an option to manually check for updates, select that. If it comes up with an update, make sure you have wifi and enough battery.

Checked for updates and it says my device is up to date.
Before this phone I had an HTC HD2 and ran AmeriCan Android on it but I can't say I was a big fan of the idea of having to run another system after starting my phone. It was a big reason for why I decided to get the sensation in the first place.
Hmm.. I guess you will just have to wait for the ICS update, which is the latest operating system at the moment. (Kind of like Windows XP vs Vista)
Other than that I have no idea why you have not received the update; out of interest which country are you in? And which carrier are you on? Is your phone SIM free or carrier branded (contract as well)?
You will just have to wait the update out. However, you are welcome to root your phone like me (Google it), and I can possibly show you in the right direction if you send me a PM.

Delayed sms on att

I have sensation 4g with the ordroid Rom unlocked to att. It seems I am recieving sms messages late. Is there a fix for this?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Check your phone is keeping good time as this may be an issue
Also are you getting intermittant reception issues?
pull the battery whilst switched on leave it for a couple of minutes then put it back/switch on this will refresh you network connection and may also help
Lastly try a different sim and see if the problem goes away - it can on rare occasions be the sim

I can't connect with 3G

Hi there. For several days I have HTC Sensation and I have a little problem with it. I bought a package of internet in one of the Polish phone networks (Play), but the phone connects to the Internet only through the EDGE. All options are set correctly (for example I turned off "use 2g only to save battery") so I do not know why this is happening. I replaced the SIM card with a new one, however, and nothing changed. I tried to set 'WCDMA only', but then phone totally didn't connect to the phone network. I'm using AOKP ROM, but I tried the Vipers and CM9 - no change. I'm definitely 3G coverage as friends on their smartphones without problems in operation of the Internet. What else can I do to turn on the 3G? Thank you in advance for your help and best regards.

I tried to insert SIM card of other GSM network - problem didn't solve. I changed kernel to Sultan and GetRIL is showing that RIL/baseband is matching, so I did all from your guide. Anyway, I see that your guide is for people who having problems with WiFi, but for me WiFi is working excellent and signal is strong too. I just can't connect with 3G, only EDGE/2G is working. Does anybody know how to fix this? Maybe should I take back S-ON and original ICS and send phone to HTC Service? I've got the warranty to the end of this year.
Well actually it's the same for wifi and 3G... I don't know normally this fix it!

So if WiFi is working, 3G should be working too? I'm really resigned, I'm trying other ROMS, kernels, radios from Monday... but I don't if there is any sense to send phone to the service and wait 2 weeks to get know from them that they can't do anything with this error...
