When you say Amazon APK, are you referring to the Amazon Appstore?
If so, log in to your amazon account...
From the Amazon Homepage, Highlight the link "Appstore for Android" then click "Amazon Apps" Shows all of the Amazon Brand Apps. (Amazon MOBILE is listed.)

I use this same app for my Toshiba Touch Pad.
"Now compatible with Android OS 4.0."
The one on the fire is called windowshop.apk, if you have a recovery backup you can prob use TB to pull it out.
I think this is what you are looking for: bit.ly/wNxjoN
I pulled it from my Fire.

Folder Organizer is the free app on Amazon today. Just wanted to point it out because some people were missing the desktop folders, etc.
For a folders app, it wants waaaaay too much in the permissions area.
Personally I use "smart shortcuts" works great!

Well, it needs the phone calls permission so that you can direct dial from the contacts folder (if you use that).
Folder Organizer ownz your face
if u use this make sure u use simple theme and normal icons, the others kills the fluid scrolling speed and looks like crap
Bought this app two months ago. Sad to see it going free, but I highly suggest buying it from the market. Cheap app and the dev updates the app frequently.
Amazon is meh when it comes to updates via App Store.

I have noticed this in some instances too. However, it looks like the Amazon version and Android Market version are the same in this case. Happy downloading to those that don't have it yet.

Yup that is correct. Offer goes away 12 AM PDT (3 AM EDT).
@Artood2s: Yeah they're the same. It's just Amazon has to approve the app of being updated (etc) via its App Store. It is most noticeable for Angry Birds.
It also sucks for people who bought SwiftKey on Amazon. The app has been removed from Amazon and no signs of SwiftKey X being available.

Don't get me wrong. If price is the same/close on both markets, I'll buy from the Android Market everytime. Much more likely to get updates first. Just pointing out that for now, Folder Organizer is the same on both.

So all apps are from Amazon app store right? Do does Amazon store has all apps we can find in market?

Amazon app store does not have all apps. I recently looked for dice player and chromemarks since I had extra cash on my gift card and could not find them. Hopefully that changes in Nov when it releases.

Amazon App store
I installed the Amazon App store on my tablet but when I tried to download a free app I was informed I was in an unsupported market: Canada.
I beleive (assuming) this has to do with copyright laws. A lot of their kindle devices aren't available in Canada due our different copyright laws.
Something to look into if you are counting on the app store.

If you do infact live in canada, Check out the unblock-us.com service. You'd be able to set it up on your kindle fire assuming you can change the DNS address book.

Paid apps
I just got the Fire today. I went to install Ultimate Tabs, which I had purchased on the Android Market and had previously installed on my HTC Eris and then my HTC Incredible 2.
With the Fire, you have to use Amazon's App Market, so I went looking for Ultimate Tabs there and found it. But now they want me to pay for it again!
Now, I can see if I had it installed on an iphone previously, but this is supposed to be another Android device. Why should I have to pay for it twice? Anyone know of a way around this (besides sideloading the apk) that's legitimate?

I saw a thread telling me how to root it and install the Android Market. But then I saw another thread saying that rooting kills the Fire's ability to stream Amazon Prime videos. I don't know whether it's worth it. Maybe I should just shut up and pay the 2.99, but it's the principle of the thing lol.
if you already have it on another android device, u can extract the apk from there and side load it to Fire

If you haven't seen this game, you probably should.
The (best?) game I have seen so far for an Android device and this one has been (modified?) for the Kindle Fire.
Kotaku had a video of the game playing here
kotaku (dot) com/5861972/the-kindle-fire-just-might-be-a-kick+ass-gaming-machine
They incorrectly state that its a ipad version running (that version has been out for a while), the actual game is on the Amazon marketplace for $6.99
Funny - in Amazon's App store, when you bring up the page for "Dead Space (Kindle Fire Edition)", it says it's not compatible with my Kindle Fire.
Strange, I was able to purchase, install and play it without any issues last night.

I went out and came back in and now it says it's compatible. I'm gonna try it.
Thanks!
What is everyone's take on the game? It looked good, but I'm skeptical. I also have played both games on 360 already.
Sad stuff, being from EU I can't access the Amazon AppStore and can't purchase it.
Couldn't find it anywhere on the Internet either.
SWETT!
Going to def download this!
They pulled the app, probably due to compatibility issues:
http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Space-Kindle-Fire-Edition/dp/B0066T0EVE
Currently unavailable
We don't know when or if this item will be available again.
Can anyone that already downloaded it please share it?
Cheers

Seeing as it was a paid app, I think that would be frowned upon on this forum.

