Battery Drain while sleeping - HTC Sensation

I fully charged the phone to 100% and turned it on at 7:45 then I went back to sleep. I woke up at 10 to see the phone at 95%! Now, I'm currently using the Anker battery & I'm running on ARHD 3.6.13 with faux123 v0.2.8 kernel. The brightness is at its lowest & auto-sync is off. What should I do?

I recommend using Battery monitor widget Pro to see how much mA is phone using during sleep and when screen's on. Then install Better Battery Stats ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 ) and figure out, what is eating your energy
also, try undervolting

What's undervolting?

Undervolt makes your cpu use less energy. for undervolting try using system tuner pro or faux clock (here's link for faux's RootzWiki: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/4550-app09-beta-snapdragon-dual-core-oc-control/ ) But be aware that not every CPU handles heavy undervolting well. Do nandroid backup, then Start with -25mV.

edit
Try changing cpu governor to intellidemand (faux's kernel default) and min speed for cpu to 192. It may slightly improve battery life.

Hi,
When I was on 3.6.x,it was suggested that I try a Bricked kernel, which you can find HERE
I am not sure which one,but they tended to be more battery friendly than faux.
Read the thread.
You might get some valuable information.

Need Help! Battery Drain with ARHD 3.6.4

Hi i am having battery drain problems. My battery was working fine before like 10hours or more then all of a sudden it last like 7 hours on a full charge. After 5 hours its already in the 30's. I have ARHD 3.6.4 installed & faux123 0.2.3r_2 kernal. I installed faux clock to control the voltages. so right now its not undervolted because my phone cant handle it but my frequencies are at 1.08ghz max clock. I would like to know if i need to calibrate my battery or what do i check? I would appreciate the help Thanks.
You need to get an app to monitor your standby current. The one made by 3c is pretty popular.
Next, you need to see what it idles at. It should be low...Less than 100mA/Hr. (I see around 30mA/Hr or less).
If its high, then something is using it. Check that data. sync, wifi, and GPS are not on when not in use.

This may help you......

Hi,
Faux has released a new version to deal with the bad battery drain.

Running ARHD and kernel question....

So I've been running ARHD 3.6.4 with the faux123 kernel that came with the rom and found that my battery life was subpar. I then installed Faux123 2.3r3 and still noticed a huge battery drain. I charged my phone full and then left it at the bedside unplugged for 8+hours and found it went down to 70%. I snooped around a bit and found that my uptime and awake time were on sync the full 8 hours and I believe that means my cpu is running the whole time. So I read around a lil bit and found that bricked kernel doesnt have this problem, so I installed bricked 1.4r1 and now the awake and uptime differ but I also say people say that I should not use Daemon controller but install setcpu. Is that correct or can I use Daemon controller with bricked kernel? Also last question, whats the best governor to use, Ondemand or smartass or conservative? Thanks and sorry for the long post.

In 0.2.3r3 faux disabled classical Android power management and fully replaced it by its own, so sleep time is equal to the uptime.

Ondemand provides you better perfomanse with moderate battery drain.
Сonservative is laggy a little (somebody noticed not perfectly smooth UI), but its more power effectively.
The creator of bricked recommends using ondemand, and system tuner for overclocking I think.

CM7 Battery Drain

Love everything about this ROM except for the battery life, using KK3, dyanmicram's 99tweaks, app_process and system_server.
Why does my batter drain from moderate use in like 11 hours?
What kind of background apps or services are you running? What CPU governor is your kernel using (you can check with Voltage Control)? Is the phone draining quickly in standby, or only when you're using it? If it drains quickly in standby, use CPUSpy to see if your phone is going into deep sleep (otherwise you might have something causing wake lock). What kind of reception are you getting with the KK3 modem?

Sorry for the late response! Just reflashed CM7 after being disappointed with other ROMs.
Now using CM 7 11/21 build, USAS v13, 99tweaks, KK3 modem
Kernel using conservative governer. cfq I/O Scheduler. 100-1200 MHz
Phone seems to drain too much on standby.
CPUSpy says it is NOT going into deep sleep. Can't pinpoint any app preventing it.
Getting mid-full reception 3G/H+ with KK3 modem.
Edit:
Killed all processes, restarted, cleared out my voicemail (was that the key?), now i've entered deep sleep.
Spare parts says the "partial wake usages" are Dialer, Android System, Media, UID 10060, and a few other things that are practically nil.
Will keep yall updated if this actually worked, going to reset timers in CPUspy, put phone into sleep for an hour and see how much of that is deep sleep.

increasing battery life?

I've heard of battery calibration, how do you do it? also Im using faux's kernel with it coming with uv, but perhaps should I go lower than that until I find a voltage that keeps my phone going, if I use lower the voltage will it affect my performance at all? perhaps any suggestions on what i should make the voltage. btw im using cm7 nightly/faux's kernel.
I would use the ds faux kernel and undervolt the bottom numbers (anything below 900) to 750. Test what works and is stable. Also set a screen off profile that makes pit at 300 something.
Fairly heavy use and I got 13 hours today.
And battery calibration is a myth.

Check this reguarding battery calibration.

If you have corrupt battery stats they can affect battery.
after changing voltage i lose the reading on my battery and it says 999% in setcpu lol.
also how long can i expect to play gta III until battery running out on nightly cm7/trinity with max ghz set to 1 and -150 voltage from max on every mhz other than 432/216 and no wifi and lowest brightness

[Q] Best CPU Governor for Battery Life?

Hi all,
I have been using the ONDEMAND CPU governor for quite a while on my SGS4G running CM9 (Team Acid's version, the final herring one), and I have just gotten used to the 12-14 hour battery life that I have had ever since I switched from GB back in August 2012. However, most of the frequent users here recommend the SMARTASSV2 governor, so I tried to use that yesterday to see if battery life was enhanced.
If anything it seems that my battery life got worse (see attached picture). I am a moderate phone user in general; I use my phone for texting mostly, and sometimes I'll look something up on the Internet, but no music, WiFi and GPS are always turned off, no overclocking/undervolting. I recently purchased a new battery as my old one died about two months ago.
I was wondering, is there any governor for the CM9 ROM that is particularly good with battery but doesn't completely drain performance?
(Also, I tried to use the LZ kernel before, but it seemed to cause many more problems than it fixed.)
You've got some pretty bad wakelocks going on there. See how your phone is awake even though your screen is off? That is an issue. Also how much screen on time did you have on that run? Get Better Battery Stats(free on XDA) then fully charge and look at what wakelocks are occurring. You might also want to consider UVing if you want better battery life.
Also, if you're a fan of ondemand, I highly suggest moving to ondemandX, which actually does deep sleep when the phone is off.
But that will only help if you fix the wakelocks first. So follow hechoen's advice and your phone should be way more awesome.
Downloaded BBS today, we'll see how it goes.
