Google News and Weather widget

Anyone have any luck getting the Google News and Weather widget to work? The apk I installed force closes.
I got it working by pulling the apk off my Droid X
Others have reported a no-go doing this so YMMV.

I know the one from the Eris works on the LG revolution the version # is 1.2.02 RC2, but that I think about it...it might be the one from the Original Incredible. It gets installed from the from an older Gapps package for the Eris. I've tried on several phones that had bing crapware on it, and the .apk installed just fine, and works 100% The version I have is from the Vanilla Tazz v20 ROM here's the link for the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733897
Works on thunderbolt with lastest update bone stock unmolested Rom.
Thanks
Neat app

If it's based off of Refuse, then no. It would be a Froyo rom.
to all my beta testers: is the link good for you and are there any bugs

I Odin'd back to stock flashed the zip in cwm and I am getting "install aborted (status 4)". the filesize is 179mb so I assumed it was ok. what do you think?
Flashed tiramisu and hellraiser; couldn't go more than half an hour without my phone. I'll check back later to see if anyone has any ideas on my issue.

I've had reports that the base was "stolen".
OP, contact me with ROM details and approval of original developers.
Closed until resolved.
EDIT: Thread reopened, ROM is legit.
I let Neo know that the OP spoke to me days ago asking for permission to use Refuse as a base. I granted it.
It is very nice to know though that the community looks out for the devs. It means alot

cyanogenmod?

Hey I wanted to install cyanogenmod to my Samsung galaxy s went to download the zip file and it says it cannot be found? Is there antithetical download links that are tested and work?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Link for cyanogenmod 7.1
Hi Calum, I can't post links yet but if you search for
[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Samsung Galaxy S II :: V7.1.0 RC1 (9 Oct 2011)
in the search bar for this forum the first page has the download, the link itself doesn't seem to work but the mirror does, also try using the cyanogen mod wiki page if you need help getting it to work, its all there.
enjoy
Thank you for the quick reply but I am looking for the galaxy s Tom not the galaxy s ii rom I tried the mirror for the galaxy s and the file semi-bricked my phone
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Yup, all the mirrors for the official CM7 stable ROMs are dead on the website
Ask your mantainer to reupload it.

Who is my maintainer? And is there any way around this? I put this rom on my san Francisco and I love it

Erm, I don't have your device, so I don't know. Just go to the CM website and it will tell you... the links were down for my Desire S aswell, so I asked our mantainer to reupload it, and he did.
Or why don't you just use the latest RC2? Itsstable.
Yeah, my brother has 7.2 RC2 on his ZTE Blade too. Works great.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
You can get cyanogenmod in the cyanogenmod site.
Click devices and then choose one of the buils.
RAC!
Is the rc2 better then? And what is it exactly?

well yeah, RC2 is based of CM7.2, stable is only CM7.1.
CM7.2 RC2 has many bug fixes and new tweaks. RC = release candidate, it isn't the final release, but it has potential to be the final release.

I got a link for the 7.1 I didn't like how the status bar had weird looking Widgets and the Samsung launcher had gone and the icons were all stock so I put it back to the stock 2.6 firmware I prefer it

Mate, thats the reason why peopl use CM7... they want a pure Google experience... So it's going to be completely stock Androdi with no Samung things in it obviously
Oh I thought it was for the extra settings and mods and stuff lol

And you are also right. I bet if you used CM for a week, you would love it. And there's something more: you can easily search for package which mirrors are dead by searching for it's md5checksum. For example update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS-signed.zip
md5sum: 9b0080373d67fdf1f88c54d08113c9aa

you need cm7 or cm9
or custom roms with cm9
see here they are two links cyanogenmod.com

Most STABLE rom out ??

I've had nothing but simple problems like not being notified when my supervisor calls, I'm on cm10. I need this phone to be RELIABLE for a simple thing like receiving calls. The only reason I'm finding this out is cause I'm checking Google voice and I'm fortunate for that app. Do I need to unroot ? Can someone just name the most STABLE rom of them all ? Thanks guys.

Most stable = stock ROM lol
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Yeah - I'd say stock is your best bet for stability... maybe even roll back to 2.3?
Back in the day when I used to run Gingerbread, the rock-solid stability my daily usage required paired with fast performance was provided by Oxygen rom 2.3 (that is the version I used, 2.3 does NOT refer to gingerbread!) and Trinity Kernel either the undervolted underclocked version for better battery life or the 1.1 GHz overclocked version.
Nowadays, I am rolling with JellyBean rom Rasbeanjelly which unfortunately is not under development anymore and is difficult to get a hold of, but my kernel is Trinity (always!) ALPHA 12.
Try these and maybe you will find stability and performance like I did. Those findings are results of lengthy testing conducted by me with various setups.
Good luck!
Stock ROM it is ! Thanks guys would I need to unroot for this ? Or just find the stock ROM link somewhere here ?

BTW not receiving calls is most likely Google Voice. Happened to me in the past so I disabled it.

Old Peter Alfonso download

Im looking for the Droid 1 rom from Peter Alfonso. I believe its gpa17 or gpa18. If anyone still has it and came send it to me. That would be great. All the links I tried are dead. Given how old the rom is.
Thanks