I think, you only need to give an address in the US to be able to access the amazon appstore.
Issues
I've had many issues with this game since I purchased it, just won't open, takes many many times trying to open it to finally get it to play, and sometimes it will open, but get to the EA screen and Force Close. Once it finally opens all the way thou, it plays perfectly, never force closes or waffles. If it's been pulled, it was prolly pulled for these issues, many reviewers of the game in the Amazon App Store where having the same problems.
Although when it does play, it's very good. The gameplay is is perfect for a tablet, I was surprised at how well it really played, and the graphics look amazing.
I can't find that game in the Market or Amazon App Store
super fun, pref shadowgun more though.
Even though its a paid app if someone would upload it that would be great. Ill buy it when it comes back to the store I'm just excited.

Your willingness to pay for it in the future, no matter how honorable, is not reason enough for anyone to upload this file. If you find it via other sources, good for you, but please don't ask people to do that on this forum.

HI guys, I have 'This app is not compatible with your device' message on 80% of apps on Market.... I didn't use my tablet for 3 month... it was properly working before
Now market looks different and i cannot download most of the apps.
I've tried to clean Market data, but it hangs, and when I reboot i works but issue still there.
I use Vanilla AOSP
What will be recommended action? Thank you
Give this procedure a try.
Thanks!

Thank you but suggested solution didn't work,
What worker is to update to 1.2, then I flashed GTabCombOver 3.4.2, now market works!
Good to see you sorted your problem. I get this error with the game loft data down loaders, the market let's me install them but the game downloaded gives the the incompatibility BS.
I solved this problem by getting a build.prop editor from the marketplace (should be available to most devices) and copied the settings from my HTC Glacier (MyTouch 4g). I can now download everything my MyTouch can. Some apps have minor problems, but most everything works fine. The only thing I can't d/l is the nvidia games, but I would submit that copying the build.prop settings from a phone that has the nvidia tegra would fix that problem.
I'm running the DRH ICS BETA and it has a built in build.prop editor with various selections to try but none have been successful for me, I even tried using the build.prop from my galaxy nexus but it wouldn't even boot.
change your screen dpi to 160 in the build.prop
Which settings do I change? I have the same problem. Apps that work on my Razr, don't work on here. Both are newspaper/magazine subscriptions.
Also, could the same thing be done to fool the Amazon market to think this is one of their tablets?

That doesn't really make sense. Amazon sold a ton of g-Tablets both via Woot! and Amazon itself. The g-Tablet is well-supported on the Amazon app market.

I meant specifically Kindle Fire Apps. This applies to a couple of news subscriptions that are available for I Pad, Kindle fire, but not generic Android tablets.

I found an answer to this problem. I downloaded what I needed on my Razr, did a complete backup with Titanium pro, copied the appropriate app onto SD card, put into G Tablet and install using Titanium pro. Worked great, that way the Market doesn't have to know what device I am installing this onto. The only problem was a notice that the resolution might be off. however, this was no problem.

I am using Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 (stable mod) and haven't found anything in the play store that I can't install. The only problem is using an older version of Google maps is necessary if you want to use maps. CM7 is fast and sips the battery.

Has anyone managed to install the Amazon.com app on an Acer A510/A700? It doesn't show up in a search on the Play store and when I try to download it from teh list of previously downloaded apps (it was available on my previous tablet) the Acer tells me it's incompatible. Kind of strange... Maybe there's a working APK out there somewhere?
Ummm, the A510 comes with the amazon app store installed out of the box.

Maybe, although I haven't seen it on mine. I'm not asking about the Amazon app store though, just the app that lets you manage your normal amazon account and purchase items from amazon.com.
When I search for it in the playstore, the amazon mobile app shows up, but it says it's not compatible with my device. I've got a A700 over here in Germany.
But why not use amazon in the browser? I mean it's a 10" device and your browsing via WLAN, don't you?

I think you got this wrong. It's not about the Amazon App-Store (that one works without problems), but about the Amazon mobile App.
