I have T-Mobile and for a while my "4g" network has ben slow . On my hd2, sensation & lumia 710 so my guess is that its my area. I was thinking about buying a MiFi from at&t since I'm stuck with T-Mobile for another year & half. Does anyone here have it? Is it worth it? I'm planning on using it with a samsung focus s unlocked so staying on my data plan will only make it edge signal & MiFi looks like a good idea for me.

All of a sudden I got a banner ad for Simple Mobile on this site..
Never heard of it but I am all for better plans and lowering my phone bill..
This is the first time I heard of a new GSM carrier in the states..
Or are they just a reseller? Do they use someone elses network?
How's it work? anyone using them? Thanks...
Here is the link incase anyone hasn't see it..

They sell prepaid service on T-mobile's network, so in that sense they aren't a new carrier.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Figured they were just using someone else's network..
Too bad it's t-mobile.. not going to get 3g with my phones with there screwy frequency...
T-Mobile is amazing where I live. Far better than AT&T. It all depends on where you live which is better. T-Mobile's 3G in Pittsburgh is twice as fast as AT&T (same for EDGE) and AT&T dropped 80% of my calls. T-Mobile however has some serious dead spots in lots of other cities.
My biggest beef with t-mobile is the goofy 3g frequency..
Basically to get a 3g phone I HAVE to use one made for T-Mobile.. and then I won't get 3G when in Europe..
Whoever came up with that idea hopefully has been fired by now..
The Vibrant will get 3G in Europe I'm pretty sure
One phone.. which may work.. isn't going to make me switch..
I'd rather have the ability to take an unlocked phone and use it here.. then the other way around..
Hi guys,
Don't blast me guys if you think this is a useless thread.
I was looking to buy the sensation for my wife but we have never had a contract with t-mobile and as such do not have any experience with them personally. In philly friends who had t-mobile weren't always happy about their signal when traveling out of town or just the fact that most people we knew were on At&t. Does T-mobile have truly unlimited data?
Anyway for a change I was looking to you guys for a review of t-mobile rather than the phone itself.
Also just to be sure if I buy it out of contract I could use AT&T sim card right?
Thanks for any replies. Much appreciated. Enjoy your phone.

I'm in NYC and Tmo's coverage here is great. I dont travel much and when I do it's usually big cities so I've never had a problem with signal. I know when I go to some more rual areas I have some issues but that's not too often.
TMO does have unlimited data BUT you get throttled to dial up speeds if you go above 2gb/5gb/10gb(depending on the plan you have)
You will be able to use your ATT sim card if you buy an unlocked sensation or have yours unlocked. But ATT uses different 3G bands as TMO so I think you would be stuck on 2G speeds
Thanks for the reply. You see I am on sprint (EVO 4G) and I love Sprint's unlimited everything plan.I don't think they do the throttling thing.
So buying it unlocked and using AT&T is a no go if it's going to be stuck on 2G speeds.

No Problem Yeah I think Verizon and Sprint are the only ones with TRUE unlimited data.
You might want to hold off then. I do think I read somewhere that a Sensation with ATT bands went through the FCC, So they might be releasing the sensation soon on ATT

That's about to change on Verizon's side.

As much as I love my Atrix I really hate AT&T. T-Mobile looks to have better pricing but somewhat of a less than stellar network coverage where I live. I live in the Detroit metro area where I'm sure the service will be fine plus I know that Tmo has a 4G network here. My only concern is I spend alot of time "up-north". With AT&T I can usually rely on Edge but looking at the Tmo coverage map is kinda scary. The other plus to Tmo is the Sensation which I recently played with and its amazing! Any one around my area wanna chime in with some advice??
Is it roaming or native?
T-Mobile has WiFi calling to give you network coverage over WiFi when you are in range of it.
With the acquisition you can lock in a cheaper rate plan now, and keep it for the duration of the contract..
The phone is rather useless if you can't get reception. Maybe get a cheap tmobile prepaid sim card (find a used one, maybe from ebay or friends), and go to area that you usually go to check the reception?
For what's it's worth, most people report that tmobile 4G is indeed faster than AT&T 4G when they both have equally well reception. But as you said, AT&T's coverage is better, at least with EDGE.
I have a Sensation and my roommate has got a Atrix 4G.
I hate the lousy TFT screen which seems terribly white of A4G
And I think the difference of 256MB memory is certainly nothing
Sensation is great.Better than i9100 in my opinion.
And I'll enjoy the happy time with the s-off's coming
I used to be on my dad's ATT plan, but he suspended the account and nixed my unlimited data and I moved to Sprint. Now I kind of have buyers remorse because they embed their SIM cards, get terrible signal inside buildings (being a non VZ CDMA carrier) unless you're right next to a window, and have a slow 3G network, and are taking forever to get LTE up. VZ is not an option, its too expensive, altho its by far the best network. I'm thinking of going to T-Mobile, because their 3G is HSPA+, which is kind of 4G, and LTE gets bad battery life anyway. They also have unlimited data, and I feel like even if I got to the point of throttling, it might STILL be faster than Sprint. I also like the idea of GSM too. But T-Mobile is going under and I wanna know more about their service.
I'm in Eastern LI right now, and probably will be in NYC later this year. I do still own a Photon, which I could use for overseas if Sprint doesn't update their GS3 like Verizon will, but I don't wanna bother owning 2 phones. Helpppp!
Please someone help me, I still have time to return the sprint s3 which I paid full price for
Hey! Been drooling over this 1020 bc I'm a camera person and I'm just plain old tired of my S3
I'm on tmobile with no intentions of going back to ATT bc of contract and such.
I know it is possible to unlock it for tmobile and that it will work in refarmed 4g areas (how do i find out if I'm in a refarmed area?)
My main question though, is it worth it if I mainly use wifi calling? I live in a basement apartment and I never have normal service with my s3 (i never haver service anywhere honestly) so I'm always on wifi calling. I've heard wifi calling is and is not available and I'm trying to figure out which is true.
If it does not have wifi calling, will there be an upgrade option somewhere in the future with xda development? Will tmobile be releasing their own version of the 1020?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Katie
I unlocked mine for 15$ (less than 1 hour) when I was in the USA. The website was unlockforcheap (I think I'm not allowed to put link, so, google it)
