[Q] USB Bluetooth Adapter - General Questions and Answers

I'm making an app which can emulate usb bluetooth key, the process is simple when you run the app it ask you to enable bluetooth and when your in the app the notify you that you're connected to a PC and the pc must recognize the phone as a usb bluetooth key and notify when a bluetooth device is connected via the phone and the PC must show the name of the app as a specific name like (and people can edit the name of the usb key in settings will says) "Android BlueTooth is connected". What can i write in the activity.java and main.xml and/or Manifest.xml to do that?

Is this possible (phone by pc?)

So I connect my device to my PC via active-sync.
Then using a desktop app, I can select contacts, send sms messages and phone people using my pc headset
You may need to provide more information on both the type of headset you are using, your OS and also what type of phone your are using.
For instance, if you are using a bluetooth headset, and syncing via bluetooth, you may have a bit more to fiddle with than a wired headset to a cradled phone.
So, provide a bit more info.
No I mean the PC headset - so plugged into the line-in/mic jacks. The bluetooth connection is to connect the device to the PC.
Basically I want to make calls from my pc - using my phone as the "line".
This may be the way, I hope:

you can control pdas through pc and some allow you to see and download your sms but I am not sure about phone operation.

activesync over bluetooth on xp

so i just got the new 1005ha asus netbook today and spent the day setting it up as well as the bluetooth to the fuze. i got it to work with my stereo headset as well as to use data over bluetooth for internet
but i cant seem to make it sync up through activesync for file sharing
any help?
ive had the computer setup a port and told the phone to search in activesync and it doesnt find the com port just the same services each time
OK, sorry if you already did all this, its not 100% clear from your posts:
Create a new incoming port on the PC in bluetooth properties. (exactly where this is may vary - on my win xp its called "bluetooth devices" in control panel)
open active sync (on the pc). File / connection settings. check "allow connections to one of the following" <select the com port you just created>
make sure the pc is discoverable & phone bt is on
on the phone - open bluetooth settings and add a new device
select pc, pair, save etc
hopefully now the phone will see the pc, and activesync will now be available as a service
select sevice, save etc.
launch activesync on phone, and select "connect via bluetooth"
remember to disconnect when you're done! - it wont close the bt connection just because its finished its sync

Problem with docking station

I brought the 1st party docking station for the P500 (the SDT-140), and am having problems with it.
When I plug the phone via the dock into my powered hub, Windows complains that 'This USB device is not recognized'. Plugging directly into my computer, Windows recognizes the device, but tells me that 'This device can perform faster', and when copying files to the SD card, maxes out at ~1MB/s (compared to the 5-6MB/s i can get when copying to a USB pen drive). I have tried using a different cable, and different ports, but still have this problem, any ideas?
(P500 running stock firmware, V10b-DEC-13-2010, Android 2.2.1, kernel 2.6.32.9)
A possible fix
As this happened to me (but with other USB devices, not the phone) I can only suggest you this fix. Please note that you may temporarily lose control of your input devices (mouse and keyboard) if they are connected via USB.
- unplug all of your USB devices (except for the mouse and keyboard)
- open the Device Manager and uninstall all of your USB Host Controllers. They may have a longer name, such as "Intel ICH10 Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3A3A" or whatever. This will also remove the corresponding USB root Hub.
- if you have a PS/2 keyboard, you will still have some control over the Device Manager window and will be able to continue without rebooting your computer. Using the keyboard's arrows, select the computer name at the top of devices' list. Press the "Menu" key (it's placed at the bottom right, between right Alt and right Ctrl and has a list select symbol on it). This is the equivalent of right-clicking with your mouse. Press down arrow to select the only option - "Scan for hardware changes" and hit Enter. This will detect and reinstall all of your USB controller drivers and re-activate all the USB ports.
- if you have an USB keyboard and it stops responding (because you just unistalled its USB controller) simply power off your PC using the power button and then turn it back on. The drivers will be reinstalled during the boot.
I hope this solves your issue with the low transfer speed, or maybe even the "This USB device is not recognized" problem. There's no risk involved with this procedure so just go ahead. Good luck!

Connect to you smartphone interface through USB

Hi all,
Do you know if there is an application with which I can connect to my device through USB cable, and to have full access to it? I mean to send sms from PC (with mouse and keyboard), use mouse to navigate through pages, for messenger, and so on. I know that there are apps to connect remotely from device to PC, but I need one to be from PC to device, and through cable.
Yes there is, been using this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.xdevelop.rm&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm5ldC54ZGV2ZWxvcC5ybSJd .
Just click on the "Remote control" on the browser desktop for a view of your phone and control it remotely. Works with WiFi/4G/3G/2G/USB Cable.

[Q] Help connecting ipega controller to pc

OK, not technically a question about android, I'm just trying to connect an android compatible device to a PC via bluetooth.
I have an ipega 9021 controller for android (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41O1ixqkGGL._SY300_.jpg), and was wondering if it's possible connecting it to PC properly.
I can connect the controller, but it doesn't reconnect automatically, so I have to delete the device and re-connect it every time.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong? I set it to gamepad mode (X + home), search for devices on PC, when the device is discovered, I got to properties and check the "drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (hid) and only then connect (otherwise I get an error). The controller then works great, but upon disconnecting I have to do the process again.
